Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! The bartenders were friendly, the customers were friendly, the bathroom is unbelievable wicked cool - the best bathroom I have ever seen. My hubby and I went with another couple friend of ours. I have frequented bars that Stacy has worked at for a number of years and was excited to see his new adventure. (very well deserved after all these years) The décor makes you feel like you are inside a castle, like you are a princess. The ceilings are incredibly high with stained glass windows about the building. The lighting is fabulous and flattering and the fresh flowers on the bar are a very nice touch. They have a patio outside where you can smoke but can't take drinks just yet. We were there on a Wednesday, which apparently is 2 for 1 night. Score for us! Our friends said, "oh, just leave the leftovers in the car. We are only going to be here for one." Yeaaa......I grabbed the leftovers (which the bartender put in a fridge for us - awesome!) and we proceeded to stay for quite a few (my hubby was driving so no drinky drinky for him). We had a blast with everyone who was there. Our friends can't wait to go back. Wish we didn't live 20+ miles away. Now the bathroom. It's like you are just walking into another room. It is a unisex bathroom with plenty of stalls and urinals around the corner. The lighting is not sparse, not plentiful, just enough. The concept and the design is what makes it the most incredible bathroom. Seriously! They also do this charity shot thing that I thought was a brilliant idea. Every month they donate $$ from a specific house shot towards a different charity. We had two of the Voice Puckers - SoCo, Apple Pucker and Cran. They were $3 each but $1 went to the charity. This is the best gay bar in Phoenix! I say gay bar, because it is, but it's not like the old days. I see a mix of people at the "gay bars" these days...women, straight men, etc, especially at this one. It's a very warm welcoming bar. Absolutely beautiful and a really nice patio. Two patios actually but the main patio is so nice and relaxing. I was very impressed by the holiday decorations. Three Christmas trees on the huge bar, a Christmas tree hanging from the ceiling, wreaths and other decorations all over. Amazing! I don't know how Stacy does it, but it even smelled like Christmas! I was there for Karaoke, Monday is Stacy's night for it. Excellent sound system and very nice host. Bar staff is great. Very friendly!! I will definitely be back! This bar is so fun! Keeping it safe, the capacity is low and spread out. It's very clean. A casual atmosphere, with an ambiance and charm of an old-world cathedral with the walls featuring local community artists' works of art. This is a great place to get together with friends for a drink, for pleasant socializing and for dancing. The bar is bigger than it looks from outside and the patio extends the space further. Drinks are very good (ask Trish for her specialty, the Trish Delish), staff is very friendly, the crowd is mixed, and the sunken dance area is very nicely set up with diffuse lighting from the "stained glass" church window wall, the requisite mirror balls and dance lighting equipment. read more

Attended the soft opening 5/17/2013. Someone spent some money on this place. Beautiful decor, it looked like everything was new. Comfortable sitting areas with over-sized couches, plenty of bar space but this night was so packed it was impossible to get a seat at the bar. Cannot comment on the drinks as the lines were too long and we did not want to stand in them. I was surprised they did not have any wait staff mingling around to take drink orders. The only staff we saw was some guy that opened the front door for us and a handful of bartenders behind the bar. The small staff they did have were slow to remove dirty glassware and it seemed to pile up. Twice in an hour I saw empty glasses knocked over and break all over the brand new flooring. They had music playing but they had it turned down so low you could not really hear it. Parking was difficult because one cannot really tell what parking is the bar parking and what parking is the building behind it. There were signs posted that talked about authorized parking only so I worried my car was going to be towed. Stacy's definitely has the potential to be a great. I hope the owners will keep their eyes on the details. read more

I must say for gay bars in Phoenix it's pretty slim pickins but Stacy's @ melrose is holding it's own. I do hope everyman and their brother make Stacy's a staple in their Phoenix nightlife bar hopping. Stacy's usually has a good crowd and everyone seems to be friendly and not too clickish. The decor is pretty amazing with a medieval theme throughout. The patio out back is lacking a little uniqueness but it's there waiting for some $ I'm guessing to become amazing. Oh and please leave the girls at home it's a gay bar. Now I don't know about you but I'm gay because I like men and that's what I go to a gay bar for, THE MEN!! read more

This place seems like it's past its heyday. Came here from out of town for Pride Weekend and maybe it's just temporary staff for holiday weekends but no one seemed happy to be there. Grumpy, Rude and Stressed out out staff doesn't make for a relaxing cocktail. The door staff and all the ID scanning seem kinda of aggressive we are 35, not 18 lol. Then we go to open a tab and bartender failed that saying out card couldn't have a tab but I saw a 90.00 hold on there. Whatever that could be computer issues but then a barback named Juicy took my friends drink away before they were finished with it , while she was in the bathroom. This little short twink just scooped it up and poured it out without even asking me and my friend sitting there if that drink was spoken for and then we we tried to get a replacement for it. The rude lesbian was like we just will have to buy another one, said "sorry" and walked away from us. I think her name was Christie but you would think she thought her name was Christ -cause her customer service skills were tragic. It was the take-it-leave-it attitude we got from her. Well we left for Boycott and had amazing service and friendly staff and saw a new bar going up next door and will have to try that next time. Everyone be warned. read more

I really like this bar especially on Sundays they have rolling rock for $1.50. It's a chill environment and the music takes you back. I also really like their set up they have a nice little patio to relax at. The bathrooms are always very clean and modern. Stacy you know what!!..... What I loved the absolute most about this club was the art on the walls. The art was legit! From pugs to Frida Kahlo! Then they had unisex bathrooms where you turn to go in to the bathroom and it instantly gives you a Blade vibe like vampires are lurking in every corner. It definitely makes you feel like you are entering Dracula's penthouse bathroom where it all goes down. Red/Black, very gloom and ominous but still modern and nicely decorated. The sink is in the middle and immediately follows stalls and then urinals proceeding that. Very interesting but open for a unisex bathroom. I prefer this set up being someone that does not take kindly to being blinded by the "other side"lol. I did not feel like I was being subjected or exposed or close to the opposite sex in such a private setting. Club is on the nicer side than what i am used to. Very dim inside and intimate. A nice size stage for dancing but when I came it was used for karaoke. More of a men's club than a lesbians club as that is the norm but definitely a nice club, vibe and staff. read more

My wife and I are from out of town and we came here on goth night looking for a good time. The music was great and the people were really nice. My wife is in a wheelchair and the security helped us get on a special part of the stage. While we were dancing on the stage out of nowhere a leathery looking old man comes up behind my wife and starts leaning all over her wheelchair and shouting in her ear that "I'm the owner Stacy!!!!" It was absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. I had to tell him several times to back up but he didn't care. First of all do not touch me or my wife ever and stop yelling in her ear. I've been to this place 2 times. The first time was amazing with no issues. The second time however, all bad. We went there as our 3rd stop on mine and my Fiancé's bachelor/ette party. That being said we were fairly drunk when we arrived, so when we were getting kicked out because our grandpa was too drunk we understood. HOWEVER, as we were getting escorted out some chick literally threw her drink on one of our party members. Yup. Unprovoked. The security was right there and when my fiancé asked why the girl wasn't being acknowledged for her actions he simply said "She's a regular." WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK? So that makes it ok?? The gay and gay friendly spots in Phoenix can be hit or miss. Stacy's is one of my favorites because the atmosphere is so welcoming. Somehow I always end up dancing with someone here toasting with someone in the outside area, or randomly meeting someone new at that big sink in the bathrooms. DONT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DRUGGED!!!!!!! I've been coming here for a long time and have had great experiences. Except for this past Wednesday, my friend has a restraining order against someone and has to legally tell bouncers before they go into a bar just in case, the girl was still let in and my friend was kicked out and yelled at by the owner. Over 27+ of my friends and acquaintances have tested positive for benzos after waking up and not remembering a single thing over the past year. I think that's really bad for business in my opinion. The owner has laughed at a few of them and shrugged off a lot of the complaints of people being drugged. I don't drink a lot here for that reason. So just watch your drinks. I'm not sure if it's a bartender or the owner that's drugging people because it seems like a joke to him but just be very weary. One of the most welcoming bars on Melrose. Stacy the owner is fierce, powerful, an amazing person was an amazing tale of life. Now the bar has quite the history it's kind of this golf, electric music, drag show, gay bar, social space for local politics, community watering hole, whatever else you need your local bar to be. I'm so I'll say Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Friday are usual gay bar krowd but at the same time very welcoming everyone that I've met there and kind of get a mix of local couples that come there to grab a drink pause real quick and just say that the cocktails, almost all of the drinks my recommendation Getty stacys Palmer which is probably my favorite drink I've ever had. the atmosphere is great there's an indoor outdoor plenty of private spaces to have conversations there's the outdoor patio does have a food truck attack so you can get food plus a outside bar so you can get drinks and don't have to run inside just to get something every time. There's always a bent Stacy does a crazy job almost every day of the week has something entertainment for you if you want to learn more I think there's a YouTube interview interviewing Stacy I'm the owner of Stacy's at Melrose and he goes over a lot of stuff about their bar in the history and it just makes you love the bar even more my recommendation check out Stacy's at Melrose it's probably the best bar on the 7th Ave stripped area and you won't be disappointed because even though it is a gay bar and not that's not everybody's flavor it is just a welcoming space is kind of a look that you'll fall in love with a very easily and drinks that will get you messed up even faster read more

Wow what a bad experience. We live ONE STREET away and just wanted to stop by and grab a drink and the bouncer told my husband that he was "cut off" why?! Because we had a cigarette respectfully before entering the establishment? Because we live across the street and walked there and may have looked intoxicated to an uneducated eye because we were laughing and having a good time on our walk over? Super judgmental and rude and it's really sad because we live in the neighborhood and expected to be treated with respect as humans. Honestly will never go there again, such bad customer service. I've never written a review but I felt compelled after embarrassingly being turned down by an asshole bouncer. Please reconsider before trying this place, Charlie's is better by a long shot. Also - there are way more, better atmosphere places in the area. Sucks because we went there once before and the bartender was amazing. Nice space but super loud (patio was better if you're trying to talk to someone). Drinks were expensive and SUPER weak. I orderd a vodka soda and it tasted like pure soda with a tiny thimble of vodka or $8 or $9. When I ordered again, I ordered a double and it was better (also twice as much) but at least I could taste the vodka this time. Was YELLED by a person Who identified himself as the owner for parking and dropping off people out of my car in a wheelchair parking spot I have plates that a wheelchair identified on the front and back of my car he never looked yelled at me saying I'm despicable for doing this he had no clue that I may have been going in I wasn't but if a owner of a club is going to yell at somebody in this manner I would not recommend this bar club or establishment for anybody to go to at all if the owner is going to Yell at people who are dropping paying customers off at his place. Pretty cool space and something different, which Phoenix needs desperately. I have been here a couple of times and here are a few things that I have noticed. 1. The bar staff can be hit or miss. I have been there when Ron is working and he pays the best attention to all of his customers. But this past Saturday I was there around 12:30pm, the bar had about 3 people working and it took them a while to get to us. I also had to tell the bartender 3 times what I had ordered. 2. The MUSIC...It looks like some people commented earlier that the music was too low but the 2 times I have been there the music has been so LOUD. This place is not a huge space so the music really shouldn't have to be that loud. I love the idea of this place being a space where you can go and dance but when you can't hear your friends when you go to hangout them maybe it can be worked on. I am gonna try it out a couple more times because like all new places, it takes time to iron out the kinks! read more

He's is a rags-to-riches story in the making! Having said all that, Stacy's @ Melrose is a tribute to just how much Stacy cares. This place is awesome! Kind of dark, kind of sexy without being tacky or garish or lude like so many of the other creepy bars in this town. This place is a cut above the rest and competes with another big name, Charlies (or as the gays here call it, "Charlenes" lol). And it just keeps on getting better and better. First there was only the front porch to have a cocktail and a smoke. Then the back patio opened up, then there was a bar on that patio... and now there's food from a portable food van out back? How freaking cool is that?! The sunken dance floor speaks for itself, and the bartenders are very sweet, very amiable. For me the best time to be there is on a Sunday night, not just because of the $1 well drinks, but because of the retro 80's mixer music. Love that stuff. Love Stacy. Love the crowd. Love the staff. When I need to represent my peeps I go here. The dance floor is the best amongst all of the LGBT venues in Phoenix/Scottsdale and to top it off they keep it clean. Someone breaks a glass, poof the mess is gone like it didn't exist. Also what stands out is the owner Stacy. He goes out of his way to say hello to everyone, and does not seem aloof like many other bar owners. Crowd is mixed, varied, and the patio has heaters for the winter. Drink selection is good, plenty of stuff on tap. I'm proud to see my business go to such a great place. Last, but not least I've never seen a cheezoid bar fight here.
