We came to Kobalt for an event, so I am not sure what it's like normally, but it was a ton of fun and a great crowd. The bartenders were friendly the whole night despite being super busy. There's a HUGE patio that would be perfect for enjoying nice weather. I don't think they have food but there are a lot of places to eat right around it. My only suggestion would be a drink menu of some sort! I never know what to order when there's not a drink menu. read more

Didn't have any food, but we had some great drinks and the service was great. Went there for my first drag show and it was a total blast. We all had a great time and the show was so awesome. I came on a Thursday, the wait staff/bartenders were very attentive and kind. The bathroom has the sink and mirror outside of the toilets and I am not sure WHY i like that so much? There isn't any food but the Sage Advice drink certainly hit the spot aa a gin lover. Little heavy on the kiwi (and maybe lime) for me but still delicious. I came here with a large group for Wednesday night comedy. They had some really funny stand ups! They have a covered patio with an outside stage as well as inside seating. It's more than a drag show, they have all kinds of performers (singers, burlesque, etc.) They have many other shows and events but that's the one I frequent the most. The bartenders are cool, but the karaoke DJ is the WORST. He reorders the song queue, so he can sing multiple songs before you even sing one song. And when you try to queue multiple songs (since there's 20 people in the queue), he purposely skips you since you've already sang once. If you're trying to do karaoke, go to any other karaoke bar, because this DJ is so awful, and his voice sucks. Go to Grape Vine instead. read more

Went to Kobalt tonight for trivia the host was great and trivia was very fun. My partner waited at the bar in the well for 20 minutes was never acknowledged. We finally grabbed a table and waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to come over. They also have numerous flags representing the LBGT plus community with the exception of the Bi flag. Being Bi I'm used to being under represented in the community but clearly it's an exclusion at Kobalt. read more

Do not buy tickets for the Rupaul events! One you buy them you are on your own and outta luck if you need to speak to someone regarding the tickets. No response in weeks even after sending around 5 emails. I even emailed the bar to ask who to reach out to and nothing. They sure took my money for the event in a matter of minutes. Kobalt has been one of my favorite bars in the valley for a long time! Abel is a great bartender and the shows they have here are amazing!!! HOWEVER most recently i went and was appalled by the bartenders behavior. The twink with the mullet had charged me $14 then give me $4 in change from a twenty. So clearly math isn't his strong suit. i waited for the other bartender to be free, she charged me $6 for the beer and $8 for a jamie shot with a coke back!! - $14 third round i waited for pretty lady but got serve by mullet twink again :( $18 for the same drinks miss pretty just charged me $4 less for!!!! and his pour was way off. missing at least a half oz. i bartend too. then he tried to tell me the difference was in the coke... like why are you charging me for soda??? you weirdo. so yeah avoid the gay with a mullet if you don't want to be ROBBED read more

This is a 3 star bar. It's not that staff is non-friendly. It's that they are indifferent. 2nd time I've come to this bar and couldn't get a drink. Again it's not that the staff isn't friendly. We drove far to come experience this place last night. There was an amazing karaoke singer and it was her birthday (maybe 21st bday!) so my girlfriend and I asked the bartender to send her a drink and the bartender was trying to be cute and told us we should go over and talk to her at the table. We were extremely uncomfortable because obviously we were a couple and a conversation really didn't need to be had with a stranger just to do something nice for her birthday. They had a table of about 10-15 people. So we just asked if she could find out what she was drinking and have that drink sent over to her. She said they all work as a team and that because she didn't know her drink she couldn't make it happen. Finally we got the attention of another bartender who said he was their bartender and KNEW exactly her drink and made it happen! What followed with Kat was shameful and absolutely unprofessional. Kat began to wink at me making me even more uncomfortable and then got extremely rude with my girlfriend and when my girlfriend started asserting herself for the position she was putting us in she got more antagonizing and just weird. She started coming over and asking us if we needed anything "friends". My girlfriend thought she'd just nip it in the butt to end it and apologized for any misunderstandings and Kat responded by telling her that in Arizona people are just friendly and at even one point she referred to her as "Ms. Los Angeles". Completely juvenile behavior. Both of us were completely upset and left early. I'm assuming she may have been the head bartender by her egotistical comments to my girlfriend. I am native to Arizona and have lived here my entire life, never have I had such a terrible uncomfortable experience from someone who is suppose to be giving a person costumer service. Especially after we tipped 50%. To top it off she went out of her way to find me on Facebook and asked to add me. She took my information from my visa card and decided it would be appropriate to add me to her Facebook THE FOLLOWING day. No, we can't be friends.... I have included pictures of my response and her response and then blocked her. (There is also a video I included from the end of the night but I think it's under the video section) Watch your girlfriends around this one ladies! Kat if you are reading this please learn from this experience. After all, a mistake is only a mistake IF you learn from it. You mistook our hoodies for something else on a Saturday night. Came for the drag show on Saturday night and stayed for a great time at karaoke. Drinks are reasonably priced - service was as good as any busy Saturday night bar and people were welcoming. What a joke I am here for bingo. Ordered a coke no liquor, price $3.25 mabe an 10 ounce glass at best. When I requested a refill was information it would be another $3.25. It's coke it cost them pennies. I realize it's a bar they sell liquor but I'm here for bingo I probably will not return. I took my mom to 4some Revue on Friday for her 60th birthday. And it was a BLAST. Let me start off with our server. I didn't get his name, but he was AMAZING. He appeared to be the only one in the place, leaving him extremely busy with a full house. But he never left me feeling neglected. He always had a smile on and made me laugh like I haven't laughed in years. The queens, oh lawd the QUEENS. They were FIERCE. They put on an excellent show and we seriously loved every single second. To the queen with the red hair who got down on the floor: girl you are AMAZING. Not even a little wardrobe malfunction can stop you. And when it happens, girl you put your crown back on and keep going because you are a QUEEN. The bartenders were busy AF, but they were hustling. Not a bad place for karaoke on stage. Very nice people even though it's packed, they will still have room to accommodate in a good attitude with a smiling face. Loved the hilarious DJ. I've never had a worse customer service experience than I had at Kobalt tonight. My wife and I reserved a table tonight for the drag show and when we got to the club and gave our name to the bouncer he said we were not on the list and refused to look at our reservation confirmation. He said there "wasn't much he could do" and proceeded to seat us at the bar and told us he would try and get his boss to help. We never heard from anyone after that and it took us several attempts to even get the bartender to serve us. We now have to file a dispute with our credit card company to try and get back the $35 we paid for our table reservation. This is our first time coming here and we will never come back. They should be ashamed of how they handled this situation. read more

I don't understand why this place was so quiet. Tucked into the retail and business space, Park Central, Kobalt delivers a comfortable karaoke experience bound to entertain your friends. Seriously, people were singing literally the entire time, and that's what it's made for. The bar itself is a narrow hallway with a counter on one side and some tables for the main attraction on the other. I thought it was getting cramped, as it's tough to walk past people with this layout. That would have irritated me had Cat, the awesome bartender, not taken such great care of us all. Prices are more than fair. The patio is great. Everyone is friendly. Someone sang an obscure Disney Musical and I was his biggest fan. I went here for karaoke a couple of times. The mics don't really work and the DJ likes to hog the show by getting on stage for almost everyone's song (no matter how well they're doing), but the singing is intensely good, the bar has a good vibe, and the prices are good. I think they fog I'd definitely recommend it but would warn people that the singing is way better than at other karaoke bars and they won't really get their chance to shine (or sink, haha) because nine times out of 10 they'll be sharing the stage with the DJ. read more
