IMHO We chose Stacks as a last resort. It was Labor Day Monday and many places were closed along the avenue. We arrived one hour before they closed and we were warmly welcomed. We had our choice of comfy booths and perused a large menu! I ordered my favorite sandwich, a BLT, with choice of sweet potato fries or shoestring fries, $17.25. It was also served with a small salad, small fruit bowl and half pickle slice. Real bang-for-your-buck here! My portion was so big that I brought home leftovers for dinner. My friend ordered the full stack of Carnitas Pancakes, $17.50, homestyle pancakes topped with slow roasted carnitas and syrup. She loved the savory and sweetness of this platter! Service was exceptional, friendly and genuine! Will I return? Of course! Who doesn't love a great American breakfast! Tip: If you're going to the restrooms, the bathroom codes are listed on the restaurant's back exit door, then take the elevator DOWN. There's a teeny tiny arrow on the elevator's exterior down button...

Came here for niece birthday brunch! We had a group of 13 and have to give a holler to our server! I would say it's your average brunch place and couldn't really boast about the food. I got chicken fried steak and egg with side order pancake. My chicken fried steak was dried. My egg ordered medium was still too runny for me. I'm ok with the yoke just not the egg whites being runny. Then my pancake came out cold. So ask for a new on and it saved the morning for me.

Food portions were really big, the tables were not greasy, we got seated right away and the waitress was very friendly and said hi, it looks like there's a restroom in the back, prices are a little bit high but what do you expect in Menlo Park? I definitely think the food is better here than at McDonald's across the street. they should turn on the open sign to get more customers. if you like looking at the street, it's a wonderful view

Good food, decent prices and hefty serving size. The first time I went, I had the Corned Beef Hash House with scrambled eggs, which comes with a plain bagel. Last week a few of us dined inside and had a wonderful waiter named Mario or Marco. He was a pleasure during our dining experience. This time I ordered the Canitas and Onions Skillet. It was tasty, but they only had one chunk of carnitas, so I only enjoyed it the second day as leftovers. My lunchmates had the California Eggs Benedict and the other had Frech Toast with a side of bacon and maple syrup (extra is charged for the syrup). Both of them devoured their food. Here's What I Think... I'll be back again.

What I had ordered was really good! My friends who were with me ordered other items off the menu and agreed their food was really good as well. The waiter was kind and friendly earning his tip for waiting on us.

Service was pretty fast even it was busy. Serving size was just right. We got a mimosa flight to share and the kiwi flavor was my favorite. I ordered a bacon&onion skillet and my bf ordered a traditional breakfast sandwich. We both enjoyed our food and were pretty satisfied.

Are they still open during Shelter in Place?

I don't think so. I tried calling this morning (Monday) at about 9:30 and it just rang and rang and no one picked up and it didn't go to voicemail. Eventually I gave up and ordered my takeout from the Redwood City location.

When we arrived, Sarah had thoughtfully arranged a table for us with a heater. Even with the heater, it was still a little chilly, so we asked whether we might be able to move inside. Since it was a busy evening, there were no indoor tables available, but Sarah assured us that she would move us inside as soon as one opened up. After we finished our appetizer, Sarah came over with a wonderful surprise--she had prepared an indoor table for us. This was the first time I had seen a restaurant host care so genuinely about her guests' comfort. Sarah was warm, attentive, and true to her word, even though the restaurant was very busy. Her exceptional hospitality made us feel truly welcomed and turned an ordinary dinner into a memorable experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and we will definitely return to Café Vivant.

I remember Camper being on the Michelin guide, so I had suggested the place for us to try. I made reservations just in case -- you never know how busy Saturday brunch gets. Looked like I didn't have to sweat it as there was ample seating when we arrived. Pretty cool restaurant concept. They really leaned into the camping aesthetic. Earthy tones, paddles as decor, and the bathroom stalls reminded me of public restrooms at campsites (in the cleanest way possible, of course). I even noticed the casual flannel the host wore to match the vibe. Overall customer service was good. Our server was delightful, and I appreciated her genuine excitement of us trying Camper for the first time. She was very proud of our food choices. That said, I did find that the food took a bit of time to arrive at our table. We only ordered entrees, and there was a handful of parties while we were there who were already eating. Not sure what was up with the delay, BUT after eating the food I recognized that you can't rush perfection... My husband ordered the blue ribbon cheeseburger, and I got their basket of famous fried chicken. My husband boldly claimed that Camper's blue ribbon cheeseburger was the best burger he's had in 2026. I wholeheartedly agree. I can't begin to describe how delicious the burger was, and it had the simplest ingredients: bun, burger patty, gruyere cheese, and onion jam. Loved the shoestring fries and homemade dips of garlic aioli and ketchup. This dish will singlehandedly bring us back to Camper. My basket of famous fried chicken was solid. In my mind I was expecting more of buttermilk fried chicken, but it was more in line of popcorn fried chicken. Loved that they used chicken thighs, so every bite was flavorful and moist. The dill ranch was the right complement to the chicken, and I was obsessed with their coleslaw. Basically inhaled it. Camper doesn't skimp on the chicken, so I found this to be a hefty dish with plenty of chicken to enjoy at home.

The menu was a bit of a challenge for me personally, since I'm not big on sheep or goat cheeses and a lot of dishes lean that way, so take my main course review with a grain of salt. I ordered the gnocchi and found it fairly bland. The corn bread appetizer and both salads (tomato and green) were excellent, though, and the rest of my table raved about their burger and risotto, so I think I just picked the wrong dish. My main hesitation is the price. Almost $40 each for the gnocchi and risotto felt steep, even for downtown Menlo Park. Great food overall and a fun spot, but the combination of a so-so main course (my choice, not necessarily the kitchen's fault) and the price point is why I'm landing at 4 stars instead of 5.

It is tucked along El Camino Real in Menlo Park near the border with Palo Alto. It has a nice dark ambiance and it was a full house when we went, which is a good sign given the high price. The interior was quite intimate. We ordered so much food, that I forgot the names of everything we ordered. All of the food was really good and had a strong flavor thanks to the curry sauces that accompanied them. Even without the curry, it had a very strong "wood-fired" taste. The food was presented pretty decently and came out promptly. All of the food are served family style. Desserts were excellent, and I had the frozen shrikhand, which was recommended by our server. The service of the other wait staff were decent. Though I did not drink that night, they also offered wine pairings for both main courses and desserts. For appetizers, we ordered the Green Grape Chaas (Buttermilk) Panipuri, and it was incredible, a little sweet and a little sour. We also ordered the Eylan Crispy Chicken. The chicken was well seasoned, but the breading was as thick as regular fried chicken. The house aioli was a star; a little spicy, tangy (perhaps from tomatoes), and spices, just delicious! For mains, we ordered the Yakni Pulao, which had a tender chicken drumstick with extremely aromatic rice. Besides that, the mutton kathi roll, the paratha and chicken, and the chicken pot pie in what looked like a makhani sauce were all delicious. For drinks, I got the "Not a trace," which was so refreshing and an excellent palate cleanser as we went through the different dishes. The dessert, though, was the highlight! Firstly, the plating was excellent! The frozen shrikhand was unlike anything I had tried before! The shrikhand looked like a slab of ice cream. Although it was slightly icy and grainy, it was extremely fruity and tart, with cashew toffee caramel. It was just perfect. But my favorite was the Indian milk cake ice cream. While milk cake is a mundane-looking yet delicious sweet, Eylan took the creative liberty of turning it into an ice cream that looked interesting and also had a flavor that literally left me dumbfounded! The ice cream was smooth, with nuts to bite, caramelized milk, and literal smoky afternotes. This could sound vague on paper, but it came together exceptionally well! For food this good, the service was a bit of a letdown for a restaurant that was barely busy. It was exceptionally slow.

We went at the perfect time before the dinner rush and were greeted by our waiter Dylan. He was quick to answer our questions and offered great recommendations. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich with air fried fries and a pepperoni pizza. I also got a iced matcha horchata. Buffalo chicken sandwich tasted great with not an overpowering vinegar taste but also had that wonderful classic Buffalo wings flavor. The bread was very soft and the coleslaw was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the freshness of it. The fries were very dry and hard to be honest, I'll probably get a salad instead of those next time. The pepperoni pizza was a thin crust and not overly oily and cooked to perfection. No burnt crust or lava temperature cheese. Every bite was a joy. The iced matcha horchata was pretty much just a matcha latte lol. I did not taste any horchata flavoring at all. Not bad if it was just labeled a matcha latte but I probably won't get it again. Overall my visit was enjoyed and I look forward to exploring what the other items on the menu are like. Despite the shortcomings of the fries and the lack of horchata flavoring in my horchata drink I would still say my meal was rather enjoyable. On top of that our server Dylan was outstanding. I came here for date night, and by the end of the meal, I was already telling all my girlfriends they NEED to come here for their next special occasion. Flavor, service, wine, ambiance, menu... everything was top notch. This is officially on the special dinner rotation. We opted for the discovery menu since it was our first time, and as suckers for a good set menu, we were SO happy with the decision. I genuinely loved the experience and am already plotting my return to reorder favorites and try more of the menu. The must-reorders: Coal-kissed cherry tomatoes: These came out first and genuinely rocked my world. The black garlic sauce altered my brain chemistry. I am not exaggerating. Swordfish katsu: Served slider-style on the discovery menu, and I LOVED it. Our server mentioned this format is exclusive to the discovery menu, which honestly makes me a little sad because I want to order it like that again. Rouge de Bordeaux milk bread: As someone who loves all things bread and carbs, this was one of my favorites. Perfectly soft and fluffy, with rich butter and flaky salt. Grilled Brandt Farms prime beef striploin: So juicy, tender, and perfect medium rare. Caramelized pistachio financier: As a pistachio hater I only realized there was pistachio upon writing this review. I'm surprised. The discovery menu was a great way to experience a variety of flavors and see how creative the kitchen gets with its pairings. The only dishes I'd personally pass on next time were the Hokkaido scallop shooter, which had a more intense seafood flavor than I prefer, and the piel de sapo melons & peaches. I'm a five-year-old when it comes to fruit -- I love my fruit as is, not savory. Neither was really my thing, but taste is personal! We skipped the wine pairing and ordered glasses individually instead, which was a fun way to mix things up and explore different wines throughout the meal. I also suspect it worked out a bit cheaper than the pairing. The wine selection was great, and the staff made the whole experience feel thoughtful and seamless. The ambiance is intimate and vibesy in the best way. Definitely somewhere I'd save for a date night, anniversary, birthday, or any occasion where you want dinner to feel a little extra special. Service was superb, and the entire meal felt like an experience rather than just going out to eat. Fair warning: this is definitely a splurge. But for the creativity, incredible flavor combinations, wine selection, and level of service, I personally think it's worth it for a special night out.
