This is my second time here, I think they only offer outdoor seating. In my opinion, I love their outdoor seating. It is very relaxing and open. Not to mention all the florals they have hanging off of the ceiling. Food is always delicious and comes out relatively quickly. Can't forget to mention super picture perfect. The chicken sausage was not salty, which I loved. The pancakes were moist, but I definitely had to ask for extra syrup lol. They do a great job whether you're feeling salty and savory or sweet!! My friends loved their food, and the mimosas. The Biscoff latte just tasted like a regular latte which I'm not mad at. Servers are always attentive and worst case you can pull one since they're always walking around.

I've heard soooo many amazing things about this wonderdous place, it always looks so whimsical online! I had to get my favorite Aunt and Niece some of this delicious tasting breakfast! I ordered take out from a very friendly and nice Asian lady, but she had a very thick accent. I only mentioned the accent because I guess she didn't comprehend what I was saying. I wanted to ordered scrambled eggs on my Salmon Benedict, so my 3 year old niece and 1 year old nephew could share and eat the same things as my Aunt (their Grandma) and I were going to eat. I looked over the receipt and saw I was charged $7 for scrambled eggs! At least within my take out bag, was also the two poached eggs, so my Aunt ate those, but I didn't want the poached eggs, I merely wanted scrambled eggs on top of my egged Benedict. This way my niece and nephew could eat them, too. Ugh- oh well, we got extra eggs for tomorrow or another meal! Hee. Overall my smoked salmon was mouthwatering delicious! My niece LOVED her mini mouse pancakes! My Aunt loved her Frisco scramble and everything was fine, minus me getting charged $7 for a "side" of scrambled eggs I didn't realize I was ordering.....

My sister suggested this place for lunch. The restaurant looked busy but we managed to find a parking spot right away. We came a bit before 11am and beat the rush. I think it's outdoor dining only. It is a cute place and I loved the purple flowers hanging down from the ceiling. I ordered Tofu omelette with rainbow potatoes and bread ciabatta. Omelette was pretty bland and I just used Tabasco to add some flavor. Loved the butter on the bread, it was lightly sweet. I also ordered Into the Forest Drink with Cute Bear. Delicious and cute. Unfortunately my husband found a piece of long hair in his eggs. We informed the waitress and she offered a new plate right away. I like that you can bring your dogs too. I saw a few customers with their small dogs. I'd be open to try a different dish next time. Hopefully with my puppy!

This is a girls dream, a cute aesthetic photo op brunch spot. Food is pretty, but overpriced for what it is. Food is not bad but also not exceptional. They do get really busy on the weekends so go early if you can. The service is good. Drinks are pretty and a nice place for a celebration. We sat outdoors on the patio and did have a bee that kept flying over to our table. Other than that, it's a cute brunch spot.

Came back for a friend's birthday brunch and enjoyed the food way more than I did compared to my last visit a couple years back!! We had a reservation for 8 people and split into two groups to do family style. My group of 4 ordered three items and they were all delicious: Son & Garden Omelet - Everything it came with was so good. I felt like the Parmesan cheese in the omelet really complimented all of the different ingredients. The blueberry scone and potatoes were both cooked nicely too. Bibimbap - This comes with a huge fried chicken. The chicken could have been juicier and used less batter. The rice was really flavorful and had a slight kick to it. Ricotta Pancakes - Yum! I always appreciate getting to eat both savory and sweet foods during brunch. This one is perfect to share with others. So glad that the food was just as good as the ambiance this time. Previously I would not recommend this place, but would now recommend it :)

Son & Garden feels like stepping into a dreamy garden in the middle of Palo Alto. The entire space is beautifully designed with floral details everywhere -- it's easily one of the most aesthetic brunch spots in the area. The presentation of the food is stunning. Every dish looks like it was made for photos, but it actually delivers on taste too. The drinks and desserts were especially memorable -- light, fresh, and not overly sweet. It's definitely more of an experience-driven place, so expect it to be on the pricier side. But if you're going for a cute brunch, a girls' day, or content creation, it's 100% worth it. Service was friendly, though it can get busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation. Overall, if you're in the Bay Area and want a brunch spot that's both visually beautiful and enjoyable, Son & Garden is a must-visit.

I had a great experience here at brunch with girlfriends on Valentine's Day. We saw some families getting brunch together too, and a party of little girls having a girls brunch or birthday party or something. Very sweet to see. Highly recommend sitting on the outdoor patio as well. I would say the food was pretty good/solid. Some of it was better at the aesthetics than flavor. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs, so I was pleased to learn that they could make the tofu omelette for me without eggs. Instead, it was more of a tofu stir fry with cubed tofu, sun-dried tomato, spinach, cauliflower, and quinoa. It was solid, and a good option if you're in my situation. Very very heavy on the sun-dried tomatoes, so make sure you like that flavor! I was disappointed that they served it with salad instead of potatoes; maybe the potatoes are not vegan? I didn't ask, and I'm sure they would have brought me potatoes instead if I really wanted them, so this is more my fault. My friends absolutely loved their omelette, ricotta pancakes, and gorgeous cookie butter latte special. The wait stuff was kind and helpful, and helped me and my friends take a picture in front of one of their many cute photo displays.

We went there for a late Sunday lunch and there was still a line. Luckily we were seated quickly in 5min. We got their signature Son & Garden omelette and Smoked Salmon Benedict. Both came with roasted potatoes and fruit slices. The Son & Garden omelette had pork sausage, mushroom, peppers, asparagus and so on, and had quite a lot of flavors! It was also topped with a generous amount of parmesan cheese slices. The roasted potatoes were quite good to my surprise! They were nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The restaurant shared patio space with a Thai restaurant. The inside was decorated colorfully. It was also conveniently located near downtown Menlo Park with garage parking available nearby. It

We came here for lunch and overall the place has a decent, relaxed vibe that works well for a casual meal. We started with drinks and breakfast items. The mimosa flight looks great for Instagram photos, but taste-wise it was just average. The tiramisu latte was fine but felt overpriced for what it was. We ordered a few different Benedicts, including the smoked salmon Benedict, which was disappointing. The salmon tasted fishy and really affected my appetite. One of our friends ordered a Coffee Cloud, but the drink never arrived even though it still appeared on the bill, which was frustrating. For the atmosphere, I'd give this place 3 stars, but the food quality is closer to 2 stars. Based on this experience, I probably won't be coming back.

A group of friends and I came here to celebrate a bridal shower. This was definitely the perfect place - beautiful floral decorations, large outdoor seating area, and instagrammable drinks. 4 of us ordered the ricotta pancakes ($18.95) and opted to make it a "complete meal" by adding 2 eggs and a choice of protein (additional $10). The food was so delicious! The scrambled eggs and pancakes were so fluffy. The chicken sausage was plated on top of jam and at first I was a little suspicious, but it was the perfect pairing! The restaurant was kind enough to let us bring in our own cake for the celebration, but beware they charge $2.50 per person.

Son & Garden is incredibly Instagrammable, from its floral, pastel decor to its beautifully presented food and drinks. Every dish and drinks you'll want to take a picture of and you'll want to try just about everything on the menu. The food is good but definitely on the pricey side, and it gets very crowded, particularly during brunch hours. Overall, it's a great spot for fun photos, creative cocktails, and a lively vibe, as long as you're ready for the crowds and the splurge. Street parking is available, but could get difficult to find during lunch hours or weekends. The restaurant is directly next to Caltrain, which is very convenient. Overall, Son & Garden is perfect for a celebratory brunch, a girls' day out, or anytime you want great photos, fun drinks, and a lively atmosphere, but just be prepared for the crowds and the splurge.

First time at Son & garden! Their menu is so fun and a bit of a fusion, which is one of my favorite types of food. I ended up getting a ricotta pancake with a bubbly drink. Although you can tell that they put a lot of effort to decorate, since the train was right in the back and we were sitting outside, we had to pause our conversation here and there to wait in the train to pass.

I had such a great experience at this brunch spot! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxing weekend meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. The food was the real highlight. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The crabby omelette was cooked perfectly, the french toast was crispy , and the portions were generous without feeling overwhelming. I especially loved their korean benedict that was garnishedwith pickle onion-- you can really tell they put care into every detail. The drinks were cute and creative. Overall, it was an excellent brunch experience from start to finish. I'd definitely come back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable brunch!

The space is sleek, modern, and light-filled, making it a perfect spot to gather with friends for lunch or evening drinks and bites. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Deviled Eggs: A must-order appetizer! Topped with tobiko/caviar, crispy shallots, and chives, they are incredibly creamy with a nice pop of texture and savoriness. Korean Fried Chicken Wings: Crispy, perfectly glazed in a sweet-and-spicy sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. Served with a cool dipping sauce that balances out the heat wonderfully. Tacos (Carnitas & Shrimp): Both taco options were served on warm, fresh corn tortillas topped with pickled red onions, cilantro, and served with a side of slaw and spicy salsa. High quality and super flavorful. Roasted Cauliflower: A gorgeous mixture of purple and white cauliflower tossed with a rich green pesto and drizzle of spicy red pepper sauce. A phenomenal vegetable side with a great kick. French Fries: Golden, crispy, well-seasoned, and served in a massive bowl--perfect for sharing across the entire table. Overall: Excellent presentation, generous portions for small plates, and a super welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for creative craft cocktails or grabbing a bite with a group near campus, Horsefeather delivers. Highly recommended!

Definitely a family style dinner, order multiple things to try! Made a reservation couple weeks in advance for a week night dinner for 2. Celebrated our anniversary and couldn't be more happy we came to Ethel's Fancy. Service was great, everyone was friendly and explained the menu and process. Helped making some personal recommendations and the food came out quickly. The only dish that came out very slowly was the dessert, we did wait about 25 - 30 minutes just for the softserve, but all other dishes came out in a moderate time. Rouge de Bordeaux Milk Bread, comes with cultured amazake butter and some salt. Comes out super warm, puffy, and soft. Very nice pull and the butter is super decadent. Very great take on a japanese shokupan, we were hesitant at first, but it makes for a good appetizer 5:5 Warm Sesame Pancakes were like those mini sesame mochi pancakes at chinese dim sum, but the texture was slightly airy. The sauce to accompany it was unlike anything i've had, smoked trout, avocado and yuzu. The avocado was not over powering and the cream on top was whipped. Amazing pairing. 5/5 Sashimi of Kanpachi, japanese cucumber salad as the base and dressing with the kanpachi sashimi. I will say this was the weakest dish of the night. While still good, it was a bit too tart, it overpowered the other natural flavors. Fish was still very good, tender and not fishy, but again, over powered but all the tartness in the dish. 3/5 Yellowfin Tuna on sushi rice - this was a great shareable plate of upscale poke. The tuna was great, no fishy taste, perfectly seasoned and the smoked kira had an amazing pop of flavor. Very rich and decadent dish, absolutely loved the harmony of a slight smokey flavor to the nice rich, umami savoriness. 5/5 Crispy Caledonian Prawns - Absolute star of the night. We could not stop talking about these prawns. Big plump prawns, fried perfectly, where the prawn itself was not dry but the shell had a shatteringly crispy exterior definitely slightly coated with a starch to give it a nice crunch. The chili ramp sunomono was a great touch, not spicy at all but added a great touch of flavor that complimented the crispy prawns. Could devour plates of these! 6/5! Sword-Fish Katsu Style - A great take with sword fish, flakey but not overcooked, great thin crispy katsu. Accompanied by kumquat and cauliflower, helps cut down the greasiness. The sauce with it was a buttery tart sauce. This was a lot better where the tartness helped the fried fish. It was like eating a fried fish burger without the buns. I really enjoyed this one. 5/5 Lastly we ordered a softserve with peaches, shokupan croutons and a caramel dressing. We had to wait about 25 minutes just for the small softserve so we were a bit surprised as other dishes came out relatively quickly or in an orderly fashion. It still tasted great as a little small dessert but definitely was surprised by how long it took. 3/5 Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Ethel's and it definitely lives up to the standard it sets. I can't wait for other new dishes to try and come back in the future.

I have a severe tree nut allergy. Before ordering, I informed our server of my allergy and asked him to identify every dish that contained nuts so I could safely participate in our family-style business dinner. He assured me he would take care of it and specifically pointed out one dish that contained hazelnuts. Later, a golden beet dish was served to the table with no mention that it contained cashews. After taking a few bites, my tongue immediately began tingling. When I asked if the dish contained nuts, our server had to go back to the kitchen to check. He returned and explained that the dish did, in fact, contain cashews and that he didn't know they had recently been added to the recipe. This is exactly the type of mistake allergy protocols are supposed to prevent. Even after it was confirmed that the dish had triggered an allergic reaction, the plate remained on our table until I specifically asked for it to be removed. At the time, I was over six months PREGNANT and traveling alone for work. I had to take Benadryl, leave my business dinner early, miss the remainder of the evening with my colleagues, and spent much of the night vomiting, experiencing gastrointestinal distress, and recovering before a full day of meetings the next morning. I recognize that ingredient changes happen. What is unacceptable is failing to communicate those changes to the staff responsible for protecting guests with serious allergies. The next day, I immediately sent a detailed email to the restaurant's management and owner explaining what happened and asking what changes they planned to make to prevent this from happening to someone else. I never received a response even 2 months later. To make matters worse, I later learned they only removed the charge for the single dish that caused the allergic reaction, despite the significant impact the incident had on my evening, as well as my colleagues, and the obvious seriousness of the situation. I'm incredibly fortunate that my reaction did not progress to anaphylaxis. Another guest may not be so lucky. If you or someone you're dining with has a serious food allergy, I would think very carefully before eating here. A restaurant can make mistakes, but how it responds afterward (or shall I say lack of response) says just as much about its commitment to guest safety; and in my experience, that response was deeply disappointing.

Parking is available in the private lot or on nearby residential streets. Dining is available either inside the dining room, at the bar, or outdoors on the covered patio. Flea Street is featured in the Michelin guide. Our waitress was phenomenal the entire evening, being very sweet and attentive. She was quite talented too! ;) Meal started off with the complimentary biscuit, served with a side of beautiful butter, salt, as well as a piece of carrot. This was decent as the biscuit was merely lukewarm. The lamb chop as a snack was quite tasty. These were sold per piece and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The farmers salad, dungeness crab cake, as well as the cured trout small plates were all quite tasty. Loved how premium and light the farmer's salad was. The dungeness crab cake was super light and tasty too! The cured trout was excellent with the homemade potato chips! The cioppino was gigantic and perfect for sharing. It featured a ton of premium seafood, from clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp, as well as a couple pieces of black cod fish along with a few pieces of toasted bread! Finished off the meal with an apple galette which was tasty and served with a scoop of ice cream which was surprisingly a touch lacklustre... The meal ended off with a couple chocolate dipped strawberries. ~$130/head after 20% service charge and 3% employer benefits surcharge.

Our group came here for an early dinner, and we decided to share some bites and small plates to share: +the Cast Iron Corn Bread - prepared with rosemary, lemon, and smoked maple syrup; they use GF corn meal +Our Caesar Salad with Tempura Fried Sardines - prepared with little gem lettuces, Parm, and breadcrumbs; was a fan of the sardines! +Nana's Stuffed Artichoke - prepared with panko bread crumbs, garden herbs, Parm, lemon, and olive oil +and, the McFarland Smoked Trout - with marinated beets, frisee, truffle horseradish creme fraiche, and housemade potato chips For my main, I went for the Slow Braised Grass-Fed Short Rib - this was served with spring veggies, mashed potatoes, and a Zinfandel au jus; the short rib was tender, but wished there was more au jus that came with. Staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself is cozy and intimate; great for date nights or a little get-together. Wildseed restored my faith--and my spirit!…read more As someone who spent 30 years rolling out Zero Waste programs across the Bay Area, I've been feeling increasingly disheartened watching how much single-use and food waste has surged lately. With my mother currently at Stanford Hospital, I've been eating on the go constantly and witnessing this excess firsthand. Then came Brenya. This incredible young server didn't just bring me fantastic summer cuisine--she brought pure heart. When she served me an extra dish of Mexi corn fritters simply because she couldn't bear to see good food go to waste, it moved me deeply. Her empathy, thoughtfulness, and natural alignment with the Zero Waste spirit lifted my soul at a time I truly needed it. Bravo, Brenya, and bravo, Wildseed! You have a customer for life. I'll be back! XX

Everyone ordered different dishes so we could try a lot of things from the menu. 1/5 Athenian Eggplant - Far too sour and the flat bread was SO HARD. Even carb lovers didn't want to finish it. 4/5 Green Falafel - Came warm and the tzatziki sauce was pretty good. 4/5 French fries - Sauces were interesting. 1/5 Mushroom bao - ONE small piece of fried mushroom in each of the two baos that came out. It was stuffed with sour lettuce instead. 2/5 Corn pizza - That coconut mozz was not it for me. 3/5 Chicken sandwich - Solid. Drinks were good! What's up Doc was my fave. Located in the corner of the plaza next to CVS. Good service.
