Team bonding :)
Lincy H.

Came back for a friend's birthday brunch and enjoyed the food way more than I did compared to my last visit a couple years back!! We had a reservation for 8 people and split into two groups to do family style. My group of 4 ordered three items and they were all delicious: Son & Garden Omelet - Everything it came with was so good. I felt like the Parmesan cheese in the omelet really complimented all of the different ingredients. The blueberry scone and potatoes were both cooked nicely too. Bibimbap - This comes with a huge fried chicken. The chicken could have been juicier and used less batter. The rice was really flavorful and had a slight kick to it. Ricotta Pancakes - Yum! I always appreciate getting to eat both savory and sweet foods during brunch. This one is perfect to share with others. So glad that the food was just as good as the ambiance this time. Previously I would not recommend this place, but would now recommend it :)

A group of friends and I came here to celebrate a bridal shower. This was definitely the perfect place - beautiful floral decorations, large outdoor seating area, and instagrammable drinks. 4 of us ordered the ricotta pancakes ($18.95) and opted to make it a "complete meal" by adding 2 eggs and a choice of protein (additional $10). The food was so delicious! The scrambled eggs and pancakes were so fluffy. The chicken sausage was plated on top of jam and at first I was a little suspicious, but it was the perfect pairing! The restaurant was kind enough to let us bring in our own cake for the celebration, but beware they charge $2.50 per person.

Went on a Saturday around 11am. Caltrain is pretty loud when it passes by. Busy, but we didn't need to wait for a table. Ambience is vibrant, lots of birthday brunches were happening around. Food is fine. I'd come back to bring friends who haven't experienced it yet, but it's probably not a place I'd personally revisit otherwise.

We went there for a late Sunday lunch and there was still a line. Luckily we were seated quickly in 5min. We got their signature Son & Garden omelette and Smoked Salmon Benedict. Both came with roasted potatoes and fruit slices. The Son & Garden omelette had pork sausage, mushroom, peppers, asparagus and so on, and had quite a lot of flavors! It was also topped with a generous amount of parmesan cheese slices. The roasted potatoes were quite good to my surprise! They were nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The restaurant shared patio space with a Thai restaurant. The inside was decorated colorfully. It was also conveniently located near downtown Menlo Park with garage parking available nearby. It

Came here for my birthday brunch on a Friday morning and there was no wait. The menu has so many mouthwatering options. I ordered the Korean eggs Benedict, however there was no English muffin. Silly but the plate was massive and very rich so that would've helped a bit. I'd say order the sauce on the side because it is plentiful as is the meat. You can definitely share this plate! The outdoor seating was very nice with lots of heaters and the decor was charming with plants hanging from the ceiling. Parking was easy as it lines the side of the restaurant. I'm sure this might be different on a weekend morning so arrive early if you can!

We came here for lunch and overall the place has a decent, relaxed vibe that works well for a casual meal. We started with drinks and breakfast items. The mimosa flight looks great for Instagram photos, but taste-wise it was just average. The tiramisu latte was fine but felt overpriced for what it was. We ordered a few different Benedicts, including the smoked salmon Benedict, which was disappointing. The salmon tasted fishy and really affected my appetite. One of our friends ordered a Coffee Cloud, but the drink never arrived even though it still appeared on the bill, which was frustrating. For the atmosphere, I'd give this place 3 stars, but the food quality is closer to 2 stars. Based on this experience, I probably won't be coming back.

The food was excellent. We ordered two dishes, the bibimbap and the fried chicken Benedict. I enjoyed the mushroom Demi glacé and the eggs were nicely done. The potatoes were crisp and flavorful. The rice in the bibimbap was slightly overcooked which left it mushy but the flavor and the spice was good. I'd come back for the food but service was slightly lacking. It just didn't feel like the staff wanted to be there and more importantly, wanted me as a customer to be there. I'll be honest, it looked that way for most of the tables around us. To be honest it's an instagram or TikTok worthy video for the aesthetics alone - but not the culinary place you want to be where people truly care about service and food. If the service was amazing this place could easily be a 5 star for me.

Son & Garden is incredibly Instagrammable, from its floral, pastel decor to its beautifully presented food and drinks. Every dish and drinks you'll want to take a picture of and you'll want to try just about everything on the menu. The food is good but definitely on the pricey side, and it gets very crowded, particularly during brunch hours. Overall, it's a great spot for fun photos, creative cocktails, and a lively vibe, as long as you're ready for the crowds and the splurge. Street parking is available, but could get difficult to find during lunch hours or weekends. The restaurant is directly next to Caltrain, which is very convenient. Overall, Son & Garden is perfect for a celebratory brunch, a girls' day out, or anytime you want great photos, fun drinks, and a lively atmosphere, but just be prepared for the crowds and the splurge.

First time at Son & garden! Their menu is so fun and a bit of a fusion, which is one of my favorite types of food. I ended up getting a ricotta pancake with a bubbly drink. Although you can tell that they put a lot of effort to decorate, since the train was right in the back and we were sitting outside, we had to pause our conversation here and there to wait in the train to pass.

I had such a great experience at this brunch spot! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxing weekend meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. The food was the real highlight. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The crabby omelette was cooked perfectly, the french toast was crispy , and the portions were generous without feeling overwhelming. I especially loved their korean benedict that was garnishedwith pickle onion-- you can really tell they put care into every detail. The drinks were cute and creative. Overall, it was an excellent brunch experience from start to finish. I'd definitely come back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable brunch!

The ricotta pancakes were my favorite out of everything. It was fluffy and moist. The short rib in the korean benedicts was pretty dry, and the kimchi fried rice was mushy. Loco loco was alright, the wagyu beef patty was pretty juicy actually, but the rice was again mushy and I didn't love the gravy. Pretty cute inside, kinda reminds me of sweet maple

First time at Son & Garden was at this Menlo Park location for brunch with friends on Sunday, Augst 3, 2025. We had reservations for our party of six persons at 12:00 noon. After easily finding street parking on Oak Grove Avenue, about a minute or so walk to the restaurant, I arrived to my friends already sitting at our table. Son & Garden is known for their whimsical breakfast and brunch experiences, so I was looking forward to being immersed in a fairytale setting. Perhaps the location of our table was not in the most decorated area of the venue because all I saw was faux purple wisteria hanging from the ceiling. Never did I see any wall of flowers nor a blue velvet royal looking chair. Bummer. Although I missed out on the effervescent Instagrammable scenery, the place was still very genteel and clean. Son & Garden's menu focuses on morning eats like omelets & scrambles, benedicts, pancakes & french toast, plus lunch & drinks. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any frolicsome fancy beverages, either. Apparently, they skimmed down their menu, no longer serving most of the vibrantly unique offerings from days before. Second bummer. Everyone ordered their respective plates. Linda and I both ordered the Bibimbap ($24.95). I enjoyed the crispy Fried Chicken with the savoury Stone Pot Japanese Rice mixed with the yolk of the fried egg. Linda, on the other hand, didn't enjoy the dish as much, commenting on the "sweet" flavour that didn't seem to appeal to her. Service was nice and friendly. I wouldn't mind returning and ordering the Bibimbap again...with a virgin Coffee Cloud.

Our Food: We ordered the french toast and Biscoff Pancakes as our sweets. Both were fluffy and perfectly sweet. We also ordered the Monte Cristo and Chicken Pesto Sandwich. The Monte Cristo was okay, but the Chicken Pesto outshined it. The ciabatta bread is housemade and you can tell! Its perfectly soft and pairs super well with the garlic aoili and pesto sauce. The dalgona coffee looks amazing but is only okay, I'd maybe try something else. It is definitely Cafe style, where you order and pay at the counter first. While I never…read moremet the man, he has incredible taste, because Sweet Maple has the best breakfast food I've ever had in the bay area. Well worth the trip. The two of us were dubious about the Millionaire's Bacon, because it was hyped up to the point where it seemed unlikely that it could live up to the reputation. We were wrong. We ordered the Millionaire's Bacon sampler platter, which is four strips of long, thick pieces of bacon, baked with brown sugar and spices. There is the original, which is brown sugar, cayenne, red, and black pepper, which was sweet, salty, and the perfect amount of spicy. The other slices were orange, cinnamon, and rosemary. My partner enjoyed the orange best, whereas I loved the cinnamon, but we both thought the rosemary was underwhelming. The bacon itself was very thick and meaty with a minimal amount of fat, and was just clearly high quality pork. Truly worth the hype. We also got the bottomless mimosas, which not only had multiple choices of juice (we got raspberry lemonade) but were surprisingly heavy on the champagne. The waiter kept them coming without us needing to ask, to the point where I had to tell him I was done because I was a little too tipsy for breakfast. My partner got the chicken croffle, and was very impressed. I tried the fried chicken (though not the croffle) and it was very well spiced, very crunchy, and well cooked--juicy and tender. I got the big hip, which is deep fried "french toast". I wouldn't call it french toast myself, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with fresh fruit, butter, and syrup. There wasn't enough syrup for the entire dish, but I asked our waiter for more and he came back with it in less than a minute. On top of the food being as close to perfect as you can get, the service was great. Several different waiters checked in on us throughout the meal, making sure we were enjoying the food and that we didn't need anything else. The vibes of the restaurant are really enjoyable too. The décor is lovely, the sound levels are very reasonable, and everything was spotless during our visit. Overall, I can't recommend Sweet Maple enough, and I'm kind of glad it's not closer to my house because I would go bankrupt with the amount of Millionaire's Bacon I'd buy on a weekly basis.

There will be plenty of foot traffic going in and out of the restaurant. My dining companion and I settled in at the counter since the weather was a bit brisk today. Joanie's has been around long enough to wear its old-school vibe with confidence. The service is just fine. Nothing to complain about and nothing to tell write home about. It's a small enough place you are able to flag someone down if you needed something. We both ordered the "Joanie's Breakfast Medley" which includes French toast or two pancakes, two eggs any style, home fries, and your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, chicken-apple sausage, or ham) for $25.95. We added two coffees, because we are functioning adults who require caffeine to make decisions. The food was fine, it was what a Sunday breakfast should be. I had a bit of a sticker shock when I asked for the bill and saw that it was OVER $75 for two people at breakfast, with tax and tip. I sat there doing the math in my head the way you do when you're hoping the numbers will somehow rearrange themselves into something more palatable. They did not. Now, to be fair, I am fully aware that the cost of ingredients and labor has gone up across the board. I was just operating on an optimistic budget of maybe $60 which I now realize is one of those "back in my day" comments to bore the Gen Zs to tears. If you want a recommendation for something sweet, go straight for the Cherries, Berries and Mascarpone French Toast. The eggs benedict is a reliable choice too, if you're feeling classic. The restaurant is easy to get to as it is located at the corner of California and Ash Street, and there's a large parking structure right next door. Would I go back? Probably, yes. But I will be prepared so that the wallet shock doesn't catch me off guard again.
