I like the atmosphere. Very relaxing. The food was delicious and the server was really kind. 2-hour free valet parking. It's inside of hotel and it was a great surprise. :)

I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. Beautiful decor, ambient lighting, and an overall vibe. It is located inside the beautiful Hotel Nia, one of my favorite Autograph Collection hotels by Marriott. The Wagyu burger was a great choice and I really really enjoyed the unique offering of garlic fries instead of the traditional or truffle option. This really was a standout of the meal. The burger was flavorful and cooked to my desired temperature. Tommy's Margarita (not pictured) wasn't as tasty as I expected but it was still a solid tequila choice. The best part of the drink was the dried pineapple slice. My waitress even brought me extra at my request which I appreciated. Overall 9/10 experience. My server was nice and attentive.

Food was solid. Restaurant is beautiful. Located inside the NIA hotel, this is a well designed restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Although the outdoor patio is beautiful and dog friendly, they have a lot of yellow jackets flying around which are attracted to the food being served. Be careful if you chase these insects away when they hover around your table. Use your napkin, not your hand. Their stings can be painful, and if you are allergic to bee stings, I don't recommend outdoor seating unless you want to stab yourself with an EpiPen or take a trip to the ER. The yellow jackets leave when the sun starts to set, so if you are allergic and insist on sitting outside, wait until sunset. No self parking. Valet parking can be expensive but the first 2.5 hours are free if you are patrons of the restaurant. Staff are very courteous.

I came here for a birthday dinner about 2 months ago for a friend. We were a party of about 20 with reservations so we were seated immediately. Our server was great, very attentive but maybe a little overwhelmed. He did great regardless. There weren't many people in the restaurant and it's a beautiful restaurant. The food was fine. It wasn't spectacular but definitely decent . I had the spaghetti which could have used a bit more spices. My friend has salmon and enjoyed it but agreed that it could have been better. I would come back again as the prices were good too.

    Nice cocktails.

I routinely stay at the hotel Nia and this is the hotel restaurant, which is surprisingly good, if a bit over-priced. Still having a good restaurant in the hotel to do dinner at when you're getting home after a long day is definitely appreciated. My two go to dishes are the pan-seared salmon and the burger. I occasionally also get the squid-ink spaghetti with scallops as well. The salmon is usually my go-to and it's always well cooked with crispy outside, but tender inside. I really like the black lentil salad with the mustard sauce. The contrast of the strong, tangy mustard, salmon and lentils really works. The burger is much more traditional, but still great. It's got the artisanal bun, rich patty, and the toppings you'd expect along with a nice side of crispy fries. Definitely filling and also somewhat more sanely priced. I don't like the spaghetti with scallops as much as the others, but it's good for a break. It just doesn't stand out as much as the others. When eating with a few more people, I often like to get the blistered peppers and really enjoy them. They're not really spicy, which is a good and a bad thing, but super yummy with a bit of smoke, a tiny bit of heat and a lot of salt. The drinks are good as well. The cocktails are better than the beer selection. You can usually get a dry cocktail that's really good. The apple scotch sour is my go-to, but the spiced old fashioned is also good. I'm usually more of a beer than a cocktail person, but the beer selection here is just OK. They have a few local things, but nothing that stands out and they don't rotate them much. Also, it's definitely not a beer bar and you'll have to ask pointedly to find out more than the brewery and style, e.g., if you want to know exactly which the IPAs that the brewery makes you're drinking.

First of all, the ambience of the hotel and restaurant is a 10/10. Staff here are very friendly and customer oriented! The food was worth it! My favorite and what i recommend is the Steak Perigoux! Cooked to perfection! Will definitely come back here and bring the family!

    Chicken (room service)

This chicken is as terrible as it looks, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Chicken was tough, rubbery and flavorless, vegetables were undercooked and floating in cold broth. For $32, this is ridiculous and a scam. You'd be better off having a microwaved meal.

Lunch at Porta Blu is nice. The restaurant is located on Nia hotel. The decor is so nice and relaxing. The place is good for lunch with a group of friends getting together. Burger and Omelette are decent. The service is a little slow, but we got outdoor seatings with a nice view. So it makes up for the wait.

Don't miss Eggs Benedict with salmon! Great venue for breakfast / brunch gatherings. Modern and fresh interior design, team with great respect to alien traditions - e.g. we gathered with friends (7 ppl) to celebrate Orthodox Easter. Team was almost a part of our celebration, which is so precious! Also, the place is very spacious, wonderful outdoor area for kids' free play. Coffee was very good, classical Verve. Eggs Benedict served with salmon were the best part of my brunch -- sauce hollandaise was not too salty and not too intense, so did not dominate the flavor of the meal itself. Steak could be better. Mimosas were strong, cork popped for us - bubbly and good! Cheers, Porta Blu!

Are the Portuguese crab cakes available all day? They're not on the lunch menu at all, they're on the dinner menu as an entree, and they're on the lounge menu as a starter. Could you order them as a lunch starter if you're in the main restaurant?

Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. After checking in, we were informed that the entire party had to be present before we could be seated. While waiting, I ordered a drink at the bar and enjoyed the beautiful rooftop terrace. The deep cushioned seating, combined with views of Stanford University, the Woodside hills, and the surrounding skyline, created a memorable setting for a special occasion. The dining room is airy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The glass roof allows plenty of natural light without the harsh glare, making the space comfortable and inviting. The menu is fairly straightforward and not particularly unique, though prices are definitely premium. Sandwiches range from about $24 to $58, and the mini lobster or crab rolls are $20 each. For our group of five, we ordered three lobster rolls, lamb chops, two Caesar salads, two orders of oysters, honey-glazed salmon, sweet potatoes, truffle fries, a gem salad, and several drinks and glasses of wine. Unfortunately, neither the kitchen nor the table service lived up to expectations. Our starters arrived, followed by most of the entrees, but the kitchen completely forgot both Caesar salads. We asked about them twice. By the time they finally arrived, the salads were soggy and lacked the freshness you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. RH Rooftop delivers a stunning setting and is an undeniably beautiful place for a celebration. However, for a restaurant positioned as a luxury dining experience, I expected the food and service to match the spectacular surroundings. While everything looked impressive, the meal itself felt average and the service lacked the attention to detail expected at this price point. In the end, I left feeling that I had paid for the atmosphere rather than the dining experience.

I ordered the Dukes' martini with gin - on their menu, it says they have the "coldest martinis on the west coast" and it really was the coldest martini I've ever had, delicious too. They give you complimentary truffle popcorn, which was nice. For food, we ordered the mussels, chicken parm, and burger. Without us asking, they split the mussels so it'd be easier for my husband and I to share, which we appreciated. Both the chicken parm and burger were excellent, juicy and filling. We brought home leftovers. Our bartender/server Lawrence (who said he's been with Selby's since day 1!) was great - attentive and friendly. I'd like to come back to try the prix fixe menu as well!

I decided to go on a Thursday evening and sit at the Bar and Lounge instead of the dining room since the dining room has a set menu. I arrived at 5:30pm to find out that there was a 2 hour wait!! I was shocked, nothing special - father's day or anything. It turns out that since Chase has 2 $150 credits for dining at their selected restaurants and the first credit expires on June 30 and I went on June 26, everyone else had the same idea. We did not wait 2 hours and the hostess mentioned that if I came before they opened at 5pm, around 4:50pm, they may be able to either get me seated or the wait list would be shorter. The restaurant itself is on El Camino, between business but the front is beautiful and covered in ivy. They do not have parking, the building that they are in is shared by K&L Wine merchants and the parking is only for them not Selbys but they do offer complimentary valet, which is fast and efficient. I was going to go back on June 30, a Tuesday, but decided not to fight traffic on a weekday and ended up going on a Sunday instead, I arrived at 4:45 and there were already about 30 people in line, people showed to wait in line starting at 4:20pm. It was a hot day and not a pleasant wait but they open the doors promptly. It took time for the host to speak to each guest and discuss their options, this could have been faster. By the time I got to the front of the line, the wait list was 4 people deep and I was #5 and the wait was still an hour and a half. I decided to wait, there are 2 chairs in the lobby and fortunately I was able to snag one but they really should have more seating. They have a roof top but for reasons I did not understand and the hostess could not articulate properly, certain people were seated at the rooftop and others were not. I had been told over the phone that both bar and rooftop were available for walk ins. The wait ended up being an hour and I was seated at the bar with another person who was also dining by themselves, I had to tell the servers several times that were not together. You are immediatley greeted and the server pours you water and another brings out a small plate of truffle popcorn - delicious. They have an extensive wine list and serve cocktails as well. I ordered a glass of champagne. I took one star off for the lack of seating and for the pours, they were less than generous. When dining in the bar, you can order from the bar menu or the dining room menu. I decided to order from the bar menu. I got the plate of mussels and the black truffle burger. The mussels are $29 for a pound and that itself can be sufficient for a meal, it comes with a thick slice of toast to soak up the juices. I ended up not eating the burger but taking it to go. The burger was $55 and is served with fries. Both dishes were outstanding but a little salty. I also got the Pinot Noir Rose and it was better than the champagne. Service was great if not a bit delayed because they were very busy. Would I go back, probably if I did not have to fight the crowds to get in.
