Reposado is a classy Mexican restaurant located right in the heart of downtown Palo Alto. Despite having tried many restaurants in the area, we had never been here before and decided to visit for a special family occasion. Booking a table for three was seamless, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious--we ordered the enchiladas, the guacamole, and a quesadilla for the kids. The drinks were fantastic and perfectly strong, and our servers were incredibly attentive and friendly. It's also worth noting that they have a lot of large tables, making it a clear favorite for corporate groups from the surrounding tech offices in the evening. Hadn't been in quite some time. The last time I went I felt it wasn't quite as good as usual. I always order treated thing. The Caesar salad with chicken. It was good. My work did a dinner here for a table of 7 and we had a great time. There are people in our party who are very particular when it comes to Mexican food and they enjoyed it. The restaurant was great at accommodating dietary restrictions. They kept checking in on us. We all had drinks appetizers and entrées. No room for dessert. The food and portion size was wonderful. Price was $700 after tax and 20% tip they automatically added on for 7 people. Not bad for downtown Palo Alto! What a nice spot for a drink and a bite. It's a little more expensive than some of the other options around but quality is on point. I came for just a drink and a bite but ended up having two drinks and three bites as it was so good. I had Cadillac margarita -- very smooth, not too sweet, could appreciate the tequila -- and a Pacifico second. I enjoyed the shrimp empanadas -- crisp outside, lots of shrimp inside, nice salsa that accentuated it, the elite asado (get it on the cob!). Large portion, rich, just enough char. And the dates stuffed with chorizo and manchego , wrapped in bacon, and it was pleasantly balanced, not too greasy or rich. Yum. Service was great at the bar with Sergio. Very attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Great spot. Especially if you're lucky to stay across the street at the Cardinal. We ordered crepe, which was stuffed with crab and fish. This was good. The crepe was soft and the fish and crab tasted fresh and tasty. I wish there was more crab and less fish. It came with rice which was really yummy. The chicken salad was good too. The chicken was moist and tender and the veggies were fresh. The mango margarita was yummy. It had the right amount of alcohol and sweetness- very refreshing. The ambient was nice. There is a huge bar in the middle of the restaurant with transparent windows into the kitchen. I have no idea why this place has 3.6 stars. I would argue that Reposado is in my top 3 restaurants in Palo Alto. We started off with some chips with salsa and guacamole. I really enjoyed all of the sauces/dips. For my main, I ordered the crepas con mariscos and it was really yummy. The jasmine rice with roasted corn really complimented the crepes. Enjoyed the drinks (the drink menu leans, expectedly, heavy on tequila), and had a great conversation with our server about his recommendations - all of which were spot on. They have quite a few vegan option on the menu and I was pleasantly surprised with the variety! I asked if they could give me the fried tofu in the quinoa salad raw and the server said they could grill it--fantastic. A lot of places would not permit that and so I was thankful. I only detract a start because they use soybean oil and I would prefer they had a healthy & easy Frijoles de Olla on the menu instead of the refried beans made with oil. I hosted a ladies luncheon. ordered the Seafood Crepe and it was delicious!! All the ladies enjoyed their orders too! Sharing two of their dishes. The service was great, very responsive and the atmosphere was top notch. The restaurant is very clean and stylish. Parking was available just around the corner at the Civic center. kept seeing this location everytime I pass by Palo Alto and been wanting to try them. the place is neat and elegant. It has a chill vibe. The host was friendly to welcomed us and we were seated almost immediately. Our server was sweet and attentive. They have wine, margaritas and plenty of different cocktails and brews to choose from as well as varieties of food items that were interesting. We only wanted a couple of appetizers and some margaritas and thats what we ordered. we didn't wait long to be served our drinks and the appetizers followed shortly. And it tasted great! Imagine visiting a restaurant after 9 years and having a good or similar experience. We had another celebration and headed to Reposado to see if we got the same experience as before. I don't remember if the menu items are still the same but the Pollo mole was still on. My wife ordered it and she liked it. My daughter ordered the pibil and like it. And I ordered the rellanos and it was simple and good. The appetizers and drinks were served quickly and were actually good portion. At one point I was thinking if we should head out after the appetizers but we are glad we waited and allowed some time. The appetizers did their job as we did feel hungry to have the main course. This place is still expensive and for me it seems like a place to go to celebrate special occasions. read more

We were invited to a Friday evening dinner here and we were pleased with the food and the experience. We were expecting the place to be packed but much to our delight it was not. Two of our party of six came early and they were seated ahead of us which was nice. Our servers were attentive and kind. For starters we had the Home Made Guacamole which was excellent. It went well with their complimentary chips (a bit too salty for me) which was served with three types of salsa. We also had the Datiles Rellenos which are a couple of dates stuffed with chorizo and manchego cheese, wrapped in bacon and served with arugula radish salad drizzled with roasted tomato vinaigrette. I loved my Crepas con Mariscos which were a couple of house made blue corn crepes filled with fresh crab, shrimp and red snapper. Their menu says they use Chihuahua cheese and poblano cream sauce. On the side there is jasmine rice with roasted corn which lends some sweetness to the dish. All these flavors were delightful. I took a bite from my husband's dish which was this very tender braised short rib they call Costilla. I also got a bite of another friend's dish which was this tasty marinated pork dish called Cochinita Pibil. Wonderful food, great service, delightful ambience and convenient parking. This is one of the premier restaurants on Hamilton Ave, down town Palo Alto, specializing in Mexican. There is a modern open seating vibe with a long bar area. My colleague and I sat for an hour at the head of the bar enjoying a couple of cocktails until our party arrived for dinner. Pictured is the Tequila inspired Old Fashioned, which had distinctive Reposado tequila flavor with the orange and bitter of an old fashioned mixed drink. My curiosity is satisfied but I definitely prefer bourbon or whisky in my old fashioned. When our party arrived for dinner we were seated at a table near the front, next to the glass. This is a very expensive and not very authentic Mexican food restaurant.  Pro:  The restaurant is located in downtown Palo Alto. The ambience seem modern. Service is good and quick. Plate presentation is good. Cons:  Food in general is very expensive considering this is mexican food. The portions also small. What's worst is that the restaurant was super noisy. I couldn't even hear my guests on the other side of table :-( I took my out of town guests there since they want Mexican food. I came here with coworkers on a Tuesday night after work and it was super lively! Plenty of street parking and parking lots nearby. Right when we walked in, the high ceilings and modern lights were so inviting. The service staff greeted us all in and took us to a corner table with a booth. I ordered their mocktail with tamarindo, it was delicious! The servers came out almost immediately with their house chips and salsa. We also ordered their cuajada which was simply amazing. The ooey gooey texture was so delicious. I ordered their braised beef with black beans. It had a good spicy kick to it and the beef was literally melt in your mouth. It came off the fork so easily. Lastly, for dessert, you have to order their tres leches and passionfruit creme brulee. That passionfruit was front and center. Such amazing service and a great time altogether! read more

Went here for a team dinner on a Tuesday at 4pm. I have been here before but always at traditional dinner time and it's loud. It was nice to have a quiet dinner. The place itself is beautiful, lots of windows and a large bar in the center. Service was great, we had the guacamole which came with chips and 3 different types of salsa. I didn't think any of the salsas was spicy but I love spicy food and my tolerance is higher than most people. We also ordered the ceviche, it was ok. I had a glass of prosecco and my co worker had a beer. The wine, beer and liquor selection is quite good. For dinner I ordered the chicken mole and my friends had salads. The portions were good, I took half of my chicken home. The vegetables that came with the chicken were a bit too greasy. Service was the highlight of the evening. My phone was dying and I asked if I could charge it somewhere, I had the cords but they offered me a power bank! That's being prepared! I would go back again! read more

So lets face it, there are not a lot of higher end modern type experiences in our area at least when it comes to Mexican food and this is perhaps our first experience as well. We comfortably live in the taco truck to lower mid level type eateries and have had killer luck. We really did not know what to expect. Reposado was a pleasant surprise. From the food with one exception, to the service to even the ambiance, it was a hit with the entire family. The item in question was the Caesar salad which simply needed more acid in the dressing. In the end the 4.5 stars got rounded up as the rest of the items were excellent. Ceviche De Atun: The tuna was fresh and well prepared. The little grapefruit wedges added a nice acid hit. The macha salsa added a nice bit of heat and texture to the dish. The fried plantain slices were fun to eat the tuna with. Gorditas Con Langosta: This was an interesting one. I have to be honest we got this at my sons request and when I looked at the description it looks like one of those too much going on apps. Boy was I wrong, these things were goooood... A small cornmeal boat provided the base, then a layer of flavorful beans appeared to be coarsely crushed. Then the lobster, perfectly cooked added a huge rich hit along with the crema. The guajillo sauce and pickled onion helped balance the overall richness of the dish. Datiles Rellenos: Defiantly not your average date. Stuff it with chorizo, machego cheese and wrap it in bacon. You have this perfect spicy, savory, smokey, and sweet bite. The cheese adds even more richness to the affair. The small salad / radishes paired nicely brings a fresh crunchy element. Caesar Salad: The individual ingredients were fantastic and fresh. The pepitas and roasted corn? Sign me up. The leaves, all inner presented whole! The dressing was a total letdown. It was bland to our palate, needed more anchovies and acid. It was just kind of there. We had two on the table and both were exactly as described above. This salad is about the dressing first and foremost. We asked for some limes and that helped a bit but not enough to salvage the dressing. Costilla: The braised short rib was perfect. not crumbling but just a gentle nudge with the fork to break off. Braised in the Adobo (why didn't I think of that) it added smokiness and a nice acid hit plus some heat. The beans... nom nom nom These were really good. Most palces the beans are at best a flavorless starch mess. There they had an almost lightness to them and were perfectly seasoned. Puerco Asado: A nicely grilled juicy pork chop. The pineapple habenaro sauce was a perfect amount of acid, sweetness and heat. It let you know it was in the neighborhood but did not blow out your taste buds. As we said before service was excellent and the food speaks for itself. Be forewarned the portion sizes are small. It is downtown and parking can lets face it be sucky. We also went early so had no issue just walking in. However, having driven by on a Friday I would reserve a table ahead of time. read more

Dining experience is gon' run up a bill in Palo Alto due to the cost of living +inflation in this part of the bay alone! Reposado was going to reflect that, but we came back for their signature tequila and the friendly customer service we always have even pre-pandemic! On any normal night this restaurant is packed and you have to wait to be seated, even at the bar. Last night, however, we just walked in to seat ourselves-- pretty quiet for 23rd of Dec! The food here is delicious but the service is very questionable. We celebrated my friend's birthday here and got charged a cake cutting fee for no reason ($5 PER SLICE OF CAKE??). We disputed the charge (because no one even informed us we were going to get charges for bringing our own cake) and ended up not having to get charged for the cake cutting fee (because that's honestly kind of ridiculous). The environment is nice and good for dates. If the service charges weren't so ridiculous and odd I would give this place a 5 star rating. read more

Brought my mom here while she was visiting from out of town and we were blown away! The food is SO delicious and every detail of the presentation is on point. We even caved and got dessert - no regrets, SO good!! I was moved to post a review to make sure everyone knows they're open for LUNCH now!! I think this place was open for lunch ages ago, but definitely not since the pandemic. At dinner there's usually a long wait if you don't have a reservation, but at lunch we waltzed right in. Was looking for a cute date night place on Taco Tuesday and Reposado definitely hit the spot! I'm absolutely obsessed with their margaritas! Their guava one is definitely on the sweeter side and I was a fan. The prickly pear cocktail came with a smoky tequila but overall was a great drink. Their tacos are pretty good and pretty authentic (meat and veggies on corn tortillas with sauce). My dish was the cauliflower with cilantro chimichurri sauce and white rice. The red sauce with pumpkin seeds was delicious and the dish felt light and healthy, but very comforting. The cauliflower was cooked well and kept me pretty full.
