We didn't need a reservation here. Walked right in for brunch and were seated as a party of two. Staff were nice and attentive. The place is clean and spacious. They seem busy but we had zero complaints with service. Food came out quickly and it was so fresh. Our entire experience was about 1h (knowing this as we received a message from the street parking meter) and we did not feel rushed once. They were just on top of things. Freshly squeezed orange juice, can't go wrong. I had an order of scrambled eggs and potatoes with a side of fried chicken. The eggs were nice and fluffy. At first glance, we thought our toast would be a piece of brick but it was surprisingly warm, soft, and delicious. Wish we had more. The wings were pretty tasty as well. I ended up packing the rest of the wings to go as a snack for our mini road trip. Overall good brunch spot.

I've come here twice with friends and the food is outstanding! My favorite has to be the blueberry moffle $17 (mochi waffle). I'm also a fan of their scrambled eggs and potatoes. All of the food is beautifully plated and Instagram worthy. They don't take reservations which is unfortunate. The line can be long during prime brunch hours, especially on the weekends. Parking can also be a little tricky. Both indoor and outdoor seating. I'd come back for the good food! Pricing is what you'd expect of a more upscale brunch spot in the area and is similar to Son & Garden for example.

Quaint little nook with Asian inspired breakfast. A lot of tasty options here and the bacon is a must! Gives a different take on bacon. Loved their Ube Lattes, Benedicts, and Skilets. Potatoes were crispy and cooked to perfection. It is a little pricey. Although the food was good, I thought it was overpriced for what we got. The service was also a little slow. It was crowded when we went, so possibly just backed up. But I had to personally ask for refills on my water and wanted to order another coffee, but they hadn't come back to our table for 20 min after our food was out. Again, I do say they get busy. Also we were near the door during a windy day. We asked if we could close it because it was cold and they denied our request.

Vibes: Pretty, trendy, modern brunch vibes Crowd: Busy but no wait on a Sunday morning at 9a Menu: tons of brunch options Value for price: pricey but great quality food Service: 5/5, friendly and fast Parking: street parking in downtown Palo Alto I had a lovely Sunday breakfast at Sweet Maple during a visit to Palo Alto. This place is super cute, with (crowded) indoor seating and nice patio seats too. Expect a wait if you come later in the morning, but at 9am we found a table for 2 quickly. I tried their English Breakfast tea, which was a Tea Forte bag (mesh bag with a little leaf) and had great flavor. They serve the hot tea with a pot of water for multiple servings. I had the Sweet Maple Scramble, mostly because I wanted to try the famous Millionaire's bacon. It was absolutely worth it: THICK chunks of bacon. Order anything that comes with the bacon. The lemon hollandaise on the scramble was flavorful but not too heavy, and the eggs come with ciabatta and roasted vegetables. This place is a bit pricey for me to come alone, but if you're coming on a cute date or with family, absolutely recommend.

Service was great. Wait was incredibly long so make a reservation or get there early enough so the table is available by the time you're hungry. The restaurant was bustling inside and out. It's also in a cute little plaza where I can grab coffee and wait for my turn. The runaround for food was so quick that it took me by surprised but I guess it has to be quick since so many people were waiting to dine. The menu has all kinds of flavors: Japanese, western, Korean, Thai..? Confusing, but Sweet Maple does it pretty well. We got the omurice and the crab Benedict which was absolutely delicious. The roasted vegetable side that came with the eggs Benedict was also super crispy and flavorful. Overall, I enjoyed the meal!

My family and I were visiting the area and stopped by Sweet Maple for breakfast. They have free 2 hour parking lots nearby and it's located next to Verve Coffee. When you arrive you check in on a tablet. I checked in our group of five and we were seated within 10 minutes. The space is nicely decorated and the food was really good! I ordered the two eggs with bacon and potatoes along with a fresh orange juice. The service was okay overall. Just a heads up that they automatically added a 20% gratuity since we were a group of five.

This place gets pretty busy. They do have a yelp waitlist but won't seat you without your whole party. The service was not great at all. The servers walk around avoiding eye contact especially when trying to get their attention. They got out order wrong and took forever to send out the correct meal and still charged us for it despite everyone else being almost done eating when it finally arrived. The food itself is okay. Korean fried chicken lacked the signature spice and didn't have enough sauce. The big hip which is meant to be like French toast was more like a big pancake. It was also overdone and hard and crunchy on places. The matcha mochi waffle was too sweet to eat all of it. It would be best shared with a side of something savory. The dirty Ube latte was not hot and had dregs of coffee at the bottom which was pretty gross. Not sure why this place has good reviews.

Super cute brunch place! Waitlist usually moves by pretty quick. Everything is very aesthetic, from the interior to the table decor to the food. I personally love the mochi waffle here and the fruit always tastes refreshing! Service is also fast and nice but for some reason, drinks took a really long time. It came towards the end of our meal and this was after we reminded. Note for birthday cakes: they charge a $2.50 fee per person to eat it there so please keep this in mind. I understand the point of the fee but it seems kind of pointless for how small it is.

Sweet Maple was truly a sweet treat. We stopped by for Sunday brunch around noon and had about a 30-minute wait. We ordered the loco moco, Sweet Maple scramble, an eggplant side dish, and the elote-style corn. While the patty in the loco moco was a bit more well done than I prefer, the dish was still very good overall. I especially loved the Sweet Maple scramble with the Meyer lemon sauce--every bite was fantastic. The eggplant, drizzled with balsamic vinegar, was a nice addition, and the elote-style corn was delicious and paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. Service was prompt and friendly. I'm very happy we finally tried this place.

Food - Hass Omlet was good. Very tasty. Served with potato and Brussels sprouts. Smaller portion. Country Inn breakfast has a better portion with better price. Service - workers were kind, but was not checked on once until came time to pay. Still tipped 20% Price - expensive but it's expected. You pay for the ambiance and aesthetic plus you are in one of the most expensive places in the world (Palo Alto). Ended up paying $30+ for food / water

Came in on a Friday for brunch and there was no wait! The service and ambience were standard! The quality of the food is what gets it the fifth star! Specifically the breakfast potatoes which were INCREDIBLE!

Joined the waitlist and it took about 20 minutes for a table for two on a Sunday late morning. We sat outside, and even with the light rain, the covered patio made it comfortable. We ordered the chicken sandwich, the Hemingway (salmon Benedict), and the Mariner French toast. The chicken sandwich came with a choice of fries or spring mix salad. I chose the salad but wasn't a fan of the dressing. The sandwich itself was very good. It had a nice spice and was a solid portion. My husband got the Hemingway and really enjoyed it. The potatoes it came with were tasty too. The Mariner French toast was good, nothing too special, but it looked beautiful with the fruit on top. Service was okay, not the best or worst. Overall, I'd come back again.

Came on a Thursday and this place was busy, but not too much to the point where we couldn't get a hold of our server. We ordered a couple of things to share, that being the Millionaire's Bacon in the Original flavor and the Big Hip, which was a deep fried French toast with Vermont maple syrup. Both yummy, the bacon had a lil sweet and spicy moment going on which I liked, and the French toast was delightfully crispy and was not greasy at all. Main courses he got the One Percenter burger and I got the Tornado Galbi Omurice. He killed the burger, so it must have been good, only "complaint" was that there was quite a bit of arugula (I disagree, probably because I got to have the extra). For my omurice, I was expecting the egg to be prepared the traditional way where its kinda shaped like a football and you slice into it and its nice and runny, but this was not that. I assume the "tornado" part of the name comes from the egg being more of a twisted delicate egg as opposed to the traditional style of preparation. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but just don't expect it to be the ones that you see on Instagram. The boneless galbi that it came with had great flavor, but was just a bit on the chewy side, but nothing crazy. For drinks, we got the Tiffany Mimosa and the Champagne Garden. The Tiffany Mimosa was blue curacao and champagne with a sugar rim, which we both agreed was super sweet. The Champagne Garden had watermelon, white rum, champagne. So good, so refreshing, A perfect summer drink. In terms of ambiance, its about as brunchy as a brunch place can get, and its not too loud. It's well lit with plenty of seating, but outdoor seating seems limited. 8/10, would come back. Honorable mention: I loved their tea selection. Didn't order any, but I appreciate the options they offered.

Joanie's has been around long enough to wear its old-school vibe with confidence. The service is just fine. Nothing to complain about and nothing to tell write home about. It's a small enough place you are able to flag someone down if you needed something. We both ordered the "Joanie's Breakfast Medley" which includes French toast or two pancakes, two eggs any style, home fries, and your choice of protein (bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, chicken-apple sausage, or ham) for $25.95. We added two coffees, because we are functioning adults who require caffeine to make decisions. The food was fine, it was what a Sunday breakfast should be. I had a bit of a sticker shock when I asked for the bill and saw that it was OVER $75 for two people at breakfast, with tax and tip. I sat there doing the math in my head the way you do when you're hoping the numbers will somehow rearrange themselves into something more palatable. They did not. Now, to be fair, I am fully aware that the cost of ingredients and labor has gone up across the board. I was just operating on an optimistic budget of maybe $60 which I now realize is one of those "back in my day" comments to bore the Gen Zs to tears. If you want a recommendation for something sweet, go straight for the Cherries, Berries and Mascarpone French Toast. The eggs benedict is a reliable choice too, if you're feeling classic. The restaurant is easy to get to as it is located at the corner of California and Ash Street, and there's a large parking structure right next door. Would I go back? Probably, yes. But I will be prepared so that the wallet shock doesn't catch me off guard again.

When it first comes out, you might think they brought you a green juice, but trust us, this one will surprise you in the best way. It's made with jalapeño-infused tequila and packs a flavorful punch. Fair warning: if you're one of those people who thinks cilantro tastes like soap, this one may not be for you since it's part of the mix. Service is consistently great. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes the whole experience feel easy. And honestly, there's not a bad seat in the house whether you're outside, inside, or at the bar.

I ordered my favorite, the Mini Lobster Rolls (topped with Petrossian Imperial Kaluga Caviar and creme fraiche, all nestled in a super buttery brioche roll that had a nice crisp exterior to it; the lobster was fresh and yummy) and the Grilled Shrimp (dressed in lemon, butter, garlic, and Calabrian chilis; comes with 6 large pieces). I also had the Chinese Chicken Salad, which came with napa cabbage, carrots, and fried wontons, dressed in a sesame soy vinaigrette; this usually comes with cilantro, but opted out. Everything came out fresh and tasty, and the staff were attentive and checked-in often. The place does get busy, so be sure to make a reservation! Wow. Could not have been happier with the food!…read more Will present the food in the order I would recommend: Banana fritters- soft clouds of fried dough, over some rum dark chocolate sauce. Divine! 7/5 Curry cauliflower over a red non spicy sauce. Refreshing! The flavors blended together with the flavorful but not overpowering flavor, with the well balanced sauce underneath. Could not stop eating it. $17 8/5 Mezze plate - the coconut feta was very creamy and good, I really enjoyed the pomegranate arugula salad with pickled onion and with the pieces of falafel inside. The flatbread was a little hard, but good. The eggplant was good and hummus also good. $32 price a little steep for the platter 6/5 Impossible cheeseburger - classic impossible burger. The standout item was the fries, quite good! Crisp outside and soft inside. 5/5 French toast - ok, a little dry, the berry sauce was good but lacking a little dynamic flavor maybe some citrus? 3/5 Cookie with vegan ice cream. Alas, pastries are still difficult to make well vegan 3/5 Service was a little distracted and hard to order. Bussing was very on top of it. I will return for the top items

Not much has changed except the price. The food really blew me away. When I came here in the past, I guess I was on a frozen mocha diet. I ordered the lasagna ($27 with tax). I guess I wasn't expecting much but wow, you can taste the handmade pasta and bolognese sauce. It was delicious with the crispy edges. It also came with a small salad (because iykyk... fiber). It was a bit pricey for lunch but the quality was there. We are outside which was nice and shaded. Overall, good service, nice environment, and great food will keep me coming back here for more! Sorry no pics because I don't want to embarrass myself in front of my colleagues.

The French toast was fluffy, buttery, and easily one of the highlights. The omelette with cream and mirin really hit the spot, and the breakfast wrap was also excellent. No complaints here. Drinks (3/5): The drinks tasted good, but we ordered them extra hot and they arrived cold, which was disappointing. You are also responsible to pick them up so stay close to the barrista id you need coffee. Ambiance (4/5): The atmosphere is lively and energetic, which gives the place a fun brunch vibe. That said, it can feel overcrowded. The seating is very tight, tables are pushed close together, and the line can get quite long. Service (2/5): This was unfortunately the biggest issue. One of our items was missed in the original order. When I went back to fix it, staff initially entered it as a separate order and told me there wasn't much they could do and that I'd need to pick it up as a to-go order. After multiple conversations, I asked them to simply combine it with our original order and bring it to our table, which they eventually agreed to. When our food arrived, the missing item was still missing. After checking with staff three separate times, we were eventually told they were "doing us a favor" by giving us someone else's to-go item. By that point, we had already finished most of our breakfast and were ready to leave. The staff seemed more focused on explaining how busy they were rather than taking ownership of the mistake, even though the issue started with the original order being missed. Overall, this is a solid 4-star if you go on a quieter day and you don't need much customer service because the food is absolutely worth trying. On a busy day, though, be prepared for a potential 2-star experience, mainly due to customer service.
