Visited on a Saturday morning and the place was packed! Waited a short while in line at 11 am, but didn't see an empty table anywhere through the time we dined Great service from the staff and nice ambiance - there's a surprising amount of tables inside. Food was decent, but looked a lot more delicious than it tasted. Corn and French toast were good, but the other fusion foods were just ok especially for the price. Portions were great though!

New obsession! Croffle and fried chicken. The idea of waffle and chicken , but croffle ... crossant, waffle and fried chicken is to die for. When we first put our name, we were the 50th.... it took about 45 min to go from 50th to be seated. Not bad, we walked around the block, checked out stores and walah!

We came here for my birthday brunch on a late Saturday morning and we wait about 20-25 mins, which isn't too bad since I heard people waited 1-2 hrs before. I got the Loco Moco and while it was pretty good, the flavors didn't stand out to me too much. I don't know what the interiors look like since we sat outside, but they had several outdoor seatings. They also charge a 20% service fee for large party, and they didn't inform us in any way (like verbally, putting up a sign, or stating it in the menu) until after we paid and it was too late. We should had looked at the receipt more carefully, but I felt like they should have made it clearer

We didn't need a reservation here. Walked right in for brunch and were seated as a party of two. Staff were nice and attentive. The place is clean and spacious. They seem busy but we had zero complaints with service. Food came out quickly and it was so fresh. Our entire experience was about 1h (knowing this as we received a message from the street parking meter) and we did not feel rushed once. They were just on top of things. Freshly squeezed orange juice, can't go wrong. I had an order of scrambled eggs and potatoes with a side of fried chicken. The eggs were nice and fluffy. At first glance, we thought our toast would be a piece of brick but it was surprisingly warm, soft, and delicious. Wish we had more. The wings were pretty tasty as well. I ended up packing the rest of the wings to go as a snack for our mini road trip. Overall good brunch spot.

Quaint little nook with Asian inspired breakfast. A lot of tasty options here and the bacon is a must! Gives a different take on bacon. Loved their Ube Lattes, Benedicts, and Skilets. Potatoes were crispy and cooked to perfection. It is a little pricey. Although the food was good, I thought it was overpriced for what we got. The service was also a little slow. It was crowded when we went, so possibly just backed up. But I had to personally ask for refills on my water and wanted to order another coffee, but they hadn't come back to our table for 20 min after our food was out. Again, I do say they get busy. Also we were near the door during a windy day. We asked if we could close it because it was cold and they denied our request.

I went with the two eggs any style for my plate when I came to Sweet Maple for the first time. Luckily I was able to substitute the regular ciabatta bread for their gluten free toast but at an additional charge of $3. I also wanted to substitute the potatoes for fruit and was charged an additional $5 for it. I want to say the bacon here is amazing! My friends and I also got the Millionaire's Bacon Sample and I keep thinking about it. All my friends enjoy their plates. But would I say if I would come again? Maybe, only if friends wanted to come. If feels overpriced with the many substitutions I have to make due to my dietary restrictions. The staff was real friendly regardless, despite the restaurant be busy, they never forgot to check in with us.

    Sweet Maple Scramble. Delicious!

Vibes: Pretty, trendy, modern brunch vibes Crowd: Busy but no wait on a Sunday morning at 9a Menu: tons of brunch options Value for price: pricey but great quality food Service: 5/5, friendly and fast Parking: street parking in downtown Palo Alto I had a lovely Sunday breakfast at Sweet Maple during a visit to Palo Alto. This place is super cute, with (crowded) indoor seating and nice patio seats too. Expect a wait if you come later in the morning, but at 9am we found a table for 2 quickly. I tried their English Breakfast tea, which was a Tea Forte bag (mesh bag with a little leaf) and had great flavor. They serve the hot tea with a pot of water for multiple servings. I had the Sweet Maple Scramble, mostly because I wanted to try the famous Millionaire's bacon. It was absolutely worth it: THICK chunks of bacon. Order anything that comes with the bacon. The lemon hollandaise on the scramble was flavorful but not too heavy, and the eggs come with ciabatta and roasted vegetables. This place is a bit pricey for me to come alone, but if you're coming on a cute date or with family, absolutely recommend.

Not sure the popularity of this place! I ordered a chai latte and had to remind the waiter a couple of times before it arrived. The avocado croissant was about $14 and very small for the price--roughly 3" x 4. The matcha muffin was awful. It seemed undercooked and had a bitter aftertaste. It was so underbaked that the caramel-like filling stuck to my teeth. Considering the prices, the food quality and portions did not meet my expectations.

Service was great. Wait was incredibly long so make a reservation or get there early enough so the table is available by the time you're hungry. The restaurant was bustling inside and out. It's also in a cute little plaza where I can grab coffee and wait for my turn. The runaround for food was so quick that it took me by surprised but I guess it has to be quick since so many people were waiting to dine. The menu has all kinds of flavors: Japanese, western, Korean, Thai..? Confusing, but Sweet Maple does it pretty well. We got the omurice and the crab Benedict which was absolutely delicious. The roasted vegetable side that came with the eggs Benedict was also super crispy and flavorful. Overall, I enjoyed the meal!

    Hemingway Benedict
    Mike S.

One of my favorite brunch spots in South Bay, classic comfort food with a creative twist. The Hemingway Benedict is my go-to and for good reason: the salmon and lemon play perfectly off the hollandaise, balancing the savory with a nice acidity. The matcha moffle is a must-try too, that chewy QQ texture makes it stand out from your standard waffle. And if you're in a burger mood at brunch, you really can't go wrong with any option on the menu. Only complaint is that the portions seem to have gotten noticeably smaller over time, which stings a little at this price point. Also worth noting that weekend waits can get long, so plan accordingly or go early. Still a spot I keep coming back to. Just come hungry and patient.

    Dog friendly brunch!

Came out here for a dog friendly brunch. Love that they have outdoor seating so our pups can join in. It's almost always packed during the weekends so be prepared to wait! We got lucky because we got our table and then the brunch/lunch rush came! Service was great. Nothing above and beyond. Drinks and Food: We ordered some drinks to start with. Watermelon Fizz mocktail and the A Spritz cocktail, both drinks were pretty coming out and tasted pretty good and to our liking. My friend got the chicken and waffles and I got the Francis Soufflegg. The chicken and waffles were so crispy and delicious, I wish I ordered that! The Soufflegg wasn't exactly special, it was a soufflé egg that's topped with bacon and some chicken bits, I liked the potatoes more than the soufflé egg actually. But the menu had lots of different items that we will definitely come again to try something else!

    Catherine H.

Super cute brunch place! Waitlist usually moves by pretty quick. Everything is very aesthetic, from the interior to the table decor to the food. I personally love the mochi waffle here and the fruit always tastes refreshing! Service is also fast and nice but for some reason, drinks took a really long time. It came towards the end of our meal and this was after we reminded. Note for birthday cakes: they charge a $2.50 fee per person to eat it there so please keep this in mind. I understand the point of the fee but it seems kind of pointless for how small it is.

Sweet Maple was truly a sweet treat. We stopped by for Sunday brunch around noon and had about a 30-minute wait. We ordered the loco moco, Sweet Maple scramble, an eggplant side dish, and the elote-style corn. While the patty in the loco moco was a bit more well done than I prefer, the dish was still very good overall. I especially loved the Sweet Maple scramble with the Meyer lemon sauce--every bite was fantastic. The eggplant, drizzled with balsamic vinegar, was a nice addition, and the elote-style corn was delicious and paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. Service was prompt and friendly. I'm very happy we finally tried this place.

Ask the Community - Sweet Maple

    Do they accept reservations?

    No, wait list on site

Hi, is there any vegan friendly option in the menu?

Yes, there are several vegan options and plates that can be modified to vegan. I googled it but the answer is too long!!…

Do they still serve gluten-free waffles or gluten-free pancakes?

    They do moffle gluten free.

Is sweet maple no longer open for dinner time?

I know for sure that the Palo Alto location is no longer open for dinner. I have a feeling that this is the same for all the other locations. The waiter said that they can't seem to put together a dinner menu that is "consistent with their theme."…

Dairy allergy here. Does the chicken and waffles have dairy in it? Like milk or butter?

    Does this place allow reservations?

Sweet Maple is walk-in ONLY, at least that's been my experience and what's listed on their website. I've typically been seated for parties of 2 or 4 without too long of a wait. Depending on the day and if you have a large party, you can contact them…

How do i make a reservation?

    In person only

Is there yelp wait ahead list still? Used to have it when they first opened....

I don't think so as I tried to join the wait ahead list the other day and it wasn't available sadly.

    Is there online reservation?

No online reservation for the Palo Alto site.

    Are the dog friendly?

Their features section says dogs allowed! Indoor/outdoor seating as well.

Until what time do they serve breakfast?

They serve breakfast until 2:30pm when they close for a break before dinner.

    Do you guys take reservations?

They do it for dinner- not for breakfast.

    Are the moffles gluten free?

Is the restaurant (small) dog friendly?

What's the usual wait time to get seated for brunch on a Sunday?

One hour and 40 minutes usually between an hour to a two

    What's the dinner menu? Thanks!

Would be too much to type here, but a few people uploaded pictures of the dinner menu. Look at the upper right hand corner of Sweet Maple's yelp page, click "See All Pictures" or "See 739 Photos" -> Menu -> Look for pictures of dinner menu.

    Is it nut allergy safe?

There were walnuts with the chicken and waffles.

What is the outside seating like? Can you hear people to have a conversation?

I went on a Saturday around 1:30. We sat out front and we were not close to hear other's conversations and we could easily hear people at our table. We had shade, but some of the tables did not have an umbrella and they got very hot and wanted to…

    Are there any vegan options?

Is it crazy busy on weekends...if I just want to get a drink to go?

I went at 11am on a Saturday and the wait was 1.5 hours long. If you show up later the wait could be 2+ hours. The best time to go is before 9am so you don't have to wait that long

We made a…read morereservation for 5:30pm on Saturday but walked in at 4pm already hungry, hoping they could seat us early. The hostess did, and we were pleased to see more options on their summer menu since the first time we tried RH Rooftop Restaurant previously was in the winter. My mom ordered the Peach Bellini, I ordered the Pomme Royal (non-alcoholic). In my opinion this menu does have a little something for everyone, even if you're looking for something more casual or budget-friendly. They have a gorgeous selection of salads - super hydrated and happy vegetables, beautiful presentation, very refreshing - plus familiar favorites like burgers and sandwiches - all the way to your lobster and overpriced oysters. We ended up sharing the Steak Frites (medium rare), the Lobster Roll (added caviar), as well as the Blue Fin Toro Carpaccio. The steak frites really impressed me and I could see why people all around us were ordering french fries alone - they're top tier and you can tell they're fresh cut potatoes vs. frozen. Steak was perfectly seasoned and the lump crab on top was also fresh, vs. canned. I wish there was more. Lobster roll was divine, although on the smaller side, and next time we probably won't add the caviar. The caviar alone added an extra $40 to a $36 sandwich so... yeah. The carpaccio is mouthwateringly thin and served with a lighter dusting of caviar - we wanted to order another one and flagged our server down for a second order, but it never came. Like other reviewers have mentioned, service can be slow and disjointed. We were served by 3-4 different faces and although I didn't mind that, I could see how things were lost in translation. Our cloth napkins also smelled gross (when you leave them in the washer too long) which was a huge turn-off so we asked for paper napkins to wipe our mouths. Other than that, it's a real treat to watch the sunset from the outdoor patio if you're around in time with the fireplaces turned on.

Upstairs, the restaurant sits beneath a soaring glass-and-steel atrium, surrounded by olive trees and centered around a fountain. It looks like something between a greenhouse and a designer showroom. They also have an outside area for drinks and snacks. The restaurant was packed and too loud, though, and the tables were too close together. Considering how expansive the gallery is, I wonder why a little more of that space was not given to the restaurant. Another major downside is that they do not accept walk-ins, so you need a reservation. I would choose dinner over lunch. In daylight, the sun pouring through the glass can be too much, with little protection. At night, the lights, trees, and fountain create a much more enchanting and beautiful atmosphere.

Wow. Could not have been happier with the food!…read more Will present the food in the order I would recommend: Banana fritters- soft clouds of fried dough, over some rum dark chocolate sauce. Divine! 7/5 Curry cauliflower over a red non spicy sauce. Refreshing! The flavors blended together with the flavorful but not overpowering flavor, with the well balanced sauce underneath. Could not stop eating it. $17 8/5 Mezze plate - the coconut feta was very creamy and good, I really enjoyed the pomegranate arugula salad with pickled onion and with the pieces of falafel inside. The flatbread was a little hard, but good. The eggplant was good and hummus also good. $32 price a little steep for the platter 6/5 Impossible cheeseburger - classic impossible burger. The standout item was the fries, quite good! Crisp outside and soft inside. 5/5 French toast - ok, a little dry, the berry sauce was good but lacking a little dynamic flavor maybe some citrus? 3/5 Cookie with vegan ice cream. Alas, pastries are still difficult to make well vegan 3/5 Service was a little distracted and hard to order. Bussing was very on top of it. I will return for the top items

Everyone ordered different dishes so we could try a lot of things from the menu. 1/5 Athenian Eggplant - Far too sour and the flat bread was SO HARD. Even carb lovers didn't want to finish it. 4/5 Green Falafel - Came warm and the tzatziki sauce was pretty good. 4/5 French fries - Sauces were interesting. 1/5 Mushroom bao - ONE small piece of fried mushroom in each of the two baos that came out. It was stuffed with sour lettuce instead. 2/5 Corn pizza - That coconut mozz was not it for me. 3/5 Chicken sandwich - Solid. Drinks were good! What's up Doc was my fave. Located in the corner of the plaza next to CVS. Good service.

A high-ceiling dining room has '70s rock playing. More Steely Dan, please! My patty melt was literally the BEST PATTY MELT I've ever had in my life. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, juicy. Fries were excellent. I had a tiny cup of pineapple-sweetened coleslaw for $6, not mind-blowing though. For dessert I had a flawless cherry crumble, heated with a scoop of ice cream. I paid about $50 for this lunch. IT WAS WORTH IT. Can't wait to go back!

We always ask for a table with chairs because I have back problems and can't sit in their totally worn booths and the host has never had a problem with that request. But yesterday the regular host wasn't there and we were told they were busy and we had to sit at the counter or in a booth because they didn't want to put us the two of us at a table for four (there were two tables available). We waited for nearly ten minutes and when I asked again if we could sit at one of the tables was almost rudely told no, they were busy. So we left and went to Joanie's on California Avenue. They were also busy but immediately seated us and we had a much better lunch. Sometimes it's good to change things up as we'd forgotten how kind and attentive all the of the staff are at Joanie's and how much better the food was. And both of our plates of food came out hot and perfectly cooked which doesn't always happen at the Creamery. I guess we just eat there for the memories. My husband said none of the staff at the Creamery seem happy except for the host so if we don't see him seating the guests, we'll just go to Joanie's.

The burrata with peaches was an easy choice. Crisp, toasted crostini slices paired beautifully with the silky, creamy burrata, while the peaches added a pleasant touch of tangy sweetness. Finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh microgreens, every bite was well balanced. The beet salad was just as good. Generous chunks of roasted beets were accompanied by grapefruit, shaved fennel, and creamy avocado, all tossed in a bright, refreshing vinaigrette. The tangy goat cheese tied everything together perfectly. As if that weren't enough, I also ordered the Basil Melt. Layered with organic heirloom tomatoes, fresh organic basil, creamy mozzarella, and thyme aioli on an Acme baguette, it delivered fresh, vibrant flavors in every bite. Simple ingredients done right. To finish, I treated myself to their affogato, topped with house-made whipped cream. Rich, creamy, and wonderfully indulgent, it was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. The only miss for me was the almond croissant. While I appreciated the generous topping of toasted sliced almonds, the house-made almond filling didn't quite deliver the rich, buttery flavor I was hoping for. Service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. The staff happily helped photograph our party of four, which was a thoughtful touch that added to an already enjoyable brunch experience. Overall, this is a wonderful neighborhood café with excellent savory dishes, and fantastic coffee drinks.
