I was needing a late lunch/early dinner the other day and was in the area so stopped by Lutticken'ns. (They are located next to LuLu's and The Dutch Goose) This is such a wonderful local spot! The food is good (and large portions!) and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. When you walk in you feel like you're in someone's dining room that flows into their living room. They have small to large tables in the dining area and in the "living room" area they have chairs surrounding a fireplace, another area with sofa and chairs, and then the bar area. It's super comfy and a great place to hang out with friends, have a couple cocktails, get some appetizers and catch up. They have a big screen TV above the fireplace so you can also watch your favorite sports game. During the day up until 5pm they have their breakfast menu, sandwiches, paninis, salads and their burrito menu. After 5 they have their dinner menu with a large selection of yumminess to choose from. I love all the appetizer selections! Their prices are very reasonable, especially considering this is Menlo Park. They have a full bar and a pretty good wine selection to choose from. They also have live bands every Friday night and on Fridays they are open until 9pm. They have a patio area in the front but on nice days get there early because it's the most popular seats and fill up fast. The staff at this place are the true gems! I think most have worked here for years. The wait staff and bartenders are so welcoming and accommodating they make you feel like you're a guest at their home.

    Who knows honestly

Im not sure how someplace that is so mid is still around. Unfortunately I made the mistake of agreeing to eat here with friends. There are no veg friendly options, and no, they dont even try. I asked if I could do some sort of veggie sandwich. Literally anything with no animals in it. I got a dry roll, with a couple of pieces of eggplant, and jarred bell peppers. A texture nightmare with genuinely no taste (or substance!!!). This is so highly embarrassing, I'm still in disbelief.

    Torta
    Generous Y.

Sourdough was dry, not sour, not toasted, hard to chew, and some bits soggy. Asked for extra meat, definitely did not get extra meat or the base amount they use is embarrassingly low as I barely got any pieces of chicken. Torta (Chicken, Sourdough, Add Extra meat) - the only thing they got right was putting a bit of chicken. That's all I can really say in addition to comments left above. Cheesecake - price isn't absurd. It's a cheesecake, pretty consistent and standard. Nice chocolately touch even though that isn't made clear by the name or description, I thought it was a nice addition. However much I liked it, I don't think it's enough to raise my opinion of this spot overall especially because it wasn't extraordinary.

YUM!! Delicious food, amazing fries, refreshing and tasty smoothie. Great service and an amazing atmosphere in the restaurant with music and the tv's playing. Such a good weekend lunch spot!

Great vibe and energy throughout the entire resto.. Lots of cozy seating..Fabulous Beer and Wine selection. A fair selection of appetizers and entrees to choose from as well as a kids menu. Thursday's are dedicated to karaoke. Bring your singing voice! Recommend the antipasta plate and the Pot Stickers appetizer. Club house sandwich also really tasty! Super delish served super fast!

Hands-down this is one of my most favorite neighborhood restaurants.

I would say it feels like a tavern for wealthy noblemen in 1800s England. Allow me to say where it fell short for me, and then I'll sing my praises. The wine... tasted like wine. I don't have a particularly refined palate when it comes to that. The charcuterie board was a collection of expensive items that I am personally not into: miniature pickles (too sour), meat pâté (bland), and what I think were pickled red peppers. There was no cheese, which was highly disappointing; however, if that style of charcuterie suits you, go for it. The music did not match the ambiance at all. They really should play piano or smooth jazz, because the 2010s pop was honestly annoying. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, the crowd was the real pull. Everyone was either on a first date or was an interesting adult. This makes for fun people-watching and stimulating conversations. People were very willing to walk up and talk to strangers. I saw many people doing so, I felt welcome to do so, and people approached me to converse. So even though the food wasn't great, and the music was horrible, I will return funnily enough because the decor and the people were worth it.

We stopped by before turning in, ordering the Fromage du Jour (a selection of domestic and imported cheeses), a Charcuterie plate (with thinly-sliced cured meats, pate de chevreuil, stoneground mustard, cornichon, and purple cabbage kraut), and the Marinated Olives. There is eating both in- and outside, but I recommend in dining al fresco to people watch. The place is small, but it gets busier, as it does open later in the day (4 PM to midnight)! The setting is charming and relaxed, and the live music creates a calm, enjoyable atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind and focus on the company you're with. From a purely ambiance standpoint, it's a beautiful spot. Beyond a fairly simple cheese plate, the dishes felt underwhelming and not particularly well prepared. Like many other reviews, staff are slow and not particularly attentive or warm. The wine list was fair and the bottle we enjoyed was pleasant. This feels like the kind of place you go for the atmosphere only. Where you go to sit outside, enjoy live music, and spend one-on-one time with someone you care about. If you come primarily for that and keep expectations low around food and service, you'll likely have a lovely time.

There's adorable seating out front, beautiful indoor seating by the piano along with bar seating, and they even open up the back patio at 5:30 (with heaters). I tried the chipotle samosa, which was a fun twist on the classic Indian appetizer -- the chipotle sauce was surprisingly delicious with it. The cheese plate was also excellent with a red wine; there's nothing better than a sip of wine right after a bite of cheese. Their Gewürztraminer white wine also really stood out to me. It was a crowd favorite. Great staff and incredible ambiance -- I'd definitely come back for a group get-together or a date night.

I ordered a lemon grass non alcoholic drink, which was not worth the price ($13). The blood orange and shaved fennel salad was sub-par with a plate of arugula topped with some shaved fennel (some of it browning at the edges) and some slices of blood orange. The dressing was drizzled on it like an afterthought instead of being mixed with the salad. Oh well! After about an hour of waiting, we got our entrees. I got the salmon as my entree and it was served with a corner of the piece broken off and sitting on the plate. This was served on some very gloopy looking cauliflower puree and some tough asparagus. My coworkers got a variety of dishes - steaks were mostly overcooked compared to what had been requested. One person from our party got his food almost after everyone else was done eating, he had the same salmon dish as mine, so no idea why it was so delayed. Overall, a dated place - the idea of French food seems to be using copious amounts of butter in their food and lacking in attention to detail or flavor.
