    Seafood Linguini
    Amy T.

Staff: 5/5 very friendly and courteous but very busy and sometimes hard to get their attention. Food: 2/5 There is complimentary bread with olive oil to start. The caprese ($12) was okay, exactly what you would expect. Guys, the seafood linguini ($38) is SMALL. The pasta is al dente with almost no white in the center. Now for my main gripe is regarding the truffle ravioli ($30). I specifically asked in advance for my ravioli to be cooked thoroughly with no white in the middle. What came out was an undercooked ravioli that was still partly raw and white as I had received in other restaurants. So I hated to do it but I had to send it back. The flavor was slightly sweet and delicious, but when I received the redo, it was still undercooked and now super salty, probably because of the parmesan that was added and the sauce being reduced. The staff was so busy I didn't even bother sending it back. For the price you are charging, this was unacceptable quality and behavior from the chef. We each had a glass of wine and this came out to be a $130+ meal before tips.

Fake olive oil. They serve canola oil to cut costs.

Based on my previous experience and it was getting late in the evening I called Roma for a late reservation at 8:30 PM for three of us. My two friends were from Italy so I wanted to share with them some nice Italian food. The server was fabulous. His name I believe was Will and he was so delightful and charming and efficient. The first problem we had was when the little dish of "olive oil" came to the table with the hot bread. My Italian friend looked at that and said "that is not olive oil" I was shocked and I said I'm sure it is this is an Italian restaurant" I did not taste it but I called the waiter over and asked him what is this. He said it is olive oil. I said could you show us the bottle. He complied but he brought out a large plastic container that said canola oil on it. I told the server that canola oil is not olive oil and he said he was very sorry this is what they serve. So if you're expecting olive oil with your warm bread this is not the place. Bring your own olive oil. My salmon was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon and my friend had the penne pasta which was also delicious.

Reservations were made for a party of 6 in advance for a an elderly special birthday!! We were promptly seated which was the only thing that was done in a timely fashion. Waited 1hour 20 minutes for our meal to show up. The server kept telling us the meal will be served shortly and nothing happened, another 15-30 minutes we would ask about our entrees and the same response!!! The Roma Fettuccine was too creamy, the rack of lamb was too well done, the eggplant Parmesan was bland and the service was non existent. The flourless chocolate cake was a pure chunk of chocolate, panna cotta was just OK!! Tiramisu was heavy and not light, fluffy nor authentic!! Icing on the cake was the 20% tip included in the check!! Will never be back nor will I be able to recommend them! Not sure how they have a 4/5 rating!! We saw another elderly couple just stand up and leave when their meal was served super late as well, so it was not only us!!!

I was pretty disappointed with Roma given the positive reviews they had on Yelp. I went on a Saturday night with a friend and we got the carbonara, seafood pasta, and tiramisu. The carbonara was super salty and had no flavor. The seafood in the seafood pasta was not fresh and had an artificial tomato as well. The tiramisu was not bad but also not superb. The service was also really slow..

I would say it feels like a tavern for wealthy noblemen in 1800s England. Allow me to say where it fell short for me, and then I'll sing my praises. The wine... tasted like wine. I don't have a particularly refined palate when it comes to that. The charcuterie board was a collection of expensive items that I am personally not into: miniature pickles (too sour), meat pâté (bland), and what I think were pickled red peppers. There was no cheese, which was highly disappointing; however, if that style of charcuterie suits you, go for it. The music did not match the ambiance at all. They really should play piano or smooth jazz, because the 2010s pop was honestly annoying. DESPITE ALL OF THIS, the crowd was the real pull. Everyone was either on a first date or was an interesting adult. This makes for fun people-watching and stimulating conversations. People were very willing to walk up and talk to strangers. I saw many people doing so, I felt welcome to do so, and people approached me to converse. So even though the food wasn't great, and the music was horrible, I will return funnily enough because the decor and the people were worth it.

The cheese plate was also excellent with a red wine; there's nothing better than a sip of wine right after a bite of cheese. Their Gewürztraminer white wine also really stood out to me. Eylan is a Cal-Indian cuisine, taking a modern spin on traditional Indian dishes. While Indian food can be quite spicy, this place tones it down and helps keep it flavorful and spice-tolerable for people with a low spice tolerance like myself. We came on Memorial Day Monday at 5 pm, but the restaurant was packed by the time we were leaving about 1.5-2h later. The nature of Eylan's menu is family style, so we ordered a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes to share. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious from appetizer to dessert - you cannot go wrong! Most of the dishes have a bit of a char to them, adding to that flavor profile. While I enjoyed everything, my absolute favorite was the Chilled Green Grape Chaas appetizer. It was a fusion dish, combining elements of the Indian snack pani puri with the Indian yogurt drink chaas. Surprisingly, the dish was both refreshing and packed a punch of flavor. That alone would make me want to come back! The interior is very nice and modern, and the service was impeccable. They were attentive throughout the evening, and it made our first experience here quite memorable. All the dishes were at a reasonable price point, even though they were all high quality dishes. Parking is free in the underground parking structure next to Eylan. We are so excited to come back and try more of the menu!

It was beautifully presented and a good balance of flavors. For main dishes, we got a variety of things. We got salmon, hanger steak, flat iron steak, and poulet roti. Everything was delicious. I think the flat iron steak was preferred over the hanger, but both were good. I thought the chicken was delicious. It seemed braised with a lot of flavor. It was a generous portion with a large salad. It was very well done. We also got a couple of sides of macaroni and cheese. Those didn't disappoint. They came in hot iron skillets and were hearty and delicious. For dessert we got the mousse au chocolat. The mousse with ice cream was a great combination. The dessert was well balanced. My favorite part was the rice, other people's favorite parts were the veggies or the soup (we don't usually eat a lot of protein, but the protein was also good!). It's not an elevated, elegant dish, especially not to-go-ed, but it's hearty, homey, and filling. There wasn't a part we didn't like or didn't think was worth the money. They have ample indoor and some outdoor patio seating; on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, seems lime many people opted for the outdoor seating. While waiting for my pick up order, there was one party in front of me that waited for (apparently) an excessive amount of time because the kitchen was backed up. The workers were extremely kind, and even gave them baklava as an apology! Small things like that show that the store cares more for the community than just getting orders out. My only gripe is that I felt like everything was extremely salty--the three of us were chugging water all night after our meal. I think the salt levels work well if there was plain rice or plain veggies, but when everything is salted so each part of the dish can be eaten alone, you end up feeling parched and bloated at the same time... not a good feeling. Regardless, recommend!!
