Rouge is truly THE BEST! We first discovered Rouge while planning a company event, and from our very first meeting, the team was absolutely wonderful. Welcoming, accommodating, flexible, and genuinely focused on making sure everything was perfect. That experience immediately made us fans, and we've been coming back ever since. The outdoor patio is beautiful, the interior is warm and charming, the wine selection is always interesting, and the food has never disappointed. It's the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy a relaxed, leisurely evening without ever feeling rushed. What really sets Rouge apart, though, is the service. The team is first-rate and has a way of making you feel less like a customer and more like family. A friend and I co-hosted a party for a mutual friend for 15 people over the weekend. Rouge Lounge greatly exceeded our expectation in terms of setting, service and food. A long table outdoors was set with glassware, plates and silverware Our guest of honor has a restrictive diet, but Rouge Lounge came through with special pre-ordered food that met all the dietary requirements and created a festive and airy spade for our group. We hosted the food and everyone paid for their own individual drinks, a much appreciated flexibility with which other restaurants would have a hard time. Service was excellent but not intrusive, and the food was tasty and beautifully plated. It enabled all of us to have wonderful, flowing conversations. 5 stars for a reason. I was looking for a chic reading spot and stumbled across this wine bar. Prices were very reasonable 25 for a flight of amazing Chardonnays and 22 for a Charcoochie board with multi-cheese bread bits that was very warm when it came out. I fear the cold cuts might be too exotic for me but the bread was delicious with the flowers Chardonnay. Given my clogging the main table, I inadvertently forced the server to bring an additional side table for the Charcoochie board. Service was actually amazing. Prices were amazing and the wine was delicious. Favorite wine bar in San Carlos so far (disclosure I've only been to one but bar is high (literally)) kudos. read more

Dog friendly and the owner is super nice too! Love this new addition to San Carlos downtown. The patio is perfect for people watching with your pup. We enjoyed the aperol spritz and there were a lot of wines to choose from. I did a red wine flight, the wines were just ok. Did not like anything in this rotation.
