Wanted to try a new Mediterranean spot in San Carlos and since they have a cute outdoor patio, we brought our pup out on a warm night. We ordered the saghanaki ($18), greek salad ($16), salmon ($34), and gnocchi ($28). The server was kind enough to split the salad and plate it for 2 as he saw we were sharing. The saghanaki is always a hit - flaming cheese and oil? UGH. It's like an elevated grilled cheese once you pair it with the complimentary pita bread. Absolutely amazing! If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Every interaction with staff was great and service was attentive. We were on our way to Fresno from San Francisco and stopped here for dinner. We sat outside and the ambiance was very quiet and cozy. The food was fantastic! My friends and I went for some apps and drinks during the San Carlos wine fest. We were seated on the patio right away & our server was very attentive. The patio seating is nice because it's mostly covered & shaded. We tried the falafel meze appetizer, the falafel was cooked perfectly- crisp on the outside & soft and moist on the inside. The tahini & hummus dips were a great complement to the falafel. We also had the octopus. The octopus was flavorful and very tender, but as you can see in the photo the portion was very small, not even a whole tail. The cocktails were great & everything was a reasonable price! We recently dined here with a party of four on a Sunday evening and couldnt have been more pleased with the service and the food. We had made a reservation on Open Table but didnt need it judging by the number of open tables. It seems Sunday is a good night to dine out if you want a table. Ordering the Saganaki for the table is a must as it comes with pita and is pure deliciousness. For my entree, I very much enjoyed my grilled salmon with nicely cooked vegetables and broiled fingerling potatoes. The salmon was covered in a flavor mediterranian red sauce with kalamata olives. This is review is based on take out service. Ordering online was easy through their website. Pick up was easy and smooth. They have indoor and outdoor dining service. I appreciated that the server held the bag from the bottom and not just the top from the handles in presenting the take out bag to us. This was a very enjoyable and delicious meal at home. The containers held the food well enough upon arrival home though we had to transfer the gemista to a dish immediately. The colors and flavors of the food certainly added to the overall deliciousness of the meal. The fries were nice and crisp with good cheese flavor that you didn't need any ketchup. The zucchini cakes were so delicious with the dill sauce. The Gemista was beautiful to eat. Will look forward to another meal here again. read more

The second plate had two beef skewers with grilled veggies, rice, and a side of tzatziki again. The meat was nicely grilled, had a good char, and was still juicy. All cooked perfectly, the calamari and octopus were the stars. Next the dinner course. I had grilled salmon with a Mediterranean sauce saffron couscous and sautéed veggies. It was fantastic. How have I not tried this place yet??? Went there for lunch with a friend on Monday. I love Greek food and always up to try a new spot. Pylos was wonderful! For lunch I had the seafood souvlaki which was delicious. Nice big shrimp and pieces of salmon in a warm, fresh pita with just the right amount of tzatziki sauce. Comes with a salad and they were kind enough to out the dressing on the side. My friend had one of the gyro wraps and she loved it. They also have Greek French fries which I have heard are amazing. Unfortunately, my current eating plan does not include them but there is always a next time! Service was very friendly and prompt. The waitress Gina ( I think I'm spelling it wrong and it starts with a C ) who waited on us is from Turkey. She was so friendly and helpful.
