    Sausage pizza

Food was ok but service was nonexistent. From the moment we walked in, we waited for the hostess to get off the phone. When he finally acknowledged we were there, he disappeared I guess to check on the table and we waited longer...so long another server came by and asked if we needed help? Our res was 4:30pm so didn't expect to even have to wait. We were seated in the back, we had several small kids and I asked about where to park the stroller and was met with some ridiculous comment how it was "the size of a car" or something we ended up tucking the stroller in the back. San Carlos is very family-oriented so good luck with that attitude! Server came by, forgot my drink, we ordered two pizzas and a salad to start. Food came fast. The sausage pizza was good, the margarita one was ok, the mushroom was probably one of the more filling and flavorful ones. The short rib ragu was simple. Salad was ok. I wasn't blown away by any of the dishes but literally had to flag down the maitre d and servers every time we needed water, utensils, more food. It was comical. I actually apologized because I felt like I kept bugging them. Overall, I was disappointed in the service. Food was ok. I'm not sure I would go back.

This was our 2nd time dining here and 3rd time if you include take out. I came here with my wife for my bday dinner. We arrived an hour early than our reservation time and was greeted by a friendly team. They seated us right away in the area we requested which was the side next to the bar. We love the energy and ambiance of that side more than the main room, which is also well designed but a bit different vibe. Since it was my birthday, we decided to order 3 dishes vs our usual 2. We ordered the squid ink pasta with clams and scallops, the short rib pasta, and the margarita pizza. Squid Ink Pasta- the seafood was super fresh and the sauce really complimented the pasta and seafood. My wife and I would have like the pasta a little more al dente but still really good. I also prefer a bit more squid ink for the seafood and tartness it brings. Other than that, the dish was balanced with the creamy spicy red sauce and the buttery scallops and perfectly cooked clams. Short Rib Pasta- this dish is consistently good. It was our second time ordering it and it did not disappoint. I like that the ribs were shredded into the sauce but still had texture and its own flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce had the right amount of acidity to balance out the dish. The short rib was tender and added the richness and the pasta was a great vehicle for enjoying that. Portion was generous so we had leftovers. Margarita Pizza- pizza in its purest form. This is always something we order here. Whether to go or dine in, the pizza dough, sauce and cheese always deliver. There was a nice chew with the dough while also have the char and smoke that we like. There was the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and basil so it wasn't super watery or soggy. Probably our favorite pizza for this style. We also like the fungi pizza from Delfina in Burlingame but the texture on dough is different. Pausa was too salty and not smoky enough for us. Tiramisu- not pictured but they surprised us and comped us our dessert which was tiramisu. The flavors and texture were good. Only critique is for the lady fingers, to not have sugar sprinkled on it. It made the dish a bit too sweet and the crunchy texture of the sugar took away from the dish. The custard and espresso and chocolate were great. The service was good but judging by how busy they were, definitely could use some more staff. All in all, a great experience again and a memorable birthday. Thanks!

4.5 for sure! Pizza was so good! 5 stars. A pizza is a must. Their prices are the 4 stars. They are a bit too high, to me. Beet appetizer was good. Our waitress was 5 star+. She was great! The host maybe owner, was pleasant enough, did his best. Place inside is clean & nice looking. If you try this place out, have their pizza. Their dough is off the chart good!

Ambiance is fantastic- I'd go back simply for the light and breezy feel of the place. I took my parents for their anniversary lunch and it was a wonderful experience. I really appreciate the two clearly labeled vegan entrees- ravioli and pizza. Couple areas of improvement- while the broccolini and fries starters were amazing, the vegan entrees were quite bland. Definitely could use more flavor- that being said, I got some Calabrian chilies on the side and that really brightened up the dish. Secondly, I wonder what was going on with the service because the restaurant was only maybe 20% full but service was slow, forgetful, and lacked attention to details. We ordered a second glass of wine and it never came and we ignored it, but it was on the bill. I pointed it out and they were super apologetic and said they'd take it off, but when they ran my card it was the same wrong amount. It then took them another 20 minutes to figure out their system and fix it. I'd come back- the servers were very nice and I'd honestly give the benefit of the doubt that maybe today was just weird.

    Very pretty drink.

Beautiful inside and out -- this is the kind of place that works for everything from a casual brunch to a fancy romantic dinner. Definitely a spot you can dress up for if you want to. The space is huge, with plenty of indoor seating and a large, dog-friendly outdoor patio. Their squid ink pasta seems to be a favorite here, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. I also loved that they offer a nice variety of mocktails for non-alcoholic folks like me. And yes -- everything here is super Instagrammable, which is always a bonus. The service was very attentive. Overall, it's one of those "can't go wrong" spots in San Carlos -- perfect for all-day meals or even just as a meeting place. I'll be back for late afternoon small bites next time I'm in the area. Perfect for: anything from brunch with friends to a romantic date night -- versatile, stylish, and welcoming.

delicious modern italian spot! perfect for date night or a nice occasion. i went with a large group for a corporate lunch and while the food was awesome, the wait was not. we waited over an hour for just the drinks to arrive and even longer for the food. we only had one server for a group of 30+, and the long wait times were unfortunate for our midday lunch. the lasagna was hearty and well seasoned. the salmon was also well cooked and delicious. the appetizers (brussel sprouts with bacon and arugula salad) were all phenomenal. lastly, the mocktails were beautiful and tasty! overall, i would give doppio zero another chance with a normal sized group! ps: the floors were super slippery, it seemed like they had been just cleaned or waxed -- i was slipping all over the place and had to be super careful when walking around!

Came here on a weekday with family few weeks ago. I also came here last year one time but never had the chance to write a review till now. Parking was easy to find on the streets. We got seated indoors since it was pretty hot that day. We got here right around opening too so barely any customers which was nice. (I'm sure they are super busy at night though) What we ordered: Nectarine salad: So delicious and refreshing to eat on a hot summer day. I am a huge arugula leaf fan so I was excited to try this and it was soooo good. Def a must order! Figs pizza: Mhmm figs + prosciutto! It can't get any better than that. Soooooo good!! Lots of flavor and makes my mouth watery every time I see a photo of it. Overall service & food was great. The waiters came by to check on us, fill our water cups etc. Definitely will be back again soon!

Fried Calzone... it was just okay.

Food was okay. Just meh. Not amazing. Service was ok. No complaints with service. The music playing outside did not go with the ambiance. Played punk or scream-o type. Weird. Couldn't really enjoy a glass of wine with that music. Probably won't return. If you want a nice meal and a good drink, my preference is Towns.

This is my go to for Italian food. Every plate I have tried is amazing. The staff is always friendly and rhetorical service is great. The restaurant is always very clean, the bar is well stocked, and the restaurant always feels welcoming.

We came on a saturday night and it was pretty lively. The staff was very attentive and welcoming as soon as we came in. Our waitress was extremely sweet and had great recommendations. The food was so delicious. The brusell sprouts were flavorful and crunchy. My favorite dish was the fettucine short ribs. The pasta was al dente just how I like it and the short ribs gave it that wow factor and it just melted in your mouth. The drinks were good as well! The drink I got had a consistency that reminded me of orange juice but it was still balanced well with flavor

Another fantastic Italian choice in the Bay Area. This is my third time here, but my first review. If you go, please start slow, take your time, and enjoy some wine and appetizers. Start with some olives and the fried artichoke. It's a Roman specialty and Dopio Zero does it well. Tonight my group had the gnocchi, fettuccini with short rib sauce, and a pizza -- all were spot on. I know I raved about another Bay Area spot fur pizza, but Dopio makes a fantastic Neapolitan style pizza. Gnocchi isn't my first choice fur Italian food, but I really enjoyed what we had tonight. If you're in asan Carlos, don't miss Dopio Zero.

Great vibes and delicious food! I really enjoyed the pizza, truffle fries, and croquette that my friends and I got. Service was fast, we got seated pretty quickly and our good came out pretty fast also. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, good quality. Parking is pretty easy because there is street parking and there's also a garage in the back. I definitely would come back here again or eat here if I'm ever in the area

Inside has a lot of different seating and good lighting around dinner time. Our waiters were very nice and attentive; I saw one waitress offer more food to a table beside us after they accidentally dropped a slice of pizza in the floor! That's great service. The prices are pretty fair for the portions too' The meatballs were pretty good and there was a lot of them. We came during happy hour so they were $10 and worth it! The pizza we got was great! You can split the flavor for no extra cost which is great. The wild mushroom was my favorite. The harvest blend was really loaded with veggies. The deep dish crust was perfect thickness but too dry....hence the 4 stars. I like a more oily crust haha. Overall, a solid pizza place downtown (although I have yet to try others). We want to come back and try the thin crust here!
