Halibut and fries

Everything we had were great The Cobb salads were loaded with eggs and avocados and more The truffles pizza crust is light And the fish and fish, batters were light and crispy. The quality of the foods were fresh Service was prompt and attentive

Turkey Club. Love thin shoestring fries and their sauce that it comes with.

It's my comfort food place and a restaurant that's tucked away on the highest floor at most Nordstroms. It's mostly food that you probably end up eating after going golfing or something. I have a soft spot for a nice club sandwich with french onion soup (FOS), tomato soup, or crab/lobster bisque. I also like thin shoestring fries a lot. They always get served hot and fresh. The club sandwich always has this nice aroma like from fresh herbs that really gets the appetite going. Their white chocolate bread pudding is/was one of the best, I added was because back then the portion was heck of a lot bigger. Now it's just a shell of its former self, I guess it still tastes ok but that portion hit was pretty significant. Also, they were serving something weird called "the best part of French onion soup" which was a modified version to only serve the bread, cheese, and very small traces of soup. It was weird, like why do this? We weren't in a soup shortage or something were we? Either way I'm glad their FOS is back to its regular style, please don't do that again.

Crème Brûlée

Was looking for new places to dine in around the Stanford Shopping Mall and found this hidden gem. Bazille is a casual American restaurant located inside Nordstrom on the third floor. Ambiance was dark, kind of makes you forget that you're in Nordstrom. Service was very kind and fast, always checked if we were good and if we needed anything else. Food itself was quite decent. Calamari had a perfect crisp and I loved how unique the Jalapeño aioli sauce was instead of a regular marinara sauce. The peppers added a nice kick and sweetness to the salty and savory dish. The French dip was great in size. Nothing special besides the Au Ju adding a juicy sensation to the sandwich. Caesar salad was tossed nicely and refreshing after such savory dishes. We also had the Truffle Mushroom Pizza. The truffle was a bit overpowering but I love how light and thin the dough was. Last but not least we had to try the crème brûlée. An all time classic dessert dish, didn't disappoint one bit however the raspberries had a bit of mold in it lol. Overall it was a decent casual dining experience! Price was reasonable for the portions and I enjoy a discreet location, however I don't think this is a restaurant I'll go out of my way to crave. Still a good try. Update: Review went from 4 stars to a two. Got food poisoning. Please be careful when dining here

Crab mac & cheese

Located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom, this used to be called the Cafe Bistro (the receipt still says that) but it's now Bazille. The offerings are on par with what you'd get at a sit down place in a mall that is not the food court. Some pasta dishes, some steaks, mostly comfort food that they try to elevate. Service is pretty ordinary, the staff seems like they are there on forced volunteer work. Not very friendly and they miss details. But not the worst. We got the cilantro lime chicken tacos as appetizers and the crab bisque bowl. The tacos were ok, the crab bisque a little better but mostly cause it was richer. For the mains we got the mushroom ravioli, halibut fish and chips, and crab mac and cheese. They were all your run of the mill versions of those dishes. Ranging from $18 for the ravioli to $27 for the fish and chips. I think you're paying a premium for the service and ambiance, but both seem rather lacking so it's hard to justify that premium for pedestrian versions of these dishes. I really liked the crab mac n cheese, but again mostly cause it is rich and what's not to like about mac n cheese. On the plus side, it's quiet (I don't think many people venture there anymore with all the other choices Stanford mall has to offer) and quiet spacious so even if there is a crowd you can probably find a spot away from the crowds. So it offers more of respite from shopping compared to other dining options in the mall. If someone wanted to go there, I would not object, but I would never choose to go back of my own accord.

Food and service is the best and the staff makes you feel so at home and all are very attentive. The people behind the kitchen are all amazing. They make sure you are happy with what you ordered and food details are all top notch. We have been to all Nordstroms cafe and this is our favorite.

Good restaurant inside of the Nordstrom building. The salads are very good with fresh and tasty ingredients. I had the mushroom burger special that was decent. It's a nice place to have a meal and visit with people.

Very fancy looking food in a very fancy looking restaurant for very reasonable prices It all tasted so good will def be back if I have another shopping trip to Palo Alto and want a nice lunch break The ambiance is very nice and feels like you aren't in a restaurant hiding in the back of a store haha

Very delicious restaurant that has changed throughout the years. This restaurant was formally known as Nordstrom Cafe then Bistro Cafe now known as Bazille. I haven't been here in many years; the last time I was here was in the early 2000's when it was known as Nordstrom Cafe. Bazille is located still at Nordstrom on the third floor at Stanford Shopping Center. Menu has changed obviously but it still has some of the familiar favorites like their tomato bisque soup and their signature turkey sandwiches. I got the margarita pizza as pictured below and my husband got a hamburger and French fries. Both of our meals were super delicious. Ambience was causal but lively as Christmas music played and the seating and tables gave a nice and cozy feel to the place. Service was pretty sweet too. After our meals, I bought a box of Nordstrom's chocolates; sea salt chocolates with caramel; so rich and decadent. I will have to come back here because I missed this placed so much. Highly recommend.

For a menu that's a little all over the place (I mean that in the best way possible; Loco Moco *and* Chilaquiles on one menu is diabolical), every single dish we ordered was prepared just right. If you care about your waistline, do not get the Umami Fries with curried ketchup; that pile of deliciousness will have you addicted like a fiend with its tangy, savory flavoring. Deviled Eggs were standard, if not for the hint of kimchi. I didn't try the Chicken & Waffles or BLT my table ordered. I ate my fair share of Lemon Butter Prawns; a side comes with six pieces & trust me, you won't want to share. The Loco Moco was incredible -- earthy mushroom gravy over sticky sushi rice and a chuck & brisket patty. Topped with an egg (made over medium like I requested) & finished with a side of arugula salad (my favorite greens) & I was full for days (just kidding, hours.) We ordered a lightly-dressed Caesar Salad with avocado just to cleanse our palates from all the rich textures & flavors. I'll be back for dinner STAT, so please save me a seat.

There are also a few heated tables outoors too. Unlike previous visits, there was a discovery tasting menu for $115 featuring 4 courses including a few new items that are not on the a la carte menu. Opted to do a la carte. Highlights included the salt and pepper octopus which was perfect with the salt and pepper batter along with the potato and green bean salad that complemented this dish perfectly. The snap peas are were fantastic, just like on previous visits. Tried the swordfish this time and it was fantastic. The swordfish was gigantic, lightly battered and fried, just like a katsu. The pork chop was tasty too, being juicy and flavorful. Most importantly, it wasn't dry like sandpaper! The steak was decent. The waitstaff suggested a medium which may have been a touch too high for my tastes... Ordered one of each of the desserts with the chocolate caramel tart being the highlight with a variety of textures and flavors for the dessert. Service throughout the evening was fantastic with staff checking in with us every so often! Scott, himself, even made an appearance to drop off the desserts! ~$150/head after tax, gratuity, and 6% employer surcharges.

HAND CUT GOLDEN SESAME NOODLES This was me and my wifes favorite dish, no notes. SWORDFISH, "KATSU-STYLE" I have never really liked swordfish but being the most popular dish, we had to order. It was said so many times that the whole table immediately felt rushed instead of welcomed. To make matters worse, we were seated on the outdoor patio during a cold, windy day, and the heat lamps didn't seem to work. Not exactly the best setting when hosting business guests. Even though we arrived on time, menus didn't come until around 1:15, which left us with barely any time to order before the hard 1:30 cutoff they kept warning us about. Then right at 1:30, we were told the kitchen and bar were closed, so no additional food or drinks could be ordered. I ordered the stone pot bibimbap and it missed the mark. The rice should have that crispy texture from the hot stone bowl, but instead it was wet, mushy, and didn't feel like a true bibimbap experience. The most disappointing part was being asked to leave around 2:15 while people were still finishing their food and drinks. Overall, it felt more like we were being managed out the door than hosted. I was genuinely embarrassed to have brought corporate guests here.
