Delicious food and super friendly service!! They offer many gluten free items, as well as Vegan items! We had a custom omelet (non-vegan) and the Vegan tacos. Both were very good! The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We also had a Bloody Mary and some sort of spritzer. Both were good, but the Bloody Mary was a little too spicy. But they offer it with or without bacon which is great. There is plenty of parking underground, behind the building and even on the street. Overall fantastic experience and meal! read more

How did I forget to review this place? It's one of my favorite Stacks in the Bay Area. Although I don't get to this location as much as I'd like, nothing has changed -- which is a good thing. We stopped by here today since we were in the area. Over the years many of my friends have eaten here. My wife had their Popeye Omelette which is served with hash browns and a Bagel. (She enjoyed it). I had a large stack (3) of Blueberry Wheat Germ pancakes. I enjoyed them and have not had Wheat Germ since I was a kid (many years ago - lol). It was served with a serving Blueberry Compote which added additional flavoring. We enjoyed our meal. The coffee was pretty good also. Came here for niece birthday brunch! We had a group of 13 and have to give a holler to our server! I would say it's your average brunch place and couldn't really boast about the food. I got chicken fried steak and egg with side order pancake. My chicken fried steak was dried. My egg ordered medium was still too runny for me. I'm ok with the yoke just not the egg whites being runny. Then my pancake came out cold. So ask for a new on and it saved the morning for me. read more

Stacks was busier than I expected for a late morning on a Monday, but we were still able to get seated right away. Did the math and it was cheaper to order hash browns, two eggs an toast from side menu than the two egg breakfast dish with the same things. Hashbrowns were the best part of what I ate. Saw this place since I now work in Menlo and came for lunch. We were seated quickly and were provided our food quite fast. I think the thing that got me was there was a lot of kids here from the high school that almost ruined my visit here. The kids were like literally hanging over into our booth and were blasting their music on their iPhones. I had to ask if they can kindly move so I can sit down. Using the restrooms was a bit chaotic. Was downstairs - kids not eating there using it at will. Just rowdy and crowded in the bathroom. Since there were a lot of kids - getting our waitress to get us a to go box and the bill took longer than expected. Perhaps come when the kids aren't around would provide a better experience. read more

Food here was okay and the portions are definitely large, good for sharing. My husband and I ordered two omelettes, but honestly, one would have been enough. The downside was the service, which was extremely slow. It took almost 20 minutes for someone to come to our table to bring water or take our order. We hardly saw our server the entire meal and did not get any water refills. When we asked for water while paying, we paid and then the server disappeared. Overall, I will not be coming back. Good food, decent prices and hefty serving size. The first time I went, I had the Corned Beef Hash House with scrambled eggs, which comes with a plain bagel. Last week a few of us dined inside and had a wonderful waiter named Mario or Marco. He was a pleasure during our dining experience. This time I ordered the Canitas and Onions Skillet. It was tasty, but they only had one chunk of carnitas, so I only enjoyed it the second day as leftovers. My lunchmates had the California Eggs Benedict and the other had Frech Toast with a side of bacon and maple syrup (extra is charged for the syrup). Both of them devoured their food. The service is great, and the crowds are reasonable (practically non-existent) at 7A on Sundays when my friends and I go. The food is consistently good, with an occasional (but rare) blip like my omelette being a little too cooked on the bottom and throughout. They are giving customers menus with old drink prices, and not telling people when they order. When we asked them about it, they said new menus hadnt come, but refused to make amends on their side when we pointed out the bill did not match the menu. When we asked to talk to the manager, we were made to wait for 15 minutes. Now we have to call another manager, because they served us menus with old prices, gave us no warning, and then refused to make things right when we pointed out the difference. Additionally, the table was greasy and stained my wife's sweatshirt. Shady, rude, bad customer service, and dirty. We will not be back. read more

Next time you visit Stacks, take a look at the seating arrangements. I was initially fine with being seated in the far upstairs corner. However, as time went on, I noticed a troubling pattern: customers of a certain race were consistently placed in the corner, while customers of another race were seated in the center. The disparity made me feel incredibly unwelcome. I won't be returning for obvious reasons. read more

Came as a large party over 20 people and I appreciate that they were able to accommodate all of us. We were a big party so it's understandable that our order will take longer than other tables. Our servers were so nice and attentive. The service was great but I thought the food was okay. Nothing really stood out to me. This is a busy, home style cafe with an expansive menu to choose from. I love eggs Benedict so I decided to try their crab version and it was not good, honestly only had a few bites because i was hungry. The potatoes weren't anything extraordinary. I tried the green goddess smoothie too which was not bad tasting but it was very chunky and I was chewing most of it. I've been to several different Stacks's restaurants from San Francisco, to the ones on the Peninsula and was greatly disappointed with the (lack) of Service and food. We ate early (9:30am) on a Friday morning and sat outside. At this time and during our stay, the restaurant was not busy indoors out outside as we were the only one of 3 tables occupied out if about 25 total. The Hostess didn't great us (fine, maybe didn't want to be there??) but at least allowed us to choose the table. The waitress-Emma came a few minutes later and didn't appear to be interested in either working that day or taking our order. We requested non dairy for our coffee and were told there would be a small charge (really?, non-dairy option for our coffee??). It came in a 3 ounce container. We ordered the Lumberjack pancake, Vegi omelette with home made shredded hash browns, plus 2 eggs and beacon. We've ordered their famous Lumberjack pancakes many times in the past and the ones we had that morning wasn't the same in looks and taste as we had in the past at all other Stack's location. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The Vegi omelet had very little vegetables anda food items were served semi warm so believe it was sitting on under warming lights fur a while as in previous visits to other Stack's locations, good was served hot. The waitress only checked on us well after we finished our meals. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this Stack's location for the reasons above. read more

Manager and hostess is not at all friendly nor says hello. Why even work at a restaurant if you won't even be friendly. Service depends on who you get, can be a 0 to 5 stars. Food is a joke portions have halved and a ridiculous amount of salt added making it inedible. The Burlingame location is the antithesis of this location, amazing service, food and portion. This location with majority pancakes ordered for kids was $300 for 7 people that doesn't even make sense. They really need to close this location or fire the manager and hostess and rehire new cooks and add 25% of food volume back at least. Not sure how this location is even surviving. McDonald's across the street has better food and service sadly. read more

Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Great balance of different ingredients for the sandwiches- pickles/salad/fruit cuts the heaviness of the sandwich and fries. Service was very quick and attentive. Didn't wait no longer than 10 min before the food came out. Ample parking in the back, first three hours are free. Good amount of people eating here, which says a lot. People seem very satisfied with their first meal of the day. read more

Met up with a friend this morning here. I arrive shortly before 9:30 am and waited for my friend to arrive. After she arrived, we ordered our food which was mediocre at best. The worst part was towards the end when the staff kept asking me if they can take my plate when I still had food on it. Then the waitress gave us the check. We still were eating and at some point she came to us and asked if we could pay, so we did. Then after about an hour and 15 min that we were in the restaurant, the waitress asked us to leave because there were other people waiting to be seated, which was a lie. There were no other people waiting, and there were other available tables. Very rude. When we mentioned this to the front check- in staff, they apologized but didn't act like they were sorry. Ate here with my wife this morning, this place looks nice and the yelp pictures look very appetizing. We both got two different sandwiches and they looked great when they came to the table. That all changed when we took our first bites. There was absolutely zero flavor. Don't let the yummy looking pictures fool you! I had the blackened chicken sandwich and my husband had the jalapeño chicken sandwich. Both served with shoestring fries, fruit, and a salad. All the food was incredibly tasteless. Both sandwiches tasted the same. Both the fries and our sandwiches had no flavor. Picture two pieces of bland toast, cooked chicken breast (no seasoning), a barely-there aioli, lettuce and tomato. Our salad was chopped romaine topped with diced tomato, onion, zucchini (?), and pineapple(?). Truly the weirdest salad I've ever seen. On top of the bland food, two coffees cost us $8.50 which I think it's crazy. We asked for two sides of ranch and weren't told that it would be on our bill. $3.75 for two sides of ranch!! And hidden valley! Not even the tasty restaurant ranch!! Our two person meal of two coffees, two sandwiches, and two sides of hidden valley ranch was $53! Food is consistently well prepared, the menu is diverse and expansive, proportion are generous and prices are more than reasonable. What keeps me coming back, besides the food is the super welcoming lovely staff. I always feel welcome and special! And then there is Sal who is extraordinary! You would be crazy to miss the Stacks experience. Menlo Park is so fortunate to have this game welcoming restaurant as the corner stone of our village. Came here today after a doctors appointment. The hubby had the Farmers Breakfast and I had the Egg Tacos. First off, the service was excellent. We were greeted at the door as we walked in and seated right away. The waiter came and took our order in a timely fashion. While we were there a variety of employees checked up on us. The Farmers Breakfast was large and my husband had plenty to take home with him. The Egg Tacos is a smaller plate and because I was starving ate the whole thing. My hash browns were delicious. My tacos were ok, I thought they'd have a more Mexican flavor. It did come with salsa, but there were no Mexican spices in the tacos themselves. I did eat them all and wasn't hungry afterwards. I tried my husbands pancakes and they were Delicious! Next time I'm getting something that includes the pancakes!! read more

I called to make a reservation and was shocked that it was possible! When we arrived, they sat half our party & weren't bothered that the other half was 20ish minutes late. I thought this was incredible in this day & age. The service was swift to order, the food to arrive & the bill to be made. I highly enjoyed the potato skillet & the pancakes were super fluffy! It is a bustling brunch spot with an efficient turnover. I would def return here especially since reservations are feasible. The restrooms are interesting on a separate floor for which you have to take an elevator and use a door key code. This is tricky with young children. Nevertheless, not a deterrent. read more

My parents were in town this weekend, and I decided to take them to Stacks as it's normally a friendly, casual place. From the outset, my waiter looked furious that we were there. She treated us so poorly that I felt the need to apologize to my parents for her behavior. I was embarrassed that I had taken them there. Even my child picked up on her attitude and asked why the waiter was so mean. She did not wait for my older mom to order and pulled the menu from her hand just as she was setting it down. She spoke to us so curtly, using angry, short sentences. Zero smiles. Zero kindness or introduction or "I'll be your waiter" Example : "you know what you want?" When I ordered for everyone she just walked away. She did not offer any of the optional bread choices and just served us what she wanted. I went and got my own water and my own syrup for my child's French toast. It was so bizarre. I explained to my child that everybody has bad days and she probably had something going on that we weren't aware of and I still tipped her 20%. But, I'll admit that I'm pretty angry to have spent $125 to be served a mediocre breakfast by an incredibly rude person. I will not go there again. read more
