$4.99 breakfast specials including coffee? Are you kidding me?! I thought there had to be a catch or hidden camera, but no, my check confirmed it! At this wildly popular Matthews, Greek-feeling diner, $4.99 does indeed get you two eggs, two bacon strips, toast, hash browns, AND yes, coffee. Everything was perfectly prepared. They also offer waffles, pancakes and breakfast sandwich $4.99 specials until 11AM. On top of all that, service is exceptional and sanitation score was a 98. The dining room was packed from the time we arrived at 9:30 until we left an hour later. I do recommend the sunny front dining area however, as the back room is a little drab. Ok. So if you haven't eaten here, you're totally missing out on a hidden gem. The food is phenomenal and the challah French toast is a must. I would be remiss if I did not mention the general manager, he greets everyone and checks on everybody's food at the table. I even forgot my wallet and he called me and got it back to me the same day. In fact, my mom and I are headed there today. read more

Best breakfast in town. I have had the stuffed French toast. It was topped with berries on top. Coffee is always hot. I also have had the skillet breakfast. Love the ham and bacon in it. The sausage tasted like kielbasa sausage which which I personally am not a fan of. The hostess are always fast and efficient. The manager is always friendly and the wait staff is top notch! Definitely give this place a try. You will love it. read more

Met up with friends for breakfast and this was a good choice. We had to wait maybe 15 minutes before we were seated. The time wait wasn't that bad, because the food was good. Everyone enjoyed their food. I was trying to stick a little close to my diet and I ordered wheat waffle with pecans, one egg, and one turkey sausage. The food came out pretty quick.. This place is bigger on the inside than I thought. The inside was nice and clean, and the tables were nicely spaced out. This is a good breakfast/brunch spot. read more

Okay really weird thing happened today. I asked for a western and a big daddy skillet ...AND A SIDE OF SAUSAGE. Lady asked me links or patties . I said links . She repeated order back to me and said "side of sausage links". Well, this is the 2nd time in a month that sausage was left out of order. Maybe if the bags weren't tied people can check the order..! I called this time (didn't the first time). Young lady was nice .. she gets manager and he tells me the sausage LINKS were chopped up and put in omelette.../ um NOPE. There's no sausage added into the omelette. I then asked why would they ask me if I wanted links or parties?? He said oh some people like the links chopped up or the patties chopped up...? Mmmkay isn't it still sausage? I've never been asked once in my lifetime IF I wanted chopped sausage from a link or a patty in an omelette... oh well.. Still a great place for breakfast and more ! Our favorite go-to when we want good quality, generous servings and friendly service. This is the Matthews location of our usual Waxhaw Stacks. The owners are related , Waxhaw is husband and wife and the Matthews location is the Waxhaw wife's brother. Similar menu's and equal quality. The french fries in Matthews are lightly sprinkled with a light spice that was fine even though I wouldn't normally expect the spice. They were tender and very crispy! Stacks : You can't go wrong. 4.5 Stars The food is almost always great, staff is always friendly, the service is always great. Our whole family loves this place, and has for 8 yrs. I stopped in here for breakfast yesterday morning. The service is quick, food is well priced, and portions are large. I ordered the Popeye skillet and couldn't believe how much food was on my plate. I could barely eat half of the portion. The food was very tasty and eggs were made to order. There was a lot of cheese on top of the eggs and plenty of hash browns. Always amazing service, the staff is super friendly. They have specials that change throughout the week, so i love to see what they have when I visit. Today I was grateful to have the chicken and waffles. Oh my gosh is the chicken so juicy and delicious. The waffle is great with butter and the egg dripping down on top of everything *chef's kiss*. We had breakfast but they do serve other meals. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were huge!! The big daddy skillet was 3 meals for my husband! I had the farmers wrap and it was perfect, able to make two meals out of it. Prices are affordable & service is prompt and friendly! Man, I almost thought they may be too busy and I would have to wait. The parking lot is for real packed. But! There is plenty of seating inside and I was sat very quickly. Everyone is so nice here! I love diners like this. Breakfast and lunch service on a daily basis. The menu is epitome of country diner with modern flavors. With so much to choose from you should come hungry. They have daily specials and daily breakfast specials. I had the french toast that's made with challah bread, fresh berries and whipped cream, and a side of sausage smoked for flavor. Visited both the Monroe and Matthews location, both are in excellent food. Go early on the weekend, expect a 20-30 minute wait to be seated. Food is fresh, coffee is hot- chicory taste is very evident in coffee. Ask about the current specials not on menu. Today I introduced my friend to Stacks. We arrived about 1pm. The wait we were told was about 15 to 20 minutes but it was only about 10 minutes. I ordered the special Cinnamon Bun pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries and side of corn beef hash and scrambled eggs. My friend ordered French Toast with strawberries, bananas and candied nuts and a side of sausage and a cup of hot chocolate. It was a slight wait for our food but when it came it was hot. I'm giving 5 stars because this place has really GOOD hospitality ! All of the teams members are very friendly and welcoming from the hosts to the managers! I had the pleasure of dining with David today he was very nice and patient! It was my first time here and the menu was a lot to take in. I ended up ordering the big daddy skillet with a pancake and my girlfriend ordered the garden omelette. The food was good! I really loved the pancake it was my favorite !! I met a friend for a quick lunch. Parking was super easy. We were seated immediately, even though it was lunch time and a friendly waitress came to take our drink orders. They have a very large menu and everything that came out looked delicious! I ordered the basic skillet with potatoes, egg and various types of cheese. I added a half portion of sausage to it for an additional charge. My friend who'd eaten here before warned that my skillet would be a very large portion. He wasn't kidding!! I ended up taking more than half of my skillet home for another meal. Friend ordered a club sandwich with fries and said it too was delicious. I was surprised how fast our food came out. Everything at this restaurant is excellent. The food is good, the waitress was very attentive, the prices are good. I only have one complaint, when they are very busy and people are trying to call in take out orders they take the phone off the hook. I called there for a solid hour one day and when they finally answered the phone they said when we're busy we take the phone off the hook. Not a great way to run a business either get more phone lines or at least have an answering machine. read more

She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. My waitress was bright and smiling on this early Sunday morning. I ordered my usual "test" plate I use on 1st trips to get a feel for the place. Nailed it! Fast, hot, freakin' delicious. When she set my plate down the 1st thing I notice was my biscuit was the size of grandma's "cathead" biscuits, called that because they're that big! Eggs over easy, perfect! Sausage patties large and very good, similar to Neese's if you know what I mean, and perfect! Hashbrowns, perfect! Add the constant top-off on my coffee with the aforementioned smiles, and this is a hidden jewel in Charlotte folks. And it was even cheaper than Waffle House and that is rare in this overpriced town. I will be back!

I ordered the Bananas Foster waffle with chicken tenders and whew...absolutely delicious. Sweet, warm, indulgent and exactly the kind of comfort food my spirit needed. My brother-in-love couldn't stop talking about his Bananas Foster pancakes with country ham -- though he did lobby for a slightly bigger serving of the ham. And my SO completely cleaned his plate of liver mush, grits, eggs and biscuit - he never does that. He also had a passion fruit margarita that he raved about the entire ride home. Honestly, taking care of me right now is a full-time job, so I fully support the brunch cocktail. What I loved most? Wakey Wakey isn't trying to be fancy or pretentious. It's just good people serving good food in a welcoming atmosphere -- and that's exactly what I needed!

Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! While her original visit left more than be desired management invited us to give them a second try and I'm so glad we did. We had an amazing time from start to finish. The staff was amazing and I was astounded by their dedication to their craft. The best part was the food. We started with the chefs board which had an array of cheeses and spreads. The most memorable was the whipped feta. OMG. The Ambiance was the only thing I feel could use some tuning as there's not enough sound deadening to make the music out? It sounds like a heart beat and makes it hard to make out conversations. Major shout out to Leigh for taking care of us all night and making it a memorable night. We asked to see the limited menu and instantly regretted what we had ordered. My wife would have loved to try the lamb pops and I would have ordered the Wagyu beef cheeseburger. We expressed this to our waitress who said we could replace our meals. As we were about to order the food we wanted, our order came out so we reluctantly accepted the original food. When the manager came around, I thought what a great opportunity to let him know of their mistake and perhaps rectify it. As a former server and manager, I would have, at the very least, offered to comp an appetizer, one of our meals, or one of the four drinks my wife ordered Nothing was offered. As a California-born taco lover, I'm almost embarrassed to admit how incredible the tacos are here... because I've eaten at just about every hole-in-the-wall from Tijuana and all up and down the East Coast. I know good tacos, and this place absolutely deserves its flowers. Every single taco was phenomenal, but the steak is out of this world. The flavors are bold, the textures are on point, and the tortillas hold everything together without falling apart, which is a bigger deal than people realize. If you appreciate real tacos and not just "taco-adjacent" food, Que Onda is well worth checking out.
