Pancakes are good. Not impressed with the omelette.. How hard is it to make eggs with stuff?!

Yummy breakfast! Its always packed though for brunch. I usually come with coworkers and they are pretty accommodating for a big group, and in a timely manner. Almost every meal comes with a bagel, which is a bit too much for me with the rest of the plate, so I ask for it in a box to go when I place my order. The light meals are delicious and satisfying and if you are not satisfied, they will replace your meal. Good customer service and food. Its just a bit crowded. read more

Had lunch at Stacks on Friday...nothing special. Chicken Caesar salad, kinda blah. We sat next to some meathead who kept goofing around with his girlfriend and that contributed to my so-so experience. I don't know why this place is so popular, I've never found it all that great. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I saw a few dishes that looked way better than mine. The service was decent. I might try again and get a breakfast dish next time. read more

Good breakfast and brunch options with large menu. Omelettes are good, and they let us make it lower/healthier carb by getting fresh fruit cups instead of loads of potato. We had the Chicken Apple Sausage and Cheese Omelette and very much enjoyed that. Also tried their newer Apple Panel Pancake Stack...that was a big hit. Fresh apples cooked right in the pancake. Moist on the inside, and light crisp on the edges...just the way we like it. Pet friendly patio so we can bring our little princess along with us to enjoy this glorious weather. read more

This is a great breakfast place. Parking can be a little difficult, and the lines can be long. But they do seem to get you in and out pretty quick. The offer free coffee on the street while you wait, so you don't feel like a grump. I specially like their oatmeal breakfast which is strange because I really like bacon and eggs. Warm and friendly ambience! I ordered the triple berry pancakes (short stack) and the pancakes were just the right temperature with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries on top. We were seated immediately and our was server came over several times to refill our drinks and ask if we needed anything else. I really enjoyed the texture of the pancake, as well as the ratio of fruits and whipped cream on top. I will definitely be back! read more

This place has a very good ambience, but the quality of drinks is awful. I ordered the Stacks Mule, it was very diluted & had to change the drink. Later I ordered, Michelada & it was diluted as well, Mimosa was ok though. Food was ok, though the veggie tacos did not have enough quantity. All in all, food is decent but drinks are awful. Please go with super caution if you need refreshing drinks on a summery afternoon. Prefer going to Bills Cafe OR Hash House for better drinks. read more

I like coming here for a late brunch with the family. Often times I choose to be seated outside because we like to bring the doggy with us everywhere we go. The service here is great when they're not so busy. When they're busy they do tend to forget about the super minor things, like refilling the hot water for your tea, while you're outside. There are about 5 tables at most outside. Like most people say, this is a very popular site for breakfast. They have hot coffee outside for you to serve yourself, as you wait. The wait can vary, from 15-45 minutes. The last time I came here was 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated inside. The wait was 15 minutes. The portions are huge and I tend to go for the basic breakfast of Chicken Apple Sausages, 2 eggs (any style, I usually get mine as egg whites), potatoes and a bagel. The potatoes are the best! They are thinly sliced and mixed with herbs. The bagels are delicious, I love to pile mine with their strawberry jam (from Switzerland, I believe). Their drip coffee is the best and I love that they have raw sugar for you. It is just absolutely the best. I could just order a bagel, with their jam and their drip coffee for breakfast, then I'd be set. read more

stacks is f'ing great.. i llove bfast.. its the most important meal of the day you know! I came here to fill myself up with the breakfast of champions today. i had a belgian strawberry waffle with whipped cream and a side of scrambled eggs and pork sausage. all for $15. thats about right. im not complaining. i have a love affair with nice plate sized belgian waffles. service was preetty fast and friendly. I got there around 11, ordered by 11:05, got my food in about 10mins. haha the funny thing was that.. im this little 5'3" 120 lb filipino girly all in business attire... taking on two plates of hearty greasy american breakfast and theres two other guys at my side at the lonely counter. one guy is eating a bowl of what looks like oatmeal and eggs benedict while guy number two is having a omelette bfast with bagel and hash browns and a smoothie. guess what. the little girl in the middle dusted her two plate. go figure. i dont know where i hide it. next time ill eat outside. i love the parking situation. free all around. if never stopped and tried this location before because the wait is outta the door on weekend mornings. booboo. read more

I had heard a ton of raves about this place so my husband and I decided to finally give it a try. We tried it on a weekday so it was not busy and got seated immediately. Our server was really friendly and brought over a pitcher of water and some coffee. I love breakfast food and this place definitely delivered on that. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the banana walnut waffles. The banana walnut waffles are delicious. A must try indeed. Decent breakfast place. I would consider it up a notch from Denny's or IHOP. I love that they serve bagels instead of toast with their dishes. Always toasted well and with a bit of butter to taste. A plus for me! At rush hour, this place really gets packed and the lines long. They serve complimentary coffee and tea for the wait though! After learning that I've never eaten at Stacks, the BF took me here Right Away for a nice brunch one Sunday. We had a long wait but it was worth it after we were seated and ordered some food. So many choices for breakfast! Omelets or pancakes? Waffles or a combination of everything? I decided on the pancakes and I don't even remember what he had except that the portions are huge and utterly shareable. The food is delicious and very filling. Crazy busy on the weekend, as always, but we decided to wait. We haven't been in a couple years but the place hasn't changed a bit. They still had free coffee outside for the people waiting, although it was empty for the time we were standing there - no coffee, no milk, no nothing. And unfortunately, we were seated in a small booth right next to the waitress station ... so it was LOUD LOUD LOUD. Did I mention I love breakfast? I showed up at 9am (thank goodness I was still on NY time) and there's a good sized crowd already - very typical of any of the Stacks locations. They have a good selection of starchy foods here. Sourdough toast is something I consistently miss in NYC. I love the skillets here. This visit I got the corned beef and onion, eggs sunny side up (runny egg is the best sauce). Mmm potatoes. I like their potatoes. The coffee was pretty good, too. However, I did almost get the bacon waffle instead. Bacon. In a waffle. Amazing. I stole a bite of my friend's pancakes - also tasty. But didn't I already say starchy food were good here? read more

I love breakfast! When I want good breakfast near San Jose, I go to Stacks. I always get the Banana macadamia nut & coconut pancakes. They're great, even without the syrup. On my last visit, I also had a blueberry pancake. It was great with the warm blueberry compote. Try the chili. It's chunky and has great flavor. read more

Stacks is my favorite breakfast/brunch chain restaurant in the Bay Area. I hadn't been there in a while until recently, since I had purchased a Gilt City offer for this location. The waiting time was about 30 mins on a Saturday morning, but went by pretty swiftly. We were able to sit outside under the heat lamps on a nice, fall morning. It was a great start to the day! We ordered a single wheatgerm pancake to share, and I ordered the huevos rancheros as my main dish. The wheatgerm pancake was good, but not as stellar as the one I've had at Rick's Cafe in Los Gatos. Nonetheless, it was tasty! Huevos rancheros...super good, but super huge! I was able to finish about 1/2 the dish. I definitely recommend sharing items at Stacks! The portion sizes are ridiculously huge and most dishes involve more food than an average person should be eating. Pretty solid breakfast/brunch place. I came here on sat morning around 10:15 and waited about 40 minutes for a table for 2. They offer free coffee outside which makes the wait time much more enjoyable. They also don't mind if you walk around as long as you let them know and check back in when you get. I ordered the crab melt and really enjoyed it. The sourdough bread was buttered and grilled nicely. There was a big portion of crab meat and it had avocado. It also included a side salad and my choice of sweet potato or regular fries. My husband got an omelet which was also good. The eggs were fluffy and there was a good amount of toppings. Many of their dishes come with a bagel but they let you substitute for regular toast, fruit, yogurt, or cottage cheese. I am always torn between sweet and savory so I was also happy you can order one pancake on it's own. One was the perfect amount for my husband and I to share since we both already ordered our own dish. We got the banana macadamia for and it was delicious! The only downside was it cost $5, when a short stack of 2 is around $8. read more

My husband and I tried Stacks 3 days ago when we were in town for a family celebration. We chose it on the recommendation of my son who said it had a more traditional' menu. Well, yes, it does have the traditional faire (pancakes and big breakfasts) but it has so much more. And as a devout vegetarian, I was blown away, and so impressed, with the expansive and creative menu items. Nonetheless, I stuck to my go-to blueberry pancakes and they did not disappoint. So delicious! My husband got the farmers breakfast (he's not vegetarian) and it was also superb. We liked that coffee is served via your own carafe delivered to your table. I'm also a coffee snob and was pleasantly surprised that it was good. It's a bit pricey but we felt that the overall experience was worth it. It looks like it's been remodeled but still with an old-fashioned diner motif, is clean and well laid out. Our server, Miriam, couldn't have been more friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She was a delight. It was a really good experience and when in town again, we will return. read more

I had heard amazing reviews about this breakfast restaurant, so we had to try it. Arriving there was a nice scenic, quaint, downtown Campbell stroll through a small farmer's market offering samples of organic foods galore. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table (really crowded at 11:30AM on a Sunday morning). But luckily they had tea and coffee outside for everyone waiting to enjoy (other restaurants should do this!). The waitress we had was really, really, really slow and also never told us we had to pay at the front, and so we sat with the check for minutes before she told us to go to the front. Though a waiter we met there (different one) was really friendly and great. The food: Blueberry waffle. One waffle, no sides. Nothing amazing. Not bad, but just not that great. I could have made it at home for a dollar. Old-fashioned biscuits and gravy with over-easy eggs. The sides - hash browns and fruit, were good but very very small. I wish I had a ton more hash browns. I was expecting a large meal but it was really small. Two biscuits with crazy, not nearly enough pork sausage meat, some mushrooms, and two average eggs. Very very average. Not worth the $11.75 price at all. An average experience that didn't justify the price and service at all. Though the waiter in dreadlocks was great and really nice and friendly. It has become a Sunday ritual to come here after a long run on Los Gatos Creek Trail. I'm a creature of habit and order the same thing everytime. Veggie omelet w/ all egg whites. I know, I know... Sounds too healthy huh? Surprisingly enough it's really tasty. The veggies are always tender and not too crunchy like I'm eating a salad in my omelet. I wish the hash browns were a little bit more crisp. The best part of it all is the bagel that comes with all egg orders. Protein, carbs, and veggies... it's a perfect meal! If I come here on another day that's not after a run, I'll definitely try out other items on the menu. It gets crowded on the weekends so expect a bit of a wait. read more

3.5 Stars The GF was craving breakfast food this past Sunday after recalling how good the Stacks in Burlingame was. I quickly jumped onto their website and found out they had a sister location over in Campbell. Awesome. We could get our pancake craving fulfilled! It was a relatively late brunch for us when we got to the restaurant at 1:00PM. Well, it was more like lunch at this point. Expect to WAIT at this place especially if it's the weekend. We checked in with the server and they told us it would be a 45 minute wait. Seriously, at 1:00PM?! They offer complimentary coffee for you while you're waiting though so that's a plus if you are a coffee drinker. We decided to walk around the farmers market to kill some time. We came back at around 1:30 and checked in with the server. A couple of bar seats were available so we quickly grabbed those. Now onto the food. The GF had the Smoked Salmon Fritatta and I had the Sunday special: Eggs Blackstone. The Eggs Blackstone was an interesting twist to the original Eggs Benedict and I liked it. Instead of Canadian Ham it had bacon with slices of tomatoes and mushrooms, all smothered with hollandaise sauce. I tried some of the GF's Smoked Salmon Fritatta and it had a great salmon flavor to it. She noted the eggs were a little overcooked though. Both of our dishes also came with house potatoes/hash browns and a bowl of fruit. I decided to opt out of the fruit for the day so I got a double order of the house potatoes. Stacks is great in that they allow substitutions. If you like your potatoes crispy like I do, be sure to tell them to make to make it EXTRA CRISPY! In comparison to the hash browns at Denny's I noticed the pieces here are a little thicker. Being the food-a-holics we were, we ordered a single blueberry pancake on top of our main dishes because the pancakes here really live up to the name of restaurant. We ordered a short stack (two pancakes) in the past and we were grabbing our stomachs by the end of the meal. Lesson learned, this time we ordered just one. Before eating at Stacks I never liked pancakes, but this restaurant has converted me! The GF and I found that our blueberry pancake here was a little more dry than the Burlingame branch. Nothing a little jam can't fix. They have two different jam containers on the counter: one a Strawberry jam and one that looked like Raspberry because of the seeds. The blueberry pancakes also come with a blueberry sauce that has actual blueberries in it. Really tasty! By the time we devoured all our food I definitely felt full, but not overly greasy and bloated like eating at Denny's or IHOP. I like how fresh the ingredients are at Stacks and that you can leave with a lighter feeling. I feel the Stacks in Burlingame is marginally better because I noticed this place tends to overcook some of their food. I would come back here anytime I'm craving blueberry pancakes and I don't want to drive all the way up to Burlingame. read more

Great food and great service! I have been here a few times now and even though they are always busy, the waitress is always helpful and right there when we need her. Everything thing I have had there has bee good so far: chocolate chip waffles, fruit crepe, and huevo's rancheros, all were extremely delicious that I just had to take some home for later. Huge portions, decent prices, but I wasn't really impressed. The food was good, but it didn't blow me out of the water. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. My hubs had one of the Mexican Omelets. The HR's were HUGE, as was the Mexican Omelet. Hubs found a piece of plastic in his food, and they gave us his meal free. There are always huge lines outside this place. If we ever go back (which is debatable) I will try the pancakes. read more

Stacks, Stacks and more Stacks...... Okay to be perfectly honest I get the same thing every time I come here. That's right, I have a torrid love affair with the Bacon and Onion skillet. :) Fresh, fluffy eggs piled on top of potatoes, chunks or bacon, onions and cheese. It is then side saddled with a huge bagel. Mmmmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking of this delicious meal :) The staff here is great. The parking can be an issue and if you dare go at breakfast time be prepared to WAIT. The restaurant is small and they do not seat your party if everyone is not there in the lobby. Good food and good service make Stacks a really popular weekend breakfast stop. But as many other yelpers have already noted, be prepared to wait on a table. It is not uncommon to wait 20-30 minutes (if not more) before being seated on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Parking is easy to find since there is a downtown parking garage close by. As far as the food goes, it's pretty good and the menu is extensive. Portions are pretty big and the prices are reasonable. I don't live in Campbell so I don't often stop by at this location, but every time I've visited I've left satisfied. read more

Stacks is a tasty, welcoming establishment in downtown Campbell. I checked it out earlier today for the first time, and I was impressed. First up, the menu is never-ending. You can find all kinds of plates for anything that falls under breakfast/brunch. Some of the combinations, like the crab crepe and the white chocolate pancakes, are unique and, based on my first experience, should be worth trying (and subsequently enjoying). I went for a short-stack of the banana macadamia coconut pancakes -- done up with wheat germ. The pancakes were fluffy and moist, so the quality was absolutely there. I enjoyed the abundance of bananas and other toppings; every bite seemed to have something other than standard 'cake. The house syrup (you can ask for real maple for $) was satisfying, too. The pricing for the short-stack (2 pancakes) was reasonable, and I don't see the need to order more of them unless you're sharing them. However, most of the other dishes fall in the $11-13 range, which isn't bad given the quantity and quality, but I know I can find the same elsewhere for a dollar or two cheaper. As someone who wanted to order a side, I couldn't because of prices. $4+ for a side of potatoes and $5.50 for a side of bacon makes me cringe. Service is very good. The whole staff was wearing something 49ers and overall was in very good spirits (Super Bowl Sunday). Also Kudos to Stacks for putting a pitcher of coffee on the table for parties of 2 or more; the $5 pitcher easily serves a couple of cups for each person if split 2-ways. Overall, I'm excited to go back and order something new -- perhaps a meat n' eggs-based dish. Then again, those pancakes were pretty darn good to pass up! read more

I went here with a couple of friends before we were going to drive down to LA. After waiting for a couple of minutes, we were seated as it was decently busy even on a Monday morning around 10am. For my meal, I decided to go with the Mexican Omelet. It was packed with ingredients, including a whole avocado which was delicious. Too often, I feel like restaurants skimp out on avocado since it is such a premium ingredient, but my dish had avocado in every bite. The hashbrowns and raisin toast were also really tasty. The service was a bit spotty at times, but I suppose that is because of the large crowd in the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly so that sort of made up for it. Prices are a bit high for breakfast, but all the food is quality so it is definitely worth it. Highly recommend for breakfast if you are in the area as all of our omelets were great. read more

I've been meaning to try this places for years and I finally did. I had the Popeye Omelette. The ingredients were fresh, the eggs were fluffy. I also liked how they blend their potatoes with onions. It imparts a good flavor and gives them some needed moisture without making them soggy. The service was friendly and thorough. read more

Miriam was our server today and she was great! We ordered biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and the Mexican omelet( substituted mushrooms for the chorizo) Everyone enjoyed their meal. My omelet was outstanding! Potatoes were lukewarm though. We like Stack's and will return. I've eaten at the one in Burlingame and Menlo Park. Stopped by Stacks yesterday, and let me just say for being a Sunday the place was packed super busy. The staff still managed to be super friendly and happy to be there. Our server Miriam was very helpful and answered any questions and needs we had! We sat at the counter so kind of got the feel to the place needless to say food was great and came out quickly.
