Stacks is a great place to meet because it's right in the middle. My wife was coming from the west I was coming from the east, and Stacks was right off the 99 freeway. We split the avocado BLT sandwich with fries. Service was quick. It's an ample size to plate and it satisfied us both. It was a beautiful day to sit outside. This is a great friendly neighborhood diner. That's perfect for a quick meal.

Went in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Staff service was quick and friendly. My favorite food is their breakfast options. The spicy chicken sandwhich was good, it was the average chicken sand which. I have a low spice tolerance and was perfectly fine. The redwood club sandwhich was also good, bacon was cooked crispy and the avocado was fresh. I will say, the chicken could use more flavor. Soft drinks were good and the side of fries and onion rings were delicious.

I met 4 of my friends here for breakfast & right away, the restaurant was busy at 9:00 on a Saturday. That's how you know it's good. By the time we left, there were several parties waiting to be seated. I love the options & variety on the menu! My friends ordered a ham & cheese omelette, Santa Fe stack, chile verde stack, sides of tomatoes & pancakes (I forgot to take a pic of the pancakes) & I got the eggs Benedict. Everyone loved their food & ate their whole plates. I do have to say that the eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked & packed with rich flavor. I was also able to substitute my potatoes with fruit without an up charge, which is always good in my book! They also accommodated my fruit allergy & removed the melons for me. Such a simple gesture that truly makes all the difference. I also loved their coffee! Everything was reasonably priced! I paid $20 for my meal & coffee. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the service was slow. Our server was Angie & she was wonderful! She was friendly, we made good conversation & she was wonderful about accommodating my allergy, as well an ensuring I got my coffee refills! It was slow when we were waiting to pay. We waited at our table for about 20 minutes with our checks & cards ready. Eventually we all paid using the QR code, which is fine but it would've been better to communicate that they prefer us to pay that way & that they will not take our payment for us at the table. Maybe that's not their protocol & they were simply busy but communication was lost. Other than that, the food was great. I loved it!

I would give it a 3.5 starts, not quite 4. Food took a little long to make, and bland- at that! Needed a little more flavor. Salt and pepper wasn't on the table, so I grabbed it from another one across from us. I asked for Tajín rims on our mimosas, didn't get that. Perhaps I'll go another time for redemption, but not anytime soon.

Simply put, Stack's Cafe is a delightful eatery. It is very spacious with excellent lighting and quirky decor. We arrived at 11 this morning and nearly all the tables were occupied. We were seated to the right of the front door. It wasn't the ideal space because each time the door opened and it opened a lot while we sat there, there was a gust of cold wind. Our server was very attentive and apologetic (for the delays). As for the food, every dish was made with love and nuanced with care. We cannot wait to return.

Came in the during the week to meet for breakfast. There was plenty of parking available. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming and the bathroom was clean. Our server told us they're known for the chile verde, so a couple of us at the table ordered the chile verde stack and omelet. I did try the chile verde stack and it was delicious. The portion size was more than enough for 1 person. My wife and I could probably share the stack and feel satisfied. I ordered a burger since I already ate breakfast that morning, plus I enjoy trying burgers at different places around town.The burger and fries was good, although not my favorite in Bakersfield. Our server was nice. I'd still recommend this spot for breakfast.

Nice, clean, new restaurant with updated local photos on walls with a standard cafe vibe playing new country music. Waitress was well informed of menu and provided wonderful customer service. She let me sample the chile verde prior to ordering. The chile verde had a nice little kick and tastes great. We accidentally left my daughter's water wipes on table and another waitress ran out to our truck to our truck to quickly return. I wish I remembered our waitress name as I would have mentioned it. If she reads...thank you very much for taking care of us.

Saw this place on tiktok and wanted to try it. We went during brunch and the place was PACKED. We had to wait a while but once we were seated the service was pretty fast. We tried the French toast, two different burgers, one of the daily specials. There were only clean plates at the end of the meal. The service was great, the staff were all friendly even though they were obviously very busy. This place really competes with the other local big brunch places. I hope it builds the loyal fan base it deserves. We will definitely be back. read more

It's a high 4 stars for me. The service isn't all that great. I never received my toast for my meal, but anyway, about the food; great menu lots to choose from, and what my brother and I ordered, we definitely weren't disappointed. Small, cute, clean, and quiet space. Idk, but i feel like the biscuits were freshly made, and idk I've never had sausage taste that good, but the gravy was so good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the flavor on the potatoes had excellent flavor. My brother ordered the sandwich, which was really good, and the ranch tasted homemade as well, really good. I've been to lots of breakfast spots in and out of town. In my opinion breakfast is pretty straightforward and hard to ruin. Saw this place and decided to try it out. My first thoughts of the food was it was not that great. The coffee was horrible, the country potatoes seem to be under cooked, the toast was far from toasted and the food just tasted awful. I know in these days everything is expensive and I usually don't complain but the ridiculousness of get charged almost another 5 dollars for the two scoops of salsa and bell peppers and onion is crazy. We will see how long this place last. My guess not long with these prices. Save your money there are better tasting place that don't charge you extra for everything. read more

We came on a Sunday morning and immediately got sat. The place was very clean and everyone was friendly. Randy was our server and he provided great service. He made sure we had everything we needed, made sure to inform us on every up charges and quickly refilled our drinks. We ordered the chile verde omelets and a stack. The food was good but the biscuits were my favorite! A different touch than your usual biscuit. Over all pretty good, would come back. read more

**SMALL CHILDREN ALERT** This restaurant does not have a changing table in either restrooms!!! Yikes!! I was excited to try this place as I heard a big buzz about it and then didn't hear anything further. I went with my family on a Saturday morning (10am) and it was a pretty bad breakfast. The service was nice, the place was cute, and we got our food SO fast!! Other than that, the food was awful. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffles were waffles, but man that chicken was baaaaddd. It tasted dry on the inside and the batter tasted super hard and stale! Yuck! Even my husband had a bite and said that was probably one of the worst chickens he's ever tasted. Our son got the kids combo with pancakes and sausage. He enjoyed his plate, but he's 2 I had a bite of his pancake (given the name their pancakes HAD to be good right?), and it tasted like the batter was also stale. It just had an odd flavor to it. Overall, I wouldn't come back. We tried enough separate food items where it just missed the mark. Which I'm surprised since it has so many good reviews! read more

This place is was nice, the environment and atmosphere was clean and cute. The service was great very attentive and friendly. However, I did order an orange juice that never came. The food was kind of mediocre unfortunately. I had the eggs Benedict and the egg was cooked well but the dish was overall flavorless. The hash browns were mushy. In the sandwich the chicken was over cooked, really dry and overcooked, it made it hard to bite through. However the rest of the ingredients were decent. And the waffle was a waffle. read more

Coffee was cold and tasted like herbal tea. The waitress stated the pot had tea in it prior to the decaf coffee, so I guess a simple washing of the pot was not performed. Asked for an omelette without cheese, but it was very much WITH cheese. We gave them a shot, never again. read more

First time going to Stack's Cafe & it was pretty great. Party of 3, we came in around 8ish we got welcomed when we walked in & got sat fairly quickly. The waitress was nice and attending. She got our drink orders and brought them out, then proceeded to take our orders. I ordered the Country Fried Steak W/ Hash-browns & Toast, my mom the Loaded Verde Potato W/ A Sunny Side Egg, her wife the Belgian Waffle W/ Scrambled Egg & 2 Sausage Pattie's. Everything was delicious overall. Good size portions, and filling. I would definitely be back to try their lunch options, menu has different variety's and a little bit of everything for everyone. Prices are fair, ended up spending about $50 for a party of 3 which is usually what we spend when eating out at restaurants. Never felt rushed or unattended, definitely would recommend. read more

The service was fine. It was more so the food. The menu like the combinations of the sides to the plates were just a little bit weird. Would not recommend this place. Everyone around us who was seated after us got their food before us. The waiter did not explain why, probably because the order was never placed. No acknowledgment from management. The table that got seated next to us had a similar issue, the restaurant skipped them and sat parties that arrived after them first. When they noticed we were complaining about the wait time for our food, they left so they wouldn't waste even more time. Got to the restaurant at 10:40 got seated at 11:20 didn't get food until 12:20. Go somewhere else you're just wasting your day if you come here read more

They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.

I ordered the eggs Benedict, and honestly, both the country potatoes and ham missed the mark for me. The potatoes had a strange aftertaste, and the ham tasted like something you'd pick up at a bargain deli. I was hoping the bacon would save the meal, but both my wife and I were let down. Even though the food was served hot, it felt more like it had been microwaved rather than cooked fresh. My wife, who's pretty picky about waffles, said the Belgian waffle was okay, but nothing special, so that didn't help the overall experience either. On a positive note, Andrew, was very friendly, and the place was clean, but the food really needs work. I would only recommend this restaurant if you're bringing your pitbull for its birthday because they're serving dog food! The gravy is translucent and has sausage cubes, it's definitely canned. They don't have pico de gallo but they offered "fresh house salsa" but it's flavorless puree that I had to add salt to. The chicken friend steak was harder than a 2000's Nokia! They also seem low on supplies because they give you individual plastic pup cups of ketchup, they will not give you a bottle. The tables are very low and every single thing squeaks if you move it (chairs/tables). Our server was great but that Sysco food is an abomination! Never again! read more
