Good bar with a sizable patio. ipA are great, the GLb one is lighter than usual IPA, I tried the other heavier one however. Bit dizzy. Take caution

Gord and I had supper last evening at Squirly's Bar & Grill. We'd never been there before. Gord had a chicken and bacon wrap (grilled chicken, smoked bacon, lettuce and mayonnaise in a lightly grilled flour tortilla) and fries. He said it was really good. I ordered the turkey dinner special which came with turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, Brussel sprouts and cranberry sauce ... I'm not a fan of Brussel sprouts so asked to not have any. It was a good meal ... it tasted "homemade". Miles was the bartender and our server. He was friendly and chatty and took good care of us. The prices and food were good ... we'll be back!

burgers are amazing. service is decent. the bartender just threw a serving tray at my throat like she was Kill Bill but the beers and food are reasonably priced so its fine. Highly recommend.

Look for the traffic light in the window, and regardless of what colour is showing, be sure to stop if you are in the mood for a patio and some cheap brews. I am pretty obsessed with their covered patio draped in red velvet couches and mismatched tables. They also have an uncovered smoking patio and all the green plastic crap you can handle. I have been here five or six times, yet have never had anything to eat. I've had, however, enjoyed many $6 pints and I think once there was a shot of whiskey, but I can't really remember... PEPPER POINTS for the kindest staff on Queen W. No pretentious hipster crap, just nice folks fraternizing with their patrons.

Squirly's was awesome. I enjoyed seeing the many black squirrels frolicking about in Toronto. I walked past Squirly's and decided to stop in for a beer. The interior was warm and inviting. The chairs were great to sit on. I met some interesting folks while hanging out at Squirly's and had some great conversations. Squirly's was a welcome change to the many bars that surround it.

I hadn't been here in a couple of years, probably, and couldn't remember that much about it, cuz when I went last week, it looked different than I had pictured in my head. In a good way. I really love the heated patio, decorated with a sort of tiki-Asian fusion that kinda rocks. I had only been here for drinks in the past, but the food was great- I think it was the only time I have *ever* ordered soup in a restaurant in my life (so I guess I'm clearly no soup expert), and you should know that I loved it- Curried Squash, they called it. I also tried the chicken wings which were surprisingly delicious; very round and tender and some kick-ass blue cheese to dip it in. "Authentic", my friend called it, so maybe I should spell it "bleu". The setting is likely to keep me coming back, same with the service which was prompt and friendly while managing to keep as cool as the Sufjan Stevens playing in the background.

    awesome chalkboard menu thingie.

My review may possibly be skewed for 3 very simple reasons : 1. It was boiling sunny day an they had an empty patio that was shaded 2. I WAS STARVING and suffering from gut rot of morning ice coffee 3. I had great company. INTERESTING DECOR - a bunch of great little pieces for a hut sorta theme- great stand alone pieces but maybe not so much together. I am a fan of written menu boards - particularly in chalk so +1. Comfy looking chairs +1. The menus were also interesting - I don't think I'm still OVER the cut out pictures of Buddha and random Asia-related pictures that subbed for a menu cover, or the hand written Saturday menu. The waitress was great - the water was always refilled, the food came promptly and she didn't ask us a zillion times if everything was okay that I would have to awkwardly try to respond ," yes, thank you." It's quite possible she never came to check - I don't know - again , I was in great company so I didn't really notice and she brought me food while I was starving so I was ever so grateful. ONE THING OF NOTE was that nothing had any - flavour to speak of. It was just bland and unseasoned, save the sausages which were unusually salty. Mind you, this could be a great feature so you can dress as you see fit...but I always feel like the home fries should have SOME seasoning - I dunno, do some shake'n' bake? but it was yummy still. I will try it by myself one day and see if my review still stands the same.

Great spot to grab lunch or an after work drink. Very casual (dive) atmosphere, laid back and friendly staff. Delicious food (pasta!) at a great value. Burritos are good, could use some more guac (although i think that's true everywhere)

    Only menu that matters!

Forreal though, the run Soho House had can only be rivaled by 2011-2015 Whole Foods. You really had to be there... but like any other prime, Father Time always catches up. I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.

The place SEEMED quiet but shortly thereafter the place got JAMMED! Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.
