Given they are well known for their seasonal rooftop patio, it's not too busy here during December weekend evening. The food we had was surprisingly good, despite the moderate rating. The big plus is that it pleased a picky eating kid in my group. I ordered the SOCO brisket burger and it was decked out and delicious and part of the proceeds from the burger goes to charity, which was a nice touch. One of us had it with the fries and it was crispy and good. Crispy kale is also an alternative option if you want a healthier touch like I did. I also tried some of their pear and prosciutto and pepperoni pizza, which was fantastic. The pepperoni pizza had this honey glaze on top, which was tasty and my picky little cousin enjoyed it. The salmon my SO ordered was also cooked really well. I didn't get to try the pasta but another person in my group had it and didn't have any complaints. Very tired as we tried desperately to find a place to eat at after arriving into Toronto. We dined on the patio which was nice. The chairs were kind of hard but okay. I had the Caesar Salad with yummy bacon and a tasty dressing. It was good. I was very hungry and ate every morsel. It was very expensive as this restaurant is attached to a hotel. Located right beside my workplace, I'm surprised I haven't been to SOCO before. It's more of a business meal type environment, as the prices are pretty high without using an expense account, and the menu is nothing too special. Despite this, I did enjoy my meal here and I would consider coming again. I ordered the chicken katsu curry, which was a surprise to me to even see it on the menu. The portion, for $32 was pretty good - of course you can get an amazing katsu for less somewhere else, but for the location this was really good. The taste was great and the amount of chicken was sizable. The only complaint I'd have is that the presentation made it hard for me to pair rice with the curry sauce, as the rice was all hidden underneath the egg rather than underneath the curry. My coworker got the tuna poke bowl ($30) and that looked good as well. The portion didn't look that big, but I didn't hear any complaints. We also ordered the whisky cake ($16) for dessert, which was just okay. Overall, we paid $116 including tax and tip for lunch, which really is quite expensive. I just got some mimosas which were standard, but my 2 friends both got the shakshouka and one also got a side Caesar salad, which they said were all tasty. Came here for lunch while in Toronto and close by to the hotel where friends and I were staying for the week. Very nice inside and staff and service were good. Comfy cushioned seats. The restaurant is part of the Delta Hotel. Lunch menu had a god number of choices especially any bites and pizza to share. there is a full bar and plenty of coctail options. Happy or shall I say Social Hour every day = check for their hours. TV at the bar to watch sports games live. I'm torn on what to give this restaurant I think it's a 3.5 it has the potential to be a 4 Great location great decor this is the second time I visited and the rooftop patio was not available only the street patio it's kind of annoying that you have a feature on your website and it's never available... When I say it wasn't available it wasn't open they weren't seating anyone on the rooftop You have to scan a QR code upon entry to answer covid-19 questions and then you have to scan another QR code to get the menu there are no physical menus the menu has changed from the last time I've been I give them credit for thinking outside of the box with their dishes. We ordered the garden hummus which is supposed to be a shareable dish but when we received it I think it's more personal it came in a flower pot with vegetables stuck in it so it looked very earthy they definitely nailed the look they were going for but it made you feel like you were eating dirt because the hummus literally look like dirt it was really weird but if you get past the look the hummus taste amazing it was fresh I would have preferred to eat it with pita rather than the vegetables that they did bring. The carrots tasted marinated which was delicious but I would have preferred my hummus with pita bread. We also ordered the pepperoni pizza the base sauce was more of a sweet sauce rather than your typical tomato sauce it was still tasty but it wasn't something that I would come back for specifically I also ordered the garden bowl which was rich in color mostly purple it was a light ...the avocado was not ripe it was hard I don't think you should serve anyone hard avocado and you can tell it's hard when you're cutting it I was disappointed in that. I added chicken on the side which I forgot to take a picture of it was a really small piece of chicken that you have to pay $10 for that's quite pricey but I must say the chicken was cooked very well very tender it was seasoned with salt and pepper very good for someone who is looking for a more health conscious decision. They were nice enough to move the center piece on the table so we had more room to eat. They checked in to make sure we were happy with everything. My boyfriend and I stopped by here for dinner and had a really great experience. The Service: The service was really good and our waitress placed our orders relatively quickly and she continued to fill our glasses throughout the night. Our food also arrived really quickly, which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful ambiance. The Ambiance: The restaurant is really nice and has a romantic feel. It is definitely the perfect place for a nice enjoyable date night. The Food: We ordered a margarita flatbread pizza (this was loaded with gluten and dairy) for my boyfriend and a cauliflower steak for myself. My boyfriend really enjoyed his flatbread pizza. The portion was huge and he said it was really good. I asked him how it compares to his favourite pizza restaurant and he said it was good but not as good as his favourite pizzeria. He would give it 3 out of 5 stars. I loved the cauliflower steak. It was placed on a bed of lentils in a curry of some sort and featured a green pesto sauce. The flavours on my dish were fantastic and I would give it a 5 out of 5. I liked it better than the cauliflower steak at the Keg, which I used to think was pretty great! Brunch: everyone's favourite hybrid meal! I was sad to hear the roof patio was closed but hopefully I can visit when stage 3 begins. I order an eggs benny every time I go to brunch, so my standards for this dish are pretty high. I decided to try the wild mushroom benny, which was one for the books. The hollandaise sauce was to DIE for and as seen in the last photo, the eggs were poached to perfection. I could go for another one right now as I write this. SOCO offers either tater tots or fresh fruit as sides but we paid $2 extra for half-and-half (be aware of this if you decide to order). My friends ordered the avocado benny with spicy hollandaise and they're people who cannot handle spice well - they said it wasn't spicy which would be good to note. I couldn't finish my caesar as it was way too salty for my liking, the spice level was good though. My friends loved their mimosas, a classic brunch drink. The only downside was the rain, which definitely is not their fault at all - we didn't get a high top table so ended up being soaked by it sadly. The food has always been absolutely delicious! However the service leaves a lot to be desired. We had the same server twice (blonde female, with an eyebrow piercing); once back in August and just this past weekend. In August She was not very nice (didn't say hello, didn't bring a couple things we asked for, didn't check on us etc.) My sister and I chopped it up to maybe she was having a bad day. This past weekend we once again had the same waitress, this time she was even more rude and unprofessional. If it wasn't for this one server in particular I would've left 5 stars. She is not fit for a serving job as she simply has ZERO people skills and acts like you're a burden to her when asking for absolutely anything! read more

Spacious patio in the heart of downtown, near CN tower. We came here a day before the rooftop patio opened. The patio menu is more condensed so we got to try two items - margherita flatbread and pork belly cubano sandwich. For drinks we tried the Hibiscus mule and raspberry beret. The mule is not your traditional mule but it had a hint of ginger in it. The raspberry beret was fruity and refreshing. Can't wait to try the rooftop menu! Soco Kitchen and Bar inside Delta by Marriott Toronto is a pleasant surprise. I don't usually frequent hotel's restaurants as I found most of them were overpriced and serving mediocre food. Since it was freezing cold with -20 windchill, We decided to stay in and give Soco a try, I even invited some of my friends to join us! Beers selection is decent with some from local Ontario breweries. I found my cocktail Caramel Apple Mule ($14) was so so. But luckily all the food we ordered were a hit! #youwannaeat Mac'N Cheese ($10) with BBQ Braised Beef ($10+$4) is a must order as it had won 2015+2016+2017 Toronto Mac and Cheese Best of Festival. It did not disappointed! Charcuterie and Cheese ($24) love the home made terrine and crackers! A nice spread to share with friends! Not Fried Calamari ($15) packed with flavour: savory and spicy. Soco Kitchen and Bar is a small restaurant with a sports bar feel on the ground floor of the Delta hotel in the Toronto financial district. I've been here a few times now, half for business lunches and half on my own. I've always found it easy to get a table for one or a group of four. For larger groups, it's best to call ahead to reserve. My first visit was a team lunch the past summer. I had a black cod dish that I thought would be similar to what you'd get at a Japanese restaurant. It was not. I was also disappointed with the flavor. Recently, I decided to give Soco another try because it was freezing outside and I didn't want food court food. I was interested in pasta, so I ordered the duck bolognese. It was fantastic, and I ordered it again on repeat visits. You can taste that the pappardelle pasta is freshly made. The ground duck is savory and delicious. I couldn't tell that it was duck. It includes a scoop of cold ricotta, which goes so well with the pasta. Getting a taste of ricotta, pasta, and ground duck in every bite is pure heaven. On one of my last visits, I also ordered the mushroom soup. It had a very earthy flavor to it. At the bottom was a sliver of portobello mushroom and two quarters of a button or cremini mushroom.
