I tried an Earl's in a different mall last year, and I've been thinking about their yuzu calamari and Lychee-tini ever since. The calamari is served as big juicy strips and the yuzu sauce is magical with a unique citrusy flavor. The lychee-tini is sweet and tangy. This location has great service. Our waitress was friendly. We were seated in big cozy chairs. Food was promptly prepared. This time I also tried the chicken tenders app and added a side of truffle fries. I'm not crazy about panko breading, but the chicken was thick and juicy, and the plum sauce is good. The truffle fries are almost shoe-string style. Very crispy, not too oily. The mains were overall good, the Alfredo was better than I expected and the Cajun chicken is delicious (extremely stingy with it tho, as pictured). I was excited for the spinach dip but it came out room temp and was underwhelming but they gave a good amount of bread to dip it with. Truffle fries were good though. Earl's is my new fav spot for a girls night out!!! Immediately upon entrance, the restaurant is beautiful with classy vibes. The lighting is dim and perfect. One quick thing was we had to wait a while for our table which we already had as a reservation which I thought was weird. Other than that, service was fab and everyone was super nice and accommodating. As for the food: - Truffle Tortellini: 5/5 stars. This was BOMB!!! The sauce was amazing and rich with flavour. I loved the asparagus and spinach add ins which was a nice balance to the pasta carbs. I also opted in for prawns in my pasta which was a great combo. Not too salty, was just perfect. - Lychee Martini: 3.8/5 stars. Honestly I was already nursing a hangover so this was even stronger than I expected. I wish they added a bit more lychee juice to balance out the strong vodka but overall it was really good! - Passion Fruit Martini: 3/5 stars. I'm not a big passion fruit girl so thankfully it wasn't my drink. It was nice and citrusy. Super refreshing if you wanted something to sip on throughout the night. Was less strong than the lychee martini. - Chicken Hunan Kung Pao: 4.2/5 stars. WOW this was delicious. The portion was massive with lots of noodles and veggies. They let us in a few minutes before open, which was nice. We got seated quickly and then were provided the menus and water quickly. The atmosphere was really nice as we were there. We ordered our meals and then were provided our meals about 20min later by someone different. It took a while to get some more water for the table (10min or so) as we were eating our meals. The restaurant itself is connected to Square One. So, you have that parking available to you, which was adequate when i was there. It's well decorated and all the employees were really friendly. The food itself, I thought was pretty solid. I ordered the filet minjon with mashed potatoes and veggies. All three things on the plate were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My favorite was probably the mashed potatoes, which were creamy and buttery. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the service was a little slow and I thought the portion size was a little small. It was my moms birthday so we decided to take her out for lunch. Even on a Monday afternoon, it was quite busy. So I'd suggest making a reservation ahead. To start we did the normally CoVID screening and then got seated. Our server came, brought us some water and gave us some time to look at the menus. But it was a little to much time. I guess he was also the bartender because he went and made a lot of drinks for everyone at the bar. The problem is that we were kinda stuck there waiting for a while and didn't know if we should just tell someone because it was taking too long. Anyways after a bit of waiting we ordered the margarita pizza as an appetizer. The pizza was good. The ingredients seemed very fresh and I really like how the pizza was cooked. For the main I got the steak frites. The sirloin was cooked very nicely and the crust was very tasty. I also really enjoyed how crispy the fries were. My dad got the half and half chicken and ribs. The sauce was very good, not too sweet or overwhelming. The chicken was very soft as well. I'd say the food quality is pretty top notch, but the service could do with a bit of improving. SPECIAL COVID-19 EDITION REVIEW: SAFETY PRACTICES, PROTOCOLS AND MORE. OPEN DURING COVID-19. (Stage 3 of the province of Ontario reopening) Now, if you've followed my reviews, I literally almost never give a 5 but this is... wait for it... a 6?! This has never been done before in the 10 years I've been on yelp, 8-9 with an account and 6 as an elite!! Parking is terrible here, it's at the Square One mall, so what can you expect? A huge mall with over 300 shops.. parking must be bad! The patio looks super comfy with lots of room, the outside looks great (see pictures). When you go in, they're super polite and following COVID precautions (masks, social distancing, even added a way for you to pay on your phone, sort of like paying for someone online - which I like!) there are options to even get sparkling water (which I hate LOL) but wow the fact it's an option, this is definitely fancier than restaurants like JOEY, or Cactus Club. They have a two and a half hour seating limit, which is pretty fair, I mean, they have to make money, so if you're going to stay 2 and a half hours or more, this probably isn't the place for you. Not sure how strict they are on that rule but they do mention it to you at the beginning. I got a burger and fries (not really surprising at this point, as it's my normal thing LOL) and my girlfriend got gyozas, we wanted to stop and get a small bite to eat, so this was perfect. Their customer service is beyond amazing, I've never seen a restaurant run so well. Food tasted great, would've liked more cheese for the $2 up charge but it was amazing, fries were a good portion, the gyoza was pretty good too. Margarita mixed well. Wasn't enough salt on the rim for me, but that's because I love salt to a fault. LOLOL. Food was all amazing though :) Additionally, they take food safety and safety in general very strictly here, you can hear the staff saying "corner" loudly when coming around the corner. That's something I learned when I worked in foods when I was younger as well... just no places really cared for it. I used to manage in foods, so this team gets an A+. We met Ocean, the dinner manager who took great care of us. Her staff are very attentive and very well trained. Seats are super comfy inside too... We came here on a Thursday night and made reservations for 5:45. I had arrived at 5:30 and they seated me right away which I appreciated. The waitress was super nice and super attentive. We were a group of 7 and all of our orders came out withing 5-7 minutes of each other which is pretty good. I appreciate that the waitress had asked everyone individually when ordering if we had any food allergies or restrictions so she was super attentive. I am plant based and really like how they have a whole section dedicated to plant based eating, with vegan options as well. I ordered the tofu tacos and it was delicious though a tad expensive for just being tofu and veggies (t was about $19). We had finished eating around 730 and stayed till 930 and they let us sit there all night which was great. Four stars may be pushing a bit, but I think it's worth it for the very high quality of the food and drinks. I've been to the Earl's located in the Prudential Center in Boston a BUNCH and remember nothing but fantastic experiences. As far as food goes, it was as lovely as I remember. My girlfriend and I went recently and we've enjoyed a fantastic combination of small plates & entrees. The problem with Earl's, as far as I can see, is relatively inattentive service. The servers themselves seem to be quite good people, but the whole place has a bit of a college-y kind of camaraderie that leads to long waits and mistakes. It's one thing when this happens at a cheap restaurant, but Earl's is CERTAINLY not cheap...about half the menu feels overpriced. However, when we did eventually get servers' attention after a while, they were very kind and talkative. Side note, not a great look for the restaurant to say there are no tables available when three tables are very obviously available and not filled for the entire night...but who knows. Mad props to them for having an absolutely bodacious clam chowder and generally great food, but they gotta pick up the pace a little! read more

I called to make my reservation earlier (from 11:45 am to 11:30am) to ensure I could take part in the happy hour brunch (11am to 12pm). The girl that answered the phone didn't know if brunch would be available on Labor Day even though the menu online says (weekends and holidays) and had to double check. That's fine. Then she came back and said brunch starts at 11:30am. So I confirmed, "happy hour will only be for 30 mins then? Or the full hour?". She said she had to go check again. Came back said "yes" (yes to what, I don't know) then hung up. I would expect staff to know what menus are available at what time. Anyways onto the food. The complimentary beignets were cold. Not very pleasant as they were tough to eat. I got the prawn and lobster Benedict and my boyfriend got the chicken and waffles. The Benedict was a bit fishy for my liking. I would have appreciated if the shrimp was grilled. He said his waffle was good but the chicken was more batter than chicken. Both of our entrees were $14 during happy hour which is a fair price. The food was good but the wait time brought my rating down significantly. Came here today with a friend for Happy Hour to have a break from studying. Made a 2pm reservation but unfortunately got caught in the horrible and on-going Hurontario Street traffic due to construction which made us 10 minutes late to the reservation. Didn't think much of it because restaurants usually have a 10-minute grace period. While in line at the entrance of the restaurant (@2:11pm) as there was 1 person ahead of us, I received a text (@2:15pm) stating my table was ready and if I was on the way, which prompted me to reply "1" for "yes" (see pictures) - which also led me to assume that there was no issue on being late. When I got to speak to the hostess, I provided her with my name and she responded "for future, we have a 5 minute grace period but no problem, were not busy and they're cleaning your table as we speak." I proceeded to thank the hostess for her time and apologized for being late and not calling as I read on their online booking system (open table) that they have a 10 minute grace period and that the reservation would be held for 2 hours. We were asked to wait in their "waiting room" while our table was being cleaned (2:18pm). After 20 minutes (2:38pm), I realized my name was not yet called so I approached the hostess again and she stated there was a delay in the table cleaning and it should be ready shortly. We were seated 10 minutes later (2:48pm), given menus, and was told our server would be with us shortly, but we played the waiting game again. Over the next 20 minutes, my friend and I watched other servers bring different plates to different tables around us while we were not greeted by a server or offered water once. As I noticed we were being passed by multiple servers and getting the feeling we were forgotten, I began to wonder who our server was so I approached the hostess again (@~3:05). I proceeded to ask for the name of the hostess in charge of our table - she replied "Oh her name is Latoya" who happened to be behind the hostess and overhead our conversation. The server apologized for the wait and said she would be with us shortly. Within 2 minutes, she came to our table, apologized for the wait, and stated "sorry, I just had some things I had to do which delayed me". I just smiled, said "no problem" and proceeded to order because at that point, my friend and I just wanted to order. Although I know that things come up, the server should have asked one of her fellow servers for assistance and to kindly visit our table and offer us drinks while she was dealing with her "things". From the moment we checked in to the time we were offered water and visited by our waitress, we waited a total of ~50 minutes. I love Earl's food and love the vibe there but waiting almost an hour just to be seated, offered water, and asked for our orders is a little excessive - especially after the hostess told me it "wasn't busy". Food - I got the Steak Frites (6oz) with fries and truffle butter -- where I may add that the server did not mention to me that there was a fee for the truffle butter. Her exact words when taking my order was "medium rare, okay, and you have the choice of truffle butter, cajun seasoning...etc. with that, which would would you like" which led me to believe it was included .. which I later saw on my bill for +$3. The steak frites were great - tasty and cooked perfectly. With respect to the bill, I noticed before paying that I was charged regular price for the steak frites instead of the Happy Hour price so I had to bring that to the attention of the server as well. My friend got the "jumbo lump crab cake" and she stated it was delicious and it was presented beautifully. Overall, food was great but the wait time really threw us off. We didn't expect to wait that long considering we had a reservation so we had to skip the Happy Hour drinks since we had to get back to studying - we did spend an unexpected 2 hours there. read more

I like this place a lot. We came here for mother's day and the set up was great, great location right in downtown Mississauga and nice, friendly service. The food was pretty good also, classic gastropub food with a twist. We came around brunch and they offered all brunch items for half-off before 12pm. I got the POKE bowl and it was very flavourful with a large amount of tuna, a large amount of avocado and a good base of rice. My company got the avocado toast super brunch which they loved and it came with two poached eggs and a side salad. The reason I don't award the 5 stars is because the overall service was slow and lacking. I understand it was busy but we got checked on no more than twice, and waited 25 minutes for a server to take our order along with another 45 minutes for our food. I've been to the location in the financial district a couple of times so I was excited when I saw this at the mall. Unfortunately the service here doesn't even compare and the food is rather mediocre. When we got there around 3, the restaurant was relatively empty with staff cleaning and looking at us instead of telling the hostess to come and greet us which was already a red flag. Regardless we waited until the hostess noticed. She brought us to our table and then we just sat there looking at our menus with one that was empty inside and our server was nowhere to be found. Honestly there were plenty of staff walking around just no one walking near us. We literally had to stare someone down before they realized. We came during their happy hours so there was plenty of food and drinks that were at a discounted price. We had the burger, dynamite roll and chicken tacos off the happy hour menu and jerk chicken from the regular menu. The dynamite roll was $10 and not very great but it's not a sushi restaurant so you can't expect too much. The rice was overcooked so instead of each individual grain of rice it was like eating a mush. The main thing was that the shrimp tempura on the inside wasn't even hot. So the rolls were probably premade. The chicken tacos were $6(?) I believe. They weren't bad but the main thing that bothered me again was the temperature of the food. The jerk chicken was great overall. Great spice, 2 large pieces of chicken and it was spicy. Only thing I would say is that the bed of rice was a bit on the tiny side but for ~$25 it's pricey. I used to come very regularly before I started Yelping. Always buzzing with energy from all the staff polite friendly and never a dull moment here. They usually have Happy hour specials everyday and 2 time slots from 3:00PM to 6:00PM and 9:00PM to close, there is also a rotating bar happy hour menu depending on the day of the week. The patio is open now that the weather is nice with umbrella's that have built in heaters for the colder days and night. The patio is very spacious considering they are situated in the mall. We came in just as happy hour was starting and we just went to town ordering basically the whole happy hour menu after our long hike we had earlier that day. Everything that we ordered was so delicious and a fair portion and price cheap. Their Rhino draught beer is a good deal on their happy hour daily $5.50 for a 18oz pint and very refreshing. Their burgers are big and juicy I especially like their pretzel bun. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the burger as my nephew was so hungry his mouth got to it before my camera. The garlic fries was the best as I normally order this all the time it may sound plain but wow that garlic and herb flavour punches you hard in the mouth. Their chicken tacos are good and the amount is prefect to share with a few friends not overly filling if split 3 way, if 1 person eats the full dish I think it can almost be a main dish on it's own. The buffalo cauliflower was a hit as well creamy buffalo sauce and crispy fried cauliflowers. The warm spinach 3 cheese dip was not enough we wished it came with more dip and tortilla chips that's all I can say. The green dragon roll is very refreshing and light this is a vegan dish as well. I went to Earls at square one Friday March 8th, 2019. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the modern décor and friendly faces. We sat down the waitress mentioned it was happy hour, let me say this is probably one of the best happy hours I have seen in a long time. Their happy hour included a wide variety of food and drinks. We ordered (see pics) a personal margarita pizza ($4), street tacos ($4), bigger better burger ($13), the Cajun burger ($13), Nashville spicy burger ($13) & an upgrade to garlic fries. Our waitress was super friendly, she came to take our drink orders right away. Our drinks were never less than half full. She came to check on us regularly even before we got our food. How the food tasted: The margarita was your typical personal pizza, the tacos were three small chicken tacos topped with a tomatoes cilantro sauce with mild spice, the better bigger burger was my personal favorite the beef was juicy all the other ingredients tasted fresh and the Cajun burger was super good too. We ordered it mild spicy, it was spiced with a mild spicy dry rub sauce that was so flavorful and complimented the chicken breast so well. Everything was delicious. So, as I mentioned earlier we also ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich, a bite in I realized it wasn't the sandwich for me. I mentioned this to my waiter and she went above and beyond, got the manager (a young lady I wish I got her name ) over and replaced it right away! The service was impeccable, food was delicious. We came here because my colleague came to Earls for a work function in the past and said the blackened chicken was pretty good. Atmosphere- Nice. Decor and seating areas are spacious with different lighting in different areas and booth seating as well. Good for couples and large groups. Patio seating available in summer. Food- I hope this place revisits some of their items on the menu. Ie. Cajun Chicken meal - comes with coleslaw and potato salad. Chicken was delicious and good size, but the coleslaw and potato salad were smothered in mayonnaise and a huge size to make the plate look bigger. I don't think anyone wants to eat a meal slathered in mayo. See picture. When I pointed this out to the server and asked if I could just have the Cajun Caesar instead.. she rolled her eyes at me. I told her I could keep the chicken, because it was fine and actually tasted good; I just didn't expect the potatoes to be slathered in mayo and the coleslaw to be such a big portion of cabbage and mayo that was so underwhelming and unappetizing. (I actually love coleslaw). She left my plate there and proceeded to order my salad, sans chicken.. when the salad came, she didn't even bother to take my plate of potatoes and coleslaw that I didn't touch when I transferred my chicken to the salad. My colleague had a chicken salad and asked if he could substitute the feta cheese for a different cheese and the servers response was - "we don't have any other cheese here"... despite them having Parmesan cheese for Caesar salads and having tacos on the menu?? Her response seemed short and like she didn't have time for my colleague and didn't think he should be allowed to substitute his cheese. In the end, she didn't even give him cheese in his salad. Service - needs improvement. Server was insincere and didn't really seem like she wanted to be there. Guests should feel welcome when they come to earls, not like they are a burden. We were not pleased with her people skills and would definitely not be recommending our organization or friends/family to have any functions here because of this poor experience . After visiting 6 Earl locations around the North america, I can comfortably say the taste is pretty consistent. A nice upscale place, decent for weekend brunch and dinner. Brunch is served till 2 PM. High chair bar is also available if you just want something casual. Staff is friendly and have good knowledge of the content in the dishes served. From the brunch menu, I would recommend trying Chorizo + Mushroom Hash and Avocado Super Brunch. Country breakfast is good but it lacked the portions one expects. From the Full menu, Sushi platter is amazing, you get to try everything but make sure you are on cheat meal. Oven roasted salmon and short ribs are delicious. The location of this place makes an excellent outing dinner added with some shopping. Valet service is not available but there is abundant parking available. read more

After a nice May 20th hike in the early afternoon we decided to go to Earl's at Square One Shopping Centre. We arrived around 2:45pm and there were many seats available even though the mall was buzzing with people since it was the long weekend. When we were seated our server advised us that the Happy Hour Drink and Food Menu was starting at 3pm, which made our day. So we decided to try a variety of sharable items. We ordered the 8" Margherita Pizza, it looked like the individual frozen pizzas you can pick up at the grocery stores and tasted like it too which was a lite disappointing. We also ordered the Garlic Fries which was very delightful and full of flavour. We also ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wings and the Buffalo Cauliflower which tasted good however the batter on the Cauliflower was not crispy enough. We also got the Spinach Cheese Dip which was okay as it was slightly bland and needed more flavour. We also got the Lobster Tostadas, which lacked some flavour however had very nice presentation. However the Street Chicken Taco was tasty and also looked presentable. We also tried the Green Dragon Roll...not recommend as it doesn't taste like the regular sushi you'd find at a Japanese restaurant. The rice was slightly hard and lacked flavour. Our Server was great and it was nice to be able to go out somewhere on a long weekend. In my opinion, I'd prefer Earl's for the beverages. read more

I came here last night with some coworkers and enjoyed the atmosphere and meal. We came in time for their happy hour prices, so I got 3 chicken tacos for under $7 (with tax). My friends got a burger/fries, and the Cajun chicken. Everything was delicious and turned out great! I have been here previously, for lunch & for late night drinks, and the service wasn't always great. It takes multiple reminders to get our order and once I left without getting anything I ordered after waiting 45 minutes (this was on a weekend). However, my service yesterday (Tuesday evening) was great. Hopefully they have gotten better on weekends. read more

My friend and myself have never been to Earls. It was our first time visiting and my experience wasnt a good one. My friend brought her two year old daughter with her. We were here around 1pm on Sunday. The restaurant is pretty spacious and the decor is pretty nice. As I mentioned we had a 2 year old girl with us. The hostess seated us right in front of the kitchen exit?????? I thought it was a common sense that when you have little ones you want to avoid this areas... so many people going in and out with hot food and why would you choose to sit us right in front of the kitchen. And there were so many empty tables available? I ordered Hunan Gongbao noodles with shrimps- it was wayyyy too salty. How many litres of soy sauce and salt did they add in this sauce. In my opinion this dish was a failure and it should not even be in the menu. I added hot water in my noodles you can see from my second noodle pix how much water i have added....still i didnt brother finishing the food. Coconut shrimps- shrimps are small and not much of coconut on them. It sucks i didnt taste a single bite of coconut. My friend got the oven baked salmon. I didnt taste a bit but she said salmon was plain. Not taste. I wasnt interested in her dish at all oven baked salmon was already a dry food, why would this restaurant serve plain white rice with it????? No brainer it makes the entire dish even dryerrrrrrrr.
