Food was pretty decent. I went with a bunch of people from work and we split some apps to start. I liked the calamari Giovanni ($16) and the bruschetta ($9.50). My NY Sirloin ($27) was cooked a nice medium and it was tender. Food here is nothing crazy taste or quality wise, but it's a nice place to go and nothing was bad.

Idk what they did to the sauce, but it tastes artificial now. Not good. Also the presentation is just lacking.

Well, here we are... more than a decade later and I'm updating my review. Unfortunately my experience this time was starkly different. Came in for lunch today and ordered the Chicken Parm lunch special. The portion is comically small. Seriously, I could have devoured this thing in three bites. But the portion isn't even the main crime. What the hell on earth happened to the sauce?? The marinara I remember from a decade ago is completely gone. What they're serving now tastes like grocery-store jarred Prego! Artificial, chemical-tasting, and loaded with that "Italian seasoning" flavor. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. The only bright spot was our server! She was genuinely warm, funny, and attentive. Easily the best part of the visit and the only reason this isn't a one-star across the board. Spumoni's clearly cut every corner they can on food quality. I mean, you're an Italian American restaurant! Your bread and butter is that red sauce. If you don't have that nailed down. Then what do you even have? All around disappointing and not worth what we paid for lunch.

Went here several weeks ago and got the Grandpas seafood favorite and the Giovani Calamari. Everything was delicious and the service was very fast. Portion size is amazing here. I think this calamari is arguably one of the best in Rhode Island. The restaurant decor is modern and has nostalgic photos. This is a family favorite of mine and will continually to come back.

Another wonderful meal when coming back "home". The food is always consistent and the service excellent.

I was pleasantly surprised even after not visiting spumoni's in years. Food was good. Service was quick and big portions. The place was hooping due to football game. Hopefully won't be years before returning again.

Such a great restaurant! I can't remember how many years ago my dad took me. I happened to be in the area with my niece tonight and decided to stop. It all starts when you walk through the door. The staff that greeted and seated us were very friendly. The decor, and flowers throughout the restaurant really added to the ambiance. Lots of great Italian and seafood choices on the menu. Our waitress Malia was great! She promptly took our drink order, we both got Shirley Temples and brought us bread with soft butter. The menu stated they came in fresh daily. We decided to get a couple of pounds. They were some of the best steamers that we have had. I grew up around the ocean and have been eating steamers for over 20 years and these were right up there with the best I have had. My niece got a delicious plate of Fettuccine Alfredo. I had the Baked Seafood Platter. This had two jumbo stuffed shrimp. At least four large sea scallops, scrod and a stuffed quohog in the middle. The stuffing was a Ritz cracker base with lemon. All of the seafood was moist and cooked perfectly! As a cook, I was impressed. They give you melted butter and lemon wedges if you want to drizzle it over the plate. I did, it was delicious! I thought the overall cost was extremely fair for today's standards. I highly recommend going here! Can't wait to go back!

This is a local favorite that has a family friendly environment. My husband and I sat at the bar, we were greeted with a smile from our server. Our server ensured our place seatings were clean, and took our drink order immediately. The bar was more than half full when we arrived at 8:30p. We were hungry so ordered right away, I was able to get a gluten free chicken parmigiana, and it was delectable. Highly recommended this for lunch or dinner, eat in or take out!!

We were greeted by Armando, the owner and chef. He provided background information about his new restaurant and his experience as a chef in the Providence area. He also explained that the Porchetta was homemade and that he'd cook anything on the menu to our exact specifications. He'd create a dish, sandwich, combine different plates, etc. Our party of four ordered: * Porchetta & Eggs with Breakfast Potatoes $15 * French Toast with Strawberries and Whipped Cream $12 * Omelet with Breakfast Potatoes $10 * Chicken Cutlet Sandwich $16 I ordered the Porchetta & Eggs, and requested the eggs be prepared as an omelet. This dish was very tasty and nicely prepared. I also tried the fried chicken cutlet, which was hot, tasty and nicely executed. All plates were completely consumed, and all diners agreed the food was excellent. Our brunch was only $78 with tip, we thought the prices were very reasonable and the meal a great value. We look forward to our return!

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

Our server, Dwight, seemed rushed and inattentive throughout the evening. From the start, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We asked if we could move to a nearby table that was already set for eight, as our current table was cramped and located in a very tight walkway where people constantly brushed past us. We were told the table was reserved, yet from the time we arrived just before 6:00 PM until we left at 8:45 PM, no one was ever seated there. It was frustrating, especially since the cramped space made our dining experience uncomfortable. Service overall was lacking. Dwight rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get his attention for drinks or assistance, he would quickly pass by before we had the chance to ask. It often felt like we were bothering him. We were not offered water, and getting additional beverages was unnecessarily difficult. The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable. When we ordered dessert and cappuccino, the cappuccino tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, but again, no one came back to check on us, so we had no opportunity to address it. The most disappointing moment was the birthday acknowledgment. We asked for a dessert with a candle to celebrate an 85th birthday, and instead received a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a small amount of whipped cream, and a candle. It was underwhelming and, honestly, a bit embarrassing. We would have gladly paid for a proper dessert. Jacob the busser was the only attentive one there. We have come to Pane e Vino every year for family birthdays because we've always enjoyed the atmosphere, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

There was classic Italian music playing over the speaker. For this posting, I chose three items including the Alfredo ($11 plus tax), Tortellini in Brodo ($12 plus tax) and Scallops ($16 plus tax). I was also given chewy Italian bread slices and butter. The Alfredo in a bowl had soft linguine, rich creamy parmigiano alfredo sauce, broccoli, & black pepper. The Tortellini dish (bowl) had three hand made jumbo pasta pockets filled with ricotta in a parmigiano chicken broth & olive oil. The Scallops (small plate) had pieces of charred cauliflower, seared scallops, red wine cabbage, roasted maitakes, eggplant and roasted horseradish cream, guaniciale. They also had a couple desserts to offer including an apple crisp with ice cream, but I had enough to eat. The check with Toast QR code was presented, which was $41.73 with tax and before tip. I was able to pay online. The friendly staff chatted a bit about restaurant offerings in the area and requested feedback. I really enjoyed the food here and the Italian tapas concept. You could definitely tell it was plant-based as well (which is fine, just not my preference!). We got their Cacio e Pepe and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. I was a big fan of the Garlic Bread Twist! I could honestly eat this by itself. The Garlic Bread wasn't overwhelming the Rigatoni it was paired with but very flavorful. The Rigatoni was okay to me, it wasn't the usual Rigatoni pasta shape and I thought it could've had stronger flavors/seasoning. I really enjoyed their Cacio e Pepe, the cashew cream sauce was very tasty and highlighted the black pepper and cheese flavors. At first I wasn't a fan of it. After a few bites, it grew on me!
