I came down to Redondo Beach with my beach cruiser and, of course, Murphy's Law kicked in--when I got there, I discovered I had a flat tire. I was staying just down the street, so I called around and found Sprocket Cycles nearby. I pumped the tire up enough to ride over, and as soon as I got there one of the mechanics came right up, was friendly, and offered to take a look. He replaced the inner tube and also noticed that the rim strip inside the wheel was worn, which may have allowed one of the spokes to cause the flat. He replaced that as well and got me back on the road quickly. Really appreciated the friendly, fast service, especially since I was out of town and just wanted to get back to enjoying my bike ride. They definitely helped me out of a jam. Highly recommend Sprocket Cycles! read more

I do not recommend this shop because they strung me along for three days acting as if they would be willing to do a fitting for my bicycle. After my third phone call with them they just flat out told me they weren't going to help me. I find this ironic since they do mention expert fittings on their site. Very disappointed. read more

Paul is honest, trustworthy and very ethical! He did not sell me the bike I wanted because he explained how it was not the right size and fit for me. I strongly recommend him and his shop for any bicyclist! read more

Very good service along with very helpful employees and advice. Great, well stocked bike shop. I never hesitate to refer my friends to Sprockets ... A+++. Thank you, Sprocket! read more

They are the best! Always kind, helpful and efficient. This is my place to go for any bike issues, they fix things quickly, they've gone above and beyond and have not charged me if it's a small adjustment. Great service, highly recommend them! read more

If you're looking to purchase a new bike or be fitted by someone who truly understands their craft, go see Paul. I have low back and hip issues, and was looking for a more comfortable road bike. Paul patiently went above and beyond...he educated me on different brand/model road bikes. He never pressured me to purchase anything. It was evident that it was more important to him that I make an educated decision. I reached out to him a second time, about 1 to 2 months after our initial conversation. He was gracious enough to re-fit me on my current road bike (I had previously been fitted by a different bike shop) and the adjustments he made toallowed me to ride in a more comfortable position. I felt like I was on a completely different bike. The refitting coupled with our initial conversation was all I needed to know I'd definitely purchase my new bike from him. He made the process so painless and made sure all my questions and concerns were answered. Paul, you are incredible at what you do. Your customer service...impeccable! You always greeted me with a smile, never rushed me, and made sure I was comfortable with my choice. I'm so grateful...thank you so, so much! read more

Great and timely service on my bikes at reasonable prices. Provides good information on options.

The experts are here so I like to bring my humble little beach cruiser for service. I would happily recommend this location that has been in business a long time and still offers good advice and good service. Highly recommend. read more

Paul the owner of Sprockets spent a lot of time with myself and my grandson picking out and sizing the proper bike to fit him. All our questions were answered and we were quite impressed with his knowledge of the bike. We wanted to bring our bike business to a local company instead of the national stagnant big box which is supporting cheap labor. As a current customer of Sprockets we are glad to support local companies and build local as opposed to supporting other economies who don't have our best interests at heart. Thanks again Paul with Sprockets.....we will be returning customers!! David Giordano and grandson read more

Goat a sweet deal on a year old trek saving about $450. They offered a free tune up at one month and gave me a free water bottle. Staff was knowledgeable and educated me on how to keep it running good and take care of chain, gears, derailer etc. read more

Dropped in for replacement brake pads. Marcos was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great to support this business with great service.

Tremendous customer service. Made a relatively small purchase and they went out of their way to make sure everything went well, quickly installing the item for a fair price. read more

The guy took the time to explain what the service included and what may be needed. When I picked my bike up he took the time to explain how to clean the chain on the bike and even showed me. The customer service here is amazing. I will continue to bring my bike here although there are closer ones to me. Thank you! read more

Great business to buy a bike from. Also a great place to get your bike worked on after you buy it. Recent service was top notch and even offered to clean the bike with my tune up. its like I just picked up a brand new bike! Always professional and knowledgeable on all bike related items too. I have been here many times and always leave with a smile. Thanks Paul! read more

Great local bike shop with an owner (Paul) and staff who are personable, knowledgeable, fair, and helpful.

Took my bike in for full service and needed some replacement parts. extremely happy with the outcome - my bike looks new! The owner took time to thoroughly explain everything and was very transparent about what he thought I needed and the cost. Don't go anywhere else for your bike needs! read more

Cute spot to get advice or repairs for a bike or to pick out a new one. I'm not quite in the bike buying market yet, but we brought my husband's bike there a few months ago to get a "check up." They said they didn't have any availability (or space) for us to leave the bike then, but we brought it back a few days later with an appointment. The staff was friendly and I feel like the repair prices were fairly reasonable. They have a few parking spots behind the building, fyi. When we picked up the repaired bike (new tires and a new spoke where one had broken) we also wanted to try out some electric bikes. My husband was allowed to hop on one and ride it around the block. I was a little more wary to do that (ugh I haven't ridden a bike in ~15 years) but I did sit on a few. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to test out some bikes or need something repaired on your existing one. read more

Came in to buy a beach cruiser . The man I assume he was the owner has a personality of a rock . Told him I ride road bikes it like I said nothing . He rushed me through his store I felt he wanted me out . Not the welcome expected from a beach commuted bike shop. He asked his staff to do something the staff looked at him like . You do it . I shouldn't have spent my money there . I told him I loss my house in the Altadena fire . No empathy. I hated the experience. read more

Bought a Trek FX 3 from Mike at Sprocket over the weekend. Excellent experience. Mike was super helpful and very knowledgeable. I didn't feel rushed and he knew his product inside out. After less than satisfactory experiences at other bike shops in the area, this is now my go to for anything involving biking. read more

Great store with very kind staff! A friend and I visited to buy a new Trek bike and some bike cleats, and the service this store provided was top-notch. They have a pretty good selection, and everyone at the store was very knowledgeable and willing to help. Can't wait to be back! read more

Pro shop - friendly staff. Comfortable leaving my bike there for any repair and service.

These guys and gals are top notch! I just wish they were closer to mid LA where I live. I was searching for a youth Trek precaliber in 24 inch wheels. For a Christmas 2020 gift for my son. Radioactive Red is a GREAT color and he absolutely loves it! They woman who helped me on the phone was great, patient, knowledgable and able to help me make it work out since I could not pick it up in person and wanted to pay over the phone. read more

They don't work on electric bikes now?!! Great business plan, at least 69% electric bikes and they won't change a tube or break pads on an electric bike. Wow!!!! was a good place but someone decide electric bikes didn't need any work Come on guys, seriously... read more

I really hate posting this update since I'm not directly blaming Sprocket Cycles. I bought my Electra eBike in April. I took it to Sprocket for a complimentary tune-up in September. They didn't provide a "loaner" as promised when I made the purchase so i called Uber to pick me up. When I returned to pick up the bike it had a braking problem (which didn't exist when I dropped it off). I brought the bijey back on and they couldn't repair the problem so they ordered a part. It's now been 3 months and no part arrived and my bike is collecting dust in my garage. I complained to Electra. They claimed due to the popularity of eBikes replacement parts are backlogged. Electra said the part I needed would arrive the first week of November. Well that was 6 weeks ago. This is ridiculous and I can only say I'd you're considering an eBike check out reviews first. Knowing what I do know now, I would not of made the purchase from Sprocket. read more

Once again, I brought my bike in and the owner stopped what he was doing and spent a significant amount of time with me to make some repairs on the spot and I was out the door. Customer service is top-notch. Love, love love, Sprockets bike shop!!!!! The best. read more

DONT TAKE TOUR BIKE HERE THEY RIP YOU OFF! Took a bike in after having someone rent it and crash it. Couldn't get the derailleurs or brakes right and had a clicking sound coming from the bottom bracket. I took it in and told them about the noise and brake and they said I'd have it back in a day... so three days pass and I finally get a call it's ready with "what do you want us to do to it there's nothing wrong." And I get there and they charge me $99 and the bike feels ok, I ride it a few weeks later when I return from a trip and the noises are all still there. Took it to another bike shop and they said the bottom bracket was bad and that they had stripped the screws for the front derailleur and the rotor was still warped they just opened the brake clamp too much and that's why my brakes were going all the way to the handle bar to barely stop. Very disappointed and waited a couple months to write this because I was so mad about being ripped off after taking the bike to another different bike shop. read more

For the past 12 years I have taken my bikes to be serviced at Sprocket and it would be hard for me to find another bike shop that I could trust like I do these guys. Even when I ride by and have an issue with my bike they help me and give me good advice. It's nice to have a shop that knows your name and bike when you walk in the door. read more

Paul, Omar, Mike and Team are the best! Resourceful, no road bike problem too hard for them to figure out. My riding platform has changed to trainer bike and they still take wonderful care of me and my bike. read more

Go here! Great shop! Cool staff! Park in back. Had a issue getting a bottom Breaker bearing out. I beat the heck out of it. Nothing. I took it in to see if they could get it out. I dropped lt off about 1pm that had it done at 5pm. When that called, I could tell in his voice he was chuckling a bit. He said you weren't kidding that thing was stuck! It took all 3 of us to get it out. I said thank you!! When I went to get it, I noticed only 3 people working. That's going the extra mile!! I think most shops should have sent me walking. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the folks at Sprocket Cycles. I have been going there for service on my bikes (road & mountain) exclusively for many years, and have purchased bikes from them as well. Their technical expertise and level of service is outstanding! I just took one of my road bikes in there the other day for several upgrades (including the drivetrain). Omar did an absolutely fantastic job. My Specialized Tarmac feels like a brand new bike! I highly recommend Sprocket Cycles. read more

Ok, so you don't have a size 52 road bike that I wanted to try so you want me to leave- I can't look around? That's the impression I got from Omar, trying to scurry me out of the store- what a jerk. I was looking at a bike that caught my eye and asked the price and he said these wheels are not included and these wheels alone cost $6500. Omar said, "because it's special and it's made out of carbon". I trust Omar represents "Sprocket" of how well versed they are in the road bike industry. I own a size 54, although it fits, it's a tad big for me and a 52 would yield me better-fit options. Yes, Omar, a carbon road bike, and I also have "special" wheels that are made out of "carbon". Thank you Omar for your precious time. read more

My 11 year old son out grew his old mtn bike. Mike new exactly what my boy needed and had us in and out of the shop in 10 minutes. The bike was in a box and they had it to build it. I asked how long for them to built it expecting 1.5 days. Mike called me in less than 2-hrs and said it was ready for pickup. Mark gave us excellent service upon pickup even while navigating other customer needs. I would Sprockets to all !! read more

Imagine that you are on vacation, riding your bike down to the beach and as you start to pedal, your chain jumps off...inboard....and wraps itself up in your wheel and spokes. You spend 20 minutes messing with it, you are alone and don't know anyone in town. Next, you look for a bike shop...hopefully in walking distance and you find this one. It's 1.5 miles and you have to keep your back tire lifted the entire time. When you get there, they send you to the back and Mike greets you with, "Wow, nice work!" or something like that... He pops your bike on the stand and before you know it the wheel is off and he's gotten the chain aligned. He checks everything carefully, adjusts the derailleur, adds a little air to the tires and gives some instructions. The diagnosis is that the derailleur hanger is bent and needs to be replaced. There are eleventy billion derailleur hangers, for all the different makes and models of bikes. I have ordered 2, his suggestion, "that way you always have a spare" and they'll be waiting for me when I get home. Thanks, Mike, for taking a pretty crappy moment and making it better!!! read more

We recently purchased two Trek e-bikes and are thoroughly satisfied with them. The customer service at Sprocket Cycles is amazing! We came to the shop with some questions and Marc M was helpful and knowledgeable. The icing on the cake was the test ride, and we love the e-bike experience. We are now riding regularly at the beach and have no fear of the uphill ride home. Thank you Sprocket cycles for bringing quality equipment and excellent customer service to the South Bay. read more

I think they're the best! Basing on 2 other bike stores that we have visited, this is still the best one. Mike was the guy who helped me find the right cruiser bike with 7-speed. He was friendly, patient and professional. They have few other uniformed guys who work with the repairs. The boyfriend got his bicycle from here too so when I got mine,he was able to get a discount. I was really satisfied with my new Venice Bike! It's super comfortable and gorgeous. read more
