Friend and I rented e-bikes from Redondo e-bikes this past weekend and had a very good experience. I rented the Lectric Xpedition 2.0 ahead of time online as I'm looking to purchase a cargo bike for my daughter and I. I wanted to ride without her first to get a feel of it as I've member owned a cargo bike let alone an ebike. Prices were competitive and staff was very polite and accommodating. Lastly, the location is primo as well, right next to the strand bike path (a few blocks away). This e-bike rental and sales shop was one of the most awesome places I ever stumbled upon. First of all, they rent a wide selection of e-bikes for cheap as dirt, actually a lot cheaper than most shops rent bicycles. They have many sizes and brands, from 20" fat super 83 style to cargo to lightweight 26" and large tire step overs. It is 5 minute ride to the beach trails, and the roads are not busy. These guys are honest, kind, thorough, and repair whatever you need them to-- we even took a bike in there that we didn't buy from there and they fixed it for us for free simply because we had recently bought another bike from them. I love this place! I bought my son's first e-bike here. Alex and Ronnie were so helpful. I didn't know much about e-bikes and I needed an entry level bike. We purchased a Freego which was a great value. Great price, great range, and great battery life. My son loves it, and I love that it's safe and a good first bike. My boyfriend has had his bike sitting in the garage for months!!! We took it to a shop previously near a coffee shop near by. The wheel had came off and we hadn't really checked what happened. Supposedly there was no hope but to pay half a grand and replace the motor, and back wheel. Needless to say it had sat for a while building dust. Finally this weekend we decided to compare it to the other bikes we had. We were able to put it back together ourselves for what it took less than an hour and everything was working BUT it was making a noise. At last, we arrived at a shop where the owner would actually listen to us, allow us the time, be kind, and was honest. The brakes needed adjustment! He quickly figured out the brakes were also out and that's what was making the noise. I'm assuming at the time of damage the brakes took a toll along with the wheel. What was previously set to be half a grand ended up being priced at $60!!!!! What a difference! In Redondo, a beautiful touristy place, you're going to find a lot of shops. I'd chose this one over the rest for the following simple reasons: WALK INS! - as long as the shop is open he's available! KNOWLEDGE - this man knows his stuff! LOCATION - accessible plaza with parking The owner is also a great man with an amazing story. Support your local business and give this man a try if you're in the area. You won't regret it. I visited the store to test ride some e-bikes and first met Art and Ronnie. They were both super helpful and explained all about the bikes before I test rode them. This was first time on an e-bike and it was really fun. I had visited several other ebike shops but in my experience Redondo E-bikes sold me on their experience and I returned when I was ready to get a bike. On my Return, Alex helped me as I had an e-bike incentive voucher to use. He was very familiar with the process and walked me through every step. I went to the location in Pasadena. It is in the plaza in the Metro Station, near the Pasadena Central Park. The shop looks very hip and clean. Murray was extremely helpful, polite, resourceful, honest, and professional. He told me about the $500 ebike rebate if you are a customer of Pasadena Water and Power. They had a lot of ebikes and they are kind enough to let me test drive. Tips for people who are interested in a lightweight ebike, the Urtopia Carbon Fold is one of the most lightweight in the market right now at about 36 lbs with the battery. It is also foldable so you can put it in a car easily. I got my ebike and have so much fun riding it around town, and getting some exercise in.
