Good, not great. Got there at 5 so the wait wasn't bad, but had I come later and waited over an hour I would have been disappointed. Hubby had the Texas Ribeye, which was flavorful, the the accompanied garlic risotto was undercooked. I had the lamb chops, similar experience. Hubby and I both had the ice cream for dessert, and while the waffle bowl was tasty, the ice cream itself was just so-so. Never a bad meal from this place. One of my absolute favorites in the area! The menu has a fantastic variety (even with COVID changes) and there is something for everyone in the family. If I could give this place an extra star, I would!!! We stopped in for dinner on busy Friday evening and, boy, were we in luck! We were a party of four and quoted a half hour wait (not an issue since we didn't have reservations and it was a weekend night). They seated us in under the quoted time in a lovely booth! We ordered the shrimp cocktail and artichoke dip for appetizers and they were both very large portions and delicious! Some of us ordered the house salads or soups with our meals. The salad was light and delicious. They also brought a very nice bread service that included soft, whipped butter. For dinner, we ordered a mix of seafood and steaks. Everyone's meal was cooked perfectly. The sea scallops were tender and moist. The steaks and accompaniments were on point. We split a dessert of the toffee ice cream and it was a great portion, large enough to share. On top of the great food, we had a great server called Gary. He was super nice and very attentive, even on a busy night. If you're looking for a place to dine, Springfield Grille is not to be missed!!!! read more

I'm not familiar with restaurants in Butler County, even though I only live a few miles south. I've only been to some in Cranberry, which are fine, but not nearly as fancy as this with the white tablecloths and "clubby" decor. I was there on a WED in January & I was surprised as to how busy they were, including a group in a private room. The main dining room was full as was the bar seating area. I guess I should not have been surprised as the parking lot was was mostly filled when I drove up. It's a nice atmosphere inside - a place I'd take someone I wanted to make a good impression with as first looks mean a lot. I was actually there as part of a larger neighborhood group that split us into two tables of about 12 each, so it was a bit tight, but not un-manageable.The other tables weren't that close to our two, so I could hear those who sat at my end of the group. I'll also note that the menu had a wide selection, so there was something for virtually any whim. We ordered a crabcake appetizer, which was quite good as the actual crab content seemed high. The iced tea was also quite good by my standards; I like it strong, which it was. My main item is where some trouble crept-in. I ordered a whole-meal salad with some tweaks to the listed ingredients. Long story short, it didn't come out as I ordered. The waitress seemed to have taken the order & wrote it all down, so maybe the kitchen didn't follow the instructions. But if that was the case, the waitress should have noticed it was wrong & not served it to me. So I sent it back & it came back almost right, at which point I decided to eat it as-is, not too far off from my request. I'll attribute the issue to the large crowd, perhaps larger than they staffed-up for. But at a fancy place like this, they're still supposed to get things right as my tweaks weren't anything out-of-the-ordinary. It was good, nevertheless. One oddity I'll note is that I expected a place such as this to have put bread & butter on the table during dinner, but they didn't, or at least not for our group as very few of us ordered sandwiches. That leads to another oddity - - a group member ordered a "plain hamburger" It was brought out sitting on a plate with a few garnishes beside it; no bun. I would not consider a plain hamburger to be served bunless, but I guess that's another way to look at it. But it was a mostly good experience on a busy night there. read more

It's a stretch giving this place three stars. Eight family members met their two days ago. We had eaten their many times in the past when we were in town for a family reunion. My brother-in-law ordered the rib eye steaks. I am not exaggerating in saying I could hardly cut the thing with a knife. It was tough and absolutely no flavor. Both of us compared notes the next day and shared the same opinion...worst steak ever! On the other side and supporting a higher than a one star rating, my wife loves the chicken Marsala. Others had a brown sugar brined pork chop they seemed to like I will say the house salad was a good three star too and while not the best, saved the meal. I will try to dissuade the family from returning their next visit. A word to the wise...do not order steak at this place. Anything but steak They should be embarrassed for bilking customers with this entree. read more

We had a wonderful lunch at the Springfield Grille in Seven Fields. Nicole was our waitress and she is a lovely young lady who provides prompt and expert care. My husband had the crab cakes and I had the croissant with filet and both meals were amazing. The only problem was try to choose a meal because there were so many great choices. My husband said we have to come here more often. The banana cheesecake was a good way to end this delightful meal. Thanks to Nicole we really enjoyed everything beginning to end.. We went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Had been there years ago and loved it. The food, service and ambiance were great! This time, the food and service were good, however the food wasn't hot. Also, an up charge for asparagus of $3.00 is ridiculous when you only get four pieces!! I love their food and during normal circumstances I would give this restaurant 5/5 stars; however, with Covid-19 I had some reservations about dining here. While there are signs all throughout the restaurant that customer's need to wear masks, 90% of their own staff had their masks dropped below their noses or under the chin during service. In addition, we were seated closer back towards the kitchen, in which you could see every single one of the staff with no mask on back there. These are the people preparing the food! I understand wearing a mask is uncomfortable and not ideal, but if you are in the service industry, serving customers, many of which may be leery of starting to dine out again, this made me feel uncomfortable. It seemed like the rules were posted, but nothing was being enforced, let alone with the staff. While dining, I also noticed two separate tables get up and ask to be relocated with another waiter (one properly wearing a mask). It wasn't just our party that was feeling uncomfortable with this situation. In addition, our waitress messed up two of our meals. When we pointed out the mess up, she did not even seem apologetic about the mishap. We were disappointed in the experience this time around. Food was good, service was subpar and the covid-19 guidelines (minus the social distancing of the tables) were practically non-existent. read more

First time going, got sat by host at lounge and never had the chance to try a drink or food as no one ever came our table. Server next to our table came to tend to her guest twice and didn't even acknowledge us to either say someone will be with us or she will be with us. Area was not very busy and dining room was slow. This is a very nice place. We wanted a burger and fries and both were nice. Very little flavor but nice. The fries were hand cut but lacked the crispness you typically from that side. I guess they were nice. And why was my bun so greasy. Every time I took a bite my hands were virtually covered with oil. Last night I had a terrible meal and lousy service. It started with the two hostesses pointing where I should go to meet my party and not showing me to the table. There was no one in the lobby waiting to be seated. My steak was was over cooked and arrived dry and cold. I'd equate it to shoe leather. Our waitress spent 5+ minutes complaining about other patrons. We were expecting a nice dinner in a nice atmosphere. Listening to the waitresses issues with other patrons is not what we were expecting. This place has gone down hill from when it first opened. We are taking this place off our list. read more

This has been a favorite for me for a long time, and a go-to place for a special night out. The atmosphere is elegant and romantic with gilded framed pictures and old print on the walls, dark booths, and a tin ceiling. There is a large bar area in addition to the large dining room, as well as a private room for parties and small gatherings. Easy to get to and ample parking. The food never disappoints either. Their house salad is a sweet and salty combination of mixed greens, candied almonds and blue cheese. While meat dishes are their specialty, my favorite thing to have is the Thai Shrimp appetizer with the house salad. It is possible to spend from $12 for a really good burger to $31 for sea bass. They always have specials as well, and at lunch they are reasonably priced and sized. Their staff is friendly and well trained. On our last stop-in for lunch we had beef tips with spaetzle and sauerkraut, a seasonal and satisfying option. read more

Springfield Grille was recommended to us by the hotel staff at the Doubletree. We were looking for a dinner out, but not any of the 'usual' fare you find near hotels. We did not make a reservation on a Saturday night (I would definitely recommend that!), but they were able to seat us within 15-20 minutes. The food was incredible. I ordered the Filet Oscar (after double-checking that the crabmeat was fresh, not frozen) and ate every bite. Hubby ordered the sirloin and crab cake 'steak and cake'. The dinners come with 2 sides, and our waiter Jason made sure we knew about all of our choices for sides (I got a chopped salad with homemade Ranch dressing that wasn't even on the menu). The baked potatoes are kind of a specialty, so we both got those, too. We were given a menu with wine by the glass, but after a few questions, we ended up with the bottled wine list. We choose a red and were so pleasantly surprised to have the wine served at proper cellar temperature! We usually end up asking for ice buckets for our red, but this was perfectly chilled and stayed the right temp throughout our meal. Lower your prices.... Food is not bad and they get good crowds however, the price of there food and the portion size is not good. This is Not a family place. Drinks other than happy hour in the bar only are too expensive. As long as people keep going there is no reason to raise the food quality or portion size or drop the prices. Recently my wife and I went for dinner and drinks. Normal mixed drink one each appetizers and entree bill was over $165. Without tip. Time before that it was a bit less at $152 for both without tip and we left a bit hungry. So based on the crowd, they will not care about my review but perhaps if enough people read and comment more people will force them to address the issue. This is a small chain restaurant so that kind of what you get food wise. Hope this helps you. read more

I won't be back. I ordered a sirloin steak, medium well, top came out charred but was rare when you cut into it. Sent it back and it came out burnt on the outside but was medium well and dry on the inside. The steak was tough and stringy to chew. The only thing I ate was the baked sweet potato as I left 1/2 of my steak on the plate. The waitress was not even attentive enough to notice. It was an expensive sweet potato. While sitting there in disgust, while my other dinner guests have finished their meal as I was waiting on mine to be recooked, I saw three other steak orders being delivered by the manager. I went to the original restaurant in Grove City, PA over 20 years ago and there is a reason you still see more locations open and the parking lots filled. Whether the bar side or the dining room side, this place is consistently solid. Their balsamic chicken is the best around and their steak selection is on point! Pricing is great and the service makes this place a great value. It's a perfect blend of rustic atmosphere and fine dining. Definitely check this place out. The food is excellent! read more

Wonderful dining experience this evening. The meal started off with a basket of delicious bread and wonderful sweet potato muffins. The muffins were amazing and I could have just eaten those all evening. Had a great house salad with crumbled blue cheese, candied pecans and mustard balsamic dressing. I went on to order the Zing chicken pasta and asked our server to swap the Alfredo sauce with a marinara. The server was kind enough to ensure that I did enjoy spicy dishes as he felt that the hot peppers were indeed quite spicy. I said of course I'll have it that way. My wife ordered the same dish but kept the Alfredo. The server suggested for her that if she didn't like the quite spicy peppers that she may want to swap them out for mushrooms. She really enjoyed his suggestion. Our daughter ordered a child's sirloin which was enormous. The steak came out a bit rare and the server immediately whisked it back to the kitchen. When we delivered the original steak, he was thoughtful enough to ask her to please cut the steak to ensure that it was to her satisfaction. When she cut and the rare steak appeared he said and rightfully so, oh that just won't do. We found our server, Jason to be awesome. We all eat out a lot and our family and our friends that were with us, all made the same comment about how attentive Jason was. We agreed he was one of the best servers we have encountered in quite a while. He made great suggestions, was very attentive and did a great job. We will definitely be back. I have been here on several occasions for lunch and am a fan of the associated restaurant group. The Springfield Grille serves as one of the classier choices with a nice dark wood interior and random pictures on the walls. The staff here is always friendly and attentive to their customer's needs, ensuring you have a pleasant dining experience. I really enjoy their diverse menu. Although it's on the smaller side, it offers a wide selection of dishes as well as a wide price range. On my latest visit, I was stuck between ordering a wonderful sounding ham bbq sandwich or salmon in balsamic reduction (the salmon won out). The salmon was very artfully cooked coming apart very delicately and served over top a bed of fresh veggies with an avocado. This meal hit the spot for lunch, feeling light and healthy but yet filling to last through the day. The meal had great flavor, just like the previous four or five times I've visited here. This is a nice classy restaurant to visit. Good for special occasions, or if you're just feeling like you need a nicer place to eat. read more

A new favorite of mine! I love sea bass, but you don't see it on many menus in the Pittsburgh area. They have it and it is delicious!

For those of you who don't know, this restaurant is part of the Springfield group who also own and operate the other Springfield Grille's in Boardman, OH and Mercer, PA, as well as the Iron Bridge Inn, Rachel's Roadhouse, the Log Cabin Inn and Hickory Bar & Grille. I have been to all except the Hickory and they are all great. The Springfield Grille in Mars presents a very formal front complete with white linens and the wait staff dressed all in black. The bar is well stocked and the wine list is long. We went in to celebrate a big occasion, but this is the kind of place you can go for any reason. They have a long list of appetizers and the menu includes steak, pork chops, rack of lamb as well as pasta, sandwiches, burgers, etc. We opted for the artichoke spinach dip appetizer. It was really yummy. For dinner, I had the the Chesapeake jumbo lump crab cakes. They were delicious. I never miss dessert, so we shared a Kentucky derby pie, ala mode. It was super good. I think one of the things I liked best about the restaurant was Kerry, our server. She was always there to answer questions, get us anything we needed, service was great. Also, she did not try to rush us. We went on a weekday, but would recommend reservations for the weekend. This place was packed when we left and people were waiting for a table. I hosted a bridal shower in the party room at Springfield Grille. The event coordinator was really easy to work with and the contract was simple. We had brunch and it was DELICIOUS. My husband and I went to the Melting Pot for my birthday last week - - our romantic dinner for two ended up being almost $30 more expensive than the six person dinner we paid for last night at the Springfield Grille. Yes, I said six people. Adults. I'm not even sure how that's possible. Mars is a magical place. Our server was extremely attentive and the food was excellent. I ordered a really interesting beet and shrimp salad with feta and a honey mustard vinaigrette dressing - loved it. The only mildly annoying thing about the Springfield Grille was the location of the restroom . You actually had to walk through the bar to get to the restroom which meant that I had to walk my newborn baby through the bar to change her diaper. There's something about a baby that just kills the mood of a happening bar. My daughter and I we like a mobile caution sign warning patrons of the consequences of going home all tuned-up with your bar-buddy. I'm sure the Springfield Grille's bar sold way less shots that night than usual. read more

This is the sort of spot you might take a visiting great aunt or grandfather, if they're visiting from out of town. The food is familiar, comfortable...wait...maybe the word I'm looking for is boring. That's it! Blast-from-the-past Orange Roughy, ho hum average steaks, salads that were popular in the 80's and a cocktail menu that would be more comfortable in a Southside joint full of college coeds. My Cajun rubbed ribeye topped with bleu cheese sounded so promising! Rubbed? I think not. No Cajun living or dead would claim that insipid seasoning, if one was even applied at all. The accompanying Brussels sprouts and potato hash wasn't worthy of a second taste it was so greasy and slimy. Hash it was not. The kid played it safe with a grilled chicken salad and came away disappointed. She pronounced it, "bland." Our server was friendly, but never to be found when needed. At least the surroundings were warm as far as atmosphere, but the air conditioning nearly froze us out. Hot coffee, please! Bottom line, this is a very expensive spot for very average food and drink. read more
