My Son took me there for Mother's Day. I was greeted promptly and seated quickly while my Son parked the car. Our server arrived quickly and offered drinks. When my Son sat down we decided on the Spinach Artichoke dip. Olivia, our server, did forget my boys drink. No big deal, Mother's Day is the absolute worst day of the year to be working in a restaurant! I speak from 45 years of being a professional server. Olivia took our dinner order and we enjoyed the dip. Our entrrees were served and everything looked great. Until I cut into my steak. I ordered medium rare but it was undercooked. This was my first time at Log Cabin Inn and I really enjoyed it. My mom, sisters, and I went here one evening for dinner when we were in the area. It was a Wednesday night and there was a wait for a table. The hostess told us 20-30 minutes, but it was more like 10! Once we were seated, our waitress greeted us very quickly and took our drink order. We ordered the Pumpkin Pie Martini and Autumn Bourbon Smash. Both drinks were absolutely amazing, but the martini was fantastic. It tasted like dessert in a cup. We ended up getting another round! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was not very warm when it was delivered to our table, but was very flavorful. For dinner, we ordered three different burgers and an order of meatloaf. We had a great time at this cozy restaurant. First of all, the service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was great and reasonably priced. I had the surf & turf burger with Claw and knuckle lobster, Old Bay cheese sauce, corn, fried egg, matchstick potatoes, open face Texas toast. Second time eating in at Log Cabin Inn. Food was decent. I got the fried fish sandwich with a side of fries. Fish sandwich was tasty. Fries were decent as well. Didn't blow me away but I enjoyed the meal. Service was ok. Needed to request refills in water a few times. The restaurant itself was about 100 degrees in the corner they placed us in. Everyone in our party felt uncomfortable. No paper towels or air dryer in the bathroom so had to dry my hands on my pants. Overall, decent food, but unpleasant dining experience. read more

This cute little rustic cabin is so welcoming when you first arrive from the decor to the people it's just adorable. Once you go in and get seated you see a beautiful view of the mountains and it's just breathtaking. Now for the food. All I can say is everything was perfectly delicious. The calamari was probably the best I have had here in Pittsburgh since moving to the area. The Ribeye was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. I have absolutely no complaints about it. The broccoli was cooked to the perfect crunch to softness ratio but was just a tad to salty for me (I do not do salt). I also got an Espresso Martini and it did not disappoint. I put off writing this review because to be an Elite means you have to submit positive reviews. I cant do that. So here goes the review: The log cabin is not what it used to be. I got the fish and was very disappointed. The oil must have been too hot so they could cook it faster, but it doesn't work. The fish and fries were on the burnt side. Great place for a yummy meal. Love the decor and atmosphere. My daughter and I shared the Alexandra Chicken and the sauce was superb (picture is just half the full dish). Food is pretty good. I was surprised that the portions were so small. It's been a while since I had been here since they improved their parking area. I got the balsamic chicken and as you can see I got one scoop of potato. I also got a side of mashed sweet potato and it came as one scoop. The scoops reminded me of a cafeteria style where everything is measured exactly, very institutional like. The chicken was warm when I received it and it seems a bit dry. The mozzarella wasn't melted, it was just a little snip for each chicken. I do want to note that I got the stuffed mushrooms for my appetizer and they were delicious. The entree was not impressive to me, not for $19. Some of the other food at the table, steak, salmon, was pretty good, I thought better than mine. Service- was superb. Our waitress visited with us and was very attentive. She went over the deserts after our meal and I asked which of them were made in house. This is very important to me, I don't really like Cisco, etc kinds of deserts. Homemade is special. The only one that is made there as of now is the peanut butter pie. It was ok. Honey roasted chicken thighs, goat cheese, fresh jalapeños, and hot honey flatbread for app... Decided to make the drive from Pittsburgh to meet friends first a holiday lunch. I had never been here before. It was a cute log cabin with plenty of parking. Inside was very warm and inviting with a fireplace in one of the rooms. I ordered the French onion soup that was perfect, not over salted and very good. I also got the fried chicken sandwich which was a great portion & fried perfectly. Hubby had a hamburger with egg. He enjoyed that it was cooked perfectly medium rare. I will say the service was pretty slow. The place wasn't crowded when we arrived, but was crowded when we left. We had a rather long wait, but they have a nice waiting area that has heaters and benches. Once we were sat down our server was very quick to get to us. She was attentive and kept our glasses full. As we're heading towards Ohio, we came across this restaurant as a result of another recommendation from family. This place offers a rustic type of atmosphere for dining. However, the service was quite good, and the menu selection was delightful. Be aware that brunch is only offered on Sundays. So we were a bit disappointed on that. All the entrees ordered hit their mark. The fries was terrific as it was done in boardwalk style. Portion size was large as well. Visited recently for the first time in quite a while. Way back when we would eat here almost every Friday. We stopped on a Tuesday, not expecting a wait, but found there was a 30-40 minute wait time. I'm guessing they were short staffed, as there were open tables. We decided to belly up to the bar and avoid the wait. I decided to order the chicken, goat cheese flat bread. My wife got a steak. We both got salads. I have to say the salad was really good and the dressing was ample and really delicious, seemed to be homemade. My flatbread was decent. A little skimpy on toppings on the ends and sides of the flat bread with lots of exposed crust. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly. The bartender was very attentive. We ordered a slice of their peanut butter pie to go. It has always been our favorite, in fact I would often receive one in lieu of a birthday cake. We got home and were somewhat disappointed to find the pie has changed dramatically, gone is the thick granola crust and the pie is smaller. The actually filling tastes basically the same. The only real negative of the evening was all the ridiculous noise from the kitchen you hear while eating at the bar. It was cooking noise, it was the pans, plates,etc. being what sounded like slammed in the washing area. The couple beside us yelled to us, can you believe how much noise there is from that kitchen, it's crazy. To give an idea of how loud it was, I could hear him, but my wife could not and she sitting directly beside me. I'd return, not sit at the bar and probably not order the pie. :( read more

We came here for a night out after driving by this restaurant for years and consistently noticing how busy they are. We had reservations and did have to wait a little bit for our table, but nothing too extreme. It's clearly a historic building which obviously has a ton of character. We were happy with our quick and friendly service and had a great meal. In particular, we had a jalapeno appetizer stuffed with cream cheese and bacon and surprisingly being covered with a raspberry sauce. The wedge salad with a horseradish dressing was nice (needed some tomatoes though!) and their specials were well prepared. Highly recommend their prime rib. read more

The place was packed but we managed a high top table in the bar area. The waitress was really nice and busier than a cross between Jesus Christ and an octopus. **Terrible Management!!!** I have been coming to this Restaurant for many years, watched it grow into what it is today. The food has always been excellent and the atmosphere is breathtaking. I would meet here with family over the years, always made my reservations online or would call before the online reservations were available. I made 2 reservations on April 29, 2025 for a party of 8(the online reservations only allows a party of 4) for Saturday May 10, 2025 @ 12:00 pm and put in the note for the restaurant that I have 2 reservations one in my name and one in my daughters name and we would be dining together (party of 8). I called on Thursday afternoon to confirm the reservations and was told my reservations was "CANCELLED" but my daughters was still good. WHAT!!! I am traveling from Ohio, 2 hours away. My daughter and her husband are traveling from West Virginia and the 2 other couples are from Pennsylvania. The Management would do nothing to rectify the situation. UNBELIEVABLE!! I wouldn't return to this restaurant if they offered me a FREE MEAL!! Thanks for ruining my Mother's Day weekend Log Cabin Inn!!! I'm only one person in a sea of millions but what they did and didn't do is UNACCEPTABLE!! Came here while on a ride up to Zelienople on a Friday afternoon- so happy we decided to stop!! We had an excellent time chatting with the very friendly staff, and the food and drink were 10/10!!! We arrived at about 3:30- which ended up being perfect timing because we avoided the dinner rush. I think it's telling when a place is booked for the entire evening with reservations- the locals know this is the spot! And as we tried just about everything on the menu they had to offer, we figured out why! We started with: Bloody Mary's, old bay vodka/ great. Lobster and shrimp cake, pretty good. Sausage stuffed mushrooms - amazing and loaded with flavor, definitely a must try! French onion soup- perfect, in my book the best I ever had. Dinner: my date had a pork shank which was on special, and I had a 6 oz filet, mushrooms added, snap peas and salad for the side. The pork shank was presented beautifully with a side of what looked like loaded mashed potatoes. The filet was better than Ruth's Chris, which I told one of the servers that was so sweet to check in on us and see how we liked everything. First, we put our names in to be seated and they apparently forgot to write them down. We watched people who arrived after us being seated. I went to inquire and found out we had been forgotten. First time here last week. My wife got a chefs special pumpkin tortellini. Nice portion. She liked it. I ordered the creole chicken and shrimp. The chicken was descent. The shrimp were so blackened, the cajun spice was like breaded on and it was so black. I didn't send it back because we were guest of another couple who was paying. We stopped for dinner after a 4 pm show at The Strand. The food was excellent. I had a sirloin steak salad with their homemade balsamic dressing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the dressing was very good. My wife had the Alexander. It was two good size chicken breasts with sundried tomatoes, roasted artichokes, mushrooms and cream sauce over mashed potatoes. She enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent.
