Really great course. Fun and challenging! Some long par 5s but well worth it. It was my first time using the GPS carts and they were nice other than if you got stuck in the restricted zone you got locked up. It was sort of confusing the zones if youre not used to the course. The greens were in great shape. I will say though, the alcohol is up there- pretty pricey and they dont have much food options.... especially if youre gluten free like me. I don't get it, it's the same price as cranberry highlands for soooo much worse of a course. It's a goat track that charges the same as one of the best public courses in all of PA. read more

This is a cow pasture. Fairways are clover Cart paths are dangerous Greens are not well maintained It is not worth what they charge. There are other courses that are much better. My first time here and I liked it! Challenging course, greens were nice, and it was well kept. The clubhouse was pretty nice inside with a bar and patio looking over 18 green. Although the hotdog at the turn was premade wrapped in foil sitting in a roaster. After getting that I noticed the fresh hoagies, I would have rather had that. Over all it was nice, got backed up at times, but it was a Saturday morning so that was expected. GPS on the carts is nice also. The guy working in the pro shop was nice and energetic. My wife and I enjoy golfing at Strawberry Ridge. The challenging valleys do slow the pace of the game, which I'm more than fine with. The food is excellent. Recently, my wife and I split the fish sandwich, which is huge! Definitely returning!!! read more

Unfortunately this was one of my favorite courses but the lack of control on the starters part the last time here was terrible. A Sunday morning tee time and they let a 6 some off at 10 AM ??? On the first 6 holes there were 5 groups waiting or playing the same hole. Ridiculous. read more

Im new to golf. Yesterday I went to Strawberry ridge where I've been using the driving range a lot and wanted to try nine holes on my own for the first time. When I went to pay for the round I mentioned I was new to golf and the woman said she had to ask the manager if I could play. She came back saying the manager was not going to let me play because I'd be too slow. I observed how empty the course was and she said they were worried about the "1pm walk on rush". (It was about 1230). She suggested I come back some weekday morning to play and gave me a free bucket of balls for the range. I want to know if this is standard or what? I felt disrespected, and I feel sour about ever coming back. I suppose I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The positives: nice layout on the front 9 (I only played 9). The woman I spoke to on the phone after the girl mentioned below was very helpful and polite. The negatives: -signage - it wasn't readily obvious whether hole #10 was actually 10 or 1. I had to ask someone. -#7, I couldn't tell which fairway was mine (I played the wrong hole). -sandy and grainy greens -shaggy fairways and shaggy tee boxes - it felt like I was teeing off in light rough -the girl I spoke to about a tee time on the phone said she didn't know about twilight rates and then sounded put off when I dare asked 'Is there someone you can ask?' -$1 charge for using a CC. It's not the $1, it's the fact they're charging me for making their life more convenient. It's 2014, just stop. Telling people you get a $1 discount with cash would sound a lot better. -the girl behind the counter (sounded like the same one from the phone) didn't know if I could tee off at 7. I mentioned the website had numerous available times after 7 and she still seemed confused. -there were grounds-crew kids hanging around the greens waiting on me to finish putting. On one green, the kid actually dropped a handful of balls to chip, waiting on me to finish. I go out to golf to be outside and enjoy myself. I don't want two sprats practically dry-humping me while I putt. Pull back and get out of my back pocket. You're paid hourly, take advantage and wait for me to finish. I can't see myself coming back at the prices they list. This is a $25 course in it's current condition. If the course is new and growing in, then it could be a nice track in 2-3 years. However, if this is as good as it gets there, I'll take my money elsewhere. read more

Terribly mis-managed. It takes 3 hours for 9 holes on a weekend. They do not regulate pace of play. They charge too much and give too little back. Spend the extra $10 and spend your money more wisely at cranberry. NEVER AGAIN read more

Quite frankly repulsive. Very overpriced we had four New York strip steaks all ordered differently medium to rare all came out medium well. Worst meal I have ever had eating out. I would not go back if the food was free. read more

This course is great, I was shocked by how pretty it was. Course weaves in and out of some mountaineous terrain giving beautiful views. Hole 2, 3 and 14 I lost several golf balls on, cliffs! Have some cheap Nitro balls handy that you don't mind losing. I think my buddy and I lost 20 balls between us, but we suck at golf. The long holes were wide fairways which kept it fair for scratch golfers. This course doesn't need water or sand, it has 500 foot dropoffs. I'll be here a lot, I was surprised how quick you can be there from Cranberry or Franklin Park. Just a 20min drive but area feels like you're lost in the mtns. I'd give six stars if I could. read more

This golf course is our favorite!! There aren't very many bunkers and the grounds are well maintained. The course is challenging and the pace is always good. My husband and I have played there over 10 times and we have always had a great time. You can order food from the restaurant on the 7th hole and it's ready for you at the turn. Not only is the golfing great, but the food at the clubhouse is fantastic. We absoutley love the Prime Rib & Barley soup!! It's so good we sometimes get extra to go so we can heat and eat the next day. When we first tried the soup we couldn't believe how good it was. The owner happened to bartending and he mentioned that his brother owns a nearby farm. He gets his meat there and that is one of the reasons it's so good. read more

Course was in decent shape, greens were very hard, ok layout. The worst thing about this course is the people that are there. Clubhouse workers have an attitude and treat you like and outsider. It was also hillbilly heaven, I played on a Sunday morning and everyone was wearing cutoffs and playing veerrrrry slow. I had Yosemite Sam in front of us and Duck Dynasty driving into us from behind while I'm waiting for a group to get off a green. Overall bad experience. I drove from New Castle to play and was very frustrated with the whole experience and wish I never played there. Normally I would say maybe I just had a bad time but I can't see someone else having a good time with the workers and the people they let off on a Sunday morning. I gave it two stars for the course alone. read more

We hosted my sister's bridal shower at Strawberry Ridge. The team was so easy to work with, accommodating, and helpful. Food was yummy (try the cranberry walnut salad!), and the downstairs space had pretty views and was very private for our group since it was the golfing off-season. This course is a curious mix of good and bad. I would be willing to bet money it was an amateur design, as the layout traverses some rather tough terrain and there are three holes here that are nearly unplayable. Cliffsides do not make for good golf architecture. Like so many family designs, once again they kept too many trees, and a links style course would have made more sense. The green complexes are nothing out of the ordinary and overall it is just an average course, but the hilltop setting and quiet make it a pleasant day out...don't expect to be wowed, but don't expect a dog track. My first time playing was today and I played 18. it was overall a good course. the greens were very well maintained and pretty quick. everything else was a different story. the fairways were frustrating and some of the holes were too short. overall a decent course but not worth a 30 minute drive. read more
