As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. If you order the right thing, you'll no doubt be pleased.

Springfield Diner is an excellent place to go out to dinner with the family. The best side order you can get is the home fries. The home fries have lots of flavor and have just the perfect texture. The chicken fingers that are my favorite thing to order are very crispy and cooked just right. Lastly the apple crumb cake is to die for. This cake is also filled with flavor and the apples are delicious. I would say the service is good for the most part but it gets really busy in the mornings on weekends. When you get to your table you are greeted by friendly people that do not come anywhere close to being rude. The service moves really fast when it comes to serving your food. I would say that the food and the service are a great thing about the Springfield Diner. The food at the diner is affordable for the most part. I would say some of the items you can order can be a little pricey but the bill range will probably land about 20-40 dollars depending on how many people. Now the décor reminds me of a diner from the future. The diner has a 80s look to it but also looks likes like it could be from the future. It has a bar that you can sit and eat at that reminds me of the 80s. It reminds me of the future because of the look of the outside. The diner is always clean and the glasses and silverware is always spotless. It's a great safe and affordable place to go to and won't disappoint you. I gave the Springfield Diner four stars because it has great services but could use some improvement. This is a family runned business that has a friendly environment and excellent food. I would recommend going to this diner if you are looking for just a night out with the family because it is a casual restaurant. FIRST THING FIRST!!!!!! What an amazing looking dessert selection the moment you walk in. Being the last of the 5 stops we stopped at in the Springfield area, maybe should have made it the first or second being that they do not serve alcohol. My friend and I ordered light fare meals. Myself, 2 eggs over easy (perfectly made, then again its just eggs, lol). My partner ordered the same with a side of sausage. We both got desserts to take home and Im about to enjoy late night treat (Eclair) and he took home some GIANT cookies. Very reasonably priced. Waitstaff was nice and extremely friendly, left a 30% tip being that we both work in the business. Yes, 30% was only $6 and some change I believe but that is how we do tip. 30% for extraordinary service, 20-22.5% for average, and 15-17% for below average. Also asked to speak to a manager to ask a few questions and compliment the waitstaff and cooks, no surprise how polite and welcoming the manager was. Always ask to speak to a manager to see how long and what their attitude is. Left very pleased and stuffed after all the eating we did today. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN!!!! Next time, It will be be our first place to dine out and try their dinner/lunch menu and maybe some more desserts to take home :). Thank you Springfield Diner! read more

Food was average at best for a diner. Ive eaten here 25 to 30 times before. Everytime the food quality, check times, and staff attitude gets worse. Only thing that may bring me back is there side of scrapple. A true philly guy can appreciate a big side of scrapple. I was in love with this place the first few times the opened up. Its getting much worse and its noticeably slower. Also, Id be more inclined to spend $10-20 on take home desserts, but their prices are WAY to high. Id rather spend that type of $ at a real bakery. Also, ATTENTION DINER MANAGEMENT/OWNERS: 3 eggs over easy, toast, and 2 meat sides should never take over 20 minutes to come out. Where are we? Denny's? Ive been in this business for over 12 years and im almost 31. Ive never seen a place go from the top to the bottom as fast as u have. I used to send family/friends there all the time. Unless there are changes made, none of us will be back. Id rather order Imperial, lol or honestly go to any of the other 10-12 diners within a 5 mile radius. I've been to this place twice. The first time was okay, the waitress isn't completely with it in the sense that she can handle taking orders and refilling the drinks in a timely fashion. Second time which was less than an hour ago, will be the last time I set foot in this establishment. After ordering with the same waitress and getting our food, I noticed that she forgot portions of my order and actually gave me the wrong thing. After bringing this to her attenion, she brings by a manager who was completely rude to me, yelling at me almost like it was my fault got my order wrong, even though I actually pointed it out to her on the menu when I was ordering. It was a completely horrible experience that has soured me on this place for good. In additon the rice was bland, the fish was tasteless and the portions of this particular order, (seafood something or other) were very small and it costs almost $20. I would stay away from this place. Rude management and inept staff, tasteless food, never again. read more

Best diner I have ever been to hands down. I go here about once a week with some guys from work and every person I come in contact with that works there is extremely nice. The one guy that works there ( I think they call him KRASSI) Was probably the best waiter I have ever had. He memorizes our groups order everytime and Not once has it been wrong. He is really friendly and actually makes us want to come back each week. THe food itself is fantastic: Burgers = A Cheese Steaks = A- Wraps = A- Fried Foods (Chicken Fingers, French Fries etc) = A Sandwiches = A Soups = A Deserts = A+++ I recommend this place to everyone as it as a great place to go! read more

I've always had good experiences with the food and service at the Springfield Diner, but a recent visit was disappointing. While eating there a few nights ago, I found a long black hair in my food. The waitress quickly took the plate away and returned to offer a free dessert. I politely asked the owner if the meal could be taken off the bill, but he responded with a snarky attitude, saying, "We offered you a piece of cake or something!" and refused to adjust the check. I ended up paying, but I feel others should be aware. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but the owner's attitude was unacceptable. I won't be returning. read more

A very mixed bag. Walked in and practically froze on the spot. Bring a jacket in summer. Pleasant waitress, bit of a long wait to get food. No bread basket :-(. Bacon cheeseburger was juicy, huge, and delicious - would definitely recommend their burgers. I had the Grecian Press, a panini on ciabatta of gyro meat, tomato, feta, and tatziki - delicious! Milkshake was good, but what diner does not give the overflow cup with the milkshake glass?! This place is just foul. Portions are huge but look and taste like something I wouldn't even give to my dog. Our waitress was ignorant and clearly did not want to be there. The woman at the front has such an attitude and snapped at my husband and I. There was also an unpleasant bald man near by just glaring. Like most diners, the service here is very quick. However, I feel like the food is so-so. It's not great and it's not terrible. I ordered breakfast for the first time, I usually get dinner or appetizers. I ordered a belgian waffle and it was pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the breakfast sausage. I also tried a piece of black forest cake during a previous trip, it was really stale and nasty. I usually only come here when nothing else is open, but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more
