If you arrive early, be sure to grab a number from the binder on the water cooler table near the front door. The staff also walks around offering drinks while you wait, which was a nice touch. Around 10:45 AM, everyone lines up according to their number. We were #24, and it took us almost 40 minutes to reach the front and place our order. We ordered: -1 lb moist brisket -1/2 lb garlic sausage link -1.5 lbs prime beef rib (feeds 2-3 people) -CS tacos with pulled pork (comes with 2 tacos) For sides, we got the coleslaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, cobbler, and smoked beans. I really liked the smoked beans and cobbler! Everything was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. All of the meats were flavorful, juicy, and tender. The CS tacos were good, and I highly recommend getting the pulled pork to go with them. The prime beef rib was the standout for me. They only offer it on Saturdays, so definitely get it if you're there. The staff was friendly and attentive. Despite being busy, they checked on us frequently and even helped clear our table multiple times. Thanks to the incredible service, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere, I had a great start to my weekend!

Rudy's was a solid choice for chain BBQ before all the boutique BBQ joints started popping up. The…read morebarn style setup, butcher paper and food crates might give out of towner the Texas BBQ experience they are looking for, but for locals, the food doesn't quite meet the expectation. Our party of five ordered a few things to share. The moist brisket came pretty broken up, it felt like they were padding the weight with a lot of smaller side pieces rather than serving quality slices. The pulled pork was so fine, it was quite mushy and lacked any real texture. The sausage and potato salad are okay, but nothing stood out. The price is slightly cheaper than the boutique spots in the area, personally, I'd rather spend a little more for noticeably better quality BBQ.

Great option for breakfast tacos!…read more My family and I stopped in since we were craving breakfast tacos. We opted for take out since we wanted an easy Sunday morning. Ordering was easy and very efficient. I appreciate the way they label the tacos. The tacos were packed with meat! The flavor of each was good, I just wish they were warmer. For the price, the value is definitely there.

We were met with some of the kindest service I've received and even got complementary Lone Star's. All of the meat was amazing, especially the brisket and smoked turkey. There is indoor seating with restrooms but it was nice outside so I opted to check that area out. There is plenty of outdoor covered seating, with a tea dispenser and fixings off to the side. The ice is in a Texas-style, wood-paneled ice box. There is also a nice wide hand wash sink and paper towels in this same area. The moist brisket was a thick mixed slice consisting of both moist and lean, maybe the cashier didn't hear me. They serve Goodstock by Nolan Ryan, which is his premium line that's either Prime or Angus, so I'm not sure which they buy here, maybe Angus. The German style sausage is a little peppery, but with paprika or cayenne, not black pepper. It was ok. The item I liked the least. It's a fine-grained sausage and smooth and just tastes generic or store bought. The cajun potato salad was interesting and good..not great. They do give you a massive amount for a single serving. It's a tad spicy due to the cayenne. The banana pudding is very interesting and definitely homemade. It has a caramel swirl and broken chocolate pieces sprinkled on the top. This was my favorite part of the meal, but it's also very sweet. The owner let me know that they smoke the bananas and the sea salt which goes on top. The background music is good here...classic country so you definitely have that Texas vibe. Last of all, I didn't really like their iced tea here. Not sure what it is. The homemade bbq sauce is passable but goes well with their meats. Next time, I definitely need to try their homemade boudain, the ribs, and the Mac and cheese.

Luckily for me they were open today. My last meal in Texas was at Gessner's!!! I placed a tog order for a 2 meat plate. Lean Brisket and St louis Ribs with a side of baked beans and creamed corn. The brisket was super moist and perfectly cooked. I love the rub they use. It has a little hint of heat just a little. The ribs we the same with a tiny bit of sweet. The one and only sauce they have has a little of heat and sweet although the rub on the meat was enough without the sauce. The baked beans would win competitions!!!! The creamed corn was just as good with a little kick. I wished I wasn't leaving early in the morning. They also have some breakfast items. Awesome experience and food!!!! 5 Stars is well deserved

That was disappointing because I was going to order a link but the guy confirmed it came with a link. So I also got 1/2 pound of brisket. And I got an order of bread pudding. BRISKET was ok, not much flavor. I guess I assumed it would smell or taste like it was smoked. I didn't try the wings but it looked like it had flavor. 1/2 pound was 3 slices of brisket. POTATO SALAD was ok, it was like mashed potato salad or like a mousse. MAC N CHEESE was ok. It was shells and cheddar cheese, that's all I tasted. But the kid ate it, no comments. BREAD PUDDING was $5. And all you get is a condiment full. It was like a dough ball soaked in sauce and candied pecans. If you go, recommend ordering small portion to try. I ordered this about for dinner for 2 adults and a kid.
