I honestly do not understand why Spring Creek in Duncanville only has 3 stars on Yelp. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and everyone at the counter was incredibly friendly. Huge shout out to Jesse, who was absolutely fantastic. He took the time to help me navigate the menu and make recommendations, and he was spot on with every single one. The food was seriously great. The baby back ribs were tender and full of flavor, the cracked black pepper sausage was amazing, and the marbled brisket was some of the best I've had in a long time. Top it off with a banana pudding that was incredible (thanks again Jesse)! Everything we ordered was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the whole experience was far better than this place's current rating suggests. Was visiting from FL and a Texan took me here. The food was great. I really enjoyed the chicken. The seasoning was perfect and the smoky flavor really shined. Also ordered at my table was the beef and sausage, which were also enjoyed. The fresh baked bread is incredible. I really enjoyed the beans as well. I didn't get to try the potato salad, but it looked good. You can't go wrong with the loaded baked potato either. It was huge btw. I also liked the flavor of the bbq sauce they serve. We got some pecan cobbler on the way out. Ate it later and it was very tasty also. The service was great! Everyone was very nice and hospitable. We were given warm bread without even asking for it. I called to tell them and was asked if I wanted to come back and get them. Uh....no! The manager got on and offered me a free lunch the next day, which I declined. He supposedly credited me back for the missing rolls (cost wasn't the issue - it was the principal of the order not being complete), which I've never received. Food was good but the young African lady passing the bread skipped my table two times. In the back section, my family was the only Mexican table filled with African American, but we were the only ones not receiving bread? Had to go ask for bread instead of having it to the table. Been bring my family since the late 90's, specially after church service on Sundays, love the place but today, what happened? I'd hate for this place to go down. The condiment area was a mess, serving tongs were everywhere, onions were out, pickles both the quarters and sliced are everywhere and almost out! Wow, please manager get a hold of this! I just ordered a whole smoked chicken for $21.95 the legs are so small they could have been part of a wing easily. I went to this location off of Wheatland in Dallas today at 4:11 pm and OMG. I was in the to go line and the young Man behind the counter who was cutting the meat said the n word so loud it made me look down there because I know I wasn't the only one who heard this. To make matters worse there was a Manager standing right by him and he did it said nothing. Everytime I got here the young kids who work here are out of control. This place needs some serious training or they will shut down. Horrible service and no professionalism must be required to work here. read more

It reminded me of a Sizzler Steakhouse from back in the day. Kinda like a cafeteria. You get your plastic tray and move down the line to get your food. They're always friendly, they're always in a good mood, and they're always personable and friendly. The vibe never seems to change. oh, and by the way, the food is very good! I consider myself a restaurant connoisseur with over 250 restaurants that I save, visit, and evaluate on my Yelp app and categorize them in a favorites folder. So, I will start off by saying they were very busy, however, my experience was not pleasant or will it be repeated. They actually run their all out going orders through the same 2 guys that are cutting meat and the other 2 that are serving the side dishes. So the line of people in the restaurant waiting to eat are waiting so to go orders can be fulfilled. So down to the food- the pulled pork was pretty awful looking and full of fat- the sliced beef was so dry that when I cut it to eat, it actually flipped off my plate onto the table. Thank goodness I had some BBQ sauce , because it was the only way I could get the beef down along with water! The potato salad was good as were the dinner rolls. Waited for our ice cream, finally went and asked if I could get some and the girl said someone would be around- but it never happened. Bottom line looking for a new place to eat BBQ. Just had some at Pig Pen BBQ in Dripping Springs (was amazing and equal in price). Not ok with paying for food that is close to being inedible. The food was good but I really want to complain about the getting bread . I waited for the person to come around and give me a bread when I first sat down . Then I wanted more never came around . I got up to walk to the to go counter and asked for a roll then they told the person who passes bread . They proceed to go back and forth and still never comes by my table. To start, they sliced 2 itty bitty pieces of turkey for one meat, 2 tiny pieces of brisket and 4 slices of sausage. My husband got ham and the same other meat. It left room to be desired. I wanted barbecue anything for the holiday weekend. I remember there was a Spring Creek Barbecue coupon in a received Valpack mailer. I dug it out and off I went to the Westmoreland Road location off of I20. So pleasantly surprised by the level of GREAT customer by staff. Location was clean, smelled good, and staff smile as they welcome arriving guests. The counter staff - named Taye was absolutely wonderful. She kindly took order, answer any order questions, ringing the order efficiently without rushing me and provide a free ice tea to sip while I waited. She allowed me to view each item in the order, before bagging, to assure a complete order. She provided some of the best customer service I've seen in quite a while. Then when I spoke the manager, - his name was either Mike or Mark - I could see his positive professional mark on this location's atmosphere. He greeted me with a smile, some causal conversation, listen to my compliments. He thanked me, shook my hand and then help me out to the car. Very personable. I will surely return to this location to enjoy a goodmeal, good service, and good food, even if I don't have a coupon!! Give these folks Kudos!! read more
