This is a very peaceful place to enjoy some good food at an awesome price. Staff is very friendly and service is great. This is the only good Chinese place near us and we're always pleased with the delicious, fresh, hot food and very fast pickup time. Usually 10-15 minutes max. Just wish they delivered sometimes (hence 4 stars). We've tried many meals and have never been disappointed over the last 2 1/2 years. Very pleasant, friendly service. Especially the very young lady who normally takes our orders. Crab puffs, egg rolls & spring rolls are good too. We especially enjoy the low mein dishes. Larger egg drop soup than we normally get elsewhere. Wish it had peas, but it's always very hot & good. Large portions too. read more

The bf's parents live in spring, and on a visit we decided to order Chinese take out for dinner. The interior of the restaurant is small but nicely decorated. They had our order ready to go, and it was done so quickly that the girl at the counter was already calling us to confirm we were coming to pick up our food on the drive there. The bf ordered the happy family, triple delight, and orange beef. I have never been a fan of orange beef. The total was $30 for three dishes. In comparison to Chinatown, this is a lot pricier then expected, but maybe that's because of the area? We got to the house and opened up the bag- came with three dishes in medium sized containers, three boxes of white rice, a box of free sugar fried biscuits (like you get at some Chinese buffet), and fortune cookies. I tried a bit from each dish. The happy family (labeled as various assorted vegetables and meat in a Mongolian sauce?) Was greasy and sweet, but not entirely the flavors I was looking for. It was very one dimensional. The orange chicken (orange peel flavored chicken) that we ordered was sort of gummy and overly sweet. I'm not a fan of sweet dishes so I didn't go back for either, and that may bias my liking for either dish. The triple delight (stir fried veggies, shrimp, beef, chicken) was the best received in terms of flavor, but it was swimming in sauce and we only found one shrimp. It was too bad. The only upside to the meal was the inspirational fortune cookie I ate at the end. All in all, I think this place is pricey & mediocre. I probably wouldn't go back if I had a choice. They delivered fast, but the sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour shrimp were both dry, overcooked, tiny pieces wrapped in a puffy batter "shell". The crab puffs were good, and the egg rolls were passable, and the rice was good and sticky. They get points for that but the entrees were, like I said, not good. read more

Came here because of the reviews on yelp. Wish I could score it higher but I can't. The place is clean, the staff was very friendly and the prices are good but the food was just average. Had General TSO's and Mongolian Beef. Also had Hot N Sour Soup. The chicken and soup were just average but the Mongolian beef is what really threw me off. It was sweet like the general chicken was. This place is great. We have lived near here since the time they opened. We have watched their children grow up over the years, and now they help with serving On busy days. I like everything on the menu, and over the years I've tried everything, but my wife almost always gets the triple delight. Their egg rolls and crab puffs are some of the best, that I have ever had. Great local Chinese take out place and only a few minutes away. Excellent egg rolls and spring rolls. Tastes fresh, order is always right and they're quick. This is a terrific Chinese restaurant. I am sorry for your experience Claudia G. You thought the food had no flavor, but I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food. If you like spicy food tell them you would like it extra spicy. They are always happy to accommodate you. My favorite dish is the Mongolian beef. The special wonton soup is pretty good too. I'm a new york native and this is probably the worst chinese food i've had in my 10 years in houston. my neighbors swore this would be the best chinese i've ever had and i hate them now. i may even move to live near people who don't lie. no matter, i have major regrets and wish i could get my $20 back but instead i'll just throw out the mushy spring rolls, bland fried rice and really horrible general tso chicken. thank goodness we didn't get the crab rangoons-i can only imagine. if you're in the area go to Great Wall on Aldine Westfield. The portions are smaller by comparison but the taste is spot on. i even am a fan of their egg foo yung which comes with an oyster sauce (west coast style) instead of brown gravy (east coast style). i know this won't matter to many but after spending days reading reviews online about how great this place is i figured i'd be the first to offer a truthful, flavor based one. read more

This place was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had. We had general tsos chicken and triple delight Mongolian style with crab puffs and egg rolls. General tsos was literally soggy chicken in a bath of brown sauce devoid of flavor with broccoli, I couldn't get past a few bites. Triple delight was alright, nothing special but rather oily. Appetizers fairly standard. I would never order from here again and had I been eating inside the restaurant I would have sent the chicken back. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I walk in and immediately the two ladies start eyeing me and whispering. I'm debating on whether to walk out or not, but whatever, I was already there. My take out order comes out pretty quick. Thank goodness because they could not have made me felt anymore uncomfortable. I should have just walked out because my Pad Thai was not Pad Thai. It was stir fried noodles with no hints of lime or peanut flavors. I could have easily got the ingredients from Kroger next door if I just wanted bland stir fried noodles. This place is a complete joke! Went there About 10 times over a 5-6 yr period. It usually was decent depending on the cook and time of day . Don't ever order at lunch. There prices are cheap and so is the service. I always check my order before I pay and if it's wrong they usually replace it with attitude and nasty looks but none the less they have in the past. Well this time my wife picked it up and didn't check. When she got home it was wrong. I Ordered Chowmein. Mein means noodles in Chinese. So I called and they said come on up we will replace. Half way there a different lady called me back and told me I hadn't ordered what I said and told me they wouldn't replace it. I asked what she thought I had order? She said a dish that I didn't order. When I pulled out my receipt of course I was right and said so. She tried the Jedi Mind trick and when it didn't work she got nasty. I said to her if a $6.75 meal was worth losing a customer of long standing than cool. Before I left I asked her what Mein meant in Chinese? she said "Nothing it means Nothing" that was a bald face lie. Thinking I didn't know any better and she could run over me. Anyway if the resturant would act like this over a $6.75 meal I thought to myself what other corners do they cut. Needless to say. It was cooked awful not to mention wrong. I ended up giving it to my dog and I kid you not she wouldn't eat any of it either. Not even the beef. I told my wife "Smart Dog" If you are smart you want eat at Spring Chinese.
