Wow, what a delightful find! I went with my friends and we were greeted by the owner, Christina (also delightful). We asked her to select off the menu for us and she kept bringing out the most colorful, wonderfully spiced, locally sourced, Lebanese food with her personal twist. For dessert she brought out Baklava and although I'm not a fan, as it's way too sweet normally, I loved her slightly sweet version. This place is a gem. It's an adorable little place and I wish I lived nearby because I'd be in here for lunch every dang day. Staff are super friendly, bathroom is clean, and the food is outrageously good. I ordered the grain bowl with cauliflower, and every single component in the bowl are The tabbouleh had plenty of parsley (it ain't a garnish) and the chopped apples was a delight (genius addition). Came here on a Sunday morning for lunch and my goodness this place is amazing. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. This is because the service at Spread Kitchen Sonoma was stellar. Carrie was one the most attentive servers I've ever experienced. It's funny because I am used to crap service, so you know something's different when you are cared for. Cristina is the chef, and the food she has made here are amazing. The combo dip has pretty good portions of baba ganoush, hummus, and muhammara, which paired well with the kofta. Bonus points for a well-decorated plate. The dirty fries were killer. Cristina later told us she used zaatar as a spice, which she imports from Lebanon. The wine menu was intentionally limited and very affordable, and Carrie was great at recommending which pairs well (and my god they did). All in all, this was a lovely spot in Sonoma. Ordered the falafel al la carte which came with a tahini side, the fried cauliflower, a small beet salad, and of course... dessert! The falafel has a super crispy outside and a dense but still fluffy inside, like essentially perfect (nothing at all like those dry grocery store cold case boxed falafel)! Fried cauliflower is pan fried with spices, and not the battered deep fried kind. It's the perfect side and felt light, but without compromising the delicious; I'll prolly get the cauliflower on repeat bc it was such a refreshing switch up. Beet salad was fine... if you're feeling a well-balanced leafier beet salad, but I was kinda hoping for the chunky beet-prominent kind. But the baklava!!! This is a small, casual restaurant but the minute you walk in, the aromas of all the Mediterranean spices greet you. We were there for lunch in a rainy day. We started with a beautiful chai tea which came in teapots to steep. And the water was hot! None of the luke warm that you get in so many restaurants. Started with the hummus. Deep flavors and smooth texture with a drizzle of olive oil and pickled veggies and olives in the side. Perfect way to start. I had the grain bowl with chicken. Again, flavors were spot on, chicken was moist and a hearty serving. My son had the falafel lavash sandwich. He loved it. I love this place! I order food from here more often than I'd like to admit but it is just that good. The falafel is the best I've ever had and I often order a dozen because they are even good when reheated. Their lavash wraps are fresh and tasty, all the meats are good but I love the turmeric cauliflower. The dirty fries are delicious. Love their Brussels sprouts. The hummus is good. But our favorite is the baba ganoush - my two year old would eat a whole bowl if I let him - it's so so good! Incredible food and service. We had several items in our party of 6 and we enjoyed everything. Exceptional flavors on the meats. Falafel was one of the best we ever had. Get at least 3 dips. This is such a great place. The food is excellent, I love that they have outdoor seating, and as a vegan, I particularly love that I have tasty options at this place! I was especially fond of the jackfruit protein option but they did away with that a few months ago so now there's only falafel (which I love but it's fried so not the healthiest option) or cauliflower. Amazing. The za'atar fries are honestly the best fries I have ever had anywhere in my entire life, and the dipping sauce is to die for. Turmeric Chicken Shawarma wrap was so flavorful and a ton of food! Tried it with the hot sauce on the side and everything was so delicious. Their house made pickles are also the best pickles I've tried at any restaurant and next time I'll need to buy some more on the side. Loved this place and it's a new favorite. I got all my food to go for the first visit but there is a dog friendly patio for the warmer days, and I can't wait to come back and try everything. I've been waiting for a middle eastern place to open up in the area for a while now. The food is good and well put together, but it's not the best. I tried the chicken dirty fries, the beef dirty fries, falafel, and shawarma plate (the chicken is best in my opinion). My only gripes are that the food isn't necessarily authentic Lebanese. It tastes and feels different from traditional Lebanese/middle eastern cuisine. For example, the kofta doesn't really look like traditional Lebanese kofta, but instead looked like meatballs (tasted a little dry too). I feel qualified to say this because I am Lebanese myself. Also, I know inflation is an issue right now, but the prices are a little on the higher side while portions are on the smaller side. It's good for what it is though, and if you're itching for some "middle eastern" food and don't feel like driving 30 minutes away for a better option, then this will satisfy your itch. P.S. This is a minor peeve of mine, but the dining music selection could do a better job at fitting to the restaurant's theme. Listening to some middle eastern music while eating could definitely heighten the customer's experience as opposed to regular pop music. Just my opinion. read more

My favorite new find in Sonoma! Every single thing we ate was terrific! We had the fries (perfectly crispy and so well seasoned with zaatar), the falafel wrap (falafels were perfectly crispy) and the wrap had delicious vegetables with a side of crispy pickled veggies and a touch of mint which I really enjoyed, and then the trio of dips. The mahumara was so good it even beats my own which I make from Yotam Ottolenghi's recipe! All the vegetables were perfectly cut, crispy, and fresh! They also offer Lebanese wines! And this venue has seen a lot of places come and go and I don't remember the patio area being opened before, but it is now and it's really enjoyable. I'm trying to eat more salads, and this had so many delicious tidbits including local Watmaugh Strawberries, feta,and lots of other great discoveries that somehow all worked together!
