I sure like Spork's food and overall vibe. It hits all the nice fusion notes that you want, and deserves it much beloved status. The love is evident everywhere: they really care about doing things right. But: this place is fancy enough that you shouldn't have to order at the counter. The food is good enough to support that. If they did do table service it would elevate the overall restaurant experience to semi upscale/casual fine dining/etc. Honestly if they just moved to table service and did it well, they could start selling $150 bottles of wine and maybe muscle wild rose out of the local top restaurant spot. Food wise I would give this place four stars, I hesitated to give three stars because it's so darn good. If they moved to table service it'd easily be a 4 or 5 star place. read more

The staff is super friendly, the venue has a very modern, clean and comfortable/ approachable atmosphere, non-gendered bathrooms, and a variety of seating arrangements (indoor, front, and back patio). As for the food, I was hesitant at first, noting that they had Mexican, Peruvian, Szechuan/ Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese influenced dishes (among others) . That sounds a little ambitious/ odd. But I found that the food is reasonably priced, and everything we tried was delicious, and very well presented. It's fusion done right. The Dan Dan noodles were a large portion, the pork was flavorful and had a slight kick (and the peanuts/ green onion complimented everything really well) . The fried chicken was sweet/ tangy/ delicious and crispy, and the elote is some of the best I've ever had. The mint apple lemonade was also tangy, sweet and delicious, so whereas we didn't try their drinks, I'm confident they are also great. Highly recommend this place, and excited to come back and try the other dishes. read more

Charbroiled flour tortillas gave lunch tacos a toasty twist. The catfish was crispy, not soggy, with a superb portioning of coleslaw that cut the kick of the cajun spiced goodness. Additionally, the catfish portion was satisfactory and paired beautifully with the house margarita. The dan dan noodles left a little to my chopsticks' imagination. I'll admit I did splash some soy sauce on the steaming meal to add a bit more depth. Still was a hearty and fulfilling choice with inspiration drawn from Szechwan cuisine. Lomo Saltado: potato meets beef and radish. Comes with a sweet bowl of rice and a delicious crema for topping. Not my favorite, but my significant other gobbled it up. Unfortunately, he is "not a poet" and cannot provide more descriptors for this dish, so you'll have to form your own opinion. He did comment that the starch to beef ratio was a bit skewed in the tuber direction. Stainless steel, self-serve water was charming. The wait staff was "straight and to the point", just like their description of the house marg. Patio seating offers a respite from Bend's summer heat. I'd definitely return to sip another delectable cocktail and dine from Spork's fun, fusion menu. read more

The food and drinks were so delicious with options for all our different dietary needs in our party. Spork has vegetarian and gluten-free options that are all great to taste and easy to find. The staff was so nice, even with how packed it was and the food came out very quickly for how many people were in Spork. The only reason I wanted to reduce my review by .5 stars is because of the crowdedness, but it is 100% understandable and should not be a deterrent for you coming, rather just a warning. 10/10 recommend! :) read more

A spork is a portmanteau of spoon and fork. This place is like an asian-mexican-american fusion restaurant, so right off the bat the name of this place doesn't tell you anything about it or what food to expect, already a bad sign. Upon arriving on a busy Saturday night, there was a long line the ended right when you walked through the door. Having never been here, the assumption is to just wait in line and hopefully a waitress or host would be with you shortly. Well at this place you stand in line and just hope that you know what you're doing because nobody explained anything to anyone until we were about halfway through the line and closing in on the cashier where we were finally given menus and told to order before getting a seating assignment. Already very weird to wait in line, then get a menu to order before you even have a seat at a packed restaurant but luckily it worked out and after ordering we were told there was open space inside for us. The food was good. We ordered a salad off the specials menu which was actually quite nice, along with their sweet and spicy fried chicken (basically chicken tenders in sauce) and then pork sausage noodles. Again, the food is fine, it's not overpriced and the portions are pretty good, but it's just very basic and feels like a bunch of high schoolers in the back prepared it based on the very similar ingredients present in each dish. If the place wasn't so busy, I probably give it 4 stars and would come back, but if you're coming on a weekend, prepare for sub par service and just decent food. read more

The flavors of Spork are always on point. Every dish we've had is good and for our kids who are pickier eaters the tacos work great. It's a bonus that you don't need a reservation to eat here but beware that it can take close to an hour to get your food sometime. They do their best to make it an OK wait by serving beverages in line but if you're hungry you may find yourself hangry by the time the ordering process is complete and food is finally in front of you. We've moved to take out instead of dine in and that's worked for us. The process is easy and the timing is pretty accurate so you can plan accordingly so you pick up your food while it's fresh. read more
