Terrible customer service. Rude. Will not take returns even if items are unused and unopened within minutes of purchase. Extremely over priced!!! Also they made life miserable for Angelical Cat rescue, So they eventually left. They don't care about the animals just making $$$. The owner Eddie pretends to care but really only cares about making money. I was a customer in years past but now it's definitely gone downhill. To have the owner say your wasting his time because you asked advice about a supplement and you bought almost $100 worth of supplies is shocking! Love the freezer selection of pup cups and other snacks + that they carry a lot of organic and high quality brands. Gentleman working the register was SO helpful. Was so excited to check this place out and it did not disappoint! There were SOOO many cute outfits that I couldn't pick which to get my pup! And there was a whole wall of different treats! The man working there was very nice and helpful with any questions we had. I ended up getting a hoodie for my pup and some Earth Animal no hide treats! She LOVES them so far! What a lovely shop filled with everything you could want for your pets! I was staying at a hotel a few blocks away and stopped in to buy my babies something to give them when I returned home. The owner Eddie is very kind, taking care with each customer if they ask questions or need help. That said, he's not pushy in the least. I enjoyed meeting the resident shop cat Chloe, black cats rule! I managed to spend $50 on some really high-end catnip toys (only the best for my kids!) and a cool small dog toy. I'll definitely go out of my way to stop in here next time I'm in NYC. If I lived locally I would do all my pet shopping here, great selection! (P.S. my cats went nuts for the "Pussums" catnip toys. We came here the other night to buy a harness and a leash. I liked how they have pretty much anything you need for your four-legged furry friends. The staff is really friendly and personable. We left with with a harness, a lease, a toy, and a box of wipes. You can also bring your fur babies in to try out the fittings for the shoes, clothing, harness, etc., and in the case that they are not with you, you can always bring back the item(s) for exchange if they don't fit. We stopped by Spoiled Brats before heading back to CA to bring something for our pets (60lb shepherd mix and diluted calico). Eddy was incredibly nice and helpful, and he recommended us some toys based on what we told him. He was thoughtful and set expectations with chew toys for my dog, understanding that every toy will be destroyed if the dog really wants to. Tiny little pet store in the Theater District. A lot of things for cats here are hidden in plain sight. Check out the catnip patches at the register that are made in the USA. They also have some selection of cat collars and toys but you'll probably do better here if you're buying for a dog. Oh, and they do allow dogs inside since I did see one lady here with her dog on a leash & the guy at the register didn't get mad or object. Staff was friendly enough. Not a regular stop for us but if we really needed to find something, we'd consider returning. read more

I came into this store before adopting a new pet. The store didn't have the pet food I knew the foster was using and I wasn't sure that the carrier would be the right size I was adopting. The cashier told me that I could bring the carrier back without problems and repeatedly suggested that I buy a different kind of puppy food. He even told me that I could return the puppy food even if I opened it. A week later, I went to return both items, unopened, and brand new. Contrary to the cashier's representation, they refused to allow me to return either one. The different cashier said that they never return any item. When I told him that the other person upsold me on the promise that I could return the items he told me that it was my fault for not asking whether that meant that I could return the items for money as opposed to exchange. He claimed that his cash register didn't even process returns. This experience was far beneath my expectations I'm terms of honest business dealings and customer treatment. read more

After telling an employee about it, I was told that they were shipping the turtle back to the warehouse in the next week. I had forgotten (hangs my head in shame) to pack my fur child's booties when we traveled up to NYC from Philadelphia. Needless to say, his paws were filthy after we would come back to the hotel from our walks. Luckily this place was a few blocks away, so we made our trek through the neighborhood and entered into the little shop that sold (what seemed like) everything for pets from floor to ceiling. The two guys working were incredibly nice and their customer service was excellent. They greeted us, asked us if they could help us with anything, and took us to what we needed. This kind of service is excellent for anyone who is time conscious! They were incredibly friendly to my fur child and gave him a couple of treats while we shopped. Forget PetSmart and PetCo. I was searching ALL over the city for a particular grain free kitten feed, Felidae for Cat & Kitten grain-free.. and just when I was about to give up the sales clerk at Spoiled Brats, over the phone, said he'd be happy to order it in for tomorrow. I stopped in while just walking by en route to another appointment,. I'm in Hell's Kitchen all the time and had never seen this store before. Four stars for the excellent selection and friendly staff, minus two stars for the horrendous overpricing. Old Mother Hubbard Bitz treats, a staple item in my house, cost $4.09 at Happy Paws on Lafayette and Houston. Here they cost $6.99, and I can guarantee the rent in SoHo trumps the rent in Hell's Kitchen. It's good it's here if you're in a jam or live next door, I guess. The cat in the window seemed to be very cool and friendly. If I am in the neighborhood and need something urgently, which I did when I stopped in (a leash that has a rubber reinforced handle we like to use), I would come here, but I wouldn't shop here regularly when Beasty Feast, Furry Paws and other small NYC chains deliver and have better prices. read more

This is an awesome pet store in the Hells Kitchen area. The spacious space is full of variety of things for my cats. I visited here for the first timec, when one of my cats lost appetite for 2 days suddenly and I was really worried about her. The store clerk here was very knowledgeable about the matter and very helpful. I guess this is something they are asked all the time. But it is still a serious matter for any day loving people. This store, as mentioned in other review is super tiny. However, it's stocked to the rafters with great pet food, treats, grooming aids and so much more. They even have a cat rescue in the back. The salespeople are friendly and very helpful. I bought a hard to find grooming tool for my dog for only $10 and a wonderful chewy for $2.79. This is actually for the branch up in Washington Heights, at 181st and Bennett. This area has desperately needed a good pet store, so their arrival was a welcome relief. They're very polite and helpful, and have a good selection of food, toys, supplies, etc. for cats and dogs. Prices are pretty good, they'll special-order, and they offer classes as well. Plus they offer free delivery, and the nice young Israeli guy(s) will cheerfully carry up 2 20 bags of Feline Pine without even staying for a tip. If you're in the Heights, check them out. read more

I haven't even been to this store, but wouldn't go after speaking to the rude clerk on the phone. My cats are pescatarian, and I was looking for a vegetarian dry food. When I asked if they carried any, the clerk responded that such a thing doesn't exist. (Totally false, as my cats usually eat Evolution Vegan food, but I have to order it from the Midwest and I need food now.) When I told him that wasn't true, he started railing on me for having my cats be [mostly] vegetarian. I have extensively studied the matter, and my cats' health has improved dramatically after becoming vegetarian (I was scared to death after having my boy hospitalized from eating contaminated Nutro last year). It's one thing to not know pet food options, but I don't need some clerk bashing me seeing as my cats, my vet and I am happy with a vegetarian diet. read more

This the closest and best stocked pet supply store near my work. I usually do ALL of my pet shopping online but stopped in her to see what they had to offer. A lot, it seems. I purchased a winter jacket for my Parsons Russell in a size Large, the gentleman who was work (who has been working all the subsequent times as well) said to come back if it didn't fit and he'd exchange it. Of course it was a size too big and I couldn't find the receipt. I was expecting a big fight when I came back receptless but instead the gentleman found me a Medium and swapped it with me no fuss no muss. Every time I've come in they have had what I needed and they stock Buddy Biscuits which are my dog's favorite! I recommend this shop for locals and workers in the neighborhood.
