This place is a GEM. I came across it on a walk and the owner of the shop was ridiculously sweet. Even though the store was closing, she welcomed me in with a big smile and immediately made me feel warm and welcomed and told me that she'd be closing the doors but I could shop and stay as long as I'd like. They have so many cute toys, leashes, collars and treats for the pups. The owner told me they make a lot of their own products as well. Cannot recommend this place enough, if you need something for your fur baby you've definitely got to check them out! read more

I was on the hunt for birthday biscuits for my pup who's turning 1 tomorrow and luckily found this shop (otherwise would've had to trek all the way to Queens). I'm so glad I found this shop because they had so many options to choose from. I picked the 'happy birthday' biscuit along with a mini cupcake and a birthday cake stuffed toy. Susan was so helpful and patient while I was choosing which biscuit I wanted and browsing the store. There's so many goodies and was hard for me to leave cause I wanted to get everything for my pup. There is a $10 credit card minimum. This will probably be my go to shop for birthday biscuits moving forward! read more

I was searching for a pet store that carried gourmet treats I could giveaway a an upcoming event. I gave Zoomies a call and Susan was extremely helpful. Susan was very thoughtful on the phone and was able to help me get 25 treat bags together. We chatted about treat selection and pricing, and everything was really reasonably priced. Within a matter of hours, I had 25 treat bags put together with a lot of care messengered to my event. I love Zoomies! Not only because it's a super cute store and it feels like Disneyland for pets but also because Susan is wonderful! She is very kind, patient, friendly and makes the entire experience extremely pleasant. She takes the time to show you what she has, she is not pushy and she cares about her clients. She's got great taste and helps you find the perfect thing! She knows all the items she has in the store, she is knowledgeable and knows exactly which toy or gift to recommend based on the breed and size of your pet. She's got the most unique dog toys. My dogs Oliver and Maple usually destroy their toys within 30 minutes but not the ones from Zoomies. They're always made well, and stand up to chewing and biting. Susan's also got an amazing collection of pet accessories like leashes, collars, harnesses, dog bag containers, all high quality and cool colors. She also offers amazing dog winter coats. I bought Oliver his winter coat 5 years ago and it still looks brand new, and is very warm and waterproof, perfect for New York's cold winters. I wash it often and air dry it and it's still in perfect shape. I always bring my friends visiting from Europe and they all love Susan and her store! I was in the area and waiting for some friends, so we could eat a few doors down. Stumbled upon this store and wanted to check it out. The owner was friendly. Of course all business owners want their products to sell, but she was not pushy which I appreciated. I did feel that I was being recommended certain items that maybe weren't the best.... She helps a white guy for 40 min and focuses completely on him for curbside pickup. Then, when it's our turn she gives us a coat and tells us to move to the side while she helps another non Asian person. Like ummmm you totally spent 40 minutes helping out the white guy in front of us and you can't help us for 5 min???? Instead you help out the person behind us while you shove us to the side. I wish i could give this store a better rating. The products offered are so cute (at least from what I've seen from the door) and the treats are high quality. I understand caution surrounding COVID, however figuring out a way to still remain safe but allow for buyers to enter the store needs to happen in order for this place to thrive and survive. The products in the store aren't necessarily cheap, and not allowing customers to browse independently is awkward. It's uncomfortable to turn down products to the owners face for one reason or another. I think there are a lot of similar establishments nearby that offer similar things but do allow for in person browsing so unless it's something unique or dire, I tend to stray elsewhere. read more

Doing curbside service only which is a bummer because I like to be able to browse. I was directed to the website after I arrived and was waiting because the person ahead of me was already being helped. There were pages and pages of toys that I clicked through a little bit on my phone. It's hard to judge things online which is why I had showed up to the physical store. The woman asked me if I was visiting NYC. I said no. Asked me what I got from Dog and Co. I said some warm clothes. She said ok I was just wondering because that's what we (Zoomies) are known for (??). I asked for small plush dog toys for an 8lb dog with some missing teeth and she kept asking me to specify what theme I wanted because they have so many small plush dog toys. They had 3 that were appropriate for his size. The other small plush toys were for cats with catnip in them. She patiently showed me some blankets that I pointed out and I got one that was cooling in addition to the 3 small plush dog toys they had. She asked me how I found them and answered her own question by saying "Google, obviously". Whatever that means. I get the feeling that for better or worse I was being profiled as being "not from here" or othered. I think if I wasn't both white and American born I might take some offense to that. Anyway. She asked me if I wanted any treats, I said no thanks. And then without asking if I wanted to be put in the system said she was going to do it and asked me for my information for when I call in the future to ask what's new in the store? I said No I am ok, and if I need anything I will just stop by in person. Maybe this is your ideal shopping experience. It isn't how I like to shop personally. read more

Walked by and saw something while I was looking through the window that I wanted to purchase and as I was peeking around the windows the rude saleswoman/owner practically barked at me that the woman that was in the doorway was making purchases and that I had to wait. I wish I could love this store, but I've been a handful of times, and, every time, within stepping a foot either near the curbside or inside, the owner has been so unwelcoming. I walked in with my baby's stroller, and she ran over to tell me not to go through the store b/c there's not enough space for the stroller. Wooftown doesn't have a lot of space either, and they always welcome my dog and family. Even though Wooftown is slightly further away, they'll have my business b/c they're so nice and have a great selection of food, treats, etc. read more

Here's the thing about most pet stores - they usually carry 90% of the same stuff and the things that can make one store stand out over the others are the customer service and the overall feel of the store. Zoomies gets bonus points for both - the owner was really nice and not pushy at all plus it's always great to see a shop dog hanging out (even if she did bark at me!) I was looking for a New York themed toy for my friend's dog and Zoomies delivered a Yellow Cab squeaky plush toy, which I can say with certainty Janey loves. I was in this store today with my friend who highly recommended we go in for our pups. Together we have 4 dogs so we were super excited. Simply put, the female owner with short dark hair was rude and unwelcoming. My friend was looking at a toy designed to be pulled in a tug of war by dogs. It was an Eiffel Tower toy to be exact. My friend pulled the toy designed for the exact dog behavior, to see how it worked, and the owner appeared immediately next to us (she was by the checkout when we entered) and in a rude and condescending tone said 'said, don't pull that toy. I saw you pull it hard'. We were completely taken aback. My friend replied and said 'well , if damage this I would pay for it, but isn't this designed to do this exact things and play tug with dogs'? She stated the same thing again. We continued through the store quickly as I needed a few items before I left town. Her behavior couldn't be more bothered to have us in there. If you want a store with an approach of 'customer service' that's annoyed, combative and seemingly angry you're shopping, enjoy. Otherwise, there are so many other better options. read more

Cute boutique with lots of quality products! I needed to purchase some cute clothes and delicious munchies for my four-legged cuties. I decided to check out Zoomies after browsing through their website. Their shop is quite impressive, with a good variety (but overpriced) of cold-weather clothes (fleece jackets, raincoats, etc.) and harnesses/leashes/collars, etc. The staff was helpful and courteous, although of course, I know my pets more than they do, so making a decision on sizes was all up to me. They have a 10-day exchange policy, in case the clothes don't fit your friend well. I ended up purchasing three goodie bags of treats and two harnesses. Although I'll be ordering harnesses and clothes online from now on, my cuties seem to enjoy their treats very much, so I'm happy with that. read more

Mostly for the great free treats hehe, the owner Angelique is always a blast and her dog Chou Chou is always friendly and helpful. The other owner Susan is a bit type A and starts getting frazzled if my dogs sniff something and knocks a toy over, sigh. We look forward to the days Angelique is working! This is a "pet boutique" in every sense of the word; it's a cute, fun store, but one that makes me a little nervous. (The prices!) It's definitely a place to shop for that special treat or toy, but it's not my "go to" pet-supply store. (By contrast, I will lug things from Beasty Feast across town.) I notice there are larger-size clothes for dogs, which is very important; little dogs are fun to dress, and there are always plenty of little-dog clothes, but it's very difficult to find a jacket for your Golden Retriever. It's all about spoiling and pampering your furry companion, and the extremely friendly and helpful staff are more than happy to help you do so. The place definitely caters more to dogs than to cats - which makes sense, as I guess there is not a big market for aborable designer clothing among cat owners. However, they do have a good selection of unique kitty toys (a mini-stuffed platypus? OMGsocute!) and great looking, house-designed collars. It's a nice break from the same three brands of cat stuff that you see at most pet stores. Awful customer service. Very overpriced. Bought a dog tag, pewter that got destroyed by normal use in a few months. Owner claimed 'it never happened before' (which means it has) and refused to attempt any contact with manufacturer. She inferred it was that my dog was at fault and a rogue chewer. Even if it was true, that is the worst approach from a customer standpoint. Plus, when I looked online, it was offered several different places for more than $10 less! Including the shipping! They have everything from fresh-baked dog treats to beautifully-made sweaters to high-end shampoos and leashes. And I bought all of it. The women who own the store are very sweet, too (as is their dog!) Can't wait for my little shitzu to get through his treats so I can go back. Updated review: Okay, I did it -- I bought not-so-cheap leash and collar for my doggie, Miya, who's not even in NYC yet! I figured I should get her new accessories for the big day when she treks here all the way from San Francisco. Zoomies has a great selection of fantastic looking goods, and the owners are really cool and friendly (the owner was nice enough to be patient with me as I took 30 minutes to ambivalently decide on which set of collar/leash I was going to get). Plus she gave me a personal reference for a dog groomer she uses in the neighborhood! I will probably be visiting Zoomies more regularly than I'd originally thought ;) ---------- Definitely not a one-stop for your pet's needs, but the place you'll go when you feel like picking up something "special" for the dog :) They carry a nice line of doggie accessories -- collars, leashes, etc. -- that are incredibly marked up. Recently, my BFF out in California became a new mommy to a cute little puppy so I went over to Zoomies to find my new little "niece" something fun and unique to New York. Zoomies is a cute pet boutique with a variety of pet accessories - winter clothes, covers, toys, gourmet snacks, pet cleaners, beds, etc. I found the perfect gift - a toy ball with the words "I love NY" and a snack pack of the gourmet treats (flavors ranged from peanut butter, chicken with cheese, bacon, etc.). The prices were pretty decent. $16 for my gift. The doggy clothes ranged from $28 -$50. The snacks were about $12 per pound. Love this place! read more

I 100% recommend the products sold by Zoomies. I first came here almost two years ago the week before I was to pick up my puppy from the breeder. One of the store owners, Susan, helped me with selecting a harness and leash that would be durable enough for a puppy who probably would chew everything. She also gave me advice on how to help with my puppy's teething. I noticed Chou Chou, their yorkshire terrier, milling around the store and complimented on how beautiful her coat was. She told me about the homemade food from Whiskers Holistic which since then, I have totally become a believer in what you feed your dog can definitely reflect in their appearance. I have friends who also own dogs and frequently hear how their dogs destroy their leashes. The harness/leash set I got from Zoomies lasted for a whole year through all the chewing with barely any damage. The only reason I came here again a year later was because my puppy is no longer 2lbs and is a 6lb handsome boy so a size upgrade was necessary. I bought a bigger harness with matching leash, purple and silver because my dog can totally pull it off. I feel assured about my dog's safety when I am walking with him that the leash is secure. Yes, you can get cheaper leashes at Petco but quality about certain items can show and the higher price is necessary. The boutique is beautiful, spacious and the store owners are not pushy at all. One of the best pet boutiques filled with; toys, treats, raincoats, clothing, parkas, leashes, harnesses, airline approved travel bags, & zoomies own adorable blankets, beds & lot's of other great finds. The owner is french so she has impeccable taste so her shop is wonderful! My teacup poodle has the most adorable HOT PINK raincoat trimmed in green and she also has a Red parka with black fur lining trimmed in patent leather~ both are just adorable. It beats the $5 Magnolia cupcake, $50 Jersey Shore DVD box set, ensuing $100 gym membership, and ultimate $2000 credit card bill for the tropical vacation to show how well you recovered from the cupcake. Effie and I have always had impeccable experiences at Zoomies. And their selection really transcends, and carries more "essentials" than the dogma of, "Pet Boutique! Maybe I'll go when I want a python-skin Prada dog carrier; till then, to PetCo!" The owner(s) are chill, and have both a pulse on what's good for your pup and a pulse themselves. Aside from dressing better than me, my bulldog's *teething (elk antlers) *training/treats (beef liver crisps) *stomach issues (recommendation to check out Whiskers for their unsurpassed dietary expertise) Have made really nice, dramatic strides. Prices are pretty reasonable, too. The quality is high, and the usefulness and utility of what you get is so good; that in my experience I get better bang for the buck than so much of the waste I've accrued at more typical n mundane stores. read more

Zoomies is a true gem. In a world filled with the mega commercial Pet Central type stores, the boutique pet shops with actual useful not completely superfluous items is hard to find. Zoomies doesn't have everything we need, but they have a solid (and healthy!) selection of homemade treats, organic greenies, awesome shampoo, solid selection of leashes and collars, and unique bowls & beds. It is my go-to place for pet gifts and for treats for my dog, Elle.
