I went to their original location when it was in the Turnstyle market for Charlie's Backyard harness. It was the only place I could find that sold them at a brick and mortar in NY. I measured my dogs and got the L and XL, but when I got back, the L fits but it was a bit loose and XL didn't fit neither my dogs at all, so never got the chance to exchange it. The L was problematic because my dog has gotten out of it very easily when chaos ensues and the quality of this harness isn't sturdy. I love the style of it and it's softness, but it doesn't last at all. The stitching came out very quickly. I have ordered other adjustable step in harnesses, but unfortunately the buckles slips and doesn't keep the same sizing. Decided to go back and get another L to replace the L at home and M for the smaller dog. Checked out and tried it on the dogs, both sizes didn't fit, couldn't even close it at all. I mentioned it to them via text and they said nothing has changed and it is because your dog sizes has changed. If that was true, then I would need to replace all their winter coats, other clothing, and their other harnesses. They still fit in every single thing the same and measures the same. They also mentioned this product does stretch after awhile, but meanwhile they never mentioned this from the get when I got it previously, but now since there is a sizing issue, they are more forthcoming to sizing issues with this company. A went back to do the return, but A is a no hassle and no patience person, and basically went in there and didn't even mention anything to them, but just returned it and was offered a store credit. Because they didn't even have any XL in stock, so what a waste of trip to go there. I texted them and their reply is the person who made the return noted that the "store credit was fine as you're frequent customers and would be back to shop with us again." Let's see, I call b.s. and this shop is going to completely LIE to my face? One, A doesn't speak like that and two, I do all the doggy shopping and 3, A knows damn well that I am not a frequent shopper there. I am only there for the Charlie's Backyard harness, though lack of quality, unfortunately, it's the only one that can fit my dogs. If the M and L doesn't fit anymore because they both were ridiculously small, such a major difference, I highly doubt the XL would fit either of them. What am I going to do with a store credit? Also, how long is this store going to last when they have major competition between ecomm and other brick and mortar stores that offers better deals and pricing? Not to mention 100x better customer service and easy returns? I don't like the fact this person texting me back is going to make up stories now. It's like seriously, if I was a frequent shopper here, I wouldn't have went to Turnstyle looking for this place, since I never even knew it moved. Even Yelp still has the word Turnstyle and the map is pinned at Columbus Circle. Definitely needs work on better customer service! Don't even frequent this hood anymore, so for me to use the store credit, I would have to go out of my way just to come here. Not very convenient or easy at all. read more

Our dog Gerbert grabbed a squeak taco, ran to the dog bed at the store, chewed it, and had the best afternoon. This place makes the dogs feel right at home, thanks to its warm owner whose own dog sits right at the register and is the store manager. The shop is flanked with gorgeous sweaters and sale items, and the one downside is that I can't spend $64 on a sweater. We got the taco, made burritos for dinner, and the whole fam had a very Mexican night. 5 stars!!!! read more

The only reason I gave them 1 star is because the Yelp website wanted me to choose at least 1 star. I feel that they are worth 0 zero stars. I ordered a size M dog collar. I received a size S. My invoice and online order even backs up that I size M. I emailed the return department on the first day I received my order with no response. A week later I called, sent a text and another email. Two weeks later I did the same and a month later tried to contact them again. I have not gotten any response. I originally would have been happy to make an exchange for the correct size, but at this point I just want my money back. I am afraid I am stuck with a collar I have no use for. There is a little bit of everything: toys, treats, beds, clothing, and bedding + Courteous staff. I was struggling to get the right size for my dog. The staff was very helpful in finding the right one for me. + Responsive returns. Unfortunately I got the wrong size for my pup and had return it when I got back to CA. I stumbled upon this cute little shop after bopping around Columbus Circle after a doctors appointment a few days ago. I have two rescue chihuahua mixes at home and I've purchased hundreds of dollars worth of carriers/slings/bags to carry them in when I travel. All of them hurt my back and are uncomfortable to wear on one shoulder because both dogs equate to ~ 17lbs. I would identify Dog&Co as similar to Love Thy Beast (which I have a bag from) because it's the same high quality boutique offering unusual items but at a lower price point. Bought a backpack from them the same day I walked in and couldn't be happier. The sales associate was so sweet and let me use the owner's chihuahua to put in the backpack for size reference. The backpack was $98 plus tax and I couldn't be happier. It's much easier on my back and I wouldn't have been able to purchase it on the spot if it wasn't for the sweet female employee. She kept suggesting other options to me, helping me adjust the bag, etc all without any sales pressure at all! read more

The Deets: I first encountered Dog & Co about a year and half ago when going to their "brick and mortar" shop in the Turnstyle underground market (shops along a subway tunnel area under 8th Ave between 57th and 58th Streets near the Columbus Circle station). In the shop were many dog related items...accessories, toys, clothes, tags, leads/leashes, treats, bowls, bags/carriers, and other related items. These wares were of premium quality and unique instead of the ordinary. Many were of a premium price but worth it. Little Frenchie pup Emma got her first stylish bandana here at that time, and she loved her fashion accessory! Now during the time of COVID-19, I went to their online presence at shopdogandco.com since their shop is not open. The website had many things for Emma for her now second birthday. They even had gift bundles available with more than one item together that can be purchased for events like birthdays. I found the bundle perfect for Emma, including a soft plush "birthday cake" toy that can split apart into "pieces of cake" that squeak and crinkle as well as a special bandana with a Happy Birthday design on it. This is the place for special items for your furry BFFs. Fang was in NYC this past weekend and he needed a coat. I found a sweet reversible light blue dark blue puffer. He is always a stunner, but the coat on he is beyond his adorable self!!! Now we are in Napa and the coat is keeping my sweetie snuggley warm. I will add photos to this post and soon. Decided to get back on Yelp and write reviews for my favorite small businesses to support them through COVID. Dog & Co is an obvious first choice. The store is obviously cute, well stocked, organized, and maintained. The staff is hard-working, friendly, and knowledgeable. One lady in particular who I suspect is the owner has always been able to patiently answer every single question about any product that I have without being at all pushy. The store also has a lenient return and exchange policy in case things don't fit. This store is the reason many people visit Turnstyle outside their commute. What's also amazing is that during COVID they continue to source new products and move inventories with great promotions to make sure customers still have a wide variety of options to choose from. A few of my favorite things they carry are: Dusen Dusen alpaca sweaters; Bocce's Bakery treats; Charlie's Backyard coats; and Found My Animal leashes. Now they carry products from Wild One too which is a great new company that I would try out. I have not bought anything from Dog & Co's in-house line but will do so to support them. This store keeps my dog warm through every winter and fed throughout the year. I cannot thank them enough. read more

I love this place. First of all it's a really great place for your dog to make friends and socialize. One less star because the fluffy beds are super over priced ($120). Love their selection of items and have bought everything from paw pomade, shoes, boots, sweaters and toys for all 3 of my dogs here. So I've spent a pretty penny here because this place is not cheap. I love the items and so do my dogs. That is not the issue here and is the reason this isn't a 1 Star review. However, I am NEVER greeted when I come in- yet when other customers arrive right after me they are greeted, shown around, and made recommendations. I wonder if it has to do with how I'm dressed or that quite frankly I'm not white. Very annoyed about this as I thought it was that they were busy but somehow they're able to drop what they're doing when they think they see someone who will make a bigger sale. As a discerning purveyor for dog products from far and wide, this is really one of the best pet stores. It is small, tiny in fact, but the per capita quality is off the charts. Consider it a well curated gallery. Every product passes muster as of high quality, functional, or cute. Take leashes or bags for instance - you might get 10 times more variety in pet smart, but there are 10 times more great options here. Super friendly and helpful. Gave me some space to breathe and browse and not pushy which is great. I asked about returns because I wasn't 100% sure if the Puppia puffer coat she pulled out for me would be the right size (from last season, they have limited supply at the moment which makes sense). Not such great service. When I was last there they have me a measuring tape to measure my dogs for coat fitting. When I was there today, the head lady would barely help me and chose to help two sets of customers that came in after me. I was ready to buy 3 coats, but they really didn't k ow the sizing well for a brand that they carry. Luckily the wag wear site has the sizing and I was able to order online from manufacturer. My niece discovered this store and gifted me a small collar for my new puppy. As the pup grew I needed larger collar. I went there and found a small room full with wonderful things for my pup. In the photo, Oliver is wearing a bear like sweater (which got him a lot of compliments) and the new Italian leather leash (very posh). I got all sorts of goodies and was very happy with the girls tending the store as well. Then, I ordered a fun tag for my pup and wanted it ingraved. The tag manufacturer mail me the tag but the USPS messed it up and the package got stuck ...somewhere! Tiffany (from the store) immediately contacted the manufacturer and a new tag was sent. And...I never received it. Maybe the USPS is crazy busy these days. Anyway, Tiffany graciously refunded me the price. I am sad about the tag but I am happy with the service of the DOG&CO. California online shopper here, I really want to say how impressed I am with their customer service! I made a purchase around late July, for two items. Quickly (and I mean probably within the next 12 hours) I was contacted by Leah, a customer service representative, to tell me that one of the items I ordered was out of stock. She offered to send the in stock item to me but wanted to see what I preferred. Having two fur babies, I wanted to be fair so I asked her to hold my item until the second one came in. But the attention to detail in asking what I preferred was great (this would have been shipped through any other site without asking)! Growing up my parents were very fair when purchasing toys, either we all got something or no one did. This principal is something I still apply today to my fur babies. Well, my order took longer than expected but Leah kept me up to date every week! It was great to know my order was not forgotten, as I feared it might be. Beware: you will spend all of your money when you walk in here. It's amazing what they have. I came specifically to buy a wildebeest harness I knew they had, but I left having bought some fancy hip collar, leash & traveling bag and blanket. They gave me treat samples that my dog (who doesn't love treats) is obsessed with. Super friendly, and they didn't get mad at me when my dog peed on their beautiful wooden displays. Cannot recommend enough, this store has a vastly different assortment than any other pet store in NY (at least that I've found yet). I went here looking to try a K9 Air backpack. Tiffany was so patient with me for the hour I was in the store. She showed me how to use the bag and snap some pics so I could see how it looked from various angles. In the hour I was there, there were peaks of customers coming in and I thought she did a great job handling the store as groups of people came in. Only one knockoff option and then the Buster Acticity Mat. Bought the activity mat for $80-90 but partner does not like it. Completely unopened and unused but store won't accept return. Even more frustrating is that website offers returns within 14 days. However, in-store purchases differ, with only store credit. Differing policy not explicitly called out ahead of time. Went to the store on a Saturday. Tried to get in and the door was shut on us because of store capacity and we were not addressed. Understandable. Then they took their 30min break as was notified on the sign before we got to go in. Came back half an hour later to see that they were closed and that there was a hand written note advising they would return in an additional 30min. This store is amazing! They have the absolute best of everything for your dog, plus things you did not even know you wanted. All of the leashes, harnesses, clothes, beds, food, games, etc...are beautifully and thoughtfully made. Also, they do not mark up the the items like some other luxury dog stores. The prices were great, the merchandise is perfect, and the management could not be kinder or more welcoming. My friend and brought our puppies yesterday and we had so much fun that our puppies did not want to leave. I was hesitant about shopping inside the subway, but I forgot where I was the entire time I was there. If I could give zero stars I would. I have to agree with the other negative reviews here when it comes to the customer service. My mother ordered a gift with ample time before Christmas, did not receive any communication from the company until Dec 29th (saying the product had shipped) - Well after the recipient left town, forcing my mom to do extra work and spend extra shipping for the delivery. When we inquired about this, I requested to speak on the phone, and was brushed off with TEXT MESSAGES coming at 30 minute intervals, offering a refund of the $6 shipping (which DOES NOT cover the additional shipping cost) and eluding my questions about and additional credit to allow for that. And then leaving the conversation altogether and never replying...As mentioned above, there are PLENTY of other dog shops. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I just have to say how stoked I am to find this little gem. I got an adorable ombre rope leash from them that I'm completely obsessed with and a new collar for my dog a few weeks ago. I loved the vision and quality of the products they carry, so when it was time to get a spring raincoat for my dog, I emailed the store to make sure they had my desired color and size. They promptly responded that they were waiting on a shipment and would let me know when they arrived. They did, but then, when there was a mix up in the shipment order, they went out of their way to immediately contact the vendor to see if they could get my color/size ASAP. When it turned out to be backordered, I was given a special link for a different color with free shipping, a nice discount and an apology for the mix up. A++++ for customer service. Yesterday I bought a rain coat for my dog here and a sweater. The woman at desk said, "I will email you receipt and if it doesn't fit, you can return it." When I got home, it didn't fit and had a bad smell. Today I returned to store to be told by same clerk that it can only be returned for store credit she then tried to shift her poor communication to "her and her coworker". She debated me on the smell, my understanding of how it WAS communicated to me. There are many other dog clothing stores in Manhattan (or online) and when you debate your customers, you will lose your customer - all for $57 and poor customer service. read more

This is my go-to spot for my 12 yr old yorkie, Blu. Everyone is always so friendly and the clothing, blankets, leashes, etc. are quality products with gorgeous designs for all seasons.
