Great little pet store where the staff is very friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile. My dog has a sensitive stomach and needs a particular brand of dog food which they only had 1 bag left. The employee was nice enough to put it aside for me to pick up after work. Highly recommend them! :) read more

The best pet shop in town! They carry top quality products for all kinds of dietary needs for both cats and dogs. As a cat owner I 100% prefer to shop here over any big brand name store. read more

1/4/2015 The best! Always a smile, always friendly and courteous, always knowledgeable and concerned about meeting one's needs. I know that when I go to them, I will always get the help and answers I need. They are really neighborhood 'friends', way more than ' a business'. A pleasure to know and 'work' with them. read more

Calling All Pets - After destroying all wrapping paper in the bag! "Where's more?" - Pet Stores Near Me - New York, New York

This is your neighborhood pet supply store. They carry the high end dog food such as Orijens (I buy Orijens at this store locally). They are knowledgeable and helpful. They are lovely and support local pet activities and businesses. Recently, they sponsored the Howlloween event in Carl Shulz Park (NYC!). They also provided the Best Costume Prize at the Halloween party I organized at our vet's office. read more

I bought some dog food and other doggie supplies here on a few occaisions when I lived on 75th Street. A nice neighborhood place and it had what I needed. They, too, gave my puggy treats whenever we visited the store. Nice guys! read more

I buy my dogs' food here because the prices are actually cheaper than Petco and the people are extremely courteous and friendly. They always offer my dog some treats when he's with me, and they offer a program where the 10th bag of food you buy is free. read more

I lived one block away from Calling All Pets for a year, and on each visit the staff was courteous and helpful, and I never really gave them the reason to go beyond the call of duty. Since most of the time I was going to get cheap doggy poo bags, this is to be understood. Sadly, as I was preparing to leave the Upper East Side is when I found out how awesome they really are. One of my dogs was stressed by the move, and to show her stress, started peeing in the apartment... constantly. While I hated to put her in a crate, I thought perhaps that would give her a place to be comfortable, and secure. I gave Calling All Pets a phone call to inquire about a small crate, and the lady went to check their stock. When she came back, she explained they didn't have a crate for my pug, but would gladly loan me one until I found one to buy, or didn't need it. No charge, no deposit, nothing. They just wanted to help me out! When I picked up the crate, I explained what was happening, and the staff immediately recognized the issue (stress) and started offering suggestions. They even helped me pick out a new doggy bed, and found one that was inexpensive and machine washable. I can only hope that I find a place this awesome in Chelsea, and that this review will help others find Calling All Pets. You won't be disappointed. read more

The two ladies in this store are 'too busy' to price the dog food cans so if I want to decide between several brands I have to ask them how much each is and they have to look it up in the computer. (Or I can bring the cans up to the register for purchase and get sticker shock.) I asked if this practice was because the holiday season 'is upon us' or if they never stamp prices on the product (my first time here) and they said the above. If a business owner doesn't have time to run the business with a nod to customer service than I don't have any business returning ... and I mentioned this when I bought the cans I did buy. read more

A nice store and very helpful people. Prices are lower than Petco on food so why buy from a chain store? They have a very good variety of natural foods too... probably a bigger selection then Petco. I feed my dogs Orijen and Natural Balance Duck. They have both. I have now changed Cheppie and Pitzie's food to Acana which is made by Champion foods (the makers of Orijen). Acana has less protein so it's easier for them to digest. It's rated a 5 star dog food by foodadvisors.com which is a great site to get reviews of the food that you are giving to your dogs. I give them Ranchlands which happens to be around $75 plus tax for 29.7lbs bag. Cheppie and Pitzie love it. read more

This store is owner operated and the most caring employees are all long time residents of NY @ Calling All Pets! Whether it's getting your regular or special food delivered for your dog or cat or going in and asking questions about treats and toys, you won't find a more caring bunch of folks anywhere in New York!!! read more

Small, but not lacking in items for both cats and dogs. They have kitty litter, specialty treats, bowls, carriers, etc. They may not have everything you're looking for on hand, but they're definitely worth the visit. read more

the best place to get dog food ever!I I've been a loyal customer for a year now, and I must say every time I have a problem coming to pick up my prescription dog food, or an address delivery change, they are so understanding and very helpful. I call at least 10 times to change my mind about something, and they never get upset or frustrated. They have the best employees and are always sweet to my poodle when I get the chance to bring him in. They are very passionate about their jobs and know exactly what they are talking about. The trip I take from the Bronx is totally worth it. If the store and the location ever changed, I'd take the trip anywhere they relocated. Best little gem in New York for any pet lover! read more

Adorable little shop! Great customer service and location for those that live far east! Ask about their frequent buyer card.

My cat got pretty sick all of a sudden after the manufacturer of his dry food changed the formula without clear enough warnings. I popped into Calling All Pets on my way to a nearby class to see if they happened to have a bag of the original formula still in stock. They didn't have it since it was discontinued 3 months ago but the woman I spoke with was so genuinely concerned about my cat that she took me over to the shelf and insisted I take some units of fiber and wet food for my cat to try. That's never happened to me at a big chain store like Petco/PetSmart! There are great people behind this business and that's a good enough reason for me to shop there next time. #shopsmall read more

My wife and I love this place to get our cat food and kitty litter. We go to the location on 76th and are always treated to friendliness, good prices and a little bit of conversation. The women who run the shop and the young man who helps out are kind and helpful. A great neighborhood small business with all the pet products our cranky old man kitties will ever need. read more

Cramped little space with a very sweet staff. Only issue I can see is simply that the space is limited so the amount of product is also limited. Staff is really helpful and great about giving tips on certain dog behaviors as well as little hacks/tips with items around the house to help with eating habits or chewing problems! Im so glad this location is just a few blocks away! read more

We recently brought home our pup. We were a bit clueless about what to buy and went to calling all pets to get supplies. The lady who worked there was so sweet and helpful. She helped us get all out pet supplies. She wasn't trying to make us buy items blindly. She was so honest and helpful. This is going to be my go to pet store. read more

Keep the mom and pop pet stores alive!! Love this place. Friendly staff, awesome food selections that you can't find at places like Petco. And they are great about delivering large orders to your door. My dog freaks out going in here because she knows she's getting treats. read more

I agree that the staff in person is pretty pleasant, however, they have terrible customer service. On more than one occassion, I was told I'd receive a call back, and did not. Recently, I placed an order for food a week in advance and was told a day before the delivery date that they were unable to place the order. No apologies, that's just the way they operate was the response I got when I questioned why I wasn't notified earlier. You can bet I will NOT be bringing this store anymore business. read more

This is the best pet store on the Upper East Side! Their selection of cat food and toys kept my cats healthy and playful well into their senior years. My dog has LOVED this store since she was a puppy and no walk is complete without a stop to say hello to all her friends there (& perhaps enjoy a treat or two). The prices are VERY good and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable - a real treasure in the neighborhood. read more

I love this store and shop here every weekend for pet supplies. As an owner of a dog and also cats, I find everything i need despite the small size of the space. I like the fact that this store is a locally owned small business and the owner is often present when I am shopping. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer free delivery in the area and the delivery crew is always professional. I find a natural canned cat food here that I cannot find in the larger box stores. My dog loves this store and tries to pull me inside every time we are walking past, partly because the staff will give her treat samples and they are always talking to her and calling her by name. I find the store to be cluttered in an eclectic and pleasant manner. There is a lovely shop cat who lounges on shelves and there is always a lot of interesting products available for both cats and dogs. This is the best store I have found for dog coats and sweaters. Someone is making a lot of these products for the store and the quality is amazing. I also found when comparing prices that the prices are excellent for dog coats and sweaters. There are frequent sales and sale bins in this store. My dog wears a winter coat i acquired here and it is so adorable, people stop me on the street to ask where i got it or make a comment about how cute she is in her coat. She resembles a canine version of Sherlock Holms and it is adorable. I enjoy supporting a small neighborhood business and this store is absolutely a pleasure to visit. I definitely recommend this shop to all my neighbors. read more

I always used to shop at their 76th Street store, which was closer to my apartment, but I love them so much that it's no problem going to the York Avenue location. Very nice people and you can always call them to ask if they have something you need. They'll also take your number and give you a call when the product you've asked for arrives. I've been shopping there for years and will continue to do so. Great customer service and terrific prices. read more

The store is deceptively small-it actually has lots in stock (I'm a cat owner) and the salespeople are personable and very helpful too! Every time I've been there and wasn't completely sure what to get, there was someone to suggest different options. So far so good...I've never been disappointed. I also love it when a salesperson recommends something I didn't know about. At this place, you will not hear "You absolutely must have this product!" People will simply share their opinion based on personal experience and customer feedback. This is how I discovered the best catnip ever! And being greeted with a smile as opposed to being ignored (um, anyone familiar with litter & leashes?) does make a huge difference! Great big thumbs up! read more

I Really want a bunny but I don't know how to get one without going to the pet store. Tell me HOW!!!

This place is by far NOT the closest to my place, yet the only one I go to. The staff is super friendly, they deliver and the delivery guys are always very professional and helpful. They have a large inventory and will even recommend stuff to SAVE you money (yes folks, honest business's still exist). One time they were even out of stock of my normal cat food but mentioned they get some in later and will just deliver it when it comes in. Plus, for you cat lovers they have this adorable cat that hangs out by the register and just loves attention. read more

My Boyfriend is moving tomorrow to a Yorkville location and as a surprise I wanted his Cat's to have all their needs met when they arrived at his new apartment. I called a few big box stores to get a delivery set up but no one carried all the items he used including a hard to find holistic brand of dry food. I then saw all these rave reviews of Calling All Pets and spoke to Jill! She was awesome and filled the entire order on the spot including the hard to find Holistic dry cat food. Delivery is tomorrow but I can tell this is my pet place for life based on the level of service. Jill even suggested a catnip Easter bunny on top of the entire delivery!! LOVE them! read more

I went in here the day I was bringing home my new puppy--I had no supplies and needed it fast. The 2 ladies who run the store were super helpful, taking time to make sure I had everything I needed, and also helped me make good choices so I didn't break the bank. (At one point she suggested I put one of the toys I had picked out back and wait to buy more after seeing what my puppy liked--clearly not trying to rip me off). They delivered everything to my apt within a few hours and just in time for my new puppy to get settled in. I also love the selection of natural/high quality products here. I will definitely be going back! read more

I've just moved in the neighborhood and moving was very stressful for my cat. He was meowing very loud and non-stop. Thank you! I'll be going back to the store for everything my cat needs. read more

This is a GREAT pet store. Recommended to me by a colleague that has been going there for years. I ordered over the phone and tried out some new canned food for my dog. The store delivers and I received the food same day. My dog ended up not liking the new food, and the store came over to do the exchange, picked up the old food and dropped off some new stuff to try. I was really impressed. Since then, I've been into the store, and everyone there is very sweet and attentive. I will keep buying my pet supplies here. read more

They are very helpful! I have visited several pet stores in the UES and this is the only one I have been to and I can say that the people who work there actually own pets and have an interest in your needs. Great place! read more

It is a pleasure to shop in this charming neighborhood pet store. I have a cat and find that Calling All Pets has a nice variety of healthy foods at prices that match or are a little less than big boxes like Petco. My cat can be finnicky about what she likes and the associates are always willing to accept exchanges if my little princess decides she no longer likes a certain flavor. The associates are knowledgeable and friendly. You are always greeted when you walk in (which goes a long way with me) and I think it is cute how they say, "Thanks so much!" when you tell them you don't need a shopping bag for your purcahse. I once saw a little dog walk from the corner of 1st Ave to this store (basically dragging his owner) and stand by the storefront waiting for a treat. Poor doggy, the store was closed. Now that is two paws up for Calling All Pets! read more
