I have been shopping with Pet Town since they opened. Mike, Sam, and now Pauline(!) are so accommodating and kind. They deliver quickly, their prices are very fair, and if they don't carry something, they try to get it for me. Twelve years ago, when my feline was at the end of her days, they even sent their delivery person to different stores to get something she needed if they didn't have it. Who does that?! I try and make an effort to frequent smaller independent shops as much as I possibly can. Let's face it, the big PetSmart on Lexington really doesn't need my business. It is small shops like Pet Town that give a city its character. Pet Town is a great store. They always have whatever I need to pet supplies and because its an independent store, the service is much more attentive that you are going to receive at a large chain like PetSmart. PetSmart has its place ..... but unless you really need something which only they will have, then I really suggest you give a store like Pet Town a chance. It is well worth it. Plus, you get to say hello to the store's house cat who strolls the store as his own! He knows who the true boss is. PetSmart doesn't and can't offer that! read more

I love this place!!! Owners are so kind and really have an amazing variety of brands. You can tell they really care for and love their pets, the store is much more than a few people trying to make a buck on some dog food. This place is small so they can't carry a lot, and it's definitely focused on pet essentials. But, what they do (food, litter, treats) they do SO WELL. Everything from run-of-the-mill to specialized diets and raw food. There's also a good toy selection which seems to rotate pretty frequently which is great for a cat like mine who gets bored super easily. The owners bring in their cat occasionally who is so relaxed and incredibly sweet. Though I do love Chewy, for things I can purchase here, I would support Pet Town over them any day. read more

I've been working with Sam and his partner for many many years the guys that run the store. Although it's not the cheapest place the very competitive and reasonable and always deliver when I'm in a pickle or rust or not home? The guys know me and they drop the phone in front of the door sometimes they even leave a can opener for my cat it's very considerate. One day on a rainy afternoon I could not carry anything and I couldn't get out! My mother was unable to assist that day and they went out of their way To deliver the food to me when the store closed I said I don't care when you come by I just need to feed my little kitty? She would've been fine but they were so kind I remember tipping the guy and he looked at me and I said this is for your troubles! Came for the pet food, but I always hang around a while for Ophelia (their lil' bodega kitty!). The owners are really helpful, and they always have what I need in stock. There's lots of small businesses on the upper east side, and many of them are nice, but Pet Town really is the friendliest in my opinion. read more

They always have our specialty food in and if we want to try something new he will happily order it. This is one small business you will love shopping at, the kitty is sweet too. Like other reviewers, I try to shop locally. This store carries most premium pet food and treats, even brands that are harder to get. Moreover, I always want a size they don't carry, but they'll order it for me promptly. Service and prices are very good. And as another reviewer mentioned, their hours are very convenient. They're open every day (at different times) so shopping on Sunday is perfectly fine. I recommend it strongly. read more

It's around the corner from me so I thought I'd check it out. Its great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have everything you need and its cheaper than Pet Co or Pet Smart (at least my brands are - Wellness & The Worlds Best Cat Litter). About 10 years ago I desperately needed Wellness cat food but couldn't find a store between Queens and Manhattan with the Wellness sign. Also, I didn't want to have to find parking to go to a large store. My friend and I passed Pet Town and saw the Wellness sign! I went in and bought a case. They said they delivered. I said "I bet you don't deliver to where I live." My home was a little off the beaten path of the UES. They responded, "where?" I told them and they said, "no problem. We pass that way on our way home." They've delivered to my home every three months or so ever since and I've never used another store since! Thanks guys!!! read more
