Spitz: vegan doner bowl
Chiemi N.

I've picked up large catering orders from this location many times. The customers I've delivered to always raves about the food. It looks like a cool place and I kept thinking I would like to dine here. I dine with a small group every couple of months or so. I told them when it's my turn, I'm choosing Spitz. The restaurant has a fun and colorful decor. Order at the bar and they bring the food out to your table. It was a really warm day, so we chose to dine inside. They do have a nice outdoor area for when it's not too hot. We sat at a booth with nice padded seats. The menu has something for everyone, with clear labeling. I am vegan, so I appreciated the vegan menu section. My friend is vegetarian, and the two other friends are omnivores. I ordered the vegan doner bowl. It comes with fries, falafel, hummus and other Mediterranean items. It was good, but the next time I order it, I will sub rice for the fries. Service was awesome. My iced tea was refilled several times. There's a newly opened Spitz near my house and my sister and I are already planning to go!

I've had this place saved for a while on a TikTok I seen. It is just as good as everybody raves. From the portions to the quality of the food it was all spectacular. Every ingredient tasted fresh. I had a bowl and my husband had a gyro. We also ordered their famous street fries and those did not disappoint. The price for everything we ate felt worth it, which is rare these days. I already want to go back and try more things. The atmosphere of the place is also inviting and comfortable. Many spots to sit inside and outside on their deck. We also had a stroller with us for our 3.5 month old baby and being new parents it's nice when a restaurant can't accommodate spaces for us. The staff were also very kind and offered recommendations with their sauce and food options. Will be coming back for sure!

I went there with couple of my friends on a Sunday lunch, it wasn't busy. There were more people in the outside tables than inside. It looked very spacious, eclectic place with colorful posters. The menu looked good and interesting with many options for - vegans, vegetarians and also non-vegetarians. There is also a bar area, where we have to put our orders in. The water station is right across so its basically a self service station. We tried the vegetarian and vegan Doner Baskets and they were pretty good.

Happy New Year! Stopped in on New Year's day to meet family. I was very surprised with the menu. We ate too much food which is a sign of good food. Everything was cooked perfectly. Seasoned to perfection. The young lady serving us was very cool. The restaurant wasn't crowded, especially after the NYE's parties. She was fresh and prepared for any amount of people. She explained the menu, which had some different than usual items on it than I was used to eating. The fries with gyro meat was one. The was right about them being great. The music, the decorations were all on point. My first time was a good time. I will be back again.

Mediterranean Doner Wrap

I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to check it out and oh my god, it was phenomenal. So many veggie options. We got the mediterainian falafel wrap - it was so flavorful. That said, as basic as it may sound - the fries stole the show for me and I can't stop thinking about them. The staff was all so super inviting and helpful and the space was cute and vibey - perfect place for a little date night. Highly recommend.

I never really eat Mediterranean food in Portland but the food here wasn't bad. Pretty normal price. I got the feta doner wrap and it was okay. I didn't really taste the feta. My partner got the bowl and I wish it had had more rice. The meat portion was decent but overall nothing special. This place could be vibey on a sunny day.

We came - We sat - We Ate!!! We had the fun opportunity to meet up with different family member (while a few were in town) to have an early lunch together. WE had never been here before. Awesome vibe.It was welcoming, casual but a bit quirky, Ok, very Portland. On this day (New Years Day) there seemed to be a lot of Uber or delivery pickups. The menu is a great mix of Mediterranean but with a bit of a fusion mix. I really had fund figuring out what I wanted to eat. A gyro lamb wrap and chicken wings and oh - I guesses we ate our daughter's order of Gyro Lamb fries (oops - did we eat them all!!) The service was attentive. We were one of two groups in the restaurant, all the rest seems to be to go orders. Reasonable price for the quality of the food. While I probably wouldn't drive (again) from the SW side of Portland, I would definitely stop in and grab a bit to eat when I am in the neighborhood and hungry. Thanks for the hospitality, great attofmpshere and good quality food.

Casual spot for some Mediterranean street food & drinks. I usually don't prefer going to chain places but I like their wraps here and the street cart fries, they add some things like banana peppers and feta to give it some extra zest and different flavors u don't find at ur average gyro cart. Plus if you plan on frequenting, make an account/download the app for points for free treats/discounts. Also the daily 4-6 HH is sweet, I showed up at 3:55 but waited 5 min to order cause I saw I could save $10 total on my beer, street cart fries and wings lol. Wings were just meh but everything else is tasty, especially their house green sauce.

Doner Wrap (I forget which one)

Portland does not have a shortage of Mediterranean and wrap type places, but this is another good one. The Doner Wrap hit the spot for me.

I love this place, the food is all so good (especially the pita chips) and it's pretty reasonable. The service was amazing and I love that there's outdoor seating.

It was my first time going there. The waitress helped me with the menu and some of her favorite recommendations. I ordered a bowl with chicken with a side of pita. The bowl was extremely good and the pita and hummus were amazing.

My husband and I weren't in 100% agreement about Spitz. The menu looked great and the people seemed friendly enough. Except it wasn't obvious you had to go order at a counter. They brought us menus and then we sat and sat, waiting for someone to take our order. If they had a sign when you walk in indicating how to order, we totally missed it. Finally we waved at somebody and he said he could take our order. I got the Mediterranean wrap, and my husband the doner bowl. My wrap was too salty and I didn't like the texture of hummus on the wrap either. So I wouldn't get that again. My husband's doner bowl was a little salty too. And the French fries didn't do much it, as his meal also came with fries. He did like his bowl overall, however. The fries were delicious though. Nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

we wanted something fresh & healthy-ish for dinner so we decided to give this place a try. we ordered through Uber Eats & it did not disappoint. the veggies tastes great & the tzatziki sauce was delish! i wish i had more of the sauce honestly haha. i'm not a fan of balsamic so i didn't use that sauce. then the falafel balls were perfect! not dry, had a good crunch & flavor to it.definitely will be ordering from here again & im sure in person too can't comment on the service or ambiance since we ordered thru an app

The standout feature for me was the QR code ordering system: scan, order, and close out your tab whenever you're ready, all from your phone. In a busy restaurant, this feels less like a gimmick and more like a small act of genius. No awkward eye contact trying to flag someone down, no waiting to pay while mentally calculating how close you are to just leaving cash and hoping for the best. That said, if you're not in the mood to embrace your phone as your server, the traditional route is still there. You can walk up to the bar or catch one of the servers floating around. It's a smart setup that solves the "we're busy and maybe a little understaffed" problem without making it your problem. Food-wise, I went with the meatball sub (on special). Handmade pork and beef meatballs, clearly done by someone who knows what they're doing, and the kind of sandwich that requires both commitment and a few extra napkins. No regrets. I paired it with the Breakside Pilsner, which landed comfortably on the higher end of "good"Not life-changing, but absolutely something you'd order again without hesitation, especially if you're settling in for a while. Overall, it's a place that feels like it understands how people actually want to eat and drink right now. Efficient without being cold, flexible without being chaotic, and just cool enough to make you feel like you picked the right spot.

The burgers were massively overpriced for what they were. We sent the first one back for being overcooked and they replaced it with another overcooked, underwhelming burger and nowhere close to worth the price. To make it worse, fries are extra, condiments are extra $$, which feels ridiculous when you are already paying premium prices for a very average burger. Overpriced food and nickel-and-diming for sides. I would not go back.

Bridgetown Beerhouse wasn't empty but it also wasn't overly crowded like some other nearby places at this time of night. They have some outdoor seating along the store and in the converted street parking. Inside has bar seating with multiple taps and some round tops. TVs had the game on (which game? I don't know, I don't do sports. I just know people were watching and cheering). There are multiple fridges well-labeled with types of beer, which is what I went straight to. I took a while debating what I wanted - the bartender greeted me but didn't offer help choosing. That's fine, they were busy enough, but expect to be on your own here.
