    Loving this patio

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed here before. This is such a fun spot to try out some beers from breweries nearish and far that don't really distribute much here. The staff is always friendly and real beer nerds which is fun. Lots of cozy spaces downstairs and upstairs (new as of last week) to hang out solo with a group. It's near lots of stuff to so the perfect place for a before or after meal beverage. Note: The upstairs area has its own bar with a few separate taps and a lot more to-go beer.

I really like the concept of this place with the rotating brewery's for the month. The interior is very cool and the staff is super chill. Nice spot to hang out. You can bring outside food to complement your beer!

Function PDX is cleverly denoted as f(x), which the mathematician in me appreciates. It is an event space, and the pop-up restaurant it was hosting is what brought me here. The space is clean, well laid-out, modern, cozy, and inviting. It is versatile in what it can accommodate with tables that fold up against the wall and out of the way when they're not needed. There is a bar, and lots of shelves for tableware, as well as sufficient room for cooking. Street parking is difficult and crowded, so be sure to plan accordingly. It is recessed from the street further than the other businesses on the street, and signage is very inconspicuous, so it is easy to overlook. I'd recommend giving Function a shot if you need to rent an event space or to attend a hosted event.

Cool concept- they bring in breweries from all over to do a "tap takeover". So a brewery from LA (or wherever)will ship kegs and bottles/cans for a month long takeover. We've gone for Monkish and Drekker. The service is always great, great atmosphere too. They have a new outdoor space that is very nice. The area of Portland they're located in is also fun, with lots of restaurants. Highly recommended.

Genuinely my favorite brewery in Portland (which is really saying something). Beers are spectacular…read moreand the staff is excellent. I love the space as well, though if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation and welcoming pastels this is NOT your spot. I wish we could bring the kids to hang out with us on the patio at least, but Portland permitting is weird AF. Love the merch, love the tap lists, love the events, love the cooler; what more can I say? To top it all off they have El Viejon serving some of the best mexican food anywhere in Portland right in the joint! I've yet to try a single dish that's not delicious and many are absolute favorites. Get a cali burrito and call it a day; you'll be set! Sam et al; you guys are amazing and we really appreciate you! I genuinely only wish I had more time to come spend enjoying Brujos.

Brujos is a hidden gem in NW/slabtown that everyone should try at least once…read more They just completed an interior renovation of the bar, and damn, is it ever a cool design and space. I am a big fan of the indoor/outdoor flow for the space, especially on nice weather afternoons like we have had recently. Outdoor seating is limited, so be prepared to sit inside. Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of bike stands to make this a car-free journey.

The standout feature for me was the QR code ordering system: scan, order, and close out your tab whenever you're ready, all from your phone. In a busy restaurant, this feels less like a gimmick and more like a small act of genius. No awkward eye contact trying to flag someone down, no waiting to pay while mentally calculating how close you are to just leaving cash and hoping for the best. That said, if you're not in the mood to embrace your phone as your server, the traditional route is still there. You can walk up to the bar or catch one of the servers floating around. It's a smart setup that solves the "we're busy and maybe a little understaffed" problem without making it your problem. Food-wise, I went with the meatball sub (on special). Handmade pork and beef meatballs, clearly done by someone who knows what they're doing, and the kind of sandwich that requires both commitment and a few extra napkins. No regrets. I paired it with the Breakside Pilsner, which landed comfortably on the higher end of "good"Not life-changing, but absolutely something you'd order again without hesitation, especially if you're settling in for a while. Overall, it's a place that feels like it understands how people actually want to eat and drink right now. Efficient without being cold, flexible without being chaotic, and just cool enough to make you feel like you picked the right spot.
