    Loving this patio

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed here before. This is such a fun spot to try out some beers from breweries nearish and far that don't really distribute much here. The staff is always friendly and real beer nerds which is fun. Lots of cozy spaces downstairs and upstairs (new as of last week) to hang out solo with a group. It's near lots of stuff to so the perfect place for a before or after meal beverage. Note: The upstairs area has its own bar with a few separate taps and a lot more to-go beer.

I really like the concept of this place with the rotating brewery's for the month. The interior is very cool and the staff is super chill. Nice spot to hang out. You can bring outside food to complement your beer!

Function PDX is cleverly denoted as f(x), which the mathematician in me appreciates. It is an event space, and the pop-up restaurant it was hosting is what brought me here. The space is clean, well laid-out, modern, cozy, and inviting. It is versatile in what it can accommodate with tables that fold up against the wall and out of the way when they're not needed. There is a bar, and lots of shelves for tableware, as well as sufficient room for cooking. Street parking is difficult and crowded, so be sure to plan accordingly. It is recessed from the street further than the other businesses on the street, and signage is very inconspicuous, so it is easy to overlook. I'd recommend giving Function a shot if you need to rent an event space or to attend a hosted event.

Cool concept- they bring in breweries from all over to do a "tap takeover". So a brewery from LA (or wherever)will ship kegs and bottles/cans for a month long takeover. We've gone for Monkish and Drekker. The service is always great, great atmosphere too. They have a new outdoor space that is very nice. The area of Portland they're located in is also fun, with lots of restaurants. Highly recommended.

I love the space as well, though if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation and welcoming pastels this is NOT your spot. I wish we could bring the kids to hang out with us on the patio at least, but Portland permitting is weird AF. Love the merch, love the tap lists, love the events, love the cooler; what more can I say? To top it all off they have El Viejon serving some of the best mexican food anywhere in Portland right in the joint! I've yet to try a single dish that's not delicious and many are absolute favorites. Get a cali burrito and call it a day; you'll be set! Sam et al; you guys are amazing and we really appreciate you! I genuinely only wish I had more time to come spend enjoying Brujos.

I am a big fan of the indoor/outdoor flow for the space, especially on nice weather afternoons like we have had recently. Outdoor seating is limited, so be prepared to sit inside. Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of bike stands to make this a car-free journey.

Server was very friendly and attentive, lots of options for drinks. Pizza is for sure on the high side pricewise, sandwich was a little high, as well. That said... WOW. The sandwich is packed full and had a great balance of flavors and the pizza was some of the best I've had lately (and we currently live in a really incredible pizza city). Ruse makes great beer consistently, and both IPA's I tried were very solid. I'd normally cringe at the price, but the pizza was really amazing. Perfect balance of flavors that made every bite an exeperience. Not afraid to load up the roasted garlic and toppings, so you're getting a heavy pizza for the price - even if the size isn't immediately impressive. Will for sure pop in again.

They had World Cup on the tv and the service was great! Please note you can't be seated until your full party is there so I waited at the bar which is also fun. Every pizza ordered was excellent. We loved the light airy crust with the crispy edges. My friend subbed for gluten free and it was the best she's tasted! I ordered the Green Knight because the sound of lemon ricotta was too irresistible. So good! We all ordered a pizza each and went home with leftovers to enjoy again. The beers were refreshing and I'll have to check out the cocktails next time. Will be back!

Everything else was delicious, as expected here, since this is our third visit here. We also ordered appetizer and sweets! All were very good! Many of the dishes were great. Environment was great. They are genuinely happy. I've been here maybe a dozen times in the last two years, and the serving crew is always top notch. The cocktails are consistently great too. So, that goes a long way for repeat business! The food is usually excellent, and a recent brunch was outstanding (see pics). Occasionally, there has been a near miss with too much salt on the Brussels sprouts or other minor infraction like that. All in all, it has displaced Serrato as my "go to" to meet up with friends. I've only eaten outside, so I have no idea what the inside experience is like. Outside, it's a sheltered patio with heaters if needed and a few small tables against the building as well. Bonus for this area in general is that it's a great place to walk around and window shop, and it's relatively close to the Japanese and Rose Gardens (by car).
