In any case, taken on its own merits, the sleek interior space is very nice indeed, and service was excellent; the menu is compact, but looks promising, and there is a cool TV room in the back where you can literally watch DVD on an old set. Love it! The outdoor area (upfront, overlooking Capital Hwy) is a spacious grassy plot, with a good amount of chairs arranged on either side strategically placed near heaters, and is a great spot to spend summer afternoons - there's even a covered part. To me, it just feels like a completely different business which I guess is good if you can't decide what mood you're in. I'll be back to try the food, and will update then.

Everything on the menu is both an instant classic and a unique arrangement that makes me want to keep going down the rabbit hole. It's an intimate sort of setting with a classic bar feel. So I'm glad we stopped because those are my jam. We walked in and it looked exactly as pictured. Simple, older bar feel. Tables scattered. A few booths. They have a little stage in the back for performances. And darts. They even have a ship wheel which I love cause I'm a nerd. Since we were in a rush we didn't order food, but the menu looked like classic bar food. My friend says she enjoys it, so next time! We weren't really greeted while walking in. It feels completely different from Loyal Legion downstairs and has that secluded speakeasy vibe I'm looking for. They also have a great cocktail selection. On my most recent visit, I tried the Rude Boy, which was a newer drink on the menu. It had great flavor and was really well presented with the garnish. I've tried other cocktails here on previous visits and have enjoyed those as well. The staff are incredibly friendly and the vibe is that old school bar. Definitely on my list of affordable go-to places for a burger and beer after work.
