Still just as good as we remembered. Perhaps even better since after the fire. It's been a while since we've been back but it's still the great place that it always was. And fantastic to see Lindsey behind the bar. A solid staple of the Portland area and a must on any dive bar tour.

Wednesday night bingo with sativa is the best!!! Come play it's a lot fun and the drinks are great

Short and sweet - this place has really tasty, good quality food, at an unbelievably reasonable price. Friendly service and a laid back atmosphere make this a must-do. I can't wait to come back and try one of their much ballyhooed burgers.

Great bar restaurant with a lively clientele and a friendly bartender, too!! Had the fish and chips with shoestring fries, three pieces of fish and a very tasty coleslaw. My daughter had a pull pork sandwich that she enjoyed, too. Will definitely be back and interested in their Wednesday bingo, too.

But no, you are Old Barn, and what a glorious little dive you are. This place has seen more bad decisions turn into legendary memories than probably any bar in Portland. Back in the day, the corporate crowd and I would "accidentally" decide around noon o'clock that productivity was overrated. Somebody would say, "One drink," and suddenly the laptops were closed, the appetizers were flying out, and we were there till we had to call an Uber home looking like raccoons that had survived a windstorm. I'll never forget winning six grand on one of the machines right around Christmas. I thought I was the king of Portland for about twelve minutes. The whole bar felt electric. That's the magic of Old Barn. It may look like a little shack from the outside, but inside it's packed wall to wall with giant personalities, hilarious stories, strong drinks, and the kind of people who become your best friends for one night. I have watched the most buttoned-up, serious business people walk in acting like they owned the world, then three drinks later they're telling strangers about their second cousin, their divorce, and why they secretly wanted to be a drummer in the 80s. Honestly, beautiful. That's community right there. And somehow I became the guy with the little smoky stick. Women kept grabbing it out of my hand saying, "You don't even smoke, give it back." Fair enough. I probably looked like a toddler holding a magic wand anyway. Great drinks, good appetizers, fun games, and the kind of atmosphere you cannot fake or franchise. If you're anywhere near the area and want a true Portland bar with real people and unforgettable nights, Old Barn is the spot. Five Stars !!!

We came especially for the last Friday of the month special...the Fresh Razor Clams. The Clams were perfectly breaded and fried. The salad before hand was also excellent. My father-in law had the Oyster Stew which he said was just ok. The accompanying vegetables and potatoes on the plate with the Razor Clams were also done so well. Our server was excellent as well. She was always there for any requests we may have had. We will be back for other specials or just to enjoy good food and drink.

It's on the street level of a multistory apartment building, with big windows that look out onto Capital Highway, which makes for good people watching, and there's a dozen or so tables --- both low and high ---- inside for seating. A couple of TV screens are tucked up into the corners, but the vibe is definitely not that of a sports bar; more of a semi-private club. Thumbs up to these guys for usually having an interesting, off-the-beaten-path selection of beers, ciders and wines. It's always fun to try something new, Alas, there's no food - like, at all - which is why I'm taking off a star, but otherwise it's a throughly pleasant (if kind of generic, decor-wise) space in which to enjoy a tasty brew among the friendly local denizens of Multnomah Village.

That's when the…read morecraft beer scene was slowly emerging and getting a customer base.. before the over saturation that came later. This brewery is in a part of Portland we don't usually go to so there were lots of breweries that were new to us to try. Steve and I had lunch here. I saw that they had a pretty deluxe grilled cheese sandwich and that sounded great. With a few different kinds of cheese and tomato this sandwich proved to be more involved than I thought but it was good! Steve and I then shared an order of onion rings... man I haven't had those in a while and they were not disappointing at all. The beer... yes that was what our primary draw was to come here for. I got the the Row 14 which is a rice lager and this particular rice lager was Hopped. It was good! It had that nice graininess that you get with a rice lager in the flavor profile but with it being hopped it's a bit more bitter... a bit more of a bite. It wend good with the meal! We had another Old Market beer. This one was the Dark Ritual which was a dark lager. This was another good, solid beer also. Flavors to enjoy with this one are coffee, maltiness, roastiness, sweet with a smooth body. The restaurant location is cool. It's nice and spacious and comes across as kind of a college hangout (though I don't know if it really is). It also looks like you might even possibly get live music on certain nights. Old Market was a good, solid visit and is worthy of a return.

This place is over. I finally got my partner to come back here after a bad experience last time…read more Unfortunately, this was equally as disappointing. Let's start with the good things. The staff here is amazing and very friendly and the yucca fries are good. Also, the honey root beer is very good. But it all ends there. I paid $18 for a burger. The tiny patty was overcooked, leathery and dwarfed by the bun. My partner got the beef and lamb gyro. This was absolutely horrible. The meat was dried out like jerky and unchewable. Even the feta cheese was dried out. Fortunately, the very sweet waitress took that off the bill since he only took a couple bites. I think the meat was bad because he woke up sick to his stomach and I'm running to the bathroom a lot. This place has seen better days and I think it's over. We will not be returning. It's such a cute place and convenient that we've given it several tries, but we have been disappointed every time. This place could be a cold mine. They just need to get some cooks that can actually cook a decent meal.
