Genuinely my favorite brewery in Portland (which is really saying something). Beers are spectacular and the staff is excellent. I love the space as well, though if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation and welcoming pastels this is NOT your spot. I wish we could bring the kids to hang out with us on the patio at least, but Portland permitting is weird AF. Love the merch, love the tap lists, love the events, love the cooler; what more can I say? To top it all off they have El Viejon serving some of the best mexican food anywhere in Portland right in the joint! I've yet to try a single dish that's not delicious and many are absolute favorites. Get a cali burrito and call it a day; you'll be set! Sam et al; you guys are amazing and we really appreciate you! Brujos is a hidden gem in NW/slabtown that everyone should try at least once. They just completed an interior renovation of the bar, and damn, is it ever a cool design and space. I am a big fan of the indoor/outdoor flow for the space, especially on nice weather afternoons like we have had recently. Outdoor seating is limited, so be prepared to sit inside. Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them. Seriously top tier brewmasters here putting out some of the most creative collaborations and styles of beer I've ever known. I've had people fly in to visit with the specific intention of going here so that says a lot in and of itself. The space inside has a gothic feel to coincide with the whole vibe of their beers. Nice large booths and long tables support crowds both large and small. Also there is a decent (not too large) outdoor patio. I went to this brewery for the first time. I live in California and was in town for the Brujos Anniversary event. It was crowded but I did not mind. The line moved pretty quickly and the service was great despite the crowds. We did order nachos and I thought they were delicious and the beer did not disappoint. One thing I don't appreciate is... when it came to closing time the bartender kind of rushed us saying "5minutes" like fuck girl the bar is already closed let us finish the beer that we paid for!? don't you have to pick up anyway? This was definitely a unique brewery. This place was recommended to us from some friends who had previously visited. When they say heavy metal ambiance, they mean heavy metal ambiance. Decor was point and you knew exactly who they are the moment you step a toe in the door. The space is fairly large. We went on a beer release day so it was pretty crowded but still a bit of room. They do have food but we didn't try it. Someone next to us got tacos and they looked pretty fire. I only had one beer here but I made it count with The Order of Six: Triple Dry Hopped, Triple Hazy India Pale Ale featuring Nelson Sauvin, Nelson Hyperboost, Nelson Hop Kief, Simcoe, Citra, Citra Cryo, Nectaron & Rakau Hop Kief. This spot was so good, my boyfriend and I came back THREE times during our trip to Portland -- that should tell you everything! The beer here is incredible. If you're an experienced beer lover, you'll definitely appreciate the variety and depth of flavor in every pour. Each one felt carefully crafted and full of character -- nothing generic here. Been here twice now. Both times great vibes and great service. Their ambiance is the best part of the place. I have tried a few of their IPA's now and all have been good! Their unholy water is super fun and a unique touch. The unholy water is alcohol free sparkling hops water infused with citra A hops and grapefruit abstrax. You can buy their beers in cans to take home as well! They also had a super cool collection of merchandise, had to get a hoodie, shirt, and some stickers. They partner with El Veijon for food. I highly recommend the El Gobernador taco (6.5). At first I thought it was an over priced taco. But once you eat it... one or two and you are STUFFED. They are 100% worth the price. The taco consists of shrimp, mozzarella, chipotle aioli, and cilantro in a corn tortilla. The sauce selection is fantastic as well! On V-Day they were doing specials the carne asada plate was great. Awesome brewery experience unlike any other in Portland. Ambiance was amazing and one of a kind giving you almost like a dark medieval type vibe with metal music playing in the background. A few months back I got to visit this brewery. It's been on my list since having their stouts has had me wanting more. The brewery is SICK! When entering the brewery the art and details suck you into their magic. They also have an outdoor covered seating area. I tried and assortment of beers and came back a few times during my stay. They had a lot of IPA's and some guests beers on tap. I was also able to try a few stouts, but no luck on bottles as I was way past a release. The beertender was friendly and hilarious. He was showing off a champion belt he won! He also recommended some greet beers to try. We definitely took a lot of cool prop photos around the brewery with our beers. Drove cross country on a road trip really excited to try this spot as they have elite haze. I'm personally in the camp that high ABV beers over 10 percent that do not offer less that 10oz pours promote unsafe drinking and are a money grab. I'd kindly pay more pour ounce that to risk my safety or someone else's to drink these high abv beers. Drank a half of a 10oz 13 percent pour and left. Biggest let down of road trip so far. Just the 2nd of 45 breweries sampled over the past few weeks cross country that this was a thing. read more

One of the best breweries in Portland hands down. Sam has been making stellar beer for a long time and I am so glad he has a brick and mortar taproom to enjoy. The ambiance is death metal and instead of chairs there are wooden church pews. I haven't had a chance to try their in house food vendor, but the menu always looks good. Brujos Brewing is described as a Gothic themed brewery with death metal playing. Yes, that sums it up well! I love Goth and have been to a few death metal breweries back in Denver, Colorado but I always appreciate going to another one and this time around so much closer! It's always refreshing going to a brewery with a unique atmosphere. Of course keeping a sharp eye for merch was definitely on my mind and I got a t-shirt in hand as part of my purchase when the tab was closed. So far... and I do mean so far I have had three different beers from this brewery. I would love to make it a watering hole for Steve and myself whenever we visit Portland... which is about two hours away. But onto the beers without further delay! One of the beers we fell in love with was the Hostia which is a Czech Pilsner. Flavors to enjoy in this beer are breadiness, maltiness, floral and spicy. It was also very effervescent! The Threefold Law was another beer we had which also was a pilsner. Flavor highlights with this one are hoppy, clean, grassy and bready. The beer is quite bright! In The Midnight Hour was a pastry stout we also had. Every once in a while I love a good pastry stout! Flavors in this lovely are vanilla, cacao and nutty. The beer is very smooth also. Really a great brewery not only in it's atmosphere but also in their beers. They are worthy of five stars with ease. read more

Was super excited to check out Brujos, but was pretty underwhelmed. I'm a big IPA fan but not always a DDH guy. They went a little further with them than I enjoy. Tried a few, but nothing super great. The best beer we tried was a guest tap. Wasn't a fan of the lack of prices on the menu. You're just ordering what you want and you get charged what you get charged. In this case, prices were pretty high $8+ for the pours we had. A barrel aged guest tap was $13. Oddly that was a large pour and super high ABV so was the best deal of the bunch. Also one we ordered was a can pour, which may have been labeled, but we hadn't seen it. Love the vibe they're trying to create. The theme is darker and towards the macbre, but the open windows definitely make it difficult for them to achieve their motif. Sitting between warehouses is this lil gem of a Mexican restaurant the food was good a bit on the expensive side for three of us our bill was just under $80 we put in our order at the front counter and sat ourselves we ordered floutas 4 no sides that's extra two birria tacos a shrimp tostada another shrimp taco and empanada and a side of rice also chips and salsa it was all tasty my flautas fried a lil bit too long so the chicken was dry and like the tortilla crunchy but edible I was the designed driver so no booze maybe next time everything else was very tasty and delicious the outside seating was nice with a sunny day we had the death metal pumping in the background it was a good time four stars because the $$$ and overcooked flautas also nobody ever checked on us like everywhere else does I would have tipped but it's pretty much other than the food being brought out a self serve place give them a try and thanks for reading.. read more

Been here a few times and I always have a great time. It has a nice atmosphere and they host different fun events. They had a beer event a couple of months ago and more recently a comedy show. I dont drink their beer so I cant review it BUT the kitchen they have is great. They have the best horchata in all of Portland not gritty or chalky and the perfect amount of sweetness that's not artifical. The tacos were so good. In just a short time, this has become THE brewery in Portland!! The atmosphere, the service, the beer, in any order it's amazing!!

We attended a ticketed Portland Beer Week event here, so I can't speak to their normal level of service or prices. They have a good variety of beers on tap & their own staff working the bar were nice. The place looks really cool inside, and they have covered patio seating outside as well. We were able to find street parking on the neighborhood without any issues at lunchtime on a Saturday. read more

If you like death metal in it's different forms, this place is for you. I don't particularly enjoy it.
