The next time I visited Deschutes, my daughter joined me. I had a tasty salad and an ipa. My daughter just ordered fries, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our server, who' name I cant remember was excellent and the beer was brought out immediately and the salad and fries followed soon after. I bought and celebrated lots of great beers with strangers and beer geeks alike. Went to eat magna kusina (highly recommend) after and then went home next morming. So I thought. I got into the TSA line only to discover i couldn't find my ID. Retracing my steps it had to be at the brewery. After a payment of $55 (what happens when you don't have your ID at TSA) and a few calls to the brewery, some good Samaritan had turned in my ID. My buddy was there as well but the brewey promised they would send it the following week. Next week followed. Nothing. A call was made and they promised to send it next week. Nothing and of course a call was made. This went on for over a month so naturally without an ID I was limited to what I could do. Ya know, no beerfests or fly out of the airport. But they did send it to me overnight one day and I just wanted to say thank you to the people here as well as the portland beer community. Everything was great, I'd do it again but maybe next time I'm just letting someone else buy me the tokens.

The taproom is located in an industrial area and shares a space with Pizza Thief. Parking is plentiful and on the Thursday afternoon that I stopped by, the taproom was pretty empty. Happy hour is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and you're able to get $3 off of select pints. I opted for the Northleft, a hazy IPA and for $4, it can't be beat. This particular hazy had great texture and the hops really pack a punch. If you're not familiar with Great Notion beers, they also have a bunch of delicious sours and "smoothies" that are otherwise very difficult to find from other breweries. It's a true art and only talented brew masters are able to create beers this tasty. If you have an opportunity to head towards this part of town, I highly recommend checking out Great Notion. If you're working remotely, they also have guest WiFi you can connect to to get some work done with beer in hand.

Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them.
