The favorites of the night: pesto chicken sandwich, and pulled pork sandwich. Everyone enjoyed the fries, both potato and sweet potato. I had the taco salad and it was good, but the ground beef was a bit dry. Overall, everything was good. The food, the service and the beer. I'm sure we will eat there again.

I will say that I was not disappointed. The first visit I sat at the bar and enjoyed some world cup soccer, a great beer, and the star of the day, an amazing burger and fries! The next time I visited Deschutes, my daughter joined me. I had a tasty salad and an ipa. My daughter just ordered fries, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our server, who' name I cant remember was excellent and the beer was brought out immediately and the salad and fries followed soon after. If you live in Portland and have not visited Deschutes, or if you are in town for a short visit, I definitely recommend Deschutes!

Of course I bought tix and tokens but heres where it went wrong. Either during the check in process or the time i bought extra tokens, I had to whip out the ID and CC. I bought and celebrated lots of great beers with strangers and beer geeks alike. Went to eat magna kusina (highly recommend) after and then went home next morming. So I thought. I got into the TSA line only to discover i couldn't find my ID. Retracing my steps it had to be at the brewery. After a payment of $55 (what happens when you don't have your ID at TSA) and a few calls to the brewery, some good Samaritan had turned in my ID. My buddy was there as well but the brewey promised they would send it the following week. Next week followed. Nothing. A call was made and they promised to send it next week. Nothing and of course a call was made. This went on for over a month so naturally without an ID I was limited to what I could do. Ya know, no beerfests or fly out of the airport. But they did send it to me overnight one day and I just wanted to say thank you to the people here as well as the portland beer community. Everything was great, I'd do it again but maybe next time I'm just letting someone else buy me the tokens.

I've been a huge fan of Great Notion beers for many years and today was my first time visiting the…read moretaproom in Portland. The taproom is located in an industrial area and shares a space with Pizza Thief. Parking is plentiful and on the Thursday afternoon that I stopped by, the taproom was pretty empty. Happy hour is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and you're able to get $3 off of select pints. I opted for the Northleft, a hazy IPA and for $4, it can't be beat. This particular hazy had great texture and the hops really pack a punch. If you're not familiar with Great Notion beers, they also have a bunch of delicious sours and "smoothies" that are otherwise very difficult to find from other breweries. It's a true art and only talented brew masters are able to create beers this tasty. If you have an opportunity to head towards this part of town, I highly recommend checking out Great Notion. If you're working remotely, they also have guest WiFi you can connect to to get some work done with beer in hand.

Unfortunately it was way too loud in the back room to enjoy the music, and there was a rowdy FIFA game on, so we headed out pretty quickly. Second visit, we came back on Sunday night for dinner. The vibe was significantly more laid back. We were able to sit in the booths in their main bar area and enjoy pizzas and a sandwich. Across both visits, service was consistently good, the food was solid and satisfying, and the beer was excellent. It's great neighborhood taproom with a fun energy. Just know what you're walking into depending on the night's entertainment!

You have to see the host for seating but then order at the bar or through your phone. Phone ordering is fine - sometimes it's easier if you're not in a rush to order and then at some point your order will come. They do have a great deal, which is $15 for a cheese burger and a pint. Their white tea ale right now is great. Food was meh to pretty great, depending on the dish. I'd skip the fried tofu and chicken wrap but stick with the burgers and pretzels. Overall I prefer the Beaverton location with the food carts.
