Oregon Walks Final Social, was the first time hubby and I went here! I was impressed with that presentation, the seasoned fries (skinny, love it), and their nachos, (I could eat those 2 all day and night long), and the beer, whatever 'light' beer hubby picked for me. Today, I'm doing an event perched in front of the Brassworks Gallery, on NE Glisan, for the Portland Greek Festival event, and hubby went back when they opened up for Noon, to order a half portion of the nachos, same exact without the jalapeno, as we had a week ago. Plus the seasoned fries (with his burger). Minus the beer. I am glad, they're ALL MINE! I love them. Hubby's order: Glisan St. Burger (with bacon). Neighborhood taproom for Migration Brewing. If I had to choose a favorite location, their Williams one a bit North of this one is my preference. This location has more of a dive-bar, well-worn look to it, compared to their other locations. But, there's plenty of windows & natural light, which brightens up the space. They have lots of seating both inside in the dining room, at the bar, a separate room for events/sports watch party gatherings, and a big patio out front next to the road. The patio isn't covered, but some tables do have umbrellas. Friendly service. Decent variety of beers, and they have a great food menu, too, which is a plus. They don't appear to post their live taplist online, which is a bit disappointing. But their website does list what beers they make, just no specifics as to what's currently on tap at each location, so if you're hoping to try a specific beer, it might not be available. read more

My recent visit to Migration Brewing on Glisan was an utterly disappointing experience that left me questioning why I bothered stepping through the door. From start to finish, the visit was marred by questionable practices, lackluster service, and an overall atmosphere that felt anything but inviting. Let me break it down. First off, the pricing structure is deceptive and frustrating. I ordered a pint, expecting a straightforward cost, only to find out at the register that they slap a $0.15 "health and wellness" fee onto every single beer. My pint came out to $7.65, which might not sound like a huge deal, but this fee was never mentioned on the menu or by the staff beforehand. It felt like a sneaky cash grab, and it left a sour taste before I even took a sip. If a business is going to add surprise charges, they should at least have the decency to be transparent about it--post it clearly or have the staff mention it. Instead, it felt like they were hoping customers wouldn't notice. The service was equally disappointing. The staff acted like order takers, nothing more. There was no warmth, no engagement, no sense that they cared about the customers in front of them. I got the impression that they were just going through the motions, punching in orders without a hint of personality or hospitality. Not once did I feel welcomed or valued as a patron. A simple smile or a quick chat about the beers could've gone a long way, but instead, the interaction was cold and transactional. In a city like Portland, where craft breweries pride themselves on creating a community vibe, this level of disinterest is why breweries go out of business unfortunately. The beer itself? Mediocre at best. For a brewery in a city known for its exceptional craft beer scene, Migration's offerings didn't stand out. The pint I had was fine but forgettable--nothing about it justified the price or the hype. There are dozens of breweries within a short drive that deliver far better quality and flavor, often at a more reasonable cost and without the surprise fees. The overall atmosphere didn't help redeem the experience either. The place felt sterile, like they couldn't be bothered to create a space that makes you want to linger. It's the kind of brewery where you walk in, feel like you're intruding on the staff's day, and leave as soon as you can. I've been to plenty of breweries that make you feel like part of the family, where the staff are excited to share their craft and the vibe is warm and inclusive. Migration on Glisan is the polar opposite. Save your time and money. Portland is bursting with breweries that offer superior service, better beer, and a genuine sense of hospitality. Skip Migration Brewing on Glisan and head literally anywhere else for a better experience. This place is a pass. read more

Wasn't very busy, but it was also Memorial Day... took 45 minutes to get my food- cold burger and fries, no apology (about the slowness, or the temperature). My friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich at the same time, it came about 5 or 10 minutes later, also cold. Not tepid, but full on cold! Seems that nachos will be delivered very quickly, as someone who came Much later than we did, got their nachos within minutes. Migration Brewing has quite a few locations in the Portland area and you can get their cans in Washington state at bottle shops. So all in all this is a fairly large company. The beer I had the other night from Migration I believe may have been my first one from this brewery which is kind of surprising to me. But don't hold me to that. Straight Outta Portland was the beer I had. It was an IPA and not really a specific kind either. Just a typical one. It had a bitter, floral and tropical taste to it. Not the most memorable beer I've come across but at the same time fairly refreshing which wins a four star rating for this brewery location. read more

Stopped add a pop-up tent along the water for some beer. I cannot speak for the brick and mortar because I've never been there, but I did stop to have some of their beer at a pop-up farmers market right next to the water. It was the perfect stop on a hot day, they are a few different choices we went with something A little more cool and crisp, I believe it was their logger. The beer was tasty. Came on chilly fall day to chat with some friends. They have decent indoor spacing and outdoor tent / bench for this Covid time and all the right protocal, outdoors with space heaters but be ready to have a few layers on as it is still cold unless you are an eskimo. If you've read my previous Migration review you know I really like this brewery. What I learned is that Migration buys beef, pork, chicken and seafood exclusively through Wilder company. Wilder works with sources local to Oregon and the North West providing superior quality, like Carlton Farms, Carmen Ranch, PaintedHills, Mary's, Treflin and on and on it goes. Check out Wilder web site for complete list and their story; and you'll be impressed. Their purveyor list includes sustainable, grass feed, organic, humane treatment of animals, drug free, GMO free. What I am looking for! So, a big shout out to Migration Brewing for being conscientious and providing the best quality grub possible. Impressive! Went on a Wednesday after bomb Ramen down the street so there was no crowd but this place can hold a lot of people out front, indoor and outback. Rain coverage is great and they supply heat upon request. Burgers and great beer. We had the Fresh Hop Pale and it's my favorite Pale I've had in a long while. Pina Colada Sour was interesting. This was an impromptu day. We went here to stop and eat and of course grab beer. they are doing a great job to enforce covid rules and still giving great service. Chicken Strips plate- the strips were seasoned well, good and crispy. The batter was light as well, come with ties and slaw. Wings- good and hot, plenty of flavor, also a nice portion to share. Though it had some bean sprouts, chopped carrots and other vegetables found in Pho, there was an odd mayonnaise sauce that did not resemble flavors of Vietnamese food, nor Pho. The burger itself wasn't bad, and though it did have some of the same ingredients, if I had eaten this without knowing the name prior then I would never have guessed Pho.
