We came to Migration on a Saturday afternoon, which I think is a nice time to go to this spot. My boyfriend and I were doing our own little brewery tour, and this was a nice first stop - cute patio, small but nice seating inside. I had the Patio Pale, which was very good, and he had the Straight Outta Portland IPA. He liked his, too! But our favorite part of Migration was the Pretzel Twists. We added the jalapeno cheddar, and they were SO good! The beer cheese that comes with them was exceptionally delicious (my boyfriend is still talking about it haha), and the pretzels themselves were definitely above average - plain they would've been really tasty, but the melted cheese and jalapenos on top were even better. Children everywhere. Everywhere! It was like Lord of the goddamned Flies last time we visited. I get being child-friendly, but uh...they don't need to treat the patio like a public park while I'm trying to drink away my work day. They hardly ever change their beer lineup and the beers they usually have are middle of the road. I've never gotten food, but have no desire to do so, as the menu doesn't appeal to me and other Yelpers' opinions about it help me feel like I've made the right choice. only reason I'm giving stars is for the outdoor patio, which is kid and dog friendly. There is a water station and water bowls for dogs. I was not impressed with my food though, nor with my son's. My chicken banh mi was way too dry... the chicken tasted overcooked and I couldn't even taste the sauce, and it didn't help that there was a lot of bread to top it off. Very disappointed. My son had the kids meal of chicken tenders, which was more like chicken nuggets that they didn't serve any sauce with or even ask if we wanted sauce. We were never checked on by servers at any point during our visit in the patio. I won't be back. read more

My adult daughter and I ate lunch here. We had a veggie burger with fries and an Ahi salad. The food was good for "small breweries focused on beer" food, although I thought the price was a little more than it was worth. My real problem with this place is that the person who served our food (I later learned that her name was Whitney and that she is the General Manager) was "Flagging." "Flagging" is a throwback sort of Grindr, where people wear color-coded bandanas in their back pockets advertising the specific kink they're looking for. Now I'm a Portlander and I don't care whether she wanted a good beating but I found it not only unprofessional but kind of "skeezy." Not much puts me offa ma food but....Gross Whitney! Migration may not have the best beers in town, but they do have one of the better places to sit and drink those beers. The whole place is pretty comfortable, right down to an area with couches. I'm a fan of the huge patio with tons of places to sit and enjoy a cool PDX Summer evening. Cool brewery to have in the neighborhood. I haven't eaten any of the food aside from the Meat & Cheese tray, but it was good. The beers range from good to great, with most falling in the "good" range. Came here for burger week 2023 and the Chimichurrgur was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed. The service was friendly and laid-back.

I've tried eating here several times because I both live and work in the area and am often disappointed with my food. (The only exception is ordering the kale salad.) Today I tried a new item. I ordered online for a pick up at a later time but they made it as soon as the order was received. According to a text I received, my order was ready an hour before the scheduled pick up so I assume it sat on the counter for that long getting cold. read more

Major case of false advertising. Me and my roomies came here to sample the burger week special because it looked delicious online. It was stacked high and had a beautiful, shiny bun. What we got was... McDonald's-like. A flat, lukewarm burger patty (that didn't even seem homemade if I'm being honest) paired with the kind of bun you buy at Safeway for your child's 5th birthday party because it's the cheapest option. We hadn't been to migration in a while as it is a bit of a drive for us, today we find the beer selection severely limited compared to the previous visits and we ordered two bavarian pretzel twists tilamook cheese , and got a frozen pretzel from the grocery store and nacho cheese sauce from the can which cost us 7$. This was my first time at the brewery. And this has been a place that I've wanted to go to for a while now. I always walk pass this place during the summer on my way home from work and it's always packed which made me think it's one of those "must try" places. Meh.. is how I feel about it. I had a cider (which I favor over beer) and an IPA. I loved the drinks. And they do have a great selection and also they offer very convenient options for those who just want to grab some beer and go. Food, which I was hoping would be out of this world, was not. The chicken I got added into my mac and cheese was not grilled, it tasted more boiled and had this old stale taste to it. I was bummed. The shoestring fries were great, however. The atmosphere is nice for friends to gather and the place is roomie so you can have a huge party to come and sit and chitchat without feeling like you have to leave for them to turn tables. It was nice watching my honey drink his beer and relaxing beside him. They serve food here mostly geared towards omnivores and vegetarians. They had a giant sign in the dart area that said "no minors allowed". We were the middle of a game when an entire family comes in with their small children and stand right next to the dart board and made us nervous that we'd hit the kids. A 6/10. I hate to sound harsh, but his place was a disappointment. At similar brew pubs in town, I usually give an easy 4-5 stars. While this place isn't bad, it has nothing going for it. Here are the reasons I took off stars. First minus, there is no table service inside the restaurant, so you have to stand in line. This is bad because you lose your seat/table while standing in line. Huge fail. Plus, this means you cannot get refills and such without standing in line again. You shouldn't have to pay upper end prices for no table service. Second minus, the Migration burger tasted bland. I've not had a less flavorful burger for a long while. For $12, I expected to be impressed, or ay least not let down. There's way better options in town. Third minus, and this is the worst part, but the beer really wasn't that great. I got a sampler tray, so I tried a good number of them. They were all just mediocre, except for the Terry Porter, which was good. So what does this place have going for it? Not much. I would only come again if I was in the neighborhood, and only to get the Porter. Otherwise, there are way better options all over town. read more

The main thing I am looking for when I go to a brewery is the quality of their beers. That being said, Migration has a few decent brews, but nothing has ever blown me away. In any other town, this place would be my favorite hangout and would drink their beers constantly. In Portland, an area where the brewery market is already pretty flooded, I am not very impressed by them. Like I said, some of the beers are decent here, but they don't compare with some of other breweries in the vicinity. Not a huge selection of food, but they do have a variety of sandwiches to choose from which are pretty tasty (like most places in Portland, chips come instead of fries, not a fan). The main thing Migration has going for them is their size, they had a lot of space before, but now they have opened an annex (formerly blue agave) with a secondary bar inside. They also feature a large outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. They are on par with some of the larger breweries in town for capacity. Migration also seems to have a devoted following, it is usually pretty busy inside, especially when a sports game is on. With all of these people it can get pretty loud. Migration isn't really my cup of tea, but I can see how many would love it. If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy great beer, Migration probably isn't the place to go. If you are looking for a place to go out with a group of friends and drink decent beer, Migration is definitely an option. read more

They have beer to go as well, with good pricing for everything. Good selection of craft beers. Had the stout which had a good taste with no lingering after taste. Didn't try any others though so not sure how the others taste but based on the one I did have I'd figure they would be good too. Open spacing with a huge outdoor patio so there's plenty of seating. A lot of it is family style and there's no real "bar seating" per se, only 3 seats but plenty of seating otherwise.
