This is my favorite location for Migration Brewing. Huge indoor dining section, seats at the bar, and a HUGE, beautiful outdoor patio out back with lots of plants, flowers, and shrubs, giving it a backyard garden feel. The patio has both covered & uncovered seating, and heaters, with a variety of seating with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Food at this location is run by another place, and their good is really good. Friendly service. Decent variety of beers, but they don't appear to post their live taplist online, which is a bit disappointing. Their website does list what beers they make, just no specifics as to what's currently on tap at each location, so if you're hoping to try a specific beer, it might not be available. They were out of the beer I wanted, by luckily the beertender recommended another dark beer they have, and it was good. read more

I came here and hung out in the patio area with a meetup group. I like that this place is very chill and had good vibes. I ordered a cider. Note they had a few options but all in cans. It's a brewery so it was nice for gluten free peeps to have some choices. I believe I saw a cocktail menu but don't quote me. Haha They also serve food here but I didn't eat. I really wanted this place to be great but man is it terrible. One employee working and one cook. Asking for 30% tips for counter service and some of the slowest cooking I've had in a while and then these airport looking $8 fries. The owner should be ashamed. Edit: ate the burger. My sister and I were in the area and happened to stumble on Migration Brewing. We were drawn in by its warm and welcoming vibe. The brewery was very spacious with lots of indoor seating and outdoor as well. Their entire menu looked solid. Migration Brewing had a stacked IPA list, but I saw that they also offered cocktails and other libations. Their food menu looked good too though we didn't grab a bite at the time. My sister got the "Good Morning Coffee Stout," which was so smooth, creamy and coffee forward. It honestly was more like a nitro cold brew to me than a stout. Lastly, customer service was excellent. We were greeted and served by the nicest bar staff member, who also was the main point of contact in the entire place that afternoon. He sure held down the fort with all the occupied tables and bar stools. read more

Had the Migration Burger which was great. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Space offers a variety of environments (large back patio with covered and uncovered portions, indoor seating, and sidewalk seating). Was craving a burger and finally decided to stop try this place out. Online ordering was very easy and food was piping hot and ready at the time it was supposed to be. The family and I love this spot. We have a little one and this place is really good for kids. They have a decent kids menu, as well as good options for sides; apple slices and veggies in addition to fries, as well as all-natural juice and milk. Their food for parents is solid pub fare - good burgers, great fries, and a variety of bowls, salads and wraps. Add in that their beer is both excellent and well-varied (a half dozen seasonal and co-op IPAs rotate through their standards in addition to pilsners and porters, stouts and sours) and this place is a win. We hit it about once a week. One other note: I noticed a few reviews commenting on snarky remarks towards kiddos from the staff. We also encountered this for a while this past year, over the summer. There was one server in particular that was outright rude to our kid and we heard similar complaints from other parents we know in the neighborhood. That employee no longer works at this location and since they left, we've had no further negative encounters. read more

Oh looks it's me reviewing another brewery in the neighborhood:). Ok so migration brewery has a couple of bright spots one of them is the outdoors patio! Loved sitting out there while eating lunch. The beer is always good can never complain about that. My server was always asking if things were good so she was very helpful. Second bright spot is the the food. I had one of the best pub burgers to date and that's saying something since I stay visiting brewery's. One of the best parts is it's also close to my GF job so points for that also :). read more

Not a place for children. We've gone here for the last few years, typically on Thursday nights after our kickball games at Irving Park. Our group will range from 6 to 16, and historically we have had a great time. The back outdoor space is nice, especially around 7pm on a nice summer day. We showed up tonight, ordered at the bar (both food and drink), and grabbed two of the larger tables outside for 9 of us. Apparently kids aren't allowed to play outside in their large back gravel space anymore, at least according to the black bearded busser who was running dishes from the outside? The first time he told our 5 year old directly, and then when one of our teammates was playing hide and go seek with our 5 year old and 3 year old, he asked her and our kids to stop again. Something about all kids need to have a person 21 and older with them, which we were on the patio close by to where they were playing, and one of our over 21 folks in our party was playing hide and seek with them. A real bummer as this has been our go to spot for a number of years after our summer league, even back when it was HUB. Not sure if the guy was just in a bad mood or what, but guess we have to find another spot that is kid friendly for our Team after our games in NE Portland. read more

We came here to drink and kill time while we waited for a table at Eem across the street. It was a Monday and there was a long line when we arrived around 12:30 pm. We waited about 15 mins. After we were seated, there was practically no lines. A lot to people were seated outside and only 1 person was inside. We decided to sit indoors since no one was close to out the table we chose and there's no other tables outdoors available. They serve everything here. There's food, beer, wine, cocktails. I have been a huge fan of Migration Brewery since they opened their flagship brewpub on Glisan Street in early 2010 and I've been super stoked to watch the progression of the transformation of the space on Williams in the closed Hopworks BikeBar. They opened last night! (March 8, 2021) The location is beautiful and spacious. The indoor has big screen TV and gorgeous tables - well spaced out for social distance precautions. Outdoor patio is very nicely done - it is covered and heated. Plenty of spacing for safety measures. The tap selection and food menu looks fantastic. I will be back later this week to enjoy some beer and food! And add more to my review. Yesterday I tried their new sour beer - Raspberry Squeeze - it's not only beautiful to look at - it's delicious - and lives up to its description of a fruity aroma complemented by lemon tartness I also tried the Mo-Haze-IC. It's a beautiful hazy IPA with tropical flavors. We also enjoyed the rotating table bacon and the cornmeal onion rings. The bacon of the day was flavored with garam masala - very tasty! You get six pieces of bacon for $12. Very reasonably priced. The cornmeal onion rings are delicious - we devoured them and needed a second ramekin of the delicious chipotle aioli. This location is absolutely beautiful. Great beers. Great food! I'll be back soon! read more

The other two migration sites have been go to stops for us for a long time. This is in the old HUB location but it's fantastically renovated. Familiar staff from the other two locations are doing an excellent job upon opening very busy and our food took about 1 beer whatever that means to you. If you are putting your food on a clock go to McDonald's. If you want great beer, great food, and a solid atmosphere go to migration. This isn't the place to go if you are trying to feed your crying baby and 2 toddlers accept your life for what it is now netflix and burger king. I have kids not being rude I just think some people need a reality check. This migration location is awesome drink beer, eat fried chicken, and stop crying so much. read more

This place has a great outdoor space with a tent that has see throughout spots for the sun. Nice heaters and fire pits when it gets cold. Very kid and dog friendly too. The beer was great, but the menu is pretty IPA heavy. We went in a group of 4, and I ordered chicken strips, which were very good. The shoestring fries were crisp, and the chicken wasn't too heavily breaded. The other orders were a Caesar salad with crispy chicken which was a good portion, and the chicken was amazing (so I was told). The others ordered the pretzel which looked amazing, and the seasonal salad. I rated it 4 star because it was supposed to be a watermelon season salad, and it came out with squash instead. They had not indicated the seasonal salad ingredients had changed from what was on the menu. This is also a place if you go to watch football go on a rainy day because the only tv's are inside and large space. However, overall was great food, great space, and great location. read more

Went there today for Wing Week and after ordering and paying for my food the cashier yelled "really no tip!?" loud af. Keep in mind I gave a generous 25% tip. SO unprofessional! I was so confused I had to ask again what he said bc who really yells that LOL. Never that serious. The manager ended up talking to the guy which he never apologized or nothing. This used to be a great Hopworks. Maybe the beer is great, but the food isn't. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The menu is quite short. My friend and I both ordered hamburgers, she with salad, mine with fries. The meat was medium quality, gristly, the bun unusual. The trimmings were fine and the fries, as well. For my first restaurant experience since March of 2020, this was disappointing. We agreed we wouldn't go back. We saw two friends there and they like the food, so depends on what one chooses. read more

Portland parents who have long known this prime NE space as Hopworks BikeBar will have their hearts drop as soon as they enter this new, cold, unwelcoming embodiment. Once upon a time -- before COVID shuttered its doors -- Hopworks BikeBar was a neighborhood place full of color, energy, warmth and phenomenal customer service. The waitstaff would remember your favorite orders, would bring the kids little soft serve ice cream cones, and would always earn every cent of their 30% tip I would love to grant them. Migration has taken that jovial, family-friendly haven and turned it into another cold, industrial-styled, Portland brewery with lazily-scattered tables and the absolute minimum of customer service. The scowling manager, counting receipts at a back table (so professional), barked at my 70-year-old mother to put on her mask one step inside the door. I mean, BARKED. Due to that first impression, we should have left. Lucky for Migration, we were hungry. It didn't get much better. Unfortunately, it's yet another Portland BrewPub that has decided to skimp on staff and consumer experience by taking orders exclusively at the bar, dolling out numbered flags with all the charm of a supermarket deli. This is a Portland trend which has never made sense to me -- and the only one I tolerate is The Old Gold in North Portland which offers a much friendlier staff, much better and more inventive menu, much better patio, and a much better bar, period. But, I digress. Migration's beer is good and their food was okay -- but certainly nothing outstanding nor worth returning to. And, we won't. For the cheap seats, I did some quick math; when BikeBar was open, I spent (on average) $4,160 per year for my family to happily dine there on a near-weekly basis. I've been going to Migration on Glisan for years and was excited to go to the new location. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by my experience there tonight. Our food took over an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive, and the waiter was unquestionably rude. The waiter (in the pink hoodie on 3/23) didn't even bother to say sorry despite them losing our order. The food was okay-- but the experience was awful! read more
