    Detroit Style Pizza
    Alex W.

Excellent Detroit Style Pizza and good beers. The atmosphere is very bright which I love in a bar, clean and they have a nice sized TV. We did go for a major sporting event when it wasn't overly busy so it would have been nice if they could turn the sound on but they weren't able to do so. Overall though, service is good and the employees are friendly. My biggest complaint and deterrent from Ruse is the high beer prices. $8.50 is quite high for a craft beer in Portland, especially when they are brewing it themselves. Would go way more frequently and be a 5 star if not for that.

I love the space as well, though if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation and welcoming pastels this is NOT your spot. I wish we could bring the kids to hang out with us on the patio at least, but Portland permitting is weird AF. Love the merch, love the tap lists, love the events, love the cooler; what more can I say? To top it all off they have El Viejon serving some of the best mexican food anywhere in Portland right in the joint! I've yet to try a single dish that's not delicious and many are absolute favorites. Get a cali burrito and call it a day; you'll be set! Sam et al; you guys are amazing and we really appreciate you! I genuinely only wish I had more time to come spend enjoying Brujos.

I am a big fan of the indoor/outdoor flow for the space, especially on nice weather afternoons like we have had recently. Outdoor seating is limited, so be prepared to sit inside. Interior seating is not the most comfortable, with former church bleachers that are quite bouncy or large and hard game of thrones-like high chairs. The team is super friendly and will send you to the food station or the bar depending on your needs, and, with the good quality Mexican cuisine on service, you'll want a taco or two. The brewery specializes in Hazy/IPAs, to come expecting to enjoy these PNW basics. I swapped between them and non-alcoholic options since hazies are not my favorite but everyone I was with loved them. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of bike stands to make this a car-free journey.

The standout feature for me was the QR code ordering system: scan, order, and close out your tab whenever you're ready, all from your phone. In a busy restaurant, this feels less like a gimmick and more like a small act of genius. No awkward eye contact trying to flag someone down, no waiting to pay while mentally calculating how close you are to just leaving cash and hoping for the best. That said, if you're not in the mood to embrace your phone as your server, the traditional route is still there. You can walk up to the bar or catch one of the servers floating around. It's a smart setup that solves the "we're busy and maybe a little understaffed" problem without making it your problem. Food-wise, I went with the meatball sub (on special). Handmade pork and beef meatballs, clearly done by someone who knows what they're doing, and the kind of sandwich that requires both commitment and a few extra napkins. No regrets. I paired it with the Breakside Pilsner, which landed comfortably on the higher end of "good"Not life-changing, but absolutely something you'd order again without hesitation, especially if you're settling in for a while. Overall, it's a place that feels like it understands how people actually want to eat and drink right now. Efficient without being cold, flexible without being chaotic, and just cool enough to make you feel like you picked the right spot.

Bridgetown Beerhouse wasn't empty but it also wasn't overly crowded like some other nearby places at this time of night. They have some outdoor seating along the store and in the converted street parking. Inside has bar seating with multiple taps and some round tops. TVs had the game on (which game? I don't know, I don't do sports. I just know people were watching and cheering). There are multiple fridges well-labeled with types of beer, which is what I went straight to. I took a while debating what I wanted - the bartender greeted me but didn't offer help choosing. That's fine, they were busy enough, but expect to be on your own here. I ended up finding some winners that I hadn't seen elsewhere so I'm pleased.

The salad portions for the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo was huge and I enjoyed every bite. THE DRINKS I tried the non-alcoholic hop water and that was a nice take on a NA drink. I enjoyed it when it was fizzy, and the free re-fill was nice. Later, we tried a custom beer flight, and it was nice to be able to customize the flight. The bartenders will help you craft a custom mix you are happy with. THE ATMOSPHERE Overall, it was lowkey, great atmosphere, the music wasn't too loud, prices were on point. I would come back here again if I was in the area and I'd feel comfortable bringing a group of friends to gather here for games.
