One of only top artisan pizza place still open on 1st January. We were hoping to get a table but the restaurant was fully booked out. So we did a take out. The ambience and smell of the place really stood out. We got Funghi and Margherita and both of them was really good. Personally I liked Funghi, my date probably kept deciding till her last bite what she liked more. I would love to be back here for dine in experience preferably and hopefully with the same company.

Still elite and delicious pizza in PDX. They were celebrating their anniversary and had some specials. It really feels like a nice candle lit dinner in there and service is attentive, good. Cozy but cool spot.

If you are in the area this is a must try! Open nightly and reservations strongly encouraged. This place is cozy, charming and makes amazing food. The pizza is cooked to order with fresh dough in a high heat fire oven. The options are unique and making a decision is not easy. We started with the endive which is great for sharing, so much flavor! Italian red wine and pizza ... diavola, funghi and nonna were our choices tonight. We all shared. The nonna was my favorite. Diavola had good spice. Funghi has a lot of arugula on top adding to the flavor. Pizzas come uncut with scissors. The crust is amazing. For dessert we got the tiramisu, not usually on my list but came highly recommended and it hit the spot. We sat at the bar and got to see all the pizza making magic. I will be back. They also offer carry out. Enjoy!

Had been eagerly waiting to try Grana and finally made it in last week for an evening dinner. All in a lovely meal and great atmosphere. I will start by saying definitely make reservations ahead of time. We had one, but sitting at the front of the restaurant we counted at least about dozen parties come in and then proceed to leave after hearing about the hour plus wait. The atmosphere is lovely inside. The tones are warm, the art is nice, and the pink tile lines the back while by the pizza oven. We were sat unfortunately at the very first table which is typically not my preference but I understand given the time of day. The chef's counter looked like a fun option if you wanted to mingle a little more and the owner I believe was the one cooking up the pies which is awesome. Food overall was super tasty. It's a lighter and doughier pizza than folks are maybe used to. Certainly more authentic neopolitan style. The flavors were rich and tasty. Dough had good flavor and the tomato sauce you could just tell was fresh. We wound up getting two pizzas and an app which I think is the right amount for two folks to share. The white bean spread was a delicious starter and came with tasty bread. Service all around was great. Wait staff were kind and efficient. If anything I wished less folks had come in to ask about availability because it meant the cold air kept leaking in but I understand that isn't in control of the restaurant. Great date night spot overall!

We'd been wanting to try Grana for a bit & will definitely be back! The interior is simple but cozy with a laid back welcoming feel. We had a reservation & snagged a nice quiet table against the wall near the counter. It was full when we arrived, but not too loud which was great. If you're able to make a reservation in advance it'll save you from waiting, it's a small space so it seemed to be a bit of a wait for walk-ins during the rush. The food was as good as we'd hoped. The Caesar was a lighter take on the classic, love that it wasn't totally saturated in heavy dressing. We ordered two pies, both very different & both delicious. My favorite was the Diavola, wonderful flavor with a hint of heat! These are definitely pizzas where the crust is worthy of being eaten. I wish I'd saved room for dessert, the tiramisu looked delicious. Next time!

Stumbled upon this place while in the area and we were trying to go there but that wait was way too long. We were very pleasantly surprised and the pizza and Cesar salad was so yummy. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the olives. Very cute date night vibes.

Highly recommend making a reservation. Other reviewers commented negatively on the customer service, but we did not have that experience at all. Our server was very pleasant and checked in on us numerous times. It never crossed my mind to squeeze fresh lemon juice on my olives but now I will! Pizza dough/crust is soft and chewy, airy, ingredients were fresh, and I like the little pockets of burnt crust.

No bad choices to be made

Grana adheres to the rule of thumb of having a small menu to ensure that everything is done right. They truly pull it off. My only quibble can be found outside the doors - parking in this neighborhood always seems to be a challenge. The large parking lot on this block is designated for the other businesses, and street parking can be highly unpredictable. But once you've found your way inside, all is well. Service is attentive but never hovering, the space is bright and comfortable, and the food is fantastic. We tried two different pizzas, neither with red sauce, and they were delightful. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what else they do well at Grana.

Grana is a truly incredible pizza spot! I had it on my list during my trip to Portland, and wish I had gotten here sooner! It's some of the best Neapolitan style pizza I've had, including some of the top-rated Neapolitan places in NY and LA. I arrived right at 5:00 when they opened, and was seated at the chef's counter. Instead of a bar, you sit around the pizza-making area, complete with a beautiful oven. I started with their selection of warm mixed olives, and ordered the Nonna pizza, which was phenomenal. Don't miss out on Grana!

Been a long over due visit and although the pizza didn't meet or exceed expectations but definitely can't tell by long wait times and highly over hyped but love love love the vibe and staff!! So much so the FOUR stars because of staff PIZZA was unfortunately good but not great...Sorry!! So wanted to love it but was just OK?

A creative twist on a classic dessert.

One of those difficult reviews: pizza is definitely one of the best in Portland, but service needs an adjustment. If you want customers to check-in first before ordering and paying via your stupid QR code when sitting outside then I suggest some signage. Our misunderstanding of this non-stated rule resulted in the female "hostess" sporting a major attitude the rest of the meal, she just couldn't let it go. Not one outside table was taken, so we sat, we ordered via your low-touch system (you know, provided revenue to your business), we got reprimanded. We apologize for our crime. That said. the fennel citrus salad was wonderful. And the pizza with dill, egg, and prosciutto was excellent. I can't think of a better wood fired/Napoli style pizza in town, and I've had many. This is meant to be eaten very hot, but the light and airy crust still retains is softness when cooled. Unlike the aforementioned employee, the guy who brought the salad was very pleasant. It may take a few tries, but parking isn't too bad. This kind of pizza come out fast. Five stars for the food, two for Ms. Attitude.

Secret is out on this place. Everything here in incredible. Sit at the counter and watch the action.

I don't get the buzz around this place. It's supposed to be one of the best pizzas in the world? It's not even the best in this part of town. And neither is it one of the best of its style -- wood-oven Neapolitan -- in town. (I would put Otto's, the Turning Peel and Pyro ahead of it in the Neapolitan category.) The pizza is kinda soft and doughy. The atmosphere is upscale from when this was a Pizzicato. Now it's a date place. I got my pizza to go, so maybe I missed out on the other joys of dining there. It seemed cozy and romantic. The servers seemed friendly and helpful. The online ordering worked fine. You're in the heart of swinging 28th and Burnside, so it might be a convenient place to grab a pizza after a movie at the Laurelhurst, shopping at Music Millennium, or having other fun in the area. But you do have at least three other pizzerias nearby, all good in their own ways: Baby Doll (New York style thin crust, good bar attached and lots of outdoor tables), Ken's Artisan (more upscale than Grana, similar pizza) and Bull Run (thicker crust, popular for slice orders and outdoor dining).

Being able to get anchovies in vinegar, ham croquettes, and a Belgian beer takes me back to some of my favorite travel experiences, and the Pix Patisserie dessert options continue to provide a thrill. I have two quibbles that keep me from adding the fifth star - the Tortilla Espanola (closer to an egg and potato frittata than a Mexican tortilla) is served with a drizzle of red and a white sauces. A well made Tortilla (and this one is very nicely done) doesn't really need any embellishment. I'll try to remember to ask for the sauce on the side next time. The second issue I have is that the servers didn't appear to have received enough training to do justice to the things on the menu. Bar Vivant has a lot of wonderful offerings, enough of them that they really deserve better descriptions and recommendations. Between the drinks, the savory and the sweet options, this is a very special place.

Bar Vivant is a place where you can get more than just Sherry, you get an education about the differences, variations and Spaniard regions where the sherry is cultivated. If you are into Sherry Wines, then this is the place for you. It's a "low-Key" spot with a sense of Romanticism. They have a beer garden that serves as a temporary escape from hustle and bustle. The chill vibe allows for you to take your time, sip on your sherry while trying the different tapas, such as pulpo, sardines, ham, croquettes and much more. If you are in the mood for a good dessert with your sherry, well, you are in luck because Bar Vivant is like a "two-for-one". The restaurant shares it's space with Pix Patisserie, the only place in Portland where you should purchase Macaroons! Because it is a chill spot, the service is chill as well. If you are in the area, waiting to be called for a table, I recommend you stop here while you wait.
