Beef taco, the best and only good taco out of the three I ordered.
Lily H.

Raving reviews do not match up to the tacos I had. I ordered three different tacos. I love tacos. There's a lot you can do right with a taco, I only liked 1/3 that I got. They all seemed freshly made, but were difficult to enjoy. The pork taco - Filled with one large piece of pork that was at least half fat. The mango slaw included was about 3-4 toothpick thin pieces of mango. The avocado included was one slice of avocado that was almost paper thin. Then smothered over it all was the chili sauce which was overwhelming the entire taco if anything. Did not like anything about this taco. The fish taco - Piece of batter fish was thick and flavorless. There was no balance to the taco as it literally was 80% a large piece of fish. Do not recommend this taco. The beef taco - The only taco I enjoyed. Crispy corn and flour tortillas on the outside, tasty pick with some hot green pepper and an overall balanced taste between all the ingredients. Overall - subpar experience. Do not recommend fish or pork taco. Would try other taco places before coming back here again. Was hoping for so much more.

Vegan tacos

Vegan tacos? Say no more fam, you've already gotten my attention. Spitfire Tacos has vegan beans and rice in addition to vegan tacos. Both are decent options if you're in the Salem area. The tacos use Morningstar Farms beef crumbles and instead of small street style corn tortillas, Spitfire uses larger homemade flour tortillas. The rice and bean plate is huge and includes fancy upgrades (pickled onions and guacamole, anyone?). The only thing that's missing here is some salsa. I'm the type of person to POUR salsa over my tacos and unfortunately, none was included in my order. Aside from this small gripe, you can count me in as fan of Spitfire Tacos. Let's TACO-BOUT-IT. I walked in around 1pm with a hunger that could only be matched by an excellent bunch of tacos. I forgot to eat breakfast, had walked the island of Marblehead, lost my best friend, Wilson, and I found my self looking for answers... And the answers came in the form of three spectacular tacos. When in Rome (Salem), you get a vampire themed taco.

Worse salsa verde I've ever had. It's terrible cause it's sweet & its supposed to to be with a lil spice to it

This food is nothing special for the price more quality of tacos. Plus salsa verde it suppose to be chili peppers but they probably used bell peppers since the owner isn't of Spanish heritage but wanna charge like it's authentic,, still do wit this place as you will ... btw it's 6 dollars for 1 taco so back to casa Amelia in lynn i go.

Cute little taco place. Staff was very friendly despite being super busy. Got all of our orders right. Everyone enjoyed their food. Tacos were great. Quesadillas were great. Got spot for a quick lunch while walking through Salem.

Check this new spot out the next time you're in Salem, MA! I ordered their two specials... (Both PACKED with flavor!) Sweet Kielbasa Carmelized Peppers and Onions, Confit Fingerling Potatoes, & Salsa Verde (Wooooooow!) "Brieadilla" Brie, Dates, Golden Raisins, Arugula, Truffle Balsamic Vinaigrette, & Red Onion Vegan Rice & Beans

I was hesitant. A taco in Salem, Massachusetts? I mean I'm from San Antonio where tacos were born and raised by God !!! I ordered a beef taco and she got the vegetarian. It was a little different but in a really good way. No salsa, instead a chipotle aioli sauce. Crispy corn shell and it had a thin flour tortilla wrapped around the outside. NOTE: I've never seen them served this way but I have seen a lot of people do this back home because every good Mexican restaurant serves flour tortillas with your dinner. O.k. . All I really need to say was just that they were delicious tacos. Great job guys.

We were so happy to make our way to Chef Ryan at his new spot. Our tacos were fresh and flavorful, and ready quickly. We will be back!

Convenient order ahead option with Apple Pay is a plus, and I dig the location. Had a steak/chorizo burrito with the standard fixings, which was delicious, could use a little more sour cream but nothing worth complaining about, as all the flavor is there. Probably my favorite north shore burrito joint. Highly recommend. And the Jamaica is the best!

But raising prices while cutting portions and skimping on ingredients is not the way to treat your customers. I used to love this restaurant, but after not ordering for a few months, I came back and was shocked by the decline. The kids' burrito is noticeably smaller and costs a dollar more, with barely any meat, rice, or beans. They even forgot the cheese and tomatoes! The birria tacos barely have any meat, and the tortillas are smaller. The taco bowl is suffering as well. What a disappointment. I understand inflation, but customers should still receive a decent portion and the ingredients they are paying for. If prices need to go up, so be it, but don't cut corners to the point where people feel cheated. Customers notice when portions shrink, ingredients disappear, and prices keep climbing. It's frustrating because I genuinely loved this restaurant and enjoyed the food. One of the main reasons was that my family was able to enjoy a decent amount of food. That's what makes this experience even worse. Instead of feeling excited to order again, I feel ripped off.

The vodka drink is good, you can taste the vodka and strawberry, it's almost like a strawberry purée. It was a neat experience to see the "fake blood" go into the glass to drink I'm a tequila person but this was good. If only they had a margarita in bag like this, it would be good too. The food. I love taco salad, and this was pretty good. It's a big size portion too. My husband got one of the burritos which was huge but he said the taste didn't really taste like a burrito. He could taste the green sauce more than the meat and other things in it. I liked it but it definitely tasted more of the texmex side of things. Still would recommend this place!!! Will be back.

Indoor and outdoor space is plenty and the service team is well equipped to handle the masses. We got there right in the middle of the mess and we're seated promptly. Tables cleared and they cleaned them asap to help with the rush. Love the fact that they were prepared for the mess that Salem turns when in Which season. 5 of us and food came out pretty fast too. The menu is not huge, its the same basic ingredients reused for different items. I had the steak tips with Mexican rice and beans, guacamole and a bit of lettuce. It was great. Ps add a bit of Howling sause but its not hot, well i like hot. The other adults plates were also good but with the caveat below. Its not real Mexican, its americanized Mexican.. Not Chipotle nor taco bell but you can tell as they use flour tortillas instead of corn. I know, i go to mex restaurants every Tuesday and can tell when its legit vs just good food. A lot of places double up on the tortillas for this reason, but no need here. We ordered the birria, carnitas, and cabeza tacos, chicken sopes, beans, rice, sweet plantains, sweet rice pudding and horchata. Standouts were the carnitas and cabeza for me - very delicious in their simplicity, the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Birria was also very good but overhyped IMO (novelty factor). The chicken sopes were way bigger than expected, could easily be a meal on its own and the masa tart was pretty good. Our table liked the green sauce to add zip to the food. It was very sunny when we went, so it was blinding and hot to be sitting inside, hope they install a shade at some point. They seem to only serve in takeout containers, so eating at a table requires getting a bit creative for a "plate" etc. There's a small lot behind the building and street parking is pretty easy. I will definitely be returning to try the lengua and more things next time!
